a stone

Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

Oh notevenamum it is so disheartening isn’t it? I think today can go one of two ways: either draw a line and see today as new day, or, (and this is what I would typically do) eat my way through it until I made myself feel even more awful.

You can’t punish yourself for eating sandwiches. But I think if other choices were available then maybe it wouldn’t have happened? So the key is planning. That cheese roll could have been some cooked chicken or hard boiled egg.

Perhaps put yesterday to one side and look forward to plan ahead? Even taking a practical step might be positive enough to keep you in the right mindset?

JeezYouLoon · 02/03/2019 10:37

Can I join in?

I had a stone yet again to lose after Christmas so far I'm half a stone down. I always get this far then falter, however this year I've booked myself on loads of 10k runs so I'm hoping the increased exercise will help 🤞

I'm going to get back into logging my food and be more mindful of what I eat. Currently on holiday but we've done loads so I'll be interested to see what I weigh when we get home.

O4FS · 02/03/2019 10:38

And 1.2 pounds is two and a half packets of butter (isn’t it?) That’s a decent amount of (lightly salted, delicious) fat gone!

twobambinos · 02/03/2019 10:58

I'm still here but I'm having a major wobble. Not sure I will have lost anything. The week started so well on the exercise front. And now nothing. I think I'm most likely eating way more calories than most on here. Will have to see what the scales say at the end of the week and then a change may be needed.

Today going to try drink more water.

Keep up the good work everyone. Well done to the losers

beela · 02/03/2019 11:17

Don't lose heart noteven. A big glass of water could weigh 0.8lb!

twobambinos wobbling is fine, just jump straight back in. I'm always more disciplined Monday - Wednesday, if I could keep that up all the time I'd be sorted. But then again, I'm not sure if I'd want to, I like my wine and cake too much. Maybe look at an average across the week?

helenb706 · 02/03/2019 11:22

Hi all... I had wine last night and thoroughly enjoyed it but was really disciplined and didn't have nuts/crisps/chocolate so not beating myself up. I am going to make Monday my weigh in day as having to post will make me moderate the weekend!

rainydogday · 02/03/2019 17:32

I started off well at the beginning of this week but having a child's birthday with loads of crap
Food hanging around is a total nightmare. Monday starting a complete fresh!

O4FS · 02/03/2019 17:57

I’ve been very good this week, have lost 11 pounds.

I am launching into ‘eating everything in sight Saturday night’. (Fruit and Nut features).

O4FS · 02/03/2019 17:57

I haven’t lost 11 pounds this Week. Overall!

notevenamum1 · 02/03/2019 19:12

Well done @o4fs !! That’s amazing! How long have you been at it?

Whereareyouspot · 02/03/2019 19:27

@rainydogday children’s party food would break even the most dedicated slimmer! I had to stick the left over bday cake in the freezer a few weeks back (to serve up for Sunday dessert one week) else I would have actually finished the whole thing off by nibbling!

@O4FS well done you that’s epic! How much further to go? And enjoy your fruit and nut (mmmmm)

@notevenamum don’t be disheartened. You know you have eaten well. That’s enough. The scales will catch up eventually.

@twobambinos how did today go?

O4FS · 02/03/2019 19:36

Started 800Fast 11 Feb. It’s getting harder but am prepped for the week ahead. I didn’t know I could be so damned disciplined! MFP has been really important.

Still another stone to go.

Looking back through MFP I’ve realised I’ve been overweight for 10 years. I had just tipped into ‘obese’ when I started this. I turn 50 next year so it’s really time to sort this.

O4FS · 02/03/2019 19:36

And thank you 😊

notevenamum1 · 02/03/2019 22:02

Honestly I’m so impressed!!

Subtledifference · 03/03/2019 07:16

Hi all, I know I'm a bit late bit can I join you?
I got a bit of shock at 11s 6lb last week, 3lbs seemed to have appeared from nowhere in 3/4 weeks. I did manage to lose almost a stone in 10 weeks last year to go on holiday but the all inclusive resulted in 6.5lbs going back on by the time I got home. Most of the rest has crept back on since.
I've been doing Dukan attack since Wednesday last week so hoping to see some loss when I weigh again tomorrow. I've been around 800 Cals per day with it, not feeling hungry by struggling to break my habits of snacking at my desk.

MorrisZapp · 03/03/2019 09:34

Could the 800 calorie crew give any hints as to how to get through the day? I just don't know if I could survive that, but my colleague is melting pounds with it so maybe I could try?

Subtledifference · 03/03/2019 11:33

MorrisZapp I think lots of protein is helping me feel fuller. It has taken a few days though but I think some of that is feeling like I should be eating out of habit. I felt better today than I have all week hunger wise so hopefully I've turned a bit of a corner.

Thisimmortalcurl · 03/03/2019 11:41

Morning , Friday nights meal was lovely ( had the Beetroot and Steak plus loads of this goats cheeses bread which was lovely )
Also drank an unbelievable amount of wine a prosecco and had half a pizza when I got home 🤭
Avoided the scales yesterday but weighed today and am 8/13 so not that bad I suppose.
I’m really pre menstrual so that makes me feel really bloated .
Morris I try my best to leave is as late in the day as I can to start eating , easier when I’m not working though . Otherwise like PP said I try to eat eggs and chicken to fill myself up .
Some days are better than others !
A mini aim is to be 8/10 by this time next week .

O4FS · 03/03/2019 12:27

Agreed, protein is key. For me logging and measuring everything is really important. Including last nights ‘see it/eat it’ blow out.

No alcohol for me since this started.

I got really cold of an evening initially. Apparently this can be something to do with the thyroid so is something to be aware of.

Whereareyouspot · 03/03/2019 14:06

I know I couldnt do 800 - I feel star by and shaking if I go below 1200 but then I do a LOT of exercise so I guess it’s needed.

Have huge admiration for those with the willpower to pull it off.

I’m ticking over. No days where I have completely nailed it but I’ve stayed off bread and breakfast cereals and the grazing has been well under control. I feel slimmer.

Scales said bang on 59kg yesterday from a start of 60.7 but think they were a bit kind so I’m going to avoid weighting for a few days so I can actually get to 59 and not bounce back up and feel disheartened!

57kg is looking Feasible now so I’m pleased if I can just stay on track with these few simple changes.

How tall are you all? Someone up thread said they were 5’10?
I’m 5’5 and a bit
Weird we all seem to be aiming for similar weights! And all using different methods.

beela · 03/03/2019 17:25

I am 5'3 and a bit! And my immediate aim is to break the 60kg barrier. The massive Sunday lunch that I've just eaten won't have helped but oh my, it was good! However, I went out last night and was driving so stuck with the soda water - hoping for a neutral weekend Smile

Back on it tomorrow, I've done a week's meal plan, the supermarket delivery is due any minute, and I've booked myself onto an extra spin class next week. 50-something kg here I come...

twobambinos · 03/03/2019 17:37

9 stone anything is just a dream for me at the moment . Can't believe when I was 9 stone I still thought I was big. Haven't been so bad the last two days but didn't manage much exercise this weekend. Will weigh in tomorrow and hope for a loss.

Well done on the soda water beela sounds pretty neutral.

Whereareyouspot sound like you are doing well despite not nailing it. 80 20 isn't that what they say.

Thisimmortalcurl that dinner sounds amazing hope you enjoyed it.

mustdrinkwaternotwine · 03/03/2019 19:30

I've come on for a little boast as, for the first time in ages, I've stuck to my intentions over a weekend. I permitted myself a G&T last night and had a bag of popcorn today and that was it. Otherwise, huge amounts of vegetables and a fair amount of protein & carbs (but no gluten so no bloating). I've tried completely cutting out carbs but get quite hangry if I do that.

Thisimmortalcurl · 03/03/2019 21:29

Where are you .. I do no excercise apart from 10,000 steps a day . I used to go on my excercise bike whenever eastenders was on a keep going until it burned 200 cals but it’s currently gathering dust . I’m 5 ft 1

Beela.. impressed with the soda water !
Twobambino.. dinner was lovely but could have done without the drunken half pizza!

Well done .. must drink water , Golden weekend !

I was working today , likely about 950 cals as I shoved a couple of biscuits in .
Off tomorrow so hopefully that will be easier . I’m not thinking I will lose till AF has come and gone though as I usually gain 3lb off bloat .. the joys

twobambinos · 04/03/2019 08:55

I'm down 2lbs. So not earth shattering but good. 10st 5 now.
This week drink more water.

Thisimmortalcurl that reminds me I have an exercise bike tooGrin will dig it out
