Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 4

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/03/2018 21:12

Hello, welcome to the fourth instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost 869 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing! Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

fezzes that is a great quote, really like it.

I haven't done well today - not badly, but not well. Think I need a week or two at maintenance levels to get my head back in the game. Really struggling with anxiety at the moment, which I have had under control until quite recently, and so I'm not posting much, but reading every thing!

Room for one more to the party? I've been doing slimmers world online for the past few weeks and all is going well. I'm a bit of a foodie so this suits me well, I have already cancelled my membership though as the app isn't great and I shall br going it alone with a few free apps to keep track. Here are my first few pounds to add to the pot.

SW 257lbs

Week 2 - 2lbs off

CW 250lbs

Total loss 7lbs - the size of my first dd!

I'm just aiming for the 100lbs at the moment as I was a size 10-12 at 172lbs. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

nicknamehelp · 03/06/2018 19:59

Strawberry welcome.

NoTractors take care of yourself

Highhorse1981 · 03/06/2018 20:15

strawberrypig
How tall are you if you don’t mind me asking?

strawberrypig · 03/06/2018 20:20

Not stupidly tall at 5' 9"

Highhorse1981 · 03/06/2018 21:04

Honestly size 10-12 at 172 pounds? Honestly

ScaredPAD · 03/06/2018 21:11

I have had a few "big meals" the last few days. Weighing tyuesday for first time in 2 weeks and di nt think I'll have lost . Bleurg.

Finding it so hard with sausages and fosh and chips . Easier when kids not on half term!

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 21:13

highhorse what's your point? Different bodies are different shapes and carry weight differently. I was "only" a 22 at 270 pounds. HCPs would often do a double take looking at my weight - I was/am a lot heavier than I looked.

Anyway, welcome Strawberry! I found the SW app a bit shit too. I love MFP, and I'm enjoying trying to maximise my food volume and minimise my calorie intake. Appeals to me to challenge myself.

Fezzes great quote.

Sorry your struggling Tractors. We're always here when you need us. I'll try to post some inane chatter regularly for you. Wink

Highhorse1981 · 03/06/2018 21:16

My point is that honesty with oneself is the first step to successful and sustainable weight loss

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 21:21

Ah, so you know what strawberry looked like and know she's lying, huh? How great for you.

strawberrypig · 03/06/2018 21:24

I'm 100% sure, I still have the clothes and the my fitness pal data from when I was that weight. I'm a little surprised to have an insinuation that I am lying though, maybe check out http://84.22.114.53/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Schermafbeelding-2014-09-30-om-15.18.59.jpg .

We all have different shapes and sizes and hold our fat differently. I was normal weight all my life and put on weight giving up smoking and having kids so I know what is healthy for me. I have big boobs and when I weighed 148 lbs you could clearly see my ribs. Not sure what I would gain by not being honest, pretty weird welcome.

fezzesarecool · 03/06/2018 21:24

Welcome strawberry, honestly this is a friendly supportive group and that coming from me who’s still feels a bit of a newbie on here and everyone’s been really helpful

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/06/2018 21:25

Welcome Strawberry.

Highhorse, does it really matter? When I lose 100lbs, I'll be the size I am - doesn't matter if it's a 10, 12, or 14, but it will be 100lbs down. I'm 5"11, I'd expect to be roughly size 10-12 - but I don't know what my body will be like, or if I'll have to cope with excess skin. Some on this thread have had no issues with loose skin, others have. What will be will be. But we're all here, in this supportive thread, because we want to lose it, so honing in over the potential end-size isn't really the object of this thread.

I don't think you've posted on this thread before - if you'd like to join in, you're more than welcome, but please stay in the spirit of this thread.

Thank you for the welcomes, looking forward to adding lbs to the pot.

Worlds0kayestmum · 03/06/2018 21:26

Hi, I've just seen this and hoping to join in. My SW was 268lbs and I've so far lost 27lbs. Want to lose just over 100lbs to begin with and see where I go from there. I'm currently doing slimming world from home

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/06/2018 21:28

Great start Worlds, welcome aboard!

OP posts:
Worlds0kayestmum · 03/06/2018 21:28

FWIW, I was a size 12 at 170lbs and 'only' a size 20 at 260lbs. Everyone carries differently I think

strawberrypig · 03/06/2018 21:29

Hello worldsOk we are new together Smile Brilliant weight loss so far!

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 21:32

I don't think you've posted on this thread before - if you'd like to join in, you're more than welcome, but please stay in the spirit of this thread.

This, with bells on.

Strawberry I'm so sorry you've been pounced on like that by someone who isn't a poster on this thread. We're all in the same boat here and muddling along together. 170lbs is actually my target weight, and I hope to be a size 12 at that point. If I'm not, then oh well, I'm still 100lbs lighter than I was! Win win!

Worlds welcome, welcome! 27lbs is a great start! Over a quarter of the way there already!

B1rdonawire · 03/06/2018 21:36

Waves to Tractors go gently on yourself, sorry to hear things are tough right now.

Welcome Strawberry nice to have you. I'm using SW too but don't bother with the ap. Keeping my online membership up though, as I find that (via main website) has helpful resources - and I need the accountability of it even though after almost 12m I rarely need to look anything up these days!

But have you had a good time with your family Scared? It's just one or two meals, and you know how to get yourself back on track. Fezzes quote is spot on.

Nickname think your OH needs to go eat in the shed Grin

Highhorse Pretty sure most people are on this thread because of a commitment to "Successful sustainable weight loss" - each of us getting there in our own way. Not claiming to be perfect or have all the answers, but all supporting each other. Are you wanting to join in with a similar amount to lose? This is a lovely group for that.

Worlds0kayestmum · 03/06/2018 21:37

Thanks for the welcome. I previously lost 5 stone on SW and am gutted to have gained it all back. I had a premature baby last year and the stress caused me to comfort eat and pile on a lot of weight this year. Feeling focused now to lose it though

fezzesarecool · 03/06/2018 21:38

Funny how it’s all different depending on height, how you carry etc

170lbs would be me being ‘just’ overweight and around a size 14 (not that I wouldn’t live to get to that goal!) but still a good couple of stone above target

B1rdonawire · 03/06/2018 21:39

Ha cross-posted with lots of you! Welcome to Worlds too Smile

strawberrypig · 03/06/2018 21:40

Thank you honeysuckle in a funny way it has helped as I am now wanting to get to 172 lbs quickly to show my trouser label Grin

fezzesarecool · 03/06/2018 21:46

And when you show your trouser size strawberry I’ll still be going! I wish I want such a short arse! 🤣
