Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 5

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 07/06/2018 20:04

Hello, welcome to the fifth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible….........Star 1024lbs Star since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing! Grin Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

I'm 2 lbs down this week, so please with that after the gain last week. Really been keeping on target.

Appetite is suppressed at the moment as I have horrendous toothache, currently waiting to see emergency dentist as I can't cope with the pain.

fezzesarecool · 11/08/2018 17:56

BreakingSad Sorry to hear about your toothache, I had that last year and I was screaming into a pillow so I didnt scare the kids

If you can get some oralagel, it’s absolutely magic At the worst I put some on, and eat quickly after. Bedtime take some and lay down right away Flowers

honeysucklejasmine · 11/08/2018 19:07

Magic I can't recall where the recipe was from, but it was essentially courgette, onions, garlic, stock, and mint sauce to taste. I would roast the veg, blitz and add stock to consistency, then add mint sauce to taste. It was quite a foamy texture when freshly blitzed so try to avoid mixing too much, just stir in stock and mint with a spoon.

Breaking so sorry to hear about your tooth. Hopefully you've got some good drugs now.

Strawberry congratulations! Sometimes you needa few days or a week maintenance to reset a bit.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 11/08/2018 19:39

Loss this week: 1lb (would have been more if I hadn't had some wine)
To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 50 lbs
Left to lose: 74 lbs

Woop! Had a bit of a food orientated weekend so far (with friends) but all within acceptable limits - before I'd have used that as an excuse to throw everything out the window, but I've taken a more considered approach. Avoided all the sweet stuff and actually counting up what I have had (all deli, salady things) it hasn't been too bad. Too much cheese, but dammit it was good! Grin would sell firstborn for a good brie

Well done all you losers Wink

Breaking, try a bit of whiskey (or some other spirit) soaked onto cotton wool and pressed against the tooth. Even better is oil of cloves!

Well done Tractor, I think it is important not to abstain from life in order to lose.

honeysucklejasmine · 11/08/2018 21:36

Mmmm cheese. I miss cheese.

FATEdestiny · 11/08/2018 22:21

I miss peanut butter. I don't even want it on toast anymore like I used to have it, I don't miss bread. Straight out the pot on a spoon would be fine.

Delicious but frigging high calorie.

honeysucklejasmine · 11/08/2018 22:49

Peanut butter is my treat. But yeah, hugely high calorie.

honeysucklejasmine · 12/08/2018 08:49

Loss this week: 1.5lbs
Lost to date: 65.25lbs
To lose: 37.5lbs

Really pleased, I was only aiming to maintain. I think I've found similar in that going over a bit has kick started me a little.

moonlight1705 · 12/08/2018 09:14

Loss: -1lb
Total loss: 19lb

Not too bad although that is over two weeks but we did end up eating loads of cheese and desserts! Now its not quite as hot then my appetite seems to be coming back a bit.

Anyway, how's the toothache going Breaking?

Well done everyone on your losses.

AnotherOtter · 12/08/2018 09:49

Gained 3.6lbs (!) this week but that is down from 7.2lbs (!!) during the week. My weight seems to be very unstable at the moment. I'm eating with a small deficit of 250 calories a day but that is from the level that I used to use as maintenance and is probably wildly wrong now with this medication increase. I am now only barely a normal BMI. I've never been good at looking down at my body or in the mirror and being able to tell if I'm bigger or smaller. I usually pretty much feel the same size as 92lbs ago. But I keep feeling bigger this week. Everything is very strange just now.

Post, glad the operation went well. Did the bastards not give you prophylactic antiemetics with the morphine?! Hope the flu-like symptoms pass soon.

Breaking, really hope that is your tooth sorted now. Toothache is just awful.

ChestyNut · 12/08/2018 10:53

This week -4oz
Total - 60lbs
To lose- 40lbs

Disappointed as thought I’d have lost the ovulation gain from last week. Although I have swollen puffy eyes and painful joints still. Let’s hope it’s fluid and will disappear.

Having a miserable time, 10 year since DF died end of the month and the dog we bought him for his 60th ChestyDog who has been our world since has deteriorated, he’s nearly 12 and has epilepsy. He’s just got really old and occasionally falling over.
It’s so hard to know what’s the best for him Sad

Anotherotter sorry your having a hard time, your health has to be your priority at the minute. Hope the medication change works quickly Flowers

Post how are you now? Glad the surgery went well.

Breaking did you see the dentist? How is it now, toothache is hideous!

KOKO losers GrinFlowers

BreakingSad · 12/08/2018 14:56

Pain has gone down but now one tooth hurts when pressed which wasn't the case yesterday, thought I had a high pain threshold, bit this toothache has made me cry.

Anyway after a 2 1/2 hour wait, dentist was very good, did x-ray but had no abscess or fractured tooth, said it could be down to pockets in the gums, which may have got infected as there was nothing obvious. It wasn't any particular tooth (until today) just immense pain in area above. He said keep taking painkillers and get some clove oil and go to my dentist on Monday to investigate further. My Dm is back from abroad and had some Advil which has helped more than paracetamol.

Off out in a bit to get some oragel land clove oil. Thanks for all the tips well wishes.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 12/08/2018 16:38

Breaking you poor sod, toothache is fucking awful. Hope your dentist can get it sorted out soon.

I had such wonderful plans for today - I was going to go out early for a walk/jog/run and meal plan and sort out plans for the next academic year and my 5 year plan and my retirement plan etc etc etc...but instead I've made two pots of coffee and read books while listening to classical music. I would Blush but honestly, I've needed a bit of indulgence Smile so I'm keeping this vibe going for as long as I can. On to decaff coffee now Wink

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 12/08/2018 20:20

I've over eaten today so I'm going to have to do some aerobics to make up for it. Blush

MagicKeysToAsda · 13/08/2018 08:06

After what felt like a heroic Winkfew days, I am back in balance and weighed today having lost the 2+lbs I gained last week. Phew. I was holding a lot of water, but that was due to over indulgence in white bread and crisps on hols (not loads of either, but some, and they clearly send my body into a frenzy...whoops).

Taking DD out today with a friend and there's likely to be a lot of walking. Last time I went to this place was a year ago, so I am hoping to have a lot more energy today! Hope everyone is having a good start to the week!

FATEdestiny · 13/08/2018 08:10

Week 33

Start weight: 17st 8.5
Current weight: 10st 13
Total loss: 6st 9.5

My first time in the 10-stones! Healthy BMI is under 10st 2.

Height: 63 inches (5"3)
Chest: 33 inches
Waist: 35 inches
Hips: 39 inches

Height/Waist Ratio = 0.56
Hip/Waist Ratio = 0.9

HW healthy of under 0.5 needs my waist to be 31.5 inches. HW healthy of under 0.85 needs my waist at 33 inches to but that is assuming I don't lose any inches from my hips. So I guess I need to aim for a 31 inch waist.

4 inches to lose off my waist. Does anyone have any idea on weight loss needed for this?

It feels like it needs to be loads more weight loss. I don't mind, I like having a challenging target and will make it. But with only 12lb to go to healthy BMI, I feel I might need an extra stone or two at least to lose 4 inches. That would make me super slim!

RenaissanceBunny · 13/08/2018 08:45

Weigh in day - Last week was 17st 12.75 - this morning 17st 6.25 - yay!!! Been avoiding snacks and having healthy lunches.

Great weight loss Fate
Have a fun day out Magic

honeysucklejasmine · 13/08/2018 08:59

No idea Fate but I'm also seeing similar - looking at my goal measurements, it doesn't seem possible with the weight I still have to lose.

I am starting to do focussed aerobics sessions at home now, legs and bums, arms etc. Hoping I can tone up a bit. Figure I'm going to try to do either c25k or aerobics every day. They are both only half an hour so there's no reason not to.

The only issue with c25k is it's starting to get dark by the time I'm getting out now, and it makes me nervous. Going to have to change my route and stay on the roads, rather than the little paths through trees.

Never had to worry about that before!

MindBodyChocolate · 13/08/2018 16:33

Hi all, checking in after my holiday. Was in France for 2 weeks, stuck religiously to plan apart from one amazing blow out meal out and lost another 7lbs over the 2 weeks. Chuffed. Now to carry it on though. Feeling a bit weird this week - almost like all my efforts went into the holiday and there’s nothing left now... not going to blow it now though. Kids are in holiday club tomorrow so will at least get some time to meal plan then :)

Starting: 18 st 13
Currently: 17st 1
Loss: 1 st 12
Goal: 11 st 13
To go: 5st 2

Stripeybum · 13/08/2018 17:30

Sorry I've been awol but trying to keep up while on holiday. Get ready for a massive whinge 😔
I have been eating so well on Slimming World, on my own, coming up for four weeks now. Even while I was away. I really thought I'd have something to show for it. But no.

I had a pair of trousers I wanted to get back into, no. Bras still fit. In fact only change is my necklace needed done up a couple more notches to sit where I want.

Husband took a photo of me today and I look as huge as ever. I am so bloody down about it.

I wasn't going to weigh until next week but I think it's going to have to be this week and see if I've made any headway at all.

It just seems so unfair. Sorry, I know I sound really bratty. But honestly I weighed 119kg!!!! At a hospital appointment so sort of thought being that big it would drop off quickly.

I'm not going to fall off the wagon because I need to do this for my health as well as my vanity but just wanted a bit of a moan.

I'm really sorry to bring it all down 😔

honeysucklejasmine · 13/08/2018 20:57

No worries Stripey, it can be really disheartening if you're not seeing changes. Do jump on scales in morning, but also take your measurements - a change in the scales might not reflect the change in your measurements.

MagicKeysToAsda · 13/08/2018 21:32

Keep the faith Stripey the results will show, but I totally understand it's hard to believe it. My body didn't feel different for quite a while, even when the scales were had started to move downwards...and then one day I could suddenly tell there was a change. Bodies are very strange, and I don't claim to fully understand my own, never mind anyone else's Grin

How was the aerobics Honeysuckle? I know what you mean about finding safer evening routes for the darker twilights - I don't much like running on pavements but will need to do the same as you. I have great intentions of trying a very slightly longer run tomorrow evening, but I might be getting ahead of myself!

MagicKeysToAsda · 13/08/2018 21:35

Sorry, hit post before I could say well done to Fate, Renaissance, and Mindbody!

Stripeybum · 13/08/2018 23:23

Thank you all ❤️

And we'll done to all the losers and those who are persevering KOKO XXX
