Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

Morning, weighed in at 8/10 this morning and pleased with that. I can’t describe how tempted I was last night to have a chilli and cheese toastie with crisps on the side ... and watching my husband eat his was green inducing.
Anyway I didn’t and I’m the same weight as I was on Friday which is good for me. I did have wine though.
I bought some no alcohol prosecco but can’t really find how many cals are in it.. anyone know?
On a side note anyone else watched Afterlife ? It’s really really good .
Mini aim by Friday is 8/8 . It’s only two pounds but for some reason feels

Thisimmortalcurl · 11/03/2019 09:51

“ posted to soon”
Much less achievable. Not sure why .
Hears to a great week fellow slimmers .

Iamnobirdandnonetensnaresme · 11/03/2019 10:14

Morning happy today as the scale said I'm 1lb lighter at 10st9.4.
Started today with over night oats again.
Bless my DD she tried to make me tea with my milk allowance but got muddled and tried to use the whole lot in one cup! Milky water anyone?

twobambinos · 11/03/2019 10:56

Good morning everyone and welcome to all the new joiners. Its good to have so many posting means there's always updates.
Well done @Thisimmortalcurl and @lamno on the losses.

I weighed this morning and the same as Friday 10st 4 which is fine with me after the weekend I had. Just after a cup of tea for breakfast not terribly hungry today so will try hold out for lunch now.

@beela sounds good more water less sugar here too. Here's hoping for a loss this week.

EmmaBell88 · 11/03/2019 16:13

Does anyone else find they really struggle around 3-4pm?? Confused had a little snack and trying to keep myself busy but I just want to binge! Also I have a staff meeting tonight where there will be lots of nice goodies to eat, I don't know how I'm going to resist temptation....will be really frustrated with myself if I can't make it past day 1 though

beela · 11/03/2019 16:36

Yes, me! Actually 5-6 is my worst time I think. Just the right time to start picking at the dc's leftover tea. Maybe I just need to eat with them instead of waiting for DH to get home and eating later.

luckylips · 11/03/2019 16:37

Weighed 11st 3 this morning which is good as I had a good filled weekend but bad cause it's the weight I started at when I started dieting in January so I'm not sure what I've been doing the last 3 months of 'dieting' 😂

EmmaBell88 · 11/03/2019 16:50

I usually have my tea around 5-6 @beela , but I have to go to bed around 8 to stop me eating more Hmm I've tried pushing all my meals to slightly later in the day but I still end up eating tea at that time!

Eattothebeat · 11/03/2019 17:09

I often get in from work and am so famished I feel like a wild animal! I am extra hungry today as I ate lots of bad stuff at the weekend and it's given me a massive appetite. I have succumbed to a couple of slices of brown bread but kept away from the worst carbs. Hopefully tomorrow should see my appetite reducing back to normal and I've got no big nights out this weekend so hopefully won't get derailed as easily. Onwards!

mustdrinkwaternotwine · 11/03/2019 18:00

1lb on for me over the weekend but I'm hoping that that will disappear over the next day or so as I'm feeling very bloated. Or I may stay like this for ten days or so until I get my period.
For those who get the home from work munchies, one trick I was told - and which worked for me - was to have a "just before leaving work" substantial snack. I used to have a hard boiled egg, some oatcakes & some chopped up veg which was easy to put together when making packed lunch for the DC and stopped me attacking the fridge as soon as I got home. Having that, meant I could last until I ate with DH around 8pm. I've phased it out over the last few weeks but still have some emergency supplies at work so I can have something before I leave if I think I need to.

user1469743448 · 11/03/2019 18:04

So far so good today
Entering danger zone though as TV & couch calling ! Tried really hard to get the water in so spent a lot of time in bathroom today 😁
Glad to hear we all doing well so far

Thisimmortalcurl · 11/03/2019 19:16

Not bad so far , met my eldest daughter for lunch and we went to Zizzi’s . They have an under 600 cal range , I had a skinny pizza and salad which was about 530 cals . Really lovely . I had a boiled egg on crispbreads for tea . Going to try my alcohol free prosecco tonight , I think it might be around 150 cals per bottle but not entirely sure.

Crazybunnylady123 · 11/03/2019 20:56

First day done. Simple food nice and easy but feeling hungry and want to snack. Going for a cup of tea instead of food!
Replaced milk with oat substitute in my tea and been drinking water.

beela · 11/03/2019 21:00

Oh dear. I did so well today, then made some flapjacks for after school snacks for the dc, then ate them. Well, only one. And it was full of nuts and seeds and good stuff but, I imagine, also full of calories.

However, my fitbit tells me that I have burnt over 2000 calories so far today, and I'm sure I haven't eaten that much, even with the (very nutritious) flapjack.

I'll drink a bit more water before bed.

MorrisZapp · 11/03/2019 21:10

I've had a loss! Needle hovering just under 11 stone today for first time in ages. Chuffed with that.

Unfortunately I've had a bit of anxiety, not sure why but think it's related to a change at work. The anxiety stops me eating but it's hardly a healthy approach.

I've increased my dose of sertraline and hope to head it off. Ideally, I'll be losing weight but without these blimmin anxiety spasms. Horrid!

Eattothebeat · 12/03/2019 07:35

Well done morriszapp and any other losers! I feel I've deflated a bit overnight after the weekend of indulgence and hopefully this will continue until Friday when I brave the scales to see if I've managed to get back to where I was last Friday. I do feel aggrieved that a couple of big meals and a few glasses of fizz can undo a couple of weeks of hard work but then I guess that's why nearly every woman I know is unfortunately having to battle her weight. The other day I was walking through town and thinking about how hard dieting was and so I had a look to see how many people I passed appeared to be a normal weight and how many people looked to be overweight. Nearly everyone I saw looked overweight and then I saw a very slim lady coming towards me and noticed she was smoking which seems to be how a lot of slim people stay slim. I know when we go on holiday to Spain that all the people with enviable figures seem to have a cigarette on the go most of the time. This is just a social observation by the way - not a criticism of anyone and not a recommendation for anyone to start smoking either! It just seems that controlling our food intake is very hard and so some people suppress their appetite by smoking.

mustdrinkwaternotwine · 12/03/2019 08:14

Well done, Morris.
I agree, Eat. One enjoyable meal can destroy so much work. I think a lot of it is to do with sedentary lifestyles but also TV. You see all these programmes & as where people are out enjoying food & drink and you think that's the norm. Social media plays a part too. People only ever post pictures of amazing looking meals or them enjoying cocktails - not the night they're at home eating celery and drinking water.
I need to get back on it. Meals were fine yesterday but loads of things slipped in - a handful of grapes, a party ring, a few smarties. All of which are enough to stop me from losing weight.

twobambinos · 12/03/2019 09:20

Well done @Morris it's great when you see the next stone isn't it.

I've just had the breakfast of kings I'd say 600 kcal. Itll be soup for lunch and dinner Grin

@beela the flapjack sounds really nutritious. And yummy

Iamnobirdandnonetensnaresme · 12/03/2019 11:24

Food diary is the way to go.
Write down everything that goes in your mouth.

It really does help focus you.
If I don't then I'll forget I had that biscuit with my tea at 10 and think a couple(haha) of smarties won't hurt I've been good today.

Also I need to change that mindset of good/bad eating.

rainydogday · 12/03/2019 12:36

So.....the fast from 8pm till 11 am is going well. Think I am at 4 lb lost in 2 weeks. Slow progress but think if I can make small changes ie late but healthy breakfast and less snacking it will be easier to maintain. As it is a permanent change if you see what I mean?! I have full fat yoghurt with flaked almonds & sunflower seeds. Then a healthy soup or light lunch. Fruit for snack and healthy tea. It's the evening cup of tea with loads of biscuits I struggle with!

Thisimmortalcurl · 12/03/2019 21:39

Well done Morris and rainy day .
I think I’m on about 950 today , was 8/10 this morning . As per I’m sitting thinking about the crisps in the kitchen.
Christ this is boring eh

beela · 12/03/2019 22:12

Back to the comment upthread about one big meal undoing a couple of weeks work...

I really want to overshoot my target by a couple of lb so that I've got them in hand for a blow out! Like losing a few lb before a holiday so that any overindulgence just takes you back to where you want/are happy to be, rather than spending the next couple of weeks trying to get back down.

Easier said than done though.

I'm doing OK so far this week, I'd say 95% on track. I'll wait and see what the scales have to say on Friday.

notevenamum1 · 12/03/2019 22:47

Hi all sorry I’ve been off the radar. Come down with horrible food poisoning and been spewing my guts up for the past 2 days 😭😭😭 it’s been awful. Really can’t stomsch eating anything which is so unlike me so if I’ve not lost at least half a stone I’m going to be livid 😂 sounds like you’re all doing super well. Keep it up!

Iamnobirdandnonetensnaresme · 12/03/2019 22:57

I'm in cake competition mode - making my piece so that stops me snacking in the evening and basically whenever I'm working on it.
So down time is my downfall - must keep busy to loose weight.

Eattothebeat · 13/03/2019 06:58

A good day yesterday and I feel that I've deflated further. I agree with beela about going a couple of pounds lighter than target and then it won't matter when you have a blow out. Obviously the really tricky bit is getting to target and then getting a couple of pounds under but it's a good goal to have! I have no big nights out planned this weekend or next which is great because alcohol plus hangover eating is the worst thing for me - it's one dieting step forward through the week and two dieting steps backwards at the weekend.
