Hi all,

Starting this thread as I’ve started the Blitz today. Will probably just be posting to keep myself accountable but would love to hear about any tips or advice so feel free to join in if you are also starting this or have done it before!

I’ll be doing this over Easter which will be tough but I can’t keep putting it off so on it from today! Smile

Just had the cauliflower rice from Aldi ..it's so nice ! Had it with roast chicken as I am sick of chicken breast at the moment lol ...can't believe I'm not having a takeaway with some wine tonight !

RiojaHaze · 25/03/2018 14:09

It's really good isn't it, and so much more convenient than making it from scratch.

For the Thai chicken, did you just out the paste onto a breast?

We've all had a tummy bug here (4 people, 1 bathroom - not fun) and I just wanted carbs so I've indulged in pizza but it made a fast reappearance so I'm not going to beat myself up about it! Grin

ChippyTea16 · 25/03/2018 15:09

Oh no @RiojaHaze that doesn’t sound good! Mind you I could do with a stomach bug haha. I dreamt last night I’d gained 10kg this week, hoping tomorrow morning that’s not the case!

I haven’t make the Thai chicken yet but was just planning to stir a sooonful of paste through some diced chicken in the pan

Every cloud haha! I'm sure you haven't, is that your first weigh in since you started?

I remember smearing green curry paste on cheese on toast once thinking it was pesto. I won't make that mistake again! And it was the last piece of bread, I nearly cried!

ChippyTea16 · 25/03/2018 15:57

Oh no devo’d! OMG I’d kill for cheese on toast today. Or cake. I want something sweet.

Yeah I haven’t weighed myself since I started as time of the month I didn’t want to get depressed. At least after weigh in tomorrow it’s a carb day and the exercises tomorrow look ok Smile

MunchkinJess · 25/03/2018 16:10

@ChippyTea16 today is no exercise day and boy can I tell .

I have felt so full and sicky all day . I've managed the shake for breakfast and I had my lunch quite late . Couldn't manage snacks for now .

I did hot yoga yesterday just to stretch myself out as I was so sore.

Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better starting the day with training and then having breakfast but I have zero appetite today

ChippyTea16 · 25/03/2018 16:57

Hey @MunchkinJess it’s weird isn’t it how different we all feel. I had the shake this morning and made egg muffins with turkey bacon and tomatoes and to be honest they were pretty disgusting. I think I’m just sick of eating just meat and veg and I don’t really like eggs so il struggling with snacks.

I’ve felt like I’ve got no energy today. I see hungry but can’t really be arsed eating my snacks. Might have some nuts or something.

Not really sure at this point if I’m going to carry this on after 4 weeks Confused

OH god don’t! EnvyGrin

How did everyone get on this morning? I’m down 3.1kg which is just under 7lbs so pretty happy with that! Not hungry today at all which is weird! Hope everyone had good results!

I'm on day 5 today. Thank you for earlier tip, drinking more water has helped and I haven't had to go to bed and 8pm to stop me wanting food! I am also quite fed up of meat and vegetables, but I go on holiday in mid May so need to keep going! How was everyones weight loss after first week?

MunchkinJess · 26/03/2018 13:00

I lost 3lbs ..1 cm off wait and hips

imnottoofussed · 26/03/2018 13:17

Well done everyone Smile I've lost 3lb so very happy with that. I had pasta at Zizzi yesterday and pudding too! Regretted it afterwards as I had stomach ache all evening but thankfully not affected weight loss so far. Back on plan today. Had the overnight oats again but I find the portion size too big. I might do it in two bowls next time and have some for supper.

MunchkinJess · 26/03/2018 14:40

Well done @imnottoofussed and @ChippyTea16 that's brilliant !

I was hoping for more of a weight loss however I have to remember this is a long term solution ( exercise and healthy eating )

I have a BMI of 25.5 and would love to try and get it to a healthy range but I never do .

I also note that my thighs never go down 😬 must be the South American in me 😂

Still I am determined to see this through x

RiojaHaze · 26/03/2018 16:31

Well done @imnottoofussed and @ChippyTea16!!

Gives you a bit more motivation when you're feeling crappy doesn't it. I haven't felt right for a while but I've been putting it down to the bug. Has anyone else had heart palpitations in the evening? I haven't been worried as apparently it can be a side effect of a low carb diet....Confused

RiojaHaze · 26/03/2018 16:32

And @MunchkinJess! Don't be disheartened - 3lbs is great!

ChippyTea16 · 26/03/2018 18:16

Hi everyone, well done on all the weight loss! Yay! Hopefully everyone is motivated to keep going. Exercise was good this morning too although didn’t enjoy an extra round!

I’ve been absolutely STARVING today! I cheated a bit and put peanut butter on my rice cakes but honestly was so hungry I don’t care.

How is everyone planning to get through Easter? I’m finding portion sizes too small and I don’t want to top them up with more veg/salad

OP posts:
RiojaHaze · 26/03/2018 18:46

Go in on the veg - the amount of calories in another handful of spinach or broccoli isn't going to make much difference calorie wise imo?

ChippyTea16 · 26/03/2018 19:07

No it’s not and it’s what you should do but I just can’t stand it and having to force it down makes me gag and not want to eat at all.

In response to your earlier question, I’ve not had heart palpitations as such but def notice an increase in my heartbeat when I eat less. It’s the one thing that is confusing me about this plan, how everyone says there’s ‘loads of food’ and they struggle to eat it all. I’ve found portion sizes on high fat day pretty small to be honest (I am a greedy pig tho so maybe just need to reassess what a normal amount of food is!)

OP posts:
RiojaHaze · 27/03/2018 07:53

Hmm it's hard to tell as I've been adding extra veg and it's been enough for me, but then I've always been one of those people who eats because I'm bored and love eating rather than being hungry!

What was your diet like before? Loads of carbs?

ChippyTea16 · 27/03/2018 14:10

All the carbs @RiojaHaze! I always cook from scratch every day, have 3 healthy meals (porridge, meat free days, always get my 5 a day) but it’s my snacks I can’t control. As soon as I get hungry i need food NOW and usually end up eating chocolate, crisps, toast, cheese etc every day. If I have soup for lunch il be starving an hour later so usually go and buy a sandwich and crisps and basically have 2 lunches. I think this plan is making me realise what foods make me full so I need to include more fat and protein rather than empty carbs.

I’m honestly not convinced I can carry this on after week 4 has finished so I’m going to plan out some high fat low carb meals that I actually enjoy and stick to less carbs I think but still have things like spag Bol and my comfort food. I’m fine with doing exercise 5 tines a week so that’s not an issue.

I had smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs this morning and brought my breakfast shake in for lunch (my team went on a team lunch for pizza today but I was fine! I didn’t Even feel bad so that’s got to be a good sign!). And I don’t feel sick today yay!

How’s everyone else feeling? I’m still worried about Easter weekend tho!

MunchkinJess · 27/03/2018 14:14

Well today started out great got up and did my work out at 5:30am ..had my breakfast shake ...but since then I haven't had time to have my snack or lunch yet and I need to do the school run 😩 the baby is napping and the kitchen floor is wet lol ...not sure what to do at this point .

Should I just have my "lunch" with my daughter when she is having her dinner.

Today was poorly planned time wise ..

ChippyTea16 · 27/03/2018 14:59

Oh wow @MunchkinJess that sounds busy! Do you feel hungry or are you ok? I’d maybe see if you can combine your lunch and dinner or just have a big dinner and a snack for pudding? I wouldn’t worry about the timing too much (as long as you are ok!) - Chloe does a video on insta about food and as long as you consume it over the course of a day, timing doesn’t matter and you can ‘bank’ your snacks to eat at night if you want.

Well done for getting the workout done as well! I was lazy again so now I have to do it after work eugh

OP posts:
MunchkinJess · 27/03/2018 17:13

@ChippyTea16 if I don't do the workouts in the mornings it won't happen . With the baby and the school run I don't get a chance till the kids go to bed and by that time I'm exhausted !

So I managed to have some roast chicken and veg at like 4pm ...not sure if I will be hungry later but will improvise . I haven't eaten anything off plan but today hasn't been well planned at all

ChippyTea16 · 27/03/2018 19:19

@MunchkinJess you’re doing brilliantly so don’t worry about an off plan day you have still stuck to the food and done the exercise!
