Lose 7lbs in July

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

Hi everyone!

Weather is fantastic today Smile. Had an early morning gym session...over 600 calories burned.
B- Smoothie made with strawberries, blueberries, banana and low fat milk
L- Multi seed brown roll with lurpak and marmite and 3 large strawberries
D- Going to have Salmon, sweetcorn and brown rice.
Lots of coffee and water, no snacks.
I plan to weigh in every Saturday morning. Hope everyone has a great day.

Wenchelda · 04/07/2019 13:19

Hello everyone Smile Think I'm doing ok and am managing to stick to my higher than it should be 1600 allowance. I'm using MFP and logging everything I eat is the only thing that's ever really worked for me when it comes to losing weight.

Exercise is where I really struggle- I do very little and am not particularly active and I know that is my downfall. I bought a treadmill in February and completed 9 weeks of C25K but then just stopped and haven't got back into it since, apart from odd days here and there. I really cannot seem to find any kind of exercise I enjoy so whatever I try and do feels like a struggle. I need to do more though - recently found out my blood pressure is slightly raised (technically still not classed as "high", but higher than what is ideal/what it's always been in the past) and I know losing weight & exercising more are both recommended to help with this. Yet despite knowing this, I'm still really struggling with motivation to actually do anything ConfusedBlush

LosingLola · 04/07/2019 13:33

I weigh most days, but the only weigh in that counts is the one at SW group.

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 04/07/2019 18:28

Finishing today on 1148

How’s everyone else doing?

Wenchelda · 04/07/2019 18:53

I'll be on target today. Plus after my post earlier about lack of motivation to exercise, I got on the treadmill for half an hour of jogging & fast walking Smile

Harnett11 · 04/07/2019 19:07

I need to lose 1stone by August 9th as I’m going on holiday. Have been reading posts on this thread & others for a while but have never posted anything. But if I have to write down how good/bad I’ve been may give me the push I need. I have already lost 18lbs so I’m past halfway. Good luck to everyone x

pookypup · 04/07/2019 19:36

Hello @Harnett11 you are welcome to join us

pookypup · 04/07/2019 19:40

Well done @Wenchelda and everyone else who exercised today. I find it really hard to fit in around kids and work. Did manage 12000 steps though which according to my app gives me a bonus of about 200cal - just right for a big glass of white with dinner. Grin

chutneypig · 04/07/2019 20:34

@Chickenitalia you have my sympathies on the Oxford driving, it fills me with fear how unpredictable it is.

I’ve finished the day on 1700 calories and 10500 steps. I enjoyed the Grit session this morning and will definitely do that more.

Run first thing tomorrow to offset a family meal in the evening, I’ve been sensible and ordered half a pizza.

Harnett11 · 04/07/2019 20:51

Thank you pookypup x reading the threads I have just exercised for the first time in months. Just the inspiration I’ve needed

Chickenitalia · 04/07/2019 20:52

Good news @chutneypig the driving wasn’t too bad there, on the way back it was fairly horrible but by that point I wasn’t too worried, dd did very well with her exam and dh was in charge of fetching ds due to being so late back from the trip.

Today’s exante bar was strawberry jam and yoghurt, it was utterly lovely! Best one so far. I wasn’t too starving either! Dinner I had a weight watchers sweet and sour chicken meal a la ping! Due to the crazy day, and actually that wasn’t so bad either.

Now sitting here letting the house cool a bit with a peach and black tea drink I found in Sainsbury’s this week. Looks like the weather dips again after the weekend, at the moment it’s very nice indeed.

Hello @Harnett11, well done on your loss already! Silly as it sounds, making myself come on here each day has sharpened my resolve, hope it helps you too.

DrDiva · 04/07/2019 21:16

Hi everyone, this is a flying visit this evening! Lovely to read of everyone’s resolve, delicious food and exercise! I’ve done well on calories and steps, sadly no Shred today, it turned out a bit too manic. Tomorrow I have off though, so might do one early in the morning and one late afternoon to make up. Halo

Gonegardening · 04/07/2019 22:05

Late check in. Managed to stick to food plan and did an hours cadio in my work lunch break.

However - failed tonight and had a few glasses of white wine. Hoping I can find the resolve to work on banishing my rice pudding belly tomorrow.

Well done all those registering losses. I weigh weekly on a Saturday morning rather than daily, but whatever works is the way to go. Hoping I don’t undo all my efforts between Friday and Sunday. Confused

WhatALearningCurve · 04/07/2019 22:12

Finished for the day.

Slightly annoyed that I didn't get my steps in however had my first KIT day in work and my job is 100% sedentary - plus our office is tiny so I'm happy I did over 7,000 as pre maternity leave I could easily do a full day at work and end the day on about 2,000.

LosingLola · 04/07/2019 22:37

Not had a great day today - I've been battling some personal stuff that made me eat all the chocolate. Have managed over 10,000 steps though so it's not all bad.

Foreverlexicon · 05/07/2019 06:11

Good day for me yesterday, came in at 1400 calories, about 12k steps and rode the horse for an hour.

I’m about to go for a run - only going to do about 3k but will go up a massive hill. Today might be a tough one, it’s a paperwork day at work and that always gives me the munchies. Then ride the horse and going for a drink with a friend.

B - 2 scrambled eggs with ryvita and an orange
L - halloumi, couscous and veg
S - 2 peaches
D - gammon campfire stew
2 cans of fruit cider

Comes to 1584 which I’m happy with - was under yesterday so averages out!

chutneypig · 05/07/2019 06:11

I’m down 0.6 kg this morning. It’s the weekly average I really take into account but I’m pleased with that. It will help keep me focussed on not going too overboard over the next couple of days away.

I’m going to head out soon for a run while it’s still not too hot, I’ll be missing my parkrun fix tomorrow.

That a very good effort on your first KIT day @WhatALearningCurve. It’s never easy when routines shift.

chutneypig · 05/07/2019 06:13

I’ve just seen your post @Foreverlexicon. Enjoy your run! I find I have to up my calories on a day I’m running or I am starving by evening and at risk of stuffing myself. I’m aiming for an extra crumpet for breakfast today.

BustedDreams · 05/07/2019 06:20

Good morning you lovely lot. Welcome to the newcomers.

Stayed on track yesterday apart from my DH made a hot chocolate drink and it would have been rude to not drink it Grin.

On a positive I did up my steps yesterday to 5617 from 4100 the day before. Intend to reach about 7000 today.

Salad & boiled eggs for lunch.

Cod, carrots & peas for dinner.

Sending positives vibes and wishing you a great day!

Morning all

I am down 0.8kg from the start of the week and finally back to losing after a month of plateauing.

I stick to roughly 1600 calories a day but do walk 20 miles a day minimum so need them.

Am off to meet a friend for a swim this morning which will keep me cool for a while. Looks like it is going to be a super sunny day in London.

Hope Friday is kind to you all and remember not to go too crazy this weekend.

pookypup · 05/07/2019 07:03

Morning all, @Sharpkat just back from a swim too - it feels easier than other exercise. All well here, 1st weigh was down 1.4(!) to 69.6, but suspect that’s just water. Am going to next weigh on Monday. Yesterday was ok, 14000 cals and 12000 steps.

Have a good day all.

cheesenpickles · 05/07/2019 07:06

Morning everybody. Good luck on your runs. I wish I could be a runner but the terrain near me is so built up it's a bit tricky. After the summer I'm joining the gym though so hoping that'll give me more of a push. I ended up on 1,219 yesterday which is pretty good as doing OMAD makes it tough to get calories in. I also did a whopping 15k steps. Jumped on the scales this morning and I'm down 0.4lbs (just shy of 0.2kg) and have dropped from the obese to overweight category. Woohoo! So pleased. Still a way to go before I get into the "healthy" zone but feeling so chuffed with that progress.

I'm going to a nightclub opening for work tonight but skipping the drinks and canapés and just going to take some photos and show my face. Hope everybody has a good day today.

Moopointcowsopinion · 05/07/2019 07:17

Ooh can I join? I’ve lost 10lbs so far by fasting twice a week and going to the gym twice a week, but I am struggling to lose anymore and just keep yoyoing the same 4lbs now. I would love to lose 7lbs in July! This week I’ve lost that same 4lbs I lost last week, and I’m determined not to put it on over this weekend so I’m going to track my calories on MFP.
So far my weight seems to have come off my boobs and stomach, so now I need a new bra... annoying... desperately trying to slim my arms down in the gym but seem to be building muscles instead!

Chickenitalia · 05/07/2019 07:32

Morning lovelies, another sunny one! The very thought of running anywhere brings me out in a cold sweat so well done @chutneypig and @Foreverlexicon! I have a couple of friends who started c25k and have done themselves some nasty injuries, makes me stay well away.

Hugs @LosingLola, hope today is kinder for you. I always turn to comfort food if I’m upset or stressed, it’s a horrible vicious cycle. Can we help suggest things that might help in place of the chocolate?

I came in at 990 yesterday which was something of a surprise and explained why I was a bit hungry later on 🤣 but made me think that longer term something like 5:2 could work for me once I’m happy with overall weight.

Today, dinner will be a turkey and cauliflower curry, only a small helping of rice. Lots to sort out for the weekend as both kids have things on that require names in and bags packed. Also a class assembly and sorting items for our sale at school next week. Lots of lifting and carrying! One benefit of the exante bar at lunch is I don’t have to prepare anything, more time for other things!

WhatALearningCurve · 05/07/2019 08:46

Morning! This mornings weigh in was 12st 12 so apparently 6lb down since Monday! Not going to trust it though till I get to Monday and its the official weekly weigh in.

Might need to find an independent 3rd party scale this weekend to make sure mine aren't lying to me.....
