Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

ohhelpohno great - I just did 10 minutes of HIIT and made it bearable by watching three of my favourite music videos back to back on youtube to take my mind off it.
Re the director at work, does her surname begin with C?

rainydogday · 28/02/2019 22:19

Re: doing HIIT at home. I used to go Jillian Michaels shred most days, watching on YouTube. Wonder if there are any good HIIT 10 mins clips we could do? Any recommendations?

Eattothebeat · 01/03/2019 05:41

rainydog there are loads on youtube. I tend to watch a few and take note of their exercises and then do said exercises whilst watching my favourite music videos as I can't ever find any where I like both their music and their exercises.

Whereareyouspot · 01/03/2019 06:17

Fitness blender is good but pick intensity 5 and no equiptment in the filter for a decent HIIT

I fell down a bit last night so really want to be sensible this evening
Making kids pancakes this morning so that’s a test!

Cakeandcustard123 · 01/03/2019 06:27

I like Joe wickes body coach hiit on you tube- there are different length ones, high or low impact, beginner and advance etc, so I pick according to how energetic I feel 😊 x

beela · 01/03/2019 07:04

I like Joe Wicks too. I've got his dvds so I usually do one of them 3-4 mornings a week (just about to now in fact, when i can boot the dc of the TV!) but there are loads on YouTube.

Thisimmortalcurl · 01/03/2019 09:37

Weighed in this morning , another pound off so that’s great 8/12 but as most said.. nothing healthy about tonight’s choices .
No theatre show Oh help , just taking advantage off the pre theatre prices .
Hope folk have a good day.

beela · 01/03/2019 10:12

Well done immortal. I still say if you can't go healthy then just enjoy it (I fancy the steak and the cheesecake).

I've also weighted in this morning, I'm still at 60.3kg, which I am happy with because it proves that Tuesday's weight wasn't just due to post-spin dehydration.

I'm going out for a curry tomorrow night - any tips on the best dish to go for to reduce the damage?? I usually prefer the tomatoey sauces rather than the creamy ones anyway, and I'm thinking something with lots of veg would probably be healthiest...

O4FS · 01/03/2019 11:41

213 calorie breakfast: protein enriched bread/sliced tomato/chopped avocado/poached egg/s&p. Bloody gorgeous.

Haven’t lost anything significant this week so weekend will be really hard. Have planned ahead but it’s going to be a big test of willpower. (Willpower generally fails tests set).

O4FS · 01/03/2019 11:45

I agree Beela. Enjoy every bite if you are going to fall off the wagon. I suspect it’s the mindless eating that puts us here, so really enjoying what you are eating and recognising that you are full probably matter more.

I’d go for tikka/tandoori chicken/mixed grill and salad if having an Indian meal, if I was sticking to it.

It’s never occurred to me to make use of a pre-theatre menu! Brilliant. Usually quicker and cheaper too.

Harumphharagh · 01/03/2019 12:24

Do you find hiit really helps with weight? I assumed it just improved muscle tone! Interesting.

11st3 this morning so 3 off since beginning of week, please god could I continue losing a pound a week and I’d be 9 pounds down by Easter! Been holding this extra weight since last baby so think I’m trapped by feeling I never will lose it!

Small porridge this morning, end of mackerel pate and lots of celery, but definitely having wine tonight.

Making celeriac soup now.

MorrisZapp · 01/03/2019 13:34

11.3 this morning. That's 3lb down from my post Christmas shocker.

Looking at 1lb a week here on in. Nothing fancy, just cutting crap and doing loads of cardio.

Harumphharagh · 01/03/2019 14:07

morris snap cross post

OhHelp0hNo · 01/03/2019 14:19

@Eattothebeat I use an app called 7 minute without, you can do multiple iterations so 14, 21 minutes etc. I usually just do one! Then I put my phone music on as background music. I love Joe Wicks YouTube videos too.
Nope, her surname begins with an M so must be a different person

@Thisimmortalcurl I live close to a really popular theatre so often make use of the pre theatre menus! Have a lovely evening.

@Harumphharagh I lost loads of weight in a very short time last year, the HIIT helped loads! I'm a total convert.

I weighed in again this afternoon, 2.5lb off so far since Monday. Want to do at least 14lb in 6.5 weeks so not a bad start!

OhHelp0hNo · 01/03/2019 14:20

7 minute workout not without!

maloofhoof · 01/03/2019 19:30

Do just weighed myself and I'm still exactly 9 stone 7. Not even half a lb lost. Could cry 😩

maloofhoof · 01/03/2019 19:30

*So

mustdrinkwaternotwine · 01/03/2019 19:49

Weigh in today and lost 1lb so I'm 10st7 which means the Christmas weight is gone. Whilst it's good it's gone, it's a sign of ageing and I used to lose Christmas weight in the first week of Jan, then in Jan and now it takes two months.

No breakfast
Soup, salad and a pastie for lunch. Hasn't eaten gluten all week really until I had that and felt quite foggy headed afterwards. Think I finally need to accept that I really can't eat it.
Bit of leftover jambalaya and a couple of crackers at 5ish before going to the gym where I did 30 mins on the cross trainer (214 calories apparently)
Possibly a curry tonight.
2l of water and 2 white coffees today.

Weekends are my downfall so I need to plan my food for the weekend. I'm in the stage of my cycle where I'm not bloated nor constantly craving chocolate so this weekend may be easier than some as I feel as though being healthy is paying off.

I haven't weighed myself. Too much birthday cake around today 😳 1600 calories roughly. I did go to the gym and walk the dog though. Tomorrow is a new day

Eattothebeat · 02/03/2019 07:40

Well done to all the losers and commiserations to the none movers. Do keep persevering though - it will happen. I find the most effective weight loss for me is cutting out carbs and doing regular HIIT. I am not going to weigh now until Friday as I am spending the weekend with family and they are force feeding me all the bad stuff!

Whereareyouspot · 02/03/2019 08:15

Morning all
Like many on here I’ve had good and bad moments on each day.

I’ve kept a diary this last week detailing food but also where I was when I ate and how hungry I was at the time. It’s really interesting and helps me see what actually
Seems to focus me best.

I’ve always been a bit bah humbug about the whole litres of water thing as I drink loads of liquid and assumed that’s as good but tbh consciously drinking water does weirdly seem to result in better eating patterns. Maybe it just makes me feel virtuous and act accordingly or maybe substituting water with sugar free squash or tea or Diet Coke all the time does affect insulin levels and hence cravings.

Also the sitting and eating is crucial for me I def snack more standing up. And taking a portion and if I want moe getting up and taking another portion and sitting back down. If I stand and graze with the whole thing in front of me I can eat huge amounts more.

Had a family curry last night and without thinking ate naan bread when I’d been good and had no bread all week (bread and breakfast cereals are my nemesis) but also had a home made dhal and loads of salad. Did have cake after tho!

Good luck to those with challenging weekends-
Drink loads of water
Think about every choice, enjoy it, try not to catapult into more eating without considering the next plate as another separate choice.

Whereareyouspot · 02/03/2019 08:15

Sorry for the essay!!!

notevenamum1 · 02/03/2019 08:56

Help everyone :( feeling to deflated. Had a bad day yesterday and ended up eating sandwiches in the office instead of my packed lunch. Was just 3 little ones so 3/4 of 2 bits of bread. I then came home and had dinner and was still hungry so had a cheese roll. I’ve just been starving on 1500 cals a day,13 steps and 3 gym sessions a week. I only lost a measly 1.2lbs last week and I weighed myself and I’ve not put on 0.8lbs!!! I want to cry. What is wrong with me??

MorrisZapp · 02/03/2019 09:14

Oh no noteven! That's so unfair, but stick with it. Cutting calories and doing high intensity cardio will absolutely yield results, you've hit a blip my friend. That's all, so power on!

Those with losses, are you seeing non scale results too? Jeans fitting better or anything like that?

I want my hips and boobs to go down. One stone would take me to a very happy place.
