Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

Weighed in at 9 stone and 1.5 pounds this morning which I'm pleased with however I have a night out to an Italian restaurant tonight with a group of women who like to eat and drink a lot so it could be tricky. Any attempts at low carbing will have to be discreet as one or two of them love to point it out if anyone appears to be not joining in with eating as much as everyone else is by "diet shaming" them. Then a night out with the husband tomorrow night which will include lots of wine so I imagine by Monday my weight will be back up to about 9 stone 5 but I'm going to enjoy feeling slimmer for a day!!!

So last week i was 10st 1, today im 9st 12. I want to move as far away as possible from thar 10st mark!! Ive knocked my calories down on mfp to 1230, as i was doing 1450 before hand. I will see if it makes a difference.

I carry my weight on my stomach and face mainly (well they are the places I really notice it when I gain weight) - I'm a bit of an apple with skinny legs. How about you?

Brilliant @Eatknthebeat, enjoy the feeling slim.
I’m pleased today, scales said 8/10 so reached my aim for today , I was at 745 cals yesterday and went to bed about 9pm so no alohol.
I started this on wed 27 th so that’s from 9/2 to 8/10 in 10 days .. I think that 5lbs?
This week with periods and initial water weight always looks more than any other week but if I can aim for a 2lb loss every week from now I would be more than happy with that.
I’m not going to drink much tonight 🤞, it’s my birthday at the end of the month and if I could get to my aim by then it would make the getting older that bit easier.

I’m going to disappear as I’m feeling really despondent and like I just need to accept being bigger.
I can’t do very restrictive eating it makes me miserable but I see that all my changes will just keep me stable and to actually lose I need drastic measures I can’t do.

I was using kg not stones as I couldn’t actually face a direct calculation and then someone did one up thread and altho I knew deep down it upset me so much as I realise I used to be half a stone lighter (although if truth be told I wasn’t healthy then in the way I managed my weight)

Whereareyouspot I'm not doing very restrictive eating either as it's just not sustainable for me. I joined the thread for a little bit of accountability to myself more than anything. I think there are a good mix of aims here.

I'm aiming for bmi of 25 first off which is about 5 pounds away and then just to get a bit into the healthier range. I have a wardrobe of size 10 and 12 that don't fit postbaby.

Well done to the recent losers.

Also like the mindfully eating delicious things idea!

@whereareyouspot , just keep doing what you can manage . I have times that I binge or just say fuck it to the bottle of wine , calorific sandwich and family size crisps on the way home from work .. it’s life .
When I was trying to lose two stone I set much smaller targets of five pound and then would treat myself to something, not necessarily food but a new book etc.

whereareyouspot please don't feel despondent. Low carbing was life changing for me and although it's very restrictive in some ways it's incredibly liberating in others as you can eat delicious foods in any quantity you like. Last night I had an enormous bowl of chilli with grated cheese, guacamole and sour cream but I made it without kidney beans and not much tomato - just tons of onions, peppers and mushrooms and finely chopped celery along with the minced steak. I also added lots of garlic and cumin and coriander and it's delicious and very filling. I didn't have rice with it but that's never an issue for me. There are many dishes like that that you can have in unlimited quantities when you low carb.

This is the thing though I like healthy food and I never ever want to eat cheese or chips or drink wine.
And I haven’t said fuck it once an eaten crap and I’ve eaten less I really have and yet I’ve lost not a thing!

Sorry whereareyouspot I didn't mean to imply you'd gone about things the wrong way either. I guess for me I've found a way of losing weight that is more of a pleasure than a pennance and I'm full of enthusiasm for it. I feel so bad for you that you've worked really hard at it for no loss on the scales. Please stick around as we're all going to have good weeks and bad weeks and this time next week you may be feeling completely different whereas I will probably have fallen head first into a vat of ben & jerrys xx

spot don't worry, just keep at it and you will see the results. Have you tried measurements rather than weight? Or even just how your clothes fit? (I'm sure my slightly tight work trousers felt better yesterday, but won't weigh in again until next week).

There's also the whoosh - sometimes you can plateau for ages, then lose a couple of lb overnight.

@Eattothebeat, im more pear shape. Massive hips, fat arse and thighs😂 i feel like i have a fat face though!

For the people saying they want to throw in the towel, dont do it. I know its easier said than done. But i know when i think fuck it im not doing it anymore, i feel shit later on thinking if i stuck to it then, id be closer to my goal now and not have to restart!

2017 i went from 12st 7 Blush to 9st 8 or 9. I could never push past that 9st 7 mark. So i stopped trying, id do it for a week or a month then fuck it off. Now im back again, trying to push past that 9st 7. I really think over thinking things makes me wobble. Please stay, ive only just joined😥

Night out last night. Drank more than intended (glass kept getting topped up) and have spent the day eating carbs & crap. Just about to go out again. At least I won't drink tonight as feel too rotten. And have a quiet weekend so hopefully can fit in a couple of trips to the gym and control what I eat.
