Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 5

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 07/06/2018 20:04

Hello, welcome to the fifth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible….........Star 1024lbs Star since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing! Grin Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Aye right... Hmm I don't think SPAM is recommended for weight loss Grin (reported, obviously).

....anyway... back to business.

Apologies for radio silence at this end - life etc., has got in the way! I've put on 2lbs over the last 2 weeks - stress and bloat, I think, but I have had a look at my meals and have been pretty carb-heavy, so think that has also had an effect.

Gained Lost this week: +2 lb Angry
To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 47 lbs
Left to lose: 77 lbs

So, things should be getting more like normal now - DCs finish school this week for the summer, and it has been such glorious weather, I should be able to get out in the evenings a bit more. Also hoping to hear back soon about the interview I had last week - it has really consolidated my feelings about my current job.

Enough about me - going off to read what you've all been up to. Well done to losers, NSV-ers, STS-ers etc., and KOKO to all Smile

Chesty! 3lbs! Congratulations! What did you change? Well done on 4 stone!

Tractors finishing school already? Are you in Scotland?

Topsyturvy1 · 24/06/2018 21:20

Feeling proud of myself today was feeling really lazy this afternoon and started to get into my old mindset of ordering a takeaway and stuffing my face full of crap, but I forced myself to make a bolognaise now I'm full and feeling quite proud of myselfSmile. Does this make me a sad cow???

BreakingSad · 24/06/2018 21:56

It absolutely doesn't make you sad Topsy in fact the complete opposite and you should feel very proud, you're choosing better eating habits and that's a big win in my books.

Callmesausage · 25/06/2018 07:10

Morning all and well done on losses.

Week 3 here and -2.5

Over indulged yesterday at a barbecue, so taking yesterday morning’s weight!

milziiiiiiiiii · 25/06/2018 11:45

Hi everyone!
I would like to join from today if you don't mind!
Week 1
Gain/loss - 0
left to lose - 100lbs
overall loss - 0

honeysucklejasmine · 25/06/2018 12:08

Hi milz, welcome! Have you thought about what method you're going to use? If you need any advice or help, we've got a huge variety going on here.

milziiiiiiiiii · 25/06/2018 18:54

Thank you for the welcome!

Life is a bit hectic at the moment so I'm not planning to do a complete overhaul! I think I will focus on eating more veg and just eating less overall, no snacking!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 25/06/2018 19:33

Welcome milzi and well done sausage

honey - yes, Scotland - we go back mid-August. The lack of school uniforms in the laundry is a very pleasant thought!

topsy - nothing sad about taking care of yourself!

I am Very. Grumpy™ as I have a sinus-y infection - it hurts! Normally I'd have an hour long shower and steam the fuck out of it, but it's too hot to do that, so I'm icing it sporadically and sighing dramatically....the sighing is optional, but makes me feel better Wink.

Hope you're all having better days!

B1rdonawire · 25/06/2018 21:36

Get well soon Tractors I trust you're also flinging yourself down on a chaise longue with one hand draped across your forehead?!

I gave myself last week "off" food tracking but continued the regular running - it was my first birthday of weight loss and I marked it with profiteroles. I regret nothing Grin

STS this week, somewhat undeservedly TBH
Only 4 more runs left of couch to 5k, which seems bizarre. I mapped my usual run and was not really surprised to find I am very, very slow. But still doing it, so I'm not going to think about that too much.

Hope everyone's keeping cool this week - was 30 degrees here today. Am v pleased to see my ankles are much less puffy in the heat than last year.

DieAntword · 25/06/2018 21:43

Hello,
I have already lost 30lbs but I have another 101lbs to go. Past couple of weeks I've been trending upward (but actually more or less maintained) so I'd need a kick up the arse to get me back on track.

strawberrypig · 25/06/2018 21:48

Well done all you losers.

I have had a slow loss week this week, only lost half a lb. I almost got into the woah be me, I have been "good" and nothing is happened trap.
Actually it has turned into a good thing.

I'm away on business at the moment and there was the most amazing buffet for lunch. Instead of a) starving myself or b) stuffing myself, I instead c) had a moderate portion of all the things I shouldn't eat and realised it is only one day of the rest of my life. I cannot divide things into good and bad, just choose the right things when it is possible and not go to extremes when it isn't.

I'm not going to fall into the stupid cycle of being a diet angel and then a fallen diet angel because one "bad" thing passed my lips.

honeysucklejasmine · 25/06/2018 22:16

Die welcome! Well done on your 30lb loss.

Strawberry that post should be printed out and stuck on your fridge. Fabulous attitude!

Milz sounds similar to what Chesty does. Good luck!

I'm starting to struggle. I hate heat, and when I'm irritable I'm more likely to eat through boredom etc. Also I ate too many calories at breakfast so I've been playing catch up all day. Think I'll do porridge again tomorrow. Might sneak a spoon of (free from version of) Nutella in to make me feel better. 😂

ScaredPAD · 26/06/2018 11:21

Wk 9 and i put a pound on. So now 12lb loss.

Sniff. I wasnt expecting that and was hoping to get to a stone :(

I thought I'd lose a few more stone before i stalled.

honeysucklejasmine · 26/06/2018 13:40

Scared without sounding mental... Tell us about your periods. Do you have them? Are you on or nearly due?

ScaredPAD · 26/06/2018 14:09

Mid cycle so not due or anything. Im not calorie counting so must have eaten more but I had been going slowly down the first 8 weeks and was expecting the odd slow week but not to put on.

Was in jeans last week and thin trousers this week. Had had a poo ;) . Didn't have a big meal last night or anything i can see.

I will keep on but had really hoped to just pootle around as i was for a few stone. Sigh. Its such a long journey too isnt it!

honeysucklejasmine · 26/06/2018 14:49

Sounds like you've been caught out by something being more calorific than you realise. Nevermind, keep on keeping on. Onwards and downwards. Flowers

ScaredPAD · 26/06/2018 14:50

Thanks honey. Hopefully next week will be better!

strawberrypig · 26/06/2018 18:30

I imagine, given the weather, it could well be water retention and you will lose the pound plus more.

Topsyturvy1 · 26/06/2018 18:49

2lb off this week 10lb in total over 3 weeks
