Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

I have to confess, this week has been a total write off. I've not counted calories but I've not pigged out. Stressful week is my excuse.

waistaway · 22/03/2019 11:00

10st 5lb this morning so a lb down since Monday. I feeling like I'm getting the snacking under control and the exercise went OK. My overall diet could be better though. I'm having toast for breakfast every day and that's not ideal. I'll weigh in again on Monday. I'm not expecting to lose any weight over the weekend but I don't want to go back up. So no crisps or cider.

beela · 22/03/2019 14:53

I've weighed in at 60.3kg today. Down from 60.7kg this time last week, so that's just under 1lb off. I still can't get into the 50s though!

I've been logging my weight on my fitbit app since new year and it has finally got enough data in it to be useful. So the line that plots my actual weight zigzags up and down a bit, but the trend line is downwards, and that is encouraging to see. Also when it goes up the peak is lower each time.

So tomorrow is the start of my new diet week. My plan for this week is to log everything I eat, to make me more accountable.

Eattothebeat · 22/03/2019 18:31

Well done losers! Agree beela that as long as the trend is downwards the minor ups and downs don't matter. We've been out for a very big lunch and probably ate a whole day's worth of food in one sitting so going to skip dinner which won't be difficult as still full. Managed to avoid too many carbs and asked for a side salad instead of chips.

sparklyglitterball · 23/03/2019 07:32

Morning all, sounds like everyone is doing well. I had a pretty good day yesterday, small pack of sushi for lunch, smaller portion of evening meal with extra veg and salad to fill up on. Blueberries and a few nuts for snacks. It's likely to go tits up today though as lunch with a big group of friends, including wine! I normally find the following day difficult diet wise after a day of indulgence. But must not mentally write the weekend off and try to stay a little on track!

Eattothebeat · 23/03/2019 09:28

sparkly is there any way you can drink gin and slimline when you're out with friends and just keep adding an extra bottle of slimline to minimise the damage? That's what I try to do as I just find wine slips down too damn easily and is very calorific. I also get tons of ice in the g&t to weaken it further. Just a thought but you might not even like gin!!

Thisimmortalcurl · 23/03/2019 14:29

Hi,nothing to update really , been working loads and for the last few days stayed on track food and step wise but nothing to show for it on the scales.
Usually I would have said bollocks to this but I’m feeling pretty motivated and this was the first weekend that I had no socialising .
Next week is my birthday so I am going to try to keep going until then and am going to have anything I want on that day.

Caggie09 · 23/03/2019 16:31

I didnt actually weigh in on Friday, will leave it to next week now. Went abit off tracl🙈

luckylips · 23/03/2019 19:28

Don't you just hate it when you leave it too long between eating? I just overate on rubbish while waiting for my dinner! 🤦‍♀️

beela · 23/03/2019 21:26

That's me most days @lucklips!

I was at a children's party today so went a bit off track... Back on it tomorrow though.

luckylips · 23/03/2019 21:41

Think I'm going to plan my meals for tomorrow so I don't do that again! Today was far too carby which meant I didn't feel full and satisfied.

Thisimmortalcurl · 24/03/2019 07:05

Much happier today, I got a whoosh 😁
Scales at 8/8 this morning .
Happy with that
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Whereareyouspot · 24/03/2019 08:09

@Thisimmortalcurl well done you that’s brilliant! You must have lost well over half a stone by now?

I got a 58.5 on the scales but then had two bad days of so many carbs. Just lost the plot and was back on bread and cereal having done so well

So back to 59.7

But I felt so much worse. Bloated and hungry and sluggish so feel motivated again and have just done a shop on line and really tried to avoid all the carbs I snack on (nakd bars and Supposedly low cal cream!)

Have had full fat yoghurt (teeny bit) now as no time to cook eggs and was he least worst option and am off for a long run.

Rules for me are waiting until properly hungry to eat. Weirdly I make better choices then as I’m hungry enough to want decent food
If I start eating when I’m not really hungry then it’s only the bad stuff that floats my boat

Have to get back on the evening snack avoidance regime too.

Determined to see a 57 on the scales at some point again soon!

Thisimmortalcurl · 24/03/2019 09:12

@whereareyouspot
Thank you , I’ve lost 8lbs . I can actually really feel the loss . I’m amazed I didn’t have a fuck it day really as I was getting really despondent with days and days of keeping within cals and walking 15.000 steps for nothing .
What is likely my focus is a huge big Chinese meal on Thursday .. I have looked up the menu and I’m likely going a bit far as it is coming in at about £50 for 3 adults and mid 😂
I eat quite a lot of crispbreads instead of bread .. 20 cals each and I try to pad them out with laughing cow spread, nice pastrami , lots of salad . It feels like I’m eating much more cals than I am .
I am all about carbs though .. it’s a very rare day if I don’t have a packet of crisps .
Fingers crossed on the 57

Thisimmortalcurl · 24/03/2019 09:13

A mid 😂.. a kid !

Eattothebeat · 24/03/2019 09:52

Wow well done curl - you are going great guns.

Ended up going out last night and eating a drinking way too much but trying not to eat myself better today and make half decent food choices. Just trying to get a green smoothie down me in case it helps.
I'll be back on it 100% tomorrow though!

Whereareyouspot · 24/03/2019 09:54

Well I’m heartened that you can lose despite the carbs as not a hope I can give them up!

I love kallo lentil cakes have you tried them?

I’ve just done an 8 mile run (normally about 12-15 on a Sunday but we have plans) and will avoid eating until hunger properly
Kicks in later on.

Onwards troops!
Immortal you are our general!

luckylips · 24/03/2019 10:08

Well done @Thisimmortalcurl, I can only dream of being in the 8 bracket 😂

@Whereareyouspot 👏 on the run!

I need a good day today after yesterday!

Thisimmortalcurl · 24/03/2019 11:54

I’m really short Luckylips.
I know this week from wed to Friday will not be in any way good . I’m really going to try just to keep the blow out for Thursday but I have a spa day with my middle daughter on wed , then drinks at night , then the much awaited takeaway with wine on Thursday and I have a work night out with buffet on Friday . I need to be really on track these next three days.
I will try those lentil ones Whereareyou , they sound nice

Whereareyouspot · 24/03/2019 13:14

Spa day should be way as they usually do really decent healthy light meals like tasty salads. Have lovely fizzy water with lemon instead of the fruit juices.

If I have a big evening meal planned I try really hard to minimise intake all that day. Then two big glasses of water before I leave the house. Also (and I know this is bad) if I drink Diet Coke with the meal it fills me up!

If drinks can be chosen then vodka or gin with slimline tonic can be a good choice.

58.7 for me today after three big coffees and brunch. It will bounce up again but despite the yo-yoing I think I’m seeing a downward trend from the 61kg and I haven’t registered over 60 for two weeks at all.

Finger crossed.

I’m 5ft5 and a bit but I’m built fairly solidly so don’t carry weight well. I have skinny arms and lower legs but a brick shaped body with decent sized thighs.

I’d love a waist. Even when I was about 52kg I measured a 29” waist and now I’m a 30” at best.

beela · 24/03/2019 19:35

Evening everyone.

immortal fab going, well done! Your three days later this week sound great. I am planning on eating a lot of cake on mothering sunday next weekend so could do with being sensible in advance of that.

I've grazed a bit too much this weekend, once I give myself permission to do it a little bit then it all goes downhill. It's just a handful of raisins here and a slice of cheese there, but it all adds up and I'd probably be better off just having a proper snack on a plate all in one go.

luckylips · 24/03/2019 20:00

Today wasn't bad but wasn't 100% on track. Always find it harder at the weekend. Went out and walked in the lovely sunshine with DS in some lovely fields near our house so I think I've done my 10,000 steps today!

Must dig out my Fitbit!

Eattothebeat · 25/03/2019 07:08

Another clean slate for everyone today! My Sunday wasn't great as I had too much to drink on Saturday night but I'm back on it with a vengeance now. Will try and get in som exercise too. Have a good week everyone.

twobambinos · 25/03/2019 09:21

Everyone is doing great it seems congrats on keeping on track.
I fell off the thread but have been dieting away in the background. Weighed in today at 10st 2. I'm happy with that. Can't wait to break into the next stone down but exercise has been non existent after a few weeks of bad health and the energy levels are still very poor so not sure it will happen this week either.

The chinese sounds lovely. I have a dinner Saturday night that I am looking forward to and then of course Sunday will be a day of treats Grin for the day that's in it.

@thisimmortal Well done 8st 8 sounds like a lovely number. I don't think I was ever that. I say my happy weight is 9stone but I truly think I believed I was big at 9st the last time I was there and don't know if I'll ever see it again either Grinwhat is your goal

luckylips · 25/03/2019 09:36

Well done @twobambinos, you're so close to the next stone bracket!

Weighed in slightly higher because of the weekend so going to put it off till later in the week 😆

Had a milky coffee for breakfast, will have some yog and fruit if needed before lunch, planning chicken and vegetables for lunch and bean chilli for dinner. Made a vat of it last week and it needs finishing!
