Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 5

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 07/06/2018 20:04

Hello, welcome to the fifth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible….........Star 1024lbs Star since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing! Grin Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Pottery painting for DD maybe ? My DS was into Kayaking at that age which he did with Cubs, He liked all the bush craft type things they did . That was before he turned into a teenage vampire.

honeysucklejasmine · 29/06/2018 21:36

Oh Post, you have made me laugh. Well done on standing your ground! Sorry your week has been shitty, but well done on the nsv!

I tried to post earlier to say well done to milz and curry I totally get what you mean about double figures! I was at hospital though (routine, no drama) so signal was patchy and it looks like it got sent to the ether.

I had a nsv in hospital too. I got weighed, fully dressed, in shoes, after lunch... 98kgs. Which is about what I weighed at last weigh in, naked, hungry etc. So hoping I'm doing ok this week. And also - 98! Not 100 and something! Bloody hell!

Total loss: 14lb

Grin yey, got to a stone after what feels like years! This whole pregnancy thing is a great diet.

fezze well done on sts despite the week.

BreakingSad · 30/06/2018 08:50

Damn it lost my post

Thanks to those struggling and I hope it turns around soon.

Well done to the losers and the lovely nsv

I'm up 1 lb again, I've not exceeded my expenditure but haven't had much of a deficit. Don't think the weather is helping me. Like Post said draw a line, it's a new day.

honeysucklejasmine · 30/06/2018 09:28

Sounds like it's been a tough week a round! Koko everyone!

Moonlight congratulations on your first stone!

strawberrypig · 30/06/2018 09:57

I wasn't looking forward to weigh in as I've had two buffets, a McDonal's breakfast, a Wetherspoon's mixed grill and a Chinese takeaway this week (was away on a conference so not 100% under my control).

Stone me, I lost 3lbs! I am wondering if I have kickstarted my metabolism again?

So my stats are

Week 6

This week 3lbs
Total 16.5 lbs
Still to go 83.5 lbs.

ChestyNut · 30/06/2018 10:25

Morning all.

Anotherotter and moonlight must be the week for it.....
Having a crappy time, ridiculously stressed and lots of disordered eating urges. Have felt nauseous all week and diahorrea every morning with ear ache and a dose of oral thrush Hmm

Can’t work out if I’m ill or just anxiety.

Had a sobbing session on dietician early in week and been instructed to eat what I can stomach even if it’s not on “plan”
I’m really making an effort to eat even though I’d rather not but it’s all mainly beige Hmm

Stressing about the scales tommorow, I’ve eaten less but quality has been poor!

Can I join the group hug? Flowers

moonlight1705 · 30/06/2018 11:30

Awww Chesty big group hug for rubbish weeks. Hope you feel a bit better soon Flowers

At least we can all chat here and get back to it when our minds are in gear.

PostNotInHaste · 30/06/2018 18:11

Chesty you poor thing Flowers There has been a stomach thing doing the rounds here, DD and partner flew to his Family and spent first day throwing up. DH and I have had a couple of dodgy days too.

Well done Moonlight and Strawberrypig. Chesty it will be the heat. Don’t know about anyone else but my ankles are. A little bit puffy. Fezzes am with you on the new Day thing. Honeysuckle that is great, well done !

Today has been better and Otter made me think about the eating up to calories rather than appetite. I’m stuffed after curry so am stopping there rather than eating up to my day’s calories.

Bit weird out this afternoon, hardly anyone around and everything dead quiet outside at moment, bit unnatural. Have bought blackout blinds which I’m hoping DH can put up as I would really really really like to not wake up sleep in a bit. Been sale clothes shopping so things starting to arrive. Was delighted that an H and M large t shirt (new sizing ) was too big, one of the dresses in same size was fine though so not very consistent. I’ve been lurking on the how to look expensive thread as felt if I had to buy new clothes I should make a bit of effort,

fezzesarecool · 30/06/2018 18:31

PostNotInHaste A new day tomorrow! I pigged out at lunchtime and I didn’t even enjoy it. Lucky oh has bought some low calorie ready meals so can do damage control and actually not be too bad.

But enough’s enough. Had my fun and excuses.

Tomorrow I’m at work so can’t eat IYSWIM and bang on it for the week. KOKO everyone

strawberrypig · 30/06/2018 18:32

I really think it is important on a weight loss journey you start listening to what your body is telling you. I know the weeks I decide what to eat at the last minute have bigger losses than the ones where I plan. My bodies needs are differ massively from day to day, so I guess the fuel it needs changes. A couple of times this week I have craved protein and eaten a whole packet of pastrami as a snack. Was flipping gorgeous and so much better than hitting the carbs.

Had a pay day treat for lunch, smoked salmon on a bagel thin, topped with poached egg and quark. Every bit as yummy as a eggs royale full calorie version. I will never stop using food as a treat, if I did then I might as well just do the Cambridge diet and then pile on the weight at the end.

They say you have to do something 100 times for it to become a habit. I'm aiming to eat the right way to lose a pond a hundred times!

PostNotInHaste · 30/06/2018 19:00

It’s the weekend Fezzes Easier when you have work to keep you occupied!

Agree Strawberrypig. Trouble I’m having is I have done it over a hundred times now and some days I can do it just fine. Other days when my hormones kick off they seem to override my ability to listen to my body, which is really pissing me off. Agree about protein and I think hormones plus carbs = huge carb craving for me (am fine other times) so maybe I need to be more mindful of that.

AnotherOtter · 01/07/2018 00:39

Thank you so much for the supportive messages, really means a lot to me

honeysucklejasmine · 01/07/2018 08:14

AnotherOtter makes sense re mfp. I think I do the same. Rheumatologist was fine. All routine. Keep on and see you in a year etc. Hope all gets back to normal for you soon.

Loss this week: 3lbs
Lost to date: 57.25lbs (4 stone, 1.25lbs!)
To lose: 44.50lbs

Really pleased to have seen a bigger loss this week and to have moved through the 4 stone barrier. Onwards and downwards!

Cagliostro · 01/07/2018 08:44

Hi all, I’ve not been a supportive poster sorry I’ve been so distracted by the move. Totally reflected in my eating as well. Life is chaos! We’ve got another four weeks of this madness. Some of boxes and furniture are in the new house though so progress has been made.

All three of the Caglets were puking Friday night, we all ate a chicken thing but it didn’t agree with them. Thankfully all fine now but I’m almost sad they are back to their usual lively selves as I’ve had fuck all sleep looking after them 😂😣

Nickname how is DD? 💐

I haven’t weighed in this week, I will be amazed if I’ve not put on more TBH. Finding it incredibly hard to resist anything. I think I need to just start with the fizzy drinks again TBH, I had slipped and allowed myself far too many (just the odd can of Dr Pepper etc, all adds up) - and it’s not just the sugar/calories from the drinks, it’s more that it seems to really set me up on a bad eating path for the day 😖 I crave caffeine so much when I am tired though (I don’t drink tea or coffee)

ChestyNut · 01/07/2018 09:37

This week - 2lbs
Total 59lbs lost
To lose 41lbs

Reallylosingitthistime · 01/07/2018 09:47

Hello everyone. Well done on all the loses and NSV.

Fezzes - just spotted how quickly you have lost 5 stone! How have you done that in just over 3 months? You're a machine!!!

Moonlight - well done for you 1 stone mark!

Had an injury early this week that has meant my exercise has had to be put on hold and just restricted to gentle walking but I think I am ok to try a run tonight so will see how that goes.

So weighing in....week 25
Starting to lose 150lbs
Lost this week -4.5lbs
Total loss -71.5lbs
(Remaining to lose 78.5lbs)
I'm so close to being halfway there and next week is the 6 month mark so would love to do it by then.

Wantacurry · 01/07/2018 10:20

I managed to put on 7lbs overnight according to the scales this morning !

Obviously that is not logical and more likely to be water weight due to the extremely salty off plan meal I ate last night. But despite eating off plan, I stuck to maintenance calories.

Just a bit of a shock this morning but the water weight should come off over the next few days.

nicknamehelp · 01/07/2018 12:47

We'll done on losses. I'm not weighing tjis week as can't face it.

Dd is still in hospital dh is being a twat so I spent most of yesterday in tears trying to cope while he went of to a party (I haven't the emotional strength right now to deal with him) hoping dd will be allowed home either tonight or tomorrow.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/07/2018 18:32

I just had this for dinner:

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pomegranate-chicken-almond-couscous

Changes:
Swap cous cous for rice (because of ds)
Reduce amount of almonds to 15g pp which is still loads
Didn't bother with mint
Used two onions
Served with brocolli

It was yummy. Toddler ate all except rice rice and chicken (so, brocolli, pomegranate seeds and almonds). Baby demolished the lot as usual.

strawberrypig · 01/07/2018 20:48

Nickname, hope your dd gets out of hospital ASAP and your dp steps up. Stuff weighing yourself at the moment!
*
Honeysuckle* that looks awesome. I had a fakeaway tonight, pork steaks, corn on the cob and dirty fries pinchofnom.com/recipes/syn-free-dirty-fries-slimming-world/
I subbed the peppers for chilli pepper, perfect for this weather!

B1rdonawire · 02/07/2018 07:20

1lb on this week. Ugh. Not a shock based on the week I've had I suppose. Have also come down with stinking cold (in this heatwave...) which in an odd way has made me feel better because it explains how just "wrong" I've been feeling. Not precisely enjoying the wheeze, cough, blocked nose and sore throat but at least I can attack them with inhalers and paracetamol and know what I'm dealing with...scraping for a bright side Grin
