Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

Still 10st5lb today. I didn't put any weight on over the weekend so I'm happy with that. I watched what I ate and didn't pig out on Saturday night like I usually do. Feeling motivated now and hope to be at least another pound down by Friday. I'll take a waist measurement then as well. I was at 33" when I joined the thread-much too big around the middle for my 5'2" height.

Thisimmortalcurl · 25/03/2019 19:10

Really great to read that everyone is doing well .. these lb’s will be gone !
@Twobambinos I’m aiming for 8/4 or perhaps 8/3.
I started dieting April 2017 and went with loads of ups and downs because I like to eat and drink on social occasions and holidays what I want . I started at 10/2 and I got down to my lightest at 7/12 .
I don’t feel the need to go that low again though and the weight since then I’ve stayed most stable at is 8/3 or 8/4 .. I can fit in my clothes and have a couple of wine nights and stay at that .
From I think mid December till this thread started I had been having far more fuck it days than for an awful long time. I did go on holiday for 10 days early jan so that didn’t help.
Went on the excercise bike and burned 200 cals last night , today been fine so far but I am going to have a Edinburgh elderflower gin and slim tonight . I was on a ( very slightly) active course today for violence and aggression so hopefully that excuses the gin .

Good to hear all the progress people are making! I fell off the wagon over the weekend with boozy lunch and too many carbs 😆 but starting afresh today. Always takes me a day or two to get back into the zone which is annoying. Hopefully will shift another lb this week if I can stay focused. I try not to focus too much on numbers, and use how my clothes are fitting as a guide. The sunny weather today has been quite motivating..........the thought of wearing skimpier clothes helps!

sparklyglitterball · 25/03/2019 20:38

If anyone has any ideas/inspiration for low carb vegetarian lunches please do share Smile

beela · 25/03/2019 20:55

sparkly I'd love some ideas too! I sometimes make a really thin one egg omelette and use it instead of a wrap, with salad and halloumi inside - but obviously you can use any filling that you would usually have in a wrap.

Also soup. If I am feeling lazy I buy one of those cartons of fresh soup and eat the whole thing to myself (it says it is 2 servings, but even the whole carton tends to come in at under 400 calories).

I also eat lots of dhal, there's loads of different recipes and I've been trying out different ones, but I guess lentils are perhaps a bit carby?

sparklyglitterball · 25/03/2019 21:18

Beela, I love the egg wrap idea! Will give that a go. I really like halloumi too. I do make soup, and buy it when I can't be bothered as well 😊 I've not tried making a Dahl but really like lentils. I I'm only cutting down on the bread/pasta type carbs so lentils are a good option I reckon.

beela · 25/03/2019 22:06

Yes, me too - just the really obvious carbs.

This is my favourite dhal recipe at the moment:

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/basic-lentils%3famp

... And then you can turn it into this:
www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/spinach-dhal-harissa-yogurt

It freezes well too.

Eattothebeat · 26/03/2019 04:27

beela I love the omelette wrap idea too!! I used to buy them from tesco (ready made up with filling) but they seem to have stopped doing them.
It also takes me a day or two to get back into the zone if I've overindulged at the weekend so yesterday was tough but hopefully today I'll be better. Unfortunately insomnia has struck so I've got a lot of hours of being awake to avoid overeating!

luckylips · 26/03/2019 09:27

I'm afraid I didn't eat my bean chilli as it was disgusting so had a grilled chicken kebab instead 😂

STS at weigh in this morning so it didn't have a negative effect but do need to stick with it today!

beela · 26/03/2019 09:53

I've made myself a really lovely healthy salad for lunch, and just realised I've left it at home 😭

Coroico97 · 26/03/2019 10:34

I really need some motivation too. Just weighed myself as jeans suddenly felt very tight at weekend. Am heaviest have ever been at 11 stone 1. Need to lose a stone by summer as refuse to buy any more clothes! Smoothie with oats really good for breakfast as filling. And only half a banana! How is everyone doing?

CabbageHippy · 26/03/2019 10:38

I'm currently enjoying a very yummy snack of mango, raspberry's, blueberries & strawberries with a teaspoon of sweetener & it's lovely

twobambinos · 26/03/2019 11:08

@beela Sad nooooooo re the salad. Your intentions were good.

Welcome @coroico97 you'll be back to feeling good in no time. Getting started is the hardest step.

@thisimmortalcurl you are nearly there so only a few more pounds to go well done you.

Whereareyouspot · 26/03/2019 11:55

I’ve proper fallen off the wagon and been eating bread again boo! Came in from work and just started picking and didn’t sit and eat once not have a plate of food. Bah.

Back on it tho and have continued to do loads of exercise- getting up at 5am on work days. But that’s been same for last ten years so I don’t think my body registers the calories burnt anymore!

Going to promise myself a proper sit down tea tonight. No kitchen surfing.

Won’t weigh for a few days

beela · 26/03/2019 13:43

Back on track.... M&S salad for lunch. It wasn't as nice as the salad I left at home, but I can have that tomorrow, and on the plus side it meant that I had to leave the office and go for a walk to buy it.

Coroico97 · 26/03/2019 14:46

What are people's favourite yoghurts? Lo cal ones don't always taste that nice. And what do you go to when you get the uncontrollable munchies between meals??!

luckylips · 26/03/2019 18:21

@Coroico97 - Get some fat free Greek yoghurt and have with honey and fruit, a fraction of the calories of fruit yoghurts and so much nicer.

Good day for me - milky coffee, a handful of cashews, chicken salad and a bag of hula hoops. Just deciding on dinner.

Eattothebeat · 26/03/2019 20:29

I've hardly eaten anything today - not through choice but because I've been too busy at work. Too tired to make dinner (the rest of the family had already sorted themselves out )so just a few nuts and a gin and slimline.

Welcome coroico - you'll have the weight off in no time hopefully.
Looking forward to tomorrow - I always feel very motivated if I've done well the day before.

luckylips · 26/03/2019 20:45

I had an omelette for dinner and then finished my DS's pasta. Grrrr! I had the cals for it but I was trying to cut out carbs!!

luckylips · 26/03/2019 21:32

Oh bloody hell I just realised I had a latte this morning so I didn't have the spare cals for the pasta 🤦‍♀️

sparklyglitterball · 26/03/2019 22:02

Thanks beela, I love lentils and Dahl is a great option. Eat, you've had a good diet day then! I'd be starving 😆 I managed a lowish carb lunch of some vege sushi, and dinner was some really tasty lentils in tahini (from Aldi in the frozen section) with stir fry broccoli and spinach, and vege sausages. Should've gone out for a walk with the buggy, but other than school runs I just couldn't be arsed!

sparklyglitterball · 26/03/2019 22:03

Luckylips, I have a weakness for kids leftovers. For some reason they're always so appealing!

Bigglyboggly · 26/03/2019 23:52

Name change and place marking!

Eattothebeat · 27/03/2019 05:52

Welcome bigglyboggly - trying to work out who you were before you name changed!! I have a hunch.
sparklyglitterball be really careful with sushi if you're low carbing as it's pretty high in carbs as it's mainly white rice soaked in sugar.
Feeling motivated today although not much sleep again. I'm hoping to see a bit of a dip on the scales come Friday as although the weekend wasn't great I think I've done enough over the last couple of weeks to register a minor loss.
Haven't had much chance to exercise so far this week but will try and do a bit tonight.
Just a couple of weeks now until our holiday so that is keeping me focused.

Thisimmortalcurl · 27/03/2019 07:36

Welcome new joiners .
I’m feeling a bit annoyed , last 4 days I have been really great although I did have one small passion fruit Bellini yesterday and I’m still the exact same .. I’m really finding it so much harder to shift that even this time last year.. realistically I should just be pleased with what I have lost and accept that after a couple of weeks it is very very slow but it’s pissing me off.
However hopefully it means I will keep my blow out for the one meal tomorrow night but I’m out drinking this evening so my ability to diet fades quite fast sometimes !
What I really wanted off the spa menu was a roast beef and onion with mushrooms and cheese chibatta served with salad and crisps ... how lovely and indulgent does that sound ?
Instead I’ll have the soup and tonight have one cocktail and then gin and slim tonight ... I’m missing wine but not missing the hangover I get with it.
The dhal recipe sounds amazing , I love dhal.
Here’s to a good golden day everyone .
