Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 5

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 07/06/2018 20:04

Hello, welcome to the fifth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible….........Star 1024lbs Star since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing! Grin Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Just popping in to say hello. Am behind with thread, apologies. Busy week with DD back, funeral and DH and I are away for the weekend. Forgot to charge Fitbit so that will conk out shortly but will be good practice on KOKO. Doing a very hilly Park run this morning, whose stupid idea was that ?! Answer - mine Grin

Tractors huge sympathy on the cramps. That sounds encouraging on the job front, fingers crossed.

Welcome to all newcomers . BreakingSad well done on drawing the line. I think as we’ve all said before and good to reiterate for those who are newer to this, Keep On Keeping On (KOKO) and drawing a line after a bad meal/day/week/month is so important and I think is what a lot of slim people do just not consciously. However quizzing some of my friends it is in fact very conscious and that was a bit of an eye opener for me.

moonlight1705 · 21/07/2018 07:36

Aww Tractors hope you are feeling better today. Post good luck with the hill run you mad person!

Woohoo! No idea what’s going on with the scales but I throughly checked this morning and I’m officially in Onederland!

Can’t believe I’m under 200 pounds!

strawberrypig · 21/07/2018 10:29

Fezzes, that is cause for a massive celebration! Well done you!

I've lost 2.5lbs this week making 22.5lbs off, only 77.5 to go Grin

I'm pretty pleased with this as it is exactly two months since I started so a fabulous start. In that time I have eaten out, drank alcohol and cooked some brilliant meals, goodness knows why I didn't do this sooner.

I started out on SW but I'm not great at logging things down. I am not calorie counting either, just making the best choice I can, every time. Sometimes the best choice is a bit of chorizo to keep you from craving, sometimes just a small portion of what everyone else is having.

I try to stick to the SW principle of cutting out bread apart from a measured portion though as I think that gluten is rubbish for me and gives me IBS type symptoms.

In short, I am upping my veg, downing my portion size, not eating processed food and making sure I have the right proportion of vitamins and minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fats in my diet and making sure I'm really enjoying food again.

MindBodyChocolate · 21/07/2018 11:44

Well done fezzes that’s absolutely amazing!! Must be a big psychological boost to be in the 100s.

And strawberrypig that’s a great result already.

Love this thread - some very inspiring posters :)

notanurse2017 · 21/07/2018 12:46

Week: 82
Weight lost:1 ib
Overall weight loss: 91 ibs
To go: umm not sure, another 36 lbs, probably more, but we will see how it goes.

New mini goal to get to 100 lbs weight loss by end of year.

Am still not exercising much - I’ve gone from an average of 12 000 steps a day to just being able to make 5 000 but am taking things slowly. Now going to catch up on this busy thread!

notanurse2017 · 21/07/2018 12:57

Tractors, so sorry that you haen’t been feeling well but well done on the interview. When will you hear anything more formally?

PostNot hope you are having a fabulous time away and well done on the run. When I don’t wear my Fitbit I keep thinking of wasted steps which is ridiculous!

ChestyNut - slow, sustained weight loss is exactly what I am aiming for as well. Like you I don’t “ban” any foods, what’s the point, for me it’s unsustainable.

Honeysuckle - what a lovely few NSVs. I bet you felt proud of yourself.

BreakingSad, 2 lbs is nothing in the scale of things. Well done for staying accountable.

Hello to baby Moonlight!

Well done to everyone who is KOKO especially the newer people on this thread who are just starting out. It’s such a brave thing to do, and can feel overwhelming. There is so much good advice on this thread already, for me I have taken it a lb at a time and a day at a time, if I had thought back 19 months ago that I had to lose over 110 lbs just to be in a healthy BMI range I would never have started it.

Happy Saturday everyone.

ChickenFriedMice · 21/07/2018 17:26

Well done losers Grin

I still need to weigh in! I've got jeans on at the moment and don't want to risk the extra weight Hmm

fezzesarecool · 21/07/2018 20:34

Help! Going on the Hen and haven’t got a clue what to wear. It’s a booze cruise on the Thames so although it’s smart causal probably better to dress up.

Problems are I haven’t wore a dress/skirt for about 5 years.

Is this skirt ok? Or too much? I was thinking with a white top Dont know if it makes any difference but I’m mid 30’s so last time I got dressed up and was a good size was early 2000’s!

I went to a shopping centre yesterday and at size 20 too big for most places.

fezzesarecool · 21/07/2018 21:16

Ok booked in with Debenhams personal shopper

strawberrypig · 21/07/2018 21:32

I think that skirt would look amazing, a personal shopper is a great way to go.

fezzesarecool · 21/07/2018 21:35

strawberrypig Thanks I think I’ll order the skirt as it’s just £6 on clearance

Honestly I don’t have a clue when it comes to clothes and actually putting pressure on myself as seeing people I’ve not seen since last year so it’ll be nice to have a wow moment

ChestyNut · 22/07/2018 09:47

Loss- 4oz
Total- 59lb 12oz
To lose- 40lb 4oz

moonlight lovely baby scan Smile
notanurse how are you feeling now?

KOKO Flowers

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 22/07/2018 10:32

That skirt is fab fezzes!

Well done you bunch of losers Grin

I hopped on the scales earlier but as it's reading 5lbs up from a sneaky peek I had on Wednesday Hmm I don't think it's accurate. AF is certainly making an impact! I'll keep on track and weigh next weekend.

Daal and cauliflower rice for today - just need to plan out the rest of the week now. The freezer could do with a cull, so I'll aim for a frugal week.

honeysucklejasmine · 22/07/2018 10:32

Well done losers! Fab job all round.

I weighed in yesterday, and I also weighed in today. However, today I feel bloated and crap, and DS refused to eat much this morning so my boobs were rock solid. So, I am going to use yesterday's figure (2lb loss) rather than today's (STS). If I end up sts next week then so be it.

Loss this week: 2lbs
Lost in total: 61.25lbs
To lose: 41.5 lbs

I am at my lowest known weight from the start of 2010. From here on down its uncharted territory.

Fezzes congratulations on your sub 200! I am also shit at clothes but pretty addicted to www.lindybop.co.uk which suits a curvy figure. I mean, it still suits me now I'm actually curvy rather than just hugely overweight, but it still looked good then. They've recently got a new model who is beautiful but she's very thin and straight up and down, and the clothes don't especially suit her.

Notanurse so lovely to see you back.

notanurse2017 · 22/07/2018 12:31

ChestyNut well done on weight loss. I am feeling ok. Still off work. It's only been a week since I have felt able to eat fruit and less "beige" food in general so I have slid slowly back into healthy eating. Feeling tired still but I think that is a mixture of blood loss and not being able to eat as nutritiously as I would have liked.

Honeysuckle - take the loss! I think that I am at my lowest weight since 2008/9 - I still have some clothes from before then that I am determined to wear again! It's a strange feeling isn't it?

NoTractors - ignore the 5lb - it happens to me sometimes too.

About to go on a slow shopping trip to get my measly 5 000 steps in. Can't wait to be up to 13 000 and above without struggling.

Stripeybum · 22/07/2018 22:06

Well done all of you. These losses are so inspiring.

I've stayed on track all weekend, I've had a couple of treats but counted them. I've realised that I've not had bread or pasta and that I haven't missed it. Used grilled aubergine slices instead of lasagne that the rest of the family had and no cheese sauce. Don't feel deprived at all.

Can't wait to see a difference. I've got a vile photo taken the other week that's become my before photo.

KOKO you wonderful lot xxx

Callmesausage · 23/07/2018 07:30

Morning all and very well done to everyone!

Week 7
-1 1/2
Total loss -23 lbs

On holiday soon, so won’t weigh in for a few weeks. Hope I can keep on track a little or at least lose any gain very quickly and get straight back on it.

B1rdonawire · 23/07/2018 07:36

I have pleeeenty of before photos sadly!

This week: 1.5 lbs off
Total: 4 and a half stone / 63lbs
Lowest weight since: er, about 2003 I think (love this measure thanks for the idea!)

Off on hols with extended (very slim) family next week feeling SO grateful that I'll be sitting in a swimsuit next to them, feeling fab because I'll know it says size 14 (squeaks of excitement!!) - let's not think about how stretchy it is, it's still unimaginable from 13 months ago.

There was a spectacularly unflattering pic of me taken this weekend but at least I was able to think it was just an unfortunate shot, and there's nothing wrong with having a way to go. Wishing you all a fab week, keeping as cool as possible...

Scarlettwaffle · 23/07/2018 07:46

Morning everyone well done on the weight losses so far. Smile
I have chosen to weigh in on a Monday as I know when I’ve weighed in at the weekend before I’ve thought “I can have a treat tonight now” and pretty much pigged our all weekend, meaning I hardly lose or maintain. Blush.

Week 1
Lost: 4lb
Total loss: 4lb
To go: 96lb

I’m pretty pleased with that, I didn’t make any drastic changes (except reduced the amount/type of alcohol consumed Blush) just made better choices & wrote it all down....

BasementJacks · 23/07/2018 08:54

Urm. 0.2 of a kilo off this week Blush

We're moving house and it's the end of term so I'm totally blaming that rather than the biscuits.

I shall be back on it this week!

Scarlettwaffle · 23/07/2018 09:08

I’m off work this week potty training my toddler so I could well eat 4lb of biscuits by the end of the week!

FATEdestiny · 23/07/2018 09:40

Great week this week. Especially given we had a celebration weekend (because DH reached healthy BMI with a 5st3 loss) - so we had our first takeaway meal since Christmas on Saturday and the an extended family big BBQ on Sunday.

I tried to pick healthy options for both though, and allowed for the big meals in my calorie counting so that I maintained a deficit both days. Then I had a very kean Monday-Friday with lots of runs, walks and low calorie meals. The rest is:

Week 30 (Jan 1st 2018 start)

Start Weight:
17st 8.5
246.5lb
111.8kg
BMI: 43.8

Week 30 Weight:
11st 5
159lb
72.1kg
BMI: 28.1

Total Weight Loss in 30 weeks
6st 3.5
87.5lb
39.7kg

Still to go to get to BMI under 25
1st 4
18lb
8.2kg

100lb loss is feeling very much within my reach now!

Non Scale Victories in the last month

• Measurements gone from 34 38 40 to 33 36 38
• I easily fit into all size 14 clothes at all shops
• I fit into some size 12 clothes Shock
• Did my first non-stop (no walk break) 10K run
• Got my 10k time under 70 minutes
• Got my 5k time under 33 minutes
• Continue to run at least 5k every day, and really enjoy doing it
• I took a selfie photo the other day. I never normally willingly have my photo taken
• On a family dog walk at the weekend, had a play running race with my children up a 400m hill. Something I couldn't have contemplated doing a year ago
• taking my youngest 2 children to the zoo tomorrow, just me and them while my eldest 2 are at school and DH at work. Lots of walking and no adults support. The type of trip I wouldn't have done last year because of the amount of walking it will involve.
• I am strong. I am fit. I am becoming healthy Grin

AnotherOtter · 23/07/2018 09:41

I'm late weighing in and pretty much fell off the thread last week as had a horrendous time of it. Have put on 1.8lbs which means my run of shite weigh ins continues. Very disappointed in myself that when it hit the fan then I reached for food. I feel like I have reactivated my old patterns. I am back on the wagon and have had three days eating as planned. Have to keep going now. Am not thinking long term (or trying, at least) but just thinking of a week at a time.

Hope you feel better soon, notanurse Thanks

Great NSV and have a brilliant holiday, B1rd.

Well done on the losses, everyone.

honeysucklejasmine · 23/07/2018 09:54

Well done AnotherOtter, you've recognised a problem and you're tackling it.

I need to do the same. I was 14 13.5 on Saturday morning. This morning it was 15 2.75! Blush I wasn't especially careful on Saturday (had a day out with extended family) but I wasn't awful either. So I'm going to have to be super strict this week to avoid a massive gain.

Well done losers!

Fate what an impressive data set!
