Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

I'm in! I have just over a stone to lose!

maloofhoof · 14/03/2019 19:05

Whereareyouspot problem is I've got two teens, so I feel mean if I don't have some treats in for them. I'm debating giving them their weekly rations and making them hide them in their rooms away from me haha.

Eattothebeat · 14/03/2019 19:14

I buy my teens snacks that I don't like (penguin biscuits - can't stand them) and those weird healthy low fat crisp things that are corrugated. I also don't like mint club biscuits so must get some more of those in for them. Luckily they are not fussy about snacks as long as there are some.
Great idea weighing a day early Caggie. I am thinking about postponing my weigh in until next Friday as despite being pretty good all week I still don't feel like I've lost anything - I think it could be hormones. I have no nights out planned this weekend - just a couple of lunches but for some reason I am more sensible during the day - so hopefully by next Friday all will be moving in the right direction. I also have a duathalon this weekend which will burn off a bit more lard hopefully.

maloofhoof · 14/03/2019 19:26

I don't think there's a single biscuit, chocolate or crisp that I don't like 😂 I'll have a look when I do the food shop and see if I can get my least favourite.

Thisimmortalcurl · 14/03/2019 20:14

I was still the same this morning which means I haven’t so far lost any this week really , just got rid of the gain from last Friday . I’m really not sure cal wise today .. I was going to eat a low cal dinner but ended up having a roast ... not that much but still prob not great.

Eattothebeat · 15/03/2019 06:36

maloofhoof - penguins aren't that nice - a bit cheap and nasty and not proper chocolate.
I braved the non digital scales this morning and I appear to have reversed most of the damage done last weekend but they only give me a vague idea as they aren't very accurate. I will get back on the digital ones next Friday when I've had another week to be good.
I am going to stick my neck out and say that by this time next Friday I would like to be under 9 stone. This probably won't happen but it's good to have a goal in mind Grin

beela · 15/03/2019 09:38

Weigh in day for me - 60.7kg. Up slightly from last week, but down on my post-weekend weigh in.

So my targets are to be a bit more mindful this weekend, and to make next Friday the day that I crack 60kg.

MorrisZapp · 15/03/2019 09:45

Not to be smug but I've hit the zone. I'm actually enjoying the pre bed hungry feeling. Each day I'm excited to hop on the scales first thing.

Results are by far the greatest inspiration!

Thisimmortalcurl · 15/03/2019 15:38

That’s brilliant Morris 😁
I feel hugely irritated today and I would live above anything else to order a lovely takeaway and have a bottle of wine .
However I’m going to try my best not to.
Scales the same as per 8/10 .. feeling really fed up .

Eattothebeat · 15/03/2019 15:39

Well done for getting back down from where you were after the weekend beela and Nice Work MorrisZapp (did you see what I did there!) I am also in the zone and it feels great!

MorrisZapp · 15/03/2019 22:23

YAY for the fellow Lodge fan! :)

waistaway · 15/03/2019 23:08

Hi, OK if I join you? Eattothebeat recommended you all. I'm trying to lose half a stone over the next 6 weeks. I'm 10st7 and want to get to 10st for a work weekend thing at the end of April. In an ideal world I'd lose another 7lbs after that also. I have the usual problems-mid 40s, habitual snacker, not going to fit in any of my clothes if I don't reign it in. I'll try to read the thread over the weekend.

Eattothebeat · 16/03/2019 06:39

Welcome aboard waistaway - and that's a great user name.
morris I read his books years ago and loved them but had virtually forgotten about them until I saw your user name.
Well I am still persevering and apologise for hogging up a lot of this thread with my diet related musings but being on here and reporting in keeps me focused. I am having lunch out with friends today and will be fairly restrained but will also need to do a bit of carb loading for my duathlon tomorrow. On Monday I will be really going for it as it's only a month until we head off for sunnier climes for Easter and the bikini will be getting its first airing of the year (and I am also watching a brand new Elizabeth Hurley bikini on ebay which is a bit of a bargain so hopefully that will be coming along too!) I am also going to try lifting some heavy weights between now and then because everything I read seems to point towards that as the best way of getting in shape (which is a bit annoying as I've been slogging away at the old cardio for the last ten years and never thought to pick up a weight until recently). Hope everyone has a restrained weekend!

Caggie09 · 16/03/2019 06:55

Yesterday was a good day. Day 3 of 30 day shred done and the gym. I feel ive pushed myself when i leave the gym with a bright red sweaty face!

Weighed this morning and it looks like im back up t0 9st 12, just washed my hair hoping the wet hair added them lbs on!

beela · 16/03/2019 07:51

eattothebeat but this thread is for diet related musings! A holiday is a great incentive, particularly a holiday where you will be wearing a bikini.

caggie shred and the gym?? It's one or the other for me! I did a 30 minute Joe Wicks hiit session yesterday, was only going to do a 15 minute one but I knew I was going to be eating cake later on so made myself power on through (and I thoroughly enjoyed my slice of cake as well).

I'm taking a new approach this weekend, I usually lose the plot a bit and treat Monday as a new start but I am now weighing in on a Friday so actually today is the start of my new diet week. I'm getting quite cross with my 60kg barrier so I will use the crossness to beat it!

Eattothebeat · 17/03/2019 05:12

beela I know but the majority are mine! And agree that a bikini helps concentrate the mind. Good idea to weigh on a Friday and treat Saturday as the start of the week as weekends for me are usually licence to over eat.
caggie well done with the 30 day shred - I'm sure if you keep it up the results will come.
Well I wasn't great yesterday as was carb loading for my duathlon today and as usual I took it as an opportunity to eat way too much. I am allowing myself today off too due to the amount of calories I'll hopefully be burning and then I will be back on it with a vengeance tomorrow.
How is everyone else getting on?

Whereareyouspot · 17/03/2019 07:27

I’ve gone a bit off plan- starting grazing again.

Need to be strict about the eating times
I’ve realised I’ve havent felt hungry at all for days as I’m grazing and snacking.
When I was sticking to meals I was properly belly rumbling hungry at last twice a day

Haven’t bothered weighing!

EmmaBell88 · 17/03/2019 08:04

Terrible first week for me! I probably chose the worst week to start, on holiday from work and plans to meet up with a couple of friends.....start fresh tomorrow 🙈 hopefully better things to report this week! @Eattothebeat I'm happy to hear your musings on here, I would write more this week but after Wednesday I pretty much wasn't dieting at all this week whoops!

Iamnobirdandnonetensnaresme · 17/03/2019 11:21

Morning

10st 8 this morning so 2.6llb loss so far.
Happy with that.
Made some very tasty potato things with periperi chicken last night.
Sliced the potato so that it was intact on the bottom half but had lots of slices on the top, covered it in fry light and baked- comes out crispy on the top and baked on the bottom. Very yummy

waistaway · 17/03/2019 13:47

I did pilates yesterday and just got back from a 90 minute hill walk so exercise is off to a good start. I didn't graze all night last night but I did have toast around 11 as I was genuinely starving. It was probably less calories than my usual Sat. treat of crisps and cider would have been though. I'm going to weigh in Monday and Friday for the next 6 weeks.

Eattothebeat · 17/03/2019 19:03

Great day of fresh air and lots of exercise but have more than eaten back all the exercise calories I burned off as we went to pizza express this afternoon and ate loads of calorific delights. At least there was no excessive alcohol consumption this weekend so that means I can get the week off to a better start than last week when I over indulged on prosecco.
Anyway we all get a clean slate for tomorrow so let's have a big push in the run up to Easter!

beela · 17/03/2019 19:51

A moderate weekend here, and a big gardening session this morning so I'm pretty pleased with myself Halo but still not weighing until Friday.

Yes to the Easter push! I fully intend to enjoy my easter chocolate so it would be lovely to be in credit before then.

Caggie09 · 18/03/2019 07:35

We seemed to have quite a good weekend overall then!
I ate quite abit of chocolate yesterday, probably over my calories. But im not to fussed, i enjoyed it!! Todays a new daySmile
My leg ache from the doing the shred has gone, its now moved onto my "ab" area. Makes it easier for me to actually bend over now😂 Will be hitting the gym after work. Hope everyone has a good week!

beela · 18/03/2019 07:47

Starting as I mean to go on this week... I'm heading to the gym straight after the school run this morning so I've had one slice of wholemeal toast to keep me going - with marmite, not jam! I must kick this terrible sugar habit of mine.

Whereareyouspot · 18/03/2019 09:16

I had great intentions then one of the DC was hingrybon way to school and had a bite of a nutty cereal bar....which meant I ate the rest on the drive back home

Ugh
Why do I have zero self control

Anyway I am counting it as breakfast and resolute that I won’t pick or nibble or eat until lunch

I am still basically 59kg and would love the scales to start showing 58.

I have maintained some better habits and let others slide back so I need to refocus.
