Hi everyone!

I’m starting a VLCD (Slim and Save) on 1st Jan and wondering is anyone starting too? Or Cambridge, Exabte etc and maybe we could keep each other motivated?

Kittens, just ask him, for while you are on plan, not to drink at home. I had to do that with dp for cakes and crisps lol! Chocs and sweets are fine, it is the smell of the cake which makes me weak at the knees Grin

We are All doing amazingly! This thread is really motivating me!

Eliza9917 · 07/01/2019 09:39

What sausage is this that you speak of Eliza? I bloody love a sausage! What plan are you doing?

It's old stock I've had for ages, they discontinued it unfortunately.

I'm on 3 packs a day and might add in a salad/bit of protein as I'm going to the gym.

It's day 1 again for me today. I decided to start properly today as I'm back at work today and can get in to a proper routine now.

I did 50 mins on the treadmill this morning, burnt 250 calories and MIGHT go back for a half hour swim after work. I'll see how I feel later.

Day 1 - 14st 12lb 8oz

CookPassBabtridge · 07/01/2019 09:46

This is the only way that works for me as I'm a binge eater and I love the controlled aspect of this. I have two shakes, a bar and a low carb healthy meal every day. I do 'shake that weight' and have lost two stone since 30th november.

Kittensgalore · 07/01/2019 10:23

Thanks Eliza, I scoured the web looking for the VLCD version of Sausages and couldn't find anything so figured it must have been discontinued. I love veggie sausages and you'd think that wouldn't be too hard to recreate.

I had no idea there were so many different companies doing VLCD's, big money I guess. It is really annoying when stuff is out of stock or discontinued though. I had a gooey chocolate pudding thing yesterday that was actually really good so went to look if I could order some more and nothing like it on the website, very annoying. Ended up buying something completely different which I really don't need as have huge number of packets left over from last year to get through!

Happy Monday everyone!!

Kittensgalore · 07/01/2019 10:32

Two stone since November is brilliant Cook, especially with Christmas and all. I binge as well, it is totally emotionally driven, stressed from work, stressed from kids fighting, stressed about blooming anything and I reach into the fridge/food cupboard. I know exactly what and why I'm doing it as I do it but I still do it!!! So need to find other healthier coping mechanisms whilst I'm doing this or it won't work.

Day, I know I should just ask him not to and I will but I don't think he will do it, but he could at least do it less obviously. He has already bought a bottle of fizz for the end of the month that was on offer. Thankfully I'm not remotely interested in the idea of drinking just now.

Eliza9917 · 07/01/2019 10:55

@kittensgalore Exante had huge problems last year with their stock. There was barely anything in stock for ages. I think it got a bit better around autumn but not sure what it's like now (I've got loads of products so haven't been on there). But loads of things never came back. Its a shame because the sausage is lovely.

rainbowgrimm · 07/01/2019 14:11

Anyone want to talk about why they're doing this to help with motivation?
I need to lose weight in order to have IVF, we have DD5 but had 3losses since, the last of which was really difficult and means we can't get pregnant naturally any more.
I also don't want DD to have the shit relationship with food that I have. I've tried 'normal' diets a million times and it just doesn't work for me, I think because of my (previousWink) need to use food for comfort - and my god there's been some shit over the last few years that chocolate has helped me through.

I also want to wear all the nice clothes, all of them!

lexie555 · 07/01/2019 14:13

hi. 1st day back on exante today. kinda gave up and failed last time😢😢but determined to stick to it this time. start weight 12st 3lb at 5ft 7, Want to lose 2st 3 lbs first but idealy 3st 3 lbs. wish me luck🤗

lexie555 · 07/01/2019 14:15

think the turning point for me was christmas time when all my friends went out a few times and i stayed at home because i felt to fat😔😔

lexie555 · 07/01/2019 14:16

and of course i stuffed my face while sitting at home😔

rainbowgrimm · 07/01/2019 14:34

Good luck Lexie, done the staying home thing a fair few times myself.

Eliza9917 · 07/01/2019 14:39

@rainbowgrimm I have several reasons:

  1. I need a BMI of 30 or under to start fertility treatment. I'm not ovulating and my progesterone is at 1% and periods turn up as & when. No rhyme or reason to it. I think if I were to lose the weight these issues might sort themselves out on their own. If they don't, then we can start treatment.

  2. I've bought a wedding dress in a bridal 14 so its a 12. Wedding isn't booked yet, will book once the dress fits.

  3. I feel like I look disgusting. No clothes look nice on. Let alone without any clothes on! Barely any of my clothes fit. I have 1 jumper that is warm and tunic length. 1!! My warm coat doesn't fit. Therefore I don't go on dog walks at the moment. I don't buy any nice clothes as I'm always intending to lose the weight so no point. Hmm

  4. To get healthier. I won't get away with no issues forever - and actually, I've been told I'm pre-diabetic so I'm not getting away with it already.

  5. I want my energy back. Eating carbs and sugars makes me tired and saps my energy. I'm sick of being lazy with the housework and living in a tip.

rainbowgrimm · 07/01/2019 14:56

Sorry youre on the infertility merry go round @Eliza9917, the whole thing is just complete bullshit. I got baby bombed twice over Xmas by very close friends, think I'm channelling some of the emotion over that into determination with this.
Wedding dress sounds exciting though - have you got a link? I love looking at wedding dresses.

Kittensgalore · 07/01/2019 15:00

Great idea Rainbow.

  1. I have been trying to lose baby weight for the last 10 years! If I don't do it now I feel like I never will and I'm just going to get bigger and bigger.
  2. I have had an old knee injury which is still an issue. I feel old, fat and have difficulty getting up and down off the floor, mostly due to my knee but also just because I'm bigger than I should be.
  3. Sometimes I am filmed in the course of my work and I absolutely dread looking back at the film which we also have to do. It's horrendous.
  4. I also want more energy, when I get any down time which all I want to do is lie in bed and read. I need to be able to keep up with my kids and enjoy it.
  5. Clothes! I used to love clothes, I felt like I had my own style (nothing amazing more charity shop than labels) but now I just put the same thing on and do my best not to look in the mirror. There are more but that is probably enough for now!
Kittensgalore · 07/01/2019 15:03

I really hope that losing weight helps Rainbow and Eliza, so tough wanting a baby and having trouble conceiving when it feels like the rest of the world can't stop reproducing! Be lovely to have some baby news on this thread in months to come- you never know!!!

Eliza9917 · 07/01/2019 15:05

It is. Flowers for you, that sounds so shit. At least you are channelling it in to something positive.

My dress is the Justin Alexander 8651. I found the picture online and was going to have it recreated but one day I did a bit more googling and found out the designer/style number and found out its from 2013 and been discontinued. THEN I found an ex display/sample one on eBay. In a 12. So I bought it.

Eliza9917 · 07/01/2019 15:08

@Kittensgalore

but now I just put the same thing on and do my best not to look in the mirror

I live in jeans or leggings. Been creeping towards more days in leggings than jeans lately though. I haven't even got a full length mirror. I should buy one as motivation.

I really hope that losing weight helps Rainbow and Eliza, so tough wanting a baby and having trouble conceiving when it feels like the rest of the world can't stop reproducing! Be lovely to have some baby news on this thread in months to come- you never know!!!

Thank you, that really would be great wouldn't it :)

rainbowgrimm · 07/01/2019 15:58

Eliza9917 that dress is AMAZING. I love it, the shoulder detail is fabulous and so unusual. Once you fit in it I would just wear it all the time - to the supermarket, doing the dishes, anything.

rainbowgrimm · 07/01/2019 16:02

@Kittensgalore being filmed and having to watch it back is my idea of hell! I'm so excited about clothes, I also love a good charity shop. We've got a clothes exchange locally that runs once a month, you get to take as many items as you donate. That's my plan for any clothes that I need to get rid of.

Kittensgalore · 07/01/2019 16:34

Omg I love that dress Eliza, it is beautiful, really, really beautiful, and I am not a wedding person but I love that dress.

Eliza9917 · 07/01/2019 16:56

It is lovely isn't it! I just have to do it justice now. One thing that was concerning me is whether it can be taken up, it's a sample and I'm only 5'1". I'm sure I read the samples are made for people that are 5'9".

wrt clothes, there's a facebook group called 'Exante diet clothes exchange' www.facebook.com/groups/1004402269701425/ & 'Rapid Weight Loss Buy & Sell Clothes UK' www.facebook.com/groups/790466384461086/, I got a couple of tops on there for £1 each.

happytoday73 · 07/01/2019 17:23

hello
I've found my people! I'm 14st 8... need to be 12st2 absolute max so I'm going to try exante 2 or 3 meals a day for first time ever.... I bought some to try in Superdrug before I order more.

I feel I really should do 3 a day considering amount to lose... but forever hungry at moment so don't know if 2 substitutes a day is just more realistic or me chickening out before even started! ConfusedHmm

ClashCityRocker · 07/01/2019 18:07

My motivations are pretty shallow compared to some, I'm afraid.

I'm fed up of feeling fat. And looking fat. And over obsessing about food.

I need to reset.

Flowers to everyone struggling with infertility.

So far today I've had the cinnamon and apple porridge for lunch. I thought as I don't usually eat breakfast that would be fine, but must admit was starting to get hungry about three o'clock.

To be fair, it was quite tasty, better than I was expecting.

Going to have a spag bol sachet which I am significantly managing my expectations for and a smoothie.

Think I'm going to have to experiment a bit for the timing of what to eat when! Usually I'm a lunch and big dinner eater but obviously that's going out the window.

Also, widdling like a racehorse.

ClashCityRocker · 07/01/2019 18:24

HOLY HELL DO NOT TRY THE EXANTE SPAG BOL!

YACK!
