Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 5

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 07/06/2018 20:04

Hello, welcome to the fifth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible….........Star 1024lbs Star since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing! Grin Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Thankfully flooring isn’t really an issue yet. Normally the HA would rip it all up but when we viewed it, they said the previous tenant was there under 2 years and they were happy to leave it. It’s quite manky in places, so we are getting a carpet cleaning guy in before anything else (as well as a general deep clean). But at least we aren’t having to pay for flooring - plan is to gradually replace when we can. We have soooo much furniture to buy as it is, we have virtually nothing to take with us!

Cagliostro · 21/06/2018 08:52

House is quite nice, certainly bigger! And a little garden, and the location is amazing too which will be life changing in itself. Right by a lovely park and close to town which is brilliant as we don’t drive, so more opportunities to walk rather than relying on buses all the time (great for fitness too!) :)

I’m mostly stressed as there’s just so much to do and TBH I would feel better if the house was clean when we first saw it (HA don’t really clean between tenants) as it’s making me a bit anxious. It’s not terrible, but I’m sure I’ll feel better once we’ve had it cleaned.

honeysucklejasmine · 21/06/2018 12:01

Ah great news! I've always thought it was odd that they rip up sometimes perfectly good flooring just because a new tenant is coming in. Definitely get a cleaning company in if you can though - much easier than doing it yourself when you're busy.

nicknamehelp · 21/06/2018 15:20

Caglio no one ever seems to clean when they leave a house but at least doing it yourself u know it's clean and think of the Cals u will burn! Enjoy your new home

Cagliostro · 21/06/2018 18:23

1lb on since I weighed a few weeks back. Bad but not as bad as I thought tbh. Bit worried this is my body's comfortable weight now as I seem to be hovering around it. Clearly the baby is no longer getting all her calories from me (still BF but loves solids now too) so I'm using less.

I am dreading all the packing etc, my base fitness in terms of walking is much better than before recent pregnancy but I still ache all the time (I have fibromyalgia). Today I shook out a load of baby clothes before putting them in the dryer - I don't normally bother but these are outgrown ones to fold up for a pregnant relative. OMG it killed my arms, they still ache now.

We also have fuck loads of decluttering to do - making good progress in this but a long way to go yet.

Cleaning is being outsourced for sure, I've had some recommendations and they'll do a far better job than DH and I could. We have so much to do 😱😱😱

Somehow through all this chaos and stress I need to not live on chocolate and Dr pepper 😳

Callmesausage · 21/06/2018 19:39

Cagliostro, the house founds fab. I’m sure once it’s cleaned up you can start to make it your home and you’ll feel much better. 1lb I’m in a few weeks is fine considering the stress you’re under.

honeysucklejasmine · 21/06/2018 20:53

I'm finding the same, Cag. DS is 8.5 months now and I feel like I'm not using many calories feeding him now. I currently allow 300 a day but I think I need to lower it. Which I'm dreading tbh as I'm already feeling a bit hard done by with my calorie allowance as it is. Sad

I still feel a bit fat, but I think I'm on my period (I am on medication to prevent bleeding) so I think it might be that. Trying to Koko but don't think I'll lose much this year either.

nicknamehelp · 21/06/2018 21:14

Been a v hectic day but kept well under allowance.

nicknamehelp · 21/06/2018 21:15

One qu for those using mfp when you compete days diary and it predicts your weight in 5 weeks time how accurate have you found it?

Wantacurry · 22/06/2018 07:45

The five week prediction is not accurate at all on MFP. Unless you intend to have five weeks of identical meals and exercise.

I love MFP and I have it linked to Trend weight.com which is a nifty free trend analysiser. Trendweight gives you a general weight trend line and tells you when you will achieve your inputting goal. I.e. You will be at goal weight on 7th July 2018.

I put small goals in it to work towards my larger long term goals. It is a little on the negative side but copes with my zig zagging weight loss approach very well.

nicknamehelp · 22/06/2018 14:20

Just Been to the gym and done my new programme - it was so hard but I was determined to get through it!

Topsyturvy1 · 22/06/2018 21:01

Can I park my fat arse here??? I originally posted in January but things fell by the wayside but I've got my act together over the last 2 weeks and have lost 8lbs so feeling very motivated at the momentSmile

fezzesarecool · 22/06/2018 21:41

I’ve found the mfp predictions accruate but I do more or less have the same breakfast and lunches, dinners are different but within calorie allowance, and same exercise routine during the week.

honeysucklejasmine · 22/06/2018 21:53

Hi topsy, welcome! Well done on your loss so far.

Well done to you too nickname. Great work!

I didn't do any "exercise" today (other than general running around after kids), and I feel bad. Weird! Not bad enough to turn off my trashy movie and put on an exercise dvd mind...

My legs are agony today after gym so must of done some good.

Not a good few days food wise did so well till last night when I was just starving the today been grazing .

honeysucklejasmine · 23/06/2018 21:35

NSV! NSV! I ordered some size 16 clothes (a skirt and a jacket) to aim for as my small motivation. I tried them on to see how far away I am and they both fitted! 😱

Cagliostro · 23/06/2018 22:38

Wow that’s brilliant!

What does NSV stand for exactly? I’m not sure if I missed it on this thread or if it goes back further?

strawberrypig · 23/06/2018 22:52

Brilliant, all of you! NSV is non scales victory.

Cagliostro · 23/06/2018 23:55

Ohhh that’s great and makes sense. The closest I got was “new size victory” 😀

notanurse2017 · 24/06/2018 08:03

Week: 778
Weight lost: 3 ib
Overall weight loss: 87 ibs
To go: umm not sure, another 36 lbs, probably more, but we will see how it goes

Last weigh in before my operation next Saturday. Really glad to have had a bit of a whoosh. I think it is down to me moving a lot more (am using my Fitbit and making sure I reach 10 000 steps a day at least even when working at home). Will go back and try and catch up with everyone now.
