Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

I've done ok today and also done a HIIT workout. Weekdays I tend to be quite motivated but for me weekends are where the wheels always come off. I am determined to get in to the stone below in the next 10 days as I have an important event coming up.

beela · 06/03/2019 22:28

Today was mainly good for me too, I stuck to 3 sensible meals (plus one oreo and one digestive biscuit, they weren't part of the plan) and I swam a few extra lengths than normal this evening too.

Thursdays are where it usually starts going wrong for me, so I need to really concentrate tomorrow! Salad is already prepped for lunch and I think I'll make some overnight oats for breakfast before I go to bed. Hope everyone else has a good day tomorrow. Nearly the weekend Smile

Eattothebeat · 07/03/2019 05:28

Feeling positive this morning. Going to try and fit in as much exercise as I can today to try and move the weight loss along as I get very impatient for results when I'm on a diet. Annoyingly I'm good at gaining weight very quickly - I can easily pack on 7 pounds over a couple of days and yet it can take me weeks to get if off again.

Whereareyouspot · 07/03/2019 07:01

@Eattothebeat I think we all feel that at middle age- so so frustrating how easily it is to gain and what immense effort it is to shift any!

Good luck everyone today as it sounds like Thursday is the start of the trickier section of the week for many.
Focus on this being about sustainable change and how those small changes will all come together to make us look fabulous in our summer shorts!

I’m ticking over- staying away from my triggers. Feeling hungry before meals ach day at least twice which is a big change for me.
Have only been to bed feeling less than full once and didn’t like it so it’s meant I’m ‘allowing’ myself to do a bit of piss me evening over eating but no carbs stuff and am stopping by8pm so it is better than it was

In fact someone up thread said something that stuck with me last two days that even if I’m not eating perfectly I’m most definitely eating less than I was so even if no huge loss I will have gained less!!

Whereareyouspot · 07/03/2019 07:02

Piss me evening over eating? Blush
Sorry! That was meant to be possible!

It’s like @Thisimmortalcurl ‘s long shit!!!

Caggie09 · 07/03/2019 07:55

I feel very bloated this morning, i ate quite alot of cabbage last night. Maybe its that?🙈 I didnt get to the gym yesterday, i really need to go. Will go this afternoon.
Im not following slimming world, but in a group on Facebook that has really good receipe ideas, so ordered myself the cook book! Weigh day tomorrow and hoping for a decent loss as it my first "proper" week being good!

nervousFTM · 07/03/2019 08:03

Can I join? 9.5 and want to be 8.3 but happy with 8.7.

Gave birth at 35 weeks (10.10 at peak) and dropped to 9.5 within two weeks but then weight went back up by about 5-6lbs and has only recently come back down.

Lent started yesterday and I'm attempting to give up refined sugar but I also need to control snacking. I'm taking in about 2,500 cals a day (still exclusively breastfeeding but no excuse) - have been exercising daily since baby was 5 days old but this doesn't seem to make a difference so it's definitely the food!

Good luck everyone x

Whereareyouspot · 07/03/2019 08:43

Bloody hell im back up to 60.1kg Confused

Honestly I’ve been good overall and very different eating patterns to where I was

Period started this morning but it can’t make that much difference can it?
Over last 10 days-
Was 60.7 then 59.7 then 59 then 59.7 now 60.1

FFS why do I bother?!

Thisimmortalcurl · 07/03/2019 10:39

Welcome nervous .. wow , that is an amazing weight post baby do soon. We are both looking for the same numbers on the scales!
Whereareyou.. my period does make a big difference, i always gain and then by the 3 rd or fourth day in have a little woosh and it comes off. Even though it’s been like that for years it’s hard to keep going and not just have a treat four days cause I’m always starving on my period .
I’m off work today so slightly easier , day 3 off period and weight remains 8/11. Hopefully the combo off being within cals today and being the 4 th day of AF will mean I get my mini target of 8/10 tomorrow fingers crossed.
Although tomorrow night I have a quite informal 50 th .. I’m working on the sat so can’t go to wild but there will be prosecco and food .. I think I might take those cans off gin and slim with me but I know we will all end up out for dinner with wine .
Someone else mentioned if they would just like to avoid social stuff whilst dieting and that’s how I’m feeling today , I don’t want to rewind being semi good since last Friday but if I don’t eat enough I’ll get really drunk and really hungover 🤷‍♀️

Whereareyouspot · 07/03/2019 15:38

@Thisimmortal curl I’m not sure AF can be responsible for a skill and a half butniop hang in there!!

I’d happily settle on 8’11 so if you were me you would be done! What are you aiming for?

beela · 07/03/2019 16:30

8 stone anything seems teeny tiny to me. What bmi are you all aiming for? 58kg, which is a bit over 9 stone, would put me at a bmi of around 22.

Thisimmortalcurl · 07/03/2019 16:31

It def does make a difference for me though .
Aiming for 8/3 really . I went from 10/1 to 7/12 from April 2017 - September 2017 but below 8 was a bit ageing I think .

rainydogday · 07/03/2019 17:19

My fast800 not going so well. But.... I have made a change. Instead of cereals I have yogurt, and have breakfast much later. So have that fast from the night before. Also trying cut out naughty snacks. Going to weigh on a Tuesday. Gave up on daily weighing as a bit depressing

O4FS · 07/03/2019 17:22

I’ve stuck to 800 but haven’t stuck to the Mediterranean principles so disappointingly haven’t lost this week. It’s very frustrating.

Went to 1000 cals today as I had a hot cross bun and butter. Still counted and weighed it. And enjoyed it immensely.

I’ve wanted to eat all day because I haven’t had enough protein.

Hairy bikers doner kebabs for dinner tonight.

notevenamum1 · 07/03/2019 17:33

Another 250 cals over today. What’s wrong with me :( all caused by a glass of wine and crisps as well! Problem is I bulk made both lunches and dinner this week and I have disliked them both so feel like I need some sort of joy from somewhere

notevenamum1 · 07/03/2019 17:37

@O4FS have you done 800 cals all week but not lost any weight within those 7 days?? If that’s true then there’s no hope for the rest of us!

O4FS · 07/03/2019 17:43

Not at the weekend - that was between 1000-1200.

Checking back on MFP I’ve lost 2.5 pounds this week, but nothing the last couple of days. It’s that thing where it starts off well with big losses butbthey aren’t sustainable. I should be happy I guess.

Also, I have another stone to go. Half way through and it feels like such an effort for little results.

I’m going to go back to Eating how I did in the first week. Very little by way of carbs and using the calories wisely (not on Frazzles)

O4FS · 07/03/2019 17:45

Half a pound off since Monday.

Caggie09 · 07/03/2019 17:46

Well, im getting a chinese tonight, so i failed today. Hopefully doesnt affect WI tomorrow morning!

mustdrinkwaternotwine · 07/03/2019 17:50

Off out for a work dinner tonight & then a lunch tomorrow so am bound to eat & drink a bit more than I otherwise would but it will all be delicious so there will be some benefits. I did go to the gym this morning & will after work tomorrow.
I had to try on swimwear today and my bum (whilst still being hideously wobbly and cellulite-y) is noticeably smaller than it was in Jan. Inch loss and weight loss don't always correspond in my experience so I had to remind myself to look at both rather than just the number on the scales.

helenb706 · 07/03/2019 18:01

Hooray... I have had a crap day too. We all got off to such a good start but are collectively struggling. It isn't a sprint though... we are on a marathon (obviously not a snickers variety for those old enough to remember). Tomorrow I try again rather than throw in the towel.

OP posts:
O4FS · 07/03/2019 18:25

Maybe we should just have a ‘mindfully eating delicious things’ thread instead 😄

notevenamum1 · 07/03/2019 19:21

Hahaha I like the sound of the mindfully raging delcious things! I have managed to reign it in by not having my planner shepherds pie for dinner and having a large salad instead so I’m 0 calories over but have ate a cookie, packet of crisps, slice or cheese and glass of wine today so not great at all on the nutrition front. Realised how much I enjoy a salad so maybe next week I need to keep my meals simpler

Eattothebeat · 07/03/2019 20:31

Well today I've done a couple of hours exercise and eaten fairly moderately with the odd minor blip. I'm hoping that tomorrow morning's weigh in brings a happy result. I've actually had a preliminary weigh in on my old fashioned non digital scales and the result looked encouraging so I will brave the super accurate digital ones tomorrow.

For anyone who's gained or stayed the same, please don't be disheartened - just keep going and it will pay off eventually.

For me low carbing is the only way as once I stop eating carbs my appetite is massively reduced so I don't actually have to resist things. Carby/sugary foods just make you crave more of the same and people mistakenly think they're hungry when what they actually are is addicted to sugar/carbs and their body wants another fix. Sorry if you know all of this already but I am writing it in the hope that it might just help someone who is struggling.

Whereareyouspot · 07/03/2019 22:53

I’m stil super fed up about what the scales are saying but I’ve been sensible all day and stopped eating at 7.30pm (hungry now!)

Despite hectic work day I avoided any crap and did walk 17k steps despite no actual exercise.
I haven’t had a non exercise day for weeks but needed it today

I’ll give it another week and if no weight loss I need to do more than I am.
I guess I’m still pleased I’ve cut out all the crappy carbs and the snacking in the day.
