Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 4

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/03/2018 21:12

Hello, welcome to the fourth instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost 869 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing! Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Hello everyone!

Not so great this week I think, but I have definitely made more good decisions than I normally would, and I’m trying to just be mindful and remember that every good decision will help.

Under a huge cloud of panic ATM as we may be moving sooner than we thought, which is brilliant (been waiting for a loooong time, we are being housed for medical reasons) but oh my word I am actually terrified too. Normally panicky anxiety type feelings have me wanting to stuff food in my face. Literally like I’m burying the feeling in food so I can’t feel it anymore. I must not do that anymore.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 01/06/2018 20:16

Stay strong Cagliostro, at the risk of being trite, it's only food, it doesn't solve anything! (except maybe help empty the fridge)

Bit of a ridiculous day at work (not focused at me, just the people around me...), but it's the weekend, and I am looking forward to a good long sleep to forget about it all! DCs are off to ex-PIL this weekend (and very excited to be absolutely ruined by them), so I unexpectedly have a free day tomorrow. I should really do some work, but might just do nice things instead Wink. Fingers crossed for weighing in tomorrow!

Have a lovely day tomorrow Tractors definitely don't waste it on work.

I have not left the house since Monday.
I have not seen another adult since Tuesday.
The poor Tesco delivery man was desperate to get away from my gabbling today! I have everything crossed DD's recovery from sick bug continues and we can actually rejoin the world tomorrow...

In real desperation I ransacked the batteries from every toy and remote control in the house and managed to get the wii fit going this evening. I am so crap at Step it turns out - my brain can't communicate fast enough with my feet! Did twenty minutes of jogging though and although I think it wildly overestimated the distance covered, it was definitely a workout and kind of fun to have the animated "scenery" to watch if only all the other avatars would stop overtaking me

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 01/06/2018 23:18

Thank you B1rd - I think work may infiltrate, but planning some nice things to make up for it (namely some Waitrose bubblebath and Louis Theroux... via Netflix).

Hope your DD shrugs off the bug, and life gets back to normal. Even as a full-on introvert, I know the feeling of needing some contact - it's so isolating when you're knee deep in vom (and poo, if you're lucky) and you can't do anything or talk to anyone. Hope she's better soon.

Damn, damn, damn!!!! I've put on 2.5lb, how does it go on so quickly?

I do feel really bloated at the moment so maybe that's it. Sad

nicknamehelp · 02/06/2018 08:26

B1rd I feel your pain we need human contact.

No tractors treat yourself forget work it will be there Monday!

fezzesarecool · 02/06/2018 08:42

Sts again! One more week and it’ll officially be a stall that I have to power through!

This week I’m clutching at straws and putting it down to day surgery yesterday and being pumped full of fluid

Hope everyone has a great weekend

honeysucklejasmine · 02/06/2018 10:02

Fezzes when I was in hospital in Jan I gained a stone in fluid. Weed it all out again by following week.

Moonlight is this your first DC? I lose track Blush

Tractors enjoy your day to yourself!

B1rd good idea on the Wii fit. I have one in the garage. I still remember setting it up and watching the bastard avatar inflate as it registered my weight Sad

DH having a massage today (present from his parents) so I've got a friend coming over any minute now with her kids. Have moved DD's precious toys out the way because there are some she just won't share.

DS slept really well last night but think that may be linked to his monitor turning off. I woke up at 4am and realised. Oops, I felt awful. even though the monitor is on DH's side and his responsibility

nicknamehelp · 02/06/2018 11:24

Fezzes I think surgery is to blame as I bloated up when I had mine.

Been to the gym this morning the n between being mum taxi I'm going to tackle my mountain of ironing and plan weeks meals.

honeysucklejasmine · 02/06/2018 13:03

Ah yes, I need to meal plan too. Haven't done a food shop yet. I need to do a fridge/freezer/cupboard stock take and see what I can make already.

moonlight1705 · 02/06/2018 13:47

honey Yes, its my first DC and first ever pregnancy......the slight underlying nausea is kicking in so may not feel up to eating much next week.

fezze my DM put on.quite a bit after hospital and lost it very quickly....like you say, its mostly fluid.

nickname good luck with the ironing want to come and do mine

Cagliostro · 02/06/2018 14:12

Not doing well with food today.

Big news... we have actually been offered a specific house. Wasn’t expecting it so soon. OMFG. Excitement and panic. I am of course therefore totally paralysed in anxiety and getting nothing done, I can’t even think. It’s so exciting but I hate the way my brain reacts to situations like this!

One of the best things about the house though (if we choose to accept it) is the location is VERY exercise friendly. Walking distance to town centre and various other places, so we will be able to replace many of our bus journeys with walking. And it’s right next to a huge park. So it will do wonders for the family fitness levels I’d say!

fezzesarecool · 02/06/2018 19:26

Thanks everyone. that’s made me feel much better especially as I’ve now put on lot lot more than I normally would this time of day.

Although I’m no doubt due a plateau soon I hope I can see my ‘real’ weight before that kicks in.

Sorry I’ve not been around much lately, just a crazy few weeks being busy.

So I’ve forgotten to say a massive congratulations to moonlight, very pleased to hear your news! 😄

honeysucklejasmine · 02/06/2018 20:03

Ooooh moonlight that's very exciting! With DD, once the nausea started it faded pretty quickly but I was sick several times a day, the whole time. I'd just get the "5 second warning" mouth watering feeling, then hurl. But then feel fine afterwards. No nausea.

With DS I had very little nausea and was only sick a few times in total. shrug

Cagliostro are you able to say, is there a reason you wouldn't say yes? Sounds lovely!

I did more sewing today. I've now turned two dresses in to skirts. I need to adjust the first one I did down a bit, it's getting loose! Yay! Took four inches off the second ones waist. Thought it would be too small just now but actually I could take off more. Won't just yet, will wait until there's a bigger amount to come off or I'll be adjusting it every week.

Weigh in tomorrow morning. Eep.

Cagliostro · 02/06/2018 20:37

Four inches is amazing as it is! ⭐️ Fantastic when clothes fit and become loose. I have a bag of too-big jeans back to my mum the other day which felt goooood.

Am really struggling with top half though as I need BF friendly tops and my bras don’t fit properly.

We could technically decline two house offers I think. If it was too small or in a bad location or something. I’d say it’s extremely unlikely though. The location is so brilliant I don’t think there’s much that could dissuade us.

I’m feeling super stressed though just because of the anticipation of seeing it. Grumpy snappy tense. I haven’t eaten well today but did much better than I normally would in such a state, so that’s something.

B1rdonawire · 02/06/2018 21:32

Honeysuckle yes, the fecking inflating avatar!!! Is that really going to encourage anyone to carry on? Well done on the sewing, that's fab progress on the inch loss!

Exciting times Moonlight hope the nausea isn't too bad.

Fezzes hope you feel better soon from your surgery and everything settles down.

Cagliostro the house sounds like it could be great, well done on hanging in there while you wait to see it.

Nickname that sounds like a very industrious day! I just about managed laundry and mowing the grass but ... drum roll: we left the house!! Only as far as the petrol station M&S, as I bribed DD with Percy Pigs, but then for a drive around afterwards.

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 08:35

Lost this week: 3.5lbs Shock
Lost to date: 50.75lbs
To lose: 51.25lbs

Woooooo!

Reset your goals in MFP, people! I'm sure that's given me a boost this week! Especially as it's perfect salad weather at the moment in the Southwest at least

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 08:36

Oh, should say, 3.5st (49lbs) target passed! Pretty much half way!

fezzesarecool · 03/06/2018 09:10

Great tip honey! Just reset my goals and now shows I’ve been 200 calories over so hopefully that will get me back at track too.

ChestyNut · 03/06/2018 10:04

Loss this week - 4oz
Total 53 lbs
To lose- 47lbs

3lbs to next goal of 4stone lost.

moonlight congratulations! Lovely news!
I imagine weight gain could be fluid due to hormones etc.

B1rd your Post has inspired me to have a think about my goals and motivation.
I found a before photo and a now photo and I definitely look less huge.
Strange how you don’t notice at the time but I looked like an over inflated balloon Sad
My back pain is 75% better which is amazing.

Tractor I’m struggling with clothes too. Don’t know what i should wear in general. I’ve lost weight but still “look” fat Sad

Honey I’ve got a pile of holiday clothes for my friend to take in as only wore them once last year and want to take them this year. I’m rubbish with anything arty, sewing etc.
I bought a lovely summer dress but when I tried it on it’s a really weird length, mid shin. Makes it look like nightwear! Think I’m going to get it hemmed at knee length.

Well done to all the losers and those hanging on in there regardless Flowers

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 14:38

Ah, fab Fezzes! 200 a day is 1400 a week, which is probably about what your daily goal is now? Really hope that helps you kick the STS plateau.

nicknamehelp · 03/06/2018 14:49

Weighed this morning all all period bloat gone so:

This week sts
Total 4lb

Well done all on losses.

I wish I could see but I struggle to see a button on.

Caligosto moving is stressful but I found when we did it to have lists and timetables in place. But being closer to town and a park sounds lovely.

Dh decided we should go to seaside for fish and chips for lunch. I found a cafe and got a takeaway salad. Did treat myself to a 99 but did walk 5k this morning and all in total limit for day. He is annoying as he kept on at me to loose weight and now I'm really trying he keeps tempting me with unhealthy options lucky I have you lot keeping me on track!

honeysucklejasmine · 03/06/2018 17:25

That's really unhelpful of him nickname Angry he needs to be supporting you. I know dh eats cakes etc, but he does it at work where I can't see him.

nicknamehelp · 03/06/2018 18:15

I know it's him all over.

fezzesarecool · 03/06/2018 18:40

That tight honey and when you put it like that for the week it really does make a big difference. So new week new start for me.

Also I saw a nice motivation quote today that I really liked,

One year, 365 opportunities

Not big or profound but good for me to keep in mind whenever I go through a bad patch in this looong journey!

Nick that must be so difficult. My oh’s on mfp now and he has a allowance of a lot more calories than me but he doesn’t eat any treat stuff when I’m around and we have the same dinners.
