I struggled yday and though I managed to skip dinner to stay under cals it was all junk food and bad choices. Went to bed early and woke to a new day.

RoseyOldCrow · 26/04/2018 11:13

Go MadamGrumps - it IS a new day, we shall Slim Fast together!

Am I allowed to be inspired by you, Mumathon? That was one amazing day!

Mumathon · 26/04/2018 12:48

@RoseyOldCrow - ha! Thank you, but let’s see how today goes. Feeling hungry but trying to keep busy as a distraction/use more energy! So tricky with a picky eater toddler who leaves so many tempting leftovers...

llmb · 26/04/2018 17:20

Boring, quiet days are definitely the worse. At work I’m hungry but get on with as I don’t take snacks with me! Was doing ok today but I’m just making enchiladas and nachos for tea.... argh!

RoseyOldCrow · 27/04/2018 12:25

How's everyone doing today?

Mumathon did you cope with the toddler's leftovers & (adult?) Mexican food last night? I do think that, when we have a proper meal, we deserve our nutrition in top quality form!

What are you up to today, llmb & MadamGrumps? And Gwyncath, how are you doing in competition with your DS??

I'm having a delicious banana shake for lunch with the promise of a pink lady apple at school pickup time. Yum!

Mumathon · 27/04/2018 13:00

I did ok in the end, 19k step day, shake for breakfast, bar for lunch then pasta dinner (the Mexican food was llmb I think)!
Today is on track, although steps will be lower.

Mumathon · 27/04/2018 13:07

Posted too soon...

I’m finding this process really interesting. Only planning to do Slim-Fast for 2/3 weeks as a kickstart before going into a calorie controlled ‘real food’ type thing. It’s realy teaching me a lot about my eating habits though, how much I snack when I’m bored or stressed, little ‘tastes’ I’d usually take while cooking etc, so much more than I’d have thought. Thinking this awareness will really help longer term.

llmb · 27/04/2018 18:53

Yup me with the enchiladas! Was soooo good but regretted it. Today I did amazing .... until tea time. I had bar for breakfast and lunch, no snacks... but then i made a load of macaroni cheese and finished with ice cream. Whoooops. Have you seen that halo ice cream? Really nice with a lot less calories than Hagen daz...

I was only suppose to do slimfast for 2 weeks as a kick start but I didn’t lose anything I put it on! Maybe I’m a slow burning, although looking at last night and tonight’s dinner is it a surprise! Back on it tomorrow.

MadamGrumps · 28/04/2018 00:07

My day has been baaaad...dh is away till Sunday night so I've been making a fuss of ds and food has been a big part of it. I didn't realise how much we use junk food as treats so that's something to work on in the future.

Plus side I've hit the Fitbit step goal everyday this week which is actually the first time I've managed every day since I got it! Blush

llmb · 28/04/2018 05:38

madam I was exactly the same. It’s just me and the dc and I was the same, Saturday night ‘treat night’ so Domino’s or fish and chips etc this then became Sunday aswell.... same with chocolate or ice cream. I’m trying to substitute with hoummous and carrot sticks or breadsticks to dip whilst watching tv as it still seems a treat as we don’t eat in our front room.

RoseyOldCrow · 29/04/2018 15:32

Hi there - sorry about the enchillada mix up.
I loved the cheese, pate, grapes & biscuits we had last night as a treat, but boy they sat heavily in my stomach overnight. So today has been kefir & raspberries for breakfast & banana shake for lunch.
Hopefully I will be good for the rest of the day (poss even a shake for tea) just to atone!
It is good that we are looking at our whole lifestyles & improving; slim is great but it's not everything!
Enjoy the rest of your weekends x

RoseyOldCrow · 30/04/2018 06:50

I'm so happy - lost 2.5lb!!
In kg terms that means I'm under 100 for the first time in many years!
Any other Monday news?
(Totally irrational if you look at my week's food, but I guess that's how bodies work sometimes. )

llmb · 30/04/2018 07:05

WOwee rosie!!! That’s fab!

Well Monday weigh in for me.... haven’t changed BUT o be fair with how I ate at the weekend I’m pleased! Weather is horrific today, wet and windy and dark. The sort you want to just sit in and eat cake! Good job I have to go to work today and won’t be able too!

Mumathon · 30/04/2018 07:09

Well done Rosey!

Week one weigh in....lost 2.5kg, pretty pleased with that! Although I appreciate that as it’s week one that’s likely water weight/the effect of upping my water intake.
Had to do some baking yesterday (bake sale donation) so I did allow myself one small brownie but other than that I’ve been good at keeping with the plan and keeping my activity levels high. I’m surprising myself in that the reduced cals isn’t having a negative affect on my running, still feel just as strong as I did when I was eating a lot more.
How’s everyone else getting on?

MadamGrumps · 30/04/2018 08:50

Well done to you both! I somehow lost 2.4lb too! Wooo!!

This week I'm going to stick 100% and post here constantly to help me do it! I'm aiming for 7lb minimum for May. 🤞

RoseyOldCrow · 30/04/2018 21:01

Fantastic losing!!
I celebrated with a nice family dinner: chicken korma & jalfrezi, rice (boiled of course), broccoli (ditto), 1 pop with natural yog (0% fat!) & mango sauce, but no naan bread. Aero choc mousse & 1/2 a cookie this evening. Total of 1,300 cal for the day & I'm rather full too Star
I am also running a virtual 5k with Mumathon Halo

MadamGrumps · 30/04/2018 23:50

A virtual marathon?! How does that work?!

RoseyOldCrow · 01/05/2018 00:44

I imagine that we're running & chatting away, obviously on a lovely sunny evening!
And don't exaggerate, it's only 5k, I'd be virtually knackered if it was a marathon Grin

(Poor mobility so I couldn't do it IRL if i wanted to, hence just thinking about it will have to do.)

MadamGrumps · 01/05/2018 06:11

Lol sorry it was late when I posted! I don't get the virtual bit though? So you two are friends IRL I take it? Grin

Btw your dinner sounded yum!

Yday was a fab day for me diet wise. 12k steps and not a single slip up!

llmb · 01/05/2018 06:20

Virtual 5k Grin

I was so so bad yesterday. Annoyed with my lack of lose Blushcouldnt stop snacking, idiot Hmm

Back on it today. Again.

MadamGrumps · 01/05/2018 06:48

Llmb you need to change your mindset from "haven't lost" to "just not showing yet" and you won't think bollox I'm giving up as it's not working anyway.

Good luck for today, anyone got anything fun planned?

llmb · 01/05/2018 07:02

Yeah I know. I just have a wierd relationship with good, eating when not hungry, having ‘one’ biscuit or whatever then go looking for more knowing I don’t need it or actually want it!

Nothing exciting for me today. Looking forward to a long weekend though!

MadamGrumps · 01/05/2018 07:13

We are going on a walk today, it's freezing but least it's not raining and I want to hit step target every day so have to get off my arse.

llmb · 01/05/2018 07:48

madame what’s your step target? I aim for 12k... maybe I should up it but I work in an office and already walk there and back..

RoseyOldCrow · 01/05/2018 10:24

Nope, afaik I don't know any of you IRL Confused

Had a nice comment yesterday from Vet nurse, who i hadn't seen for 3 months, who said that she could tell I'd lost weight! So I stood up straighter, pulled my tummy in & felt even better Halo

Have a good day, SF-ers, with thousands of steps each xStar
