Hi all,

Starting this thread as I’ve started the Blitz today. Will probably just be posting to keep myself accountable but would love to hear about any tips or advice so feel free to join in if you are also starting this or have done it before!

I’ll be doing this over Easter which will be tough but I can’t keep putting it off so on it from today! Smile

Day 2, slept really well last night. I ended up saving my Greek yoghurt snack till I got home and having it with some agave syrup which was yummy. Felt a bit sick yesterday but prob just the shock of not eating crap all day.

Workout this morning was tough again but went ok.

Keep having little thoughts that I’m not going to be able to go 4 weeks without eating ‘something nice’ but trying to stay busy at work so the days go quicker!

How’s everyone else finding the food/snacks? I’ve always been one of those people who is constantly hungry!

Does she give you day by day exercises? How does it work? Smile

ChippyTea16 · 20/03/2018 12:37

Hi @CakerBaker she does yes! The plan is bacislly HIIT workouts 5 or 6 times a week, all in the book, that you can do at home. And the food is basically high fat/low carb with a high carb day thrown in every now and again. There are recipes you can follow but you can also create your own meals from a list of foods in the book.

As it’s only 4 weeks it’s quite strict I.e. no cheat meals, no alcohol etc.

I'm here Grin realised I should have put some agave syrup in my yoghurt this morning that might have made it more palatable. I've only got that one shot syrup thing wonder if I can use that instead.

Just had my soup with chicken and pine nuts. I feel full half way through eating the meals but hungrier afterwards. Maybe we will get used to it.

Looking at the exercises today dare I say they look easier? Will report back this evening after I've done (attempted) them!

ChippyTea16 · 20/03/2018 13:22

@imnottoofussed I got some agave from Holland & barrrat it was v nice!

I’m the same with meals, fine when eating them but hungry in between. Just shows how much I was eating before tho, as soon as I get hungry I eat.

Also, I’d agree that the Exercises today were definitely easier than yesterday! More core-focused than legs!

MunchkinJess · 20/03/2018 14:34

I actually find today more of a struggle but because I was so sore from yesterday lol I'm finding the food ok but god I miss a proper coffee Grin

ChippyTea16 · 20/03/2018 16:04

Haha aww we can have coffee can’t we?? I’ve had a couple of teas!

OP posts:
MunchkinJess · 20/03/2018 17:18

I since having my second child 6 months ago ..who doesn't sleep I was having like 5 lattes a day with tons of sugar lol don't think lattes are allowed @ChippyTea16 ....sugar is my major downfall Wink

ateacupofgin · 20/03/2018 17:26

Hi everyone!
I have had this book sitting in an Amazon basket for months... i found the other thread last night and needless to say the book is being delivered tomorrow!

Can I join in? I've done a HIIT workout today and have picked a hi fat lo carb menu from IQS which I think is similar.

ChippyTea16 · 20/03/2018 17:46

Hi @ateacupofgin of course you can! I’ve had the book for a while too, gutted seeing people on week 4 or beyond when that could have been me haha! Good effort on the hiit, she does say to do stuff before starting so it’s not a shock!

@MunchkinJess those are my fave too! I’m totally going to miss sugary food and this is going to be torture over Easter but hoping we will feel so good we won’t want anything sweet!

OP posts:
imnottoofussed · 20/03/2018 19:32

Oh god today's exercises are not easier at all, what was I thinking Confused

I've managed 3 sets but had to modify the burpees and planks.

How can anyone do these exercises for a minute each and that many sets Shock

ateacupofgin · 20/03/2018 19:51

Thanks @ChippyTea16! Something drastic needs to change, IQS has been good to kick my sugar addiction but it is not enough. Will be a challenge to do through the school holidays but I need to do something other than 'reward' myself with wine.... I am carrying 2 stone extra and despite a pretty healthy diet and reasonable exercise it won't sounds really disciplined - and I need that Grin

CakerBaker · 20/03/2018 21:51

What are the exercises like? Do you need tons of space, or kit? Can you do them if you’re an absolute beginner?! Do you do them 7 days a week?! I could be tempted but I need to know more! Grin

MunchkinJess · 21/03/2018 06:43

Couldn't get out of bed early today to do my exercises . My abs and legs are so sore lol waiting till after the school run when hopefully my muscles would have warmed up more .

Weighed myself this morning out of curiosity and I've already lost 3lbs on day 3 ...so this has defo spurred me on to stay on track ..biding the scales now till Monday lol

A bit nervous about carb day tomorrow . Dodo here made Bolognese with the courgette for tomorrow so. Or sure if I can just add rice to it or maybe my husband may have to eat it lol

ChippyTea16 · 21/03/2018 08:15

Morning all! Just done today’s exercises, found them really tough mainly due to aching from the other days but I really can’t do tricep dips!

Felt a bit sick yesterday and found it hard not to reach for something sweet. I couldn’t eat my tea as I didn’t feel well (I get this thing where I feel a bit sick on a strict plan like this and would prefer not to eat at all even tho I’m hungry! It’s weird but I hate veg so find it hard to force it down). Anyway I ate a piece of chicken instead and downed some water and had my yoghurt snack so was actually ok but worried now about how to make the meals nice so I can eat them!

@CakerBaker the exercises can all be done at home, no equipment needed and mainly things like burpees, squat jumps, tricep dips etc. They are tough due to the timings of them but I guess you can modify until you get fitter - I can’t do a minute of the plank for example but just do what u can Smile

@ateacupofgin I’m exactly the same, I need discipline! In fact I need a personal chef and a trainer to tell me what to do otherwise I reach for the biscuits!

ChippyTea16 · 21/03/2018 08:16

Oh, exercises are 5 or 6 days a week @CakerBaker

MunchkinJess · 21/03/2018 14:25

Tomorrow is carb day Smile what is everyone planning on having ?

ChippyTea16 · 21/03/2018 15:14

Hi @MunchkinJess well done on the 3lbs that’s amazing! I did write a post earlier but my phone deleted it!

Why are you worried about carb day?? I’ve been feeling sick as i don’t like forcing down the veg with meat I am a carb monster! I’m having overnight oats, chilli beef and rice and fish (cod) and potatoes for tea mmm!

OP posts:
MunchkinJess · 21/03/2018 15:47

@ChippyTea16 carbs tend to bloat me and I have always tried to avoid them ...obviously it's not working as I am not shifting any weight.

When I food prepped on Monday I stupidly made four days of evening meals being the Bolognese and courgette .which is a high fat meal ..not sure how lol

I hate wasting food so I hope it's ok to just have rice with the Bolognese and courgette to make up my carb day x

ChippyTea16 · 21/03/2018 16:21

Ah i see what you mean, because of the oil. Hmm. Can you have the courgette bolognese on Friday instead? I’m sure it will keep for another day (unless you have prepped Fridays food already in which case I am very impressed!).

I think as the carb options are limited (no pasta etc) the ones on the plan shouldn’t bloat you. I guess you could eat a bit less though if u feel really full? I actually find that the high fat fills me up more than carbs but carbs satisfy me ( in a way that no amount of salad or veg can Sad )

imnottoofussed · 21/03/2018 16:32

I'm aching a lot today, abs and legs especially. I'm also hungry, going to have some chicken for afternoon snack in a minute. I do my exercises around 7pm so my muscles better recover by then!

Tomorrow for carb day i'm having overnight oats, sausages with jacket potato and veg for lunch, then chicken and sweet potato for tea. Fruit for snack.

I weighed myself this morning and have lost 1lb so thats good. I also tried a keto stick and I am in ketosis so I think that's good for the high fat low carb part. Not sure what the carb day will do to that.

Hopefully I can stick to this even if i'm only doing half of the sets of exercvises.

ChippyTea16 · 21/03/2018 16:40

@imnottoofussed well done on the loss! I’m too scared to weigh myself as I’ve just started my period (sorry, TMI!) so not sure anything will have happened yet!

What is a Keto stick??

I think you can definitely stick to it if you don’t mind the food! I’m the opposite, fine with the exercise but struggle with the food. However I saw one lady on Instagram who just followed the food part, she couldn’t exercise due to a bad knee I think and she was just doing a few swimming lengths and she still had really good results so definitely keep going and just to what you can with the exercises, modify them for now maybe and watch your fitness build!

OP posts:
imnottoofussed · 21/03/2018 16:48

@ChippyTea16 yes wait until after that as you store more water apparently at the time of the month. Keto sticks you use them when doing atkins because it shows if your body is getting rid of ketones or something! Usually on high fat/protein and low carb diets you know you are in the zone by checking your urine with a stick. I bought them ages ago because I was going to give Atkins another try but didn't get round to it.

I might switch the exercises if i'm still struggling next week, I'm used to doing a few Joe Wicks videos and sometimes I do youtube workouts from Bodyfit by Amy so might do those instead.

RiojaHaze · 21/03/2018 20:44

I'm on week 2 and in the first week lost 4lbs which I'm really pleased with!

Finding it harder this week as I'm a bit sick of the food already but I've just made burgers with the mince, courgette, onion and egg with grilled tomato on top which changed it up a bit!

MunchkinJess · 21/03/2018 21:28

@RiojaHaze how are you finding the exercise as she increases the amount of time as the weeks go on Confused
