Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 4

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/03/2018 21:12

Hello, welcome to the fourth instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost 869 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing! Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Going to be a long day some up at 4!

On plus side of this I've had a lovely big healthy breakfast which should set me up and made lunch for work and all before 6.30. Going to wake dc up soon so my peace will end.

B1rdonawire · 16/05/2018 10:29

Well done Scared sounds like the exercise is going really well. Great that you're enjoying it.

That is some early start Nickname you must feel like you've done a day's work already.

I've done the first run of week 4 this morning. It felt like a big step up from week 3 (I shouldn't have read ahead!) but I tried to cling on to what you guys said about it being a mind game and I am stunned to say I did it. This programme is magic. NSV this week: ordered 3 summer tops in a size medium and they all fit. They are jersey but drape rather than stretch, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

nicknamehelp · 16/05/2018 19:21

Well today went pear shaped dd spent afternoon in hospital having bloods done as she took a dip again but she was allowed home.

But I'm proud to say I didn't give into temptation in the coffee shop and koko!

PostNotInHaste · 17/05/2018 07:08

Nickname you poor things , hope she improves today. I really am in awe of you KOKOing in the circumstances.

B1rd well done ! It is a bit like magic isn’t it. As I’ve said before I find what I have learned from that really helpful in other situations, especially as I am finding perimenopause brings uncharacteristic waves of anxiety every so often, playing the mind game helps ride them.

Scared great attitude to the eating and exercise. I’d take that pound as a win personally, I lost a pound in week 1. Felt a bit cheated as used to lose a good few in previous attempts but gritted my teeth and kept going. I find it helpful to look at loss per month as mine is currently not very linear.

NoTractors I don’t do evenings any more and am upstairs by 6pm absolutely knackered these days !

Honeysuckle hope the DC’s are better, so hard when they are little and ill and they can’t tell you properly. Mind you that would be a slight relief as DD verbalises every bloody passing twinge and I get a running commentary on her temperature half the time. DS never says when he is ill still but I know if I ask him if he’s ill and he says he doesn’t know then he is. Clothes shopping with birthday money sounds like a great idea.

Welcome Namechanger . I have found working a takeaway or similar in at the end of week helps as if I go too full the fuck it button goes off. But it’s a conscious decision and I think that makes all the difference. We all know how to lose weight, it’s the maintenance which is an issue for most of us so better to take a long time to get to where you want to be but pick up the tools you need to maintain at the end along the way in my opinion.

Well done Meg . Time passes whatever we do and any loss adds up over it.

Moonlight you are the person to kick our collective arses next time we have a thread dip then ! I feel good close to target but in some ways a little demotivated as am slightly over my original target and sort of feel done to be honest. I will keep plugging away for now though as I would like to scrape into the normal BMI range. I think it will take most of the year though and I’m reserving the right to say I’m done at any time.

Otter I hope the hotel is going ok. Glad C25K helping and good luck for the run. You’re body knows what to do even if your head is resistant. How are you feeling this close to goal?

My hospital appointment for today got cancelled yesterday so another 5 weeks to wait to see next Consultant. AF due Friday and I’m extremely hormonal with PMT and very sore joints. On the plus side i’ve started vitamin D after a friend was diagnosed with low levels and it might be fluke or confidence but I’m sleeping longer. Was really surprised about her diagnosis as she is outside loads.

Also there are mutterings of DD going a bit earlier. There is a general recognition that the current situation isn’t ideal, that we’re all coping very well in the circumstances but that a move sooner rather than later for them would be better if it’s possible. Her partner hates his job and is starting to think about doing something postgrad but still knackered after having moved countries already once this year, I do feel for him. I’m rambling on to avoid getting up so will shut up now !

moonlight1705 · 17/05/2018 07:50

So its my birthday today and I ended up having two (salted caramel with yummy melt in the middle caramel) cupcakes last night with my DH as my birthday cake.

It was delicious and I didn't even look how many calories Grin

We did have a lovely healthy Thai green curry for dinner though which should make up for it. Today I'm still going low calorie but work people have a box of chocolate tiffin to be getting through I'm totally going to have a piece

PostNotInHaste · 17/05/2018 07:52

Happy Birthday SmileBrewFlowersFlowersStar

fezzesarecool · 17/05/2018 07:53

Happy birthday moonlight!

nicknamehelp · 17/05/2018 14:27

Happy birthday moonlight glad u enjoyed your lil treat!

Today is going better and I am determined to go to the gym later no matter what if only for stress relief!

BreakingSad · 17/05/2018 15:13

Happy Birthday Moonlight

I'm having a good week so far, even with my DM and DDad having gone to visit my Dsis abroad for a few months, I miss them already, but it has made me really want to make a difference in that time.

B1rdonawire · 17/05/2018 19:52

Sorry to hear your appointment was moved Post, hope you are not in pain while you're waiting? Your plan re goal sounds highly sensible.

Happy birthday Moonlight hope you've had a great day!

I've got everything crossed your day continued well and you made it to the gym Nickname, hope that means a better day for your DD too.

nicknamehelp · 17/05/2018 20:05

Made it to the gym! Dd bit better today ta.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 17/05/2018 20:08

Happy birthday Moonlight!

I'm in need of a slap about the face tonight - walked in on the tail-end of a conversation about plus-sized clothing costing more, got dragged into it when I really didn't want to be part of that conversation, and then patronised like a small child caught with her hand in the sweetie jar, under the pretence of "being kind". Made me feel utterly shit and about an inch tall Sad. However, feeling sorry for myself isn't going to solve anything, so I need a slap to getting a fucking grip!

Kids both have chloramphenicol now. Cooked boiled water just not cutting it. DD especially is not a fan and is screaming blue murder each time. Fun.

I have a sore throat and got v little sleep last night thanks to DS. I've found today really hard as a consequence. Tiredness is definitely a trigger for bingeing for me.

Got caught out by DH's peanut butter. I didn't realise but it's much more calorific than the one we usually get (his is an American brand) so I accidentally used a million calories on it. Gutted. I want something else now but don't have many calories left. Most annoying.

honeysucklejasmine · 17/05/2018 20:13

Tractors that sounds horrendous. What arsehole behaviour from them. Don't forget how far you've come.

nicknamehelp · 17/05/2018 20:37

Honeysuckle I feel your pain tiredness is the enemy.

Holy fck Notanurse* that's a straight to HR moment surely (I write this as HR...) for bullying, discrimination (gender and health) and generally being a total arsehole (HR code for that is "unacceptable professional behaviour). He should try a taste of being publicly called out and see how he likes it. VERY well done for standing your ground but that is100% not OK and neither you nor anyone else should have to take it.

Rant over Wink

nicknamehelp · 18/05/2018 13:48

Notanurse she is happier today and more her normal self and is eatting so I'm hoping we are nearing an end of this episode. Need to get get fit again as she has an op booked next month. Which will help her health. Also Notanurse I had an op in April and to get a date I had to put in a formal complaint to trust due to how long I had waited so that might be worth a go.

I'm really proud of myself that it's been a v stressy week and I've kept on track my weekly m.f.p report looks good so I'm hoping for good news on the scales!

BreakingSad · 18/05/2018 14:03

Wow Notanurse that's just jaw dropping, that someone could be so rude. I hope you get your gallbladder, op sorted soon and I'm not surprised you feel deflated with it allThanks

Notractors Thanks there's certainly been a few entitled idiots expressing their opinions this week.

Weighed in today and 2 lbs loss, which I'm very happy with as the last couple of days I've felt very bloated, so expect AF will arrive soon.
Feeling proud today as I completed the C25K, haven't quite reached 5K (3.5km), as very slow, but still can't believe I've gone from 1 minuet intervals to 30 minutes non stop. Now to maintaining it and my goal now is to run outside and aim for the parkrun.

Have a good weekend everyone

nicknamehelp · 18/05/2018 17:23

Well done breakingsad

ScaredPAD · 18/05/2018 21:43

Wow breaking that's an amazing achievement!! Well done!!

Nickname that sounds horribly stressful. I didn't have anywhere near as scary situation but had a difficult few years after myh second child's birth. Lack of sleep and stress are well known apparently for leading to weight gain :(

fezzesarecool · 19/05/2018 07:32

Just a quick weigh in, it’s been a crazy busy week and once again I’m working the weekend

Start 278

Last week 220
Week 13 Exercise Week 9 Calorie counting
This week 217

Week loss -3
Total loss -60

Goal 136
Left 82
Start 142

Getting excited that I’m 18 pounds off getting to under 100 pounds which is something I didn’t think possible and don’t think I’ve been under for over 10 years

That’s still a way to go but much more of a reality now maybe by September. Time to set some more mini goals.

moonlight1705 · 19/05/2018 09:02

Well done everyone on your lovely losses.

This week: STS
Total loss 12 lb

Not entirely surprised about the result, I had a lovely birthday and didn't count calories. Plus I had an Indian at about 11pm last night....that's my excuse anyway.

nicknamehelp · 19/05/2018 18:17

I've finally lost

Lost 3lb

Total 3lb

So pleased with myself as it's not been an easy few weeks but life never is. Despite dd not being great today ive been selfish and been to the gym. Everyone else is having fish and chips but I really don't fancy it so I'm going to have a mega salad full of goodness- I normally would be the first in the queue for fish and chips!

Well done fezze on loss and koko moonlight sts is still good.

MegJoBethAmyMarch · 19/05/2018 21:29

Hello everyone. I hope you have had a good day.

Stats from weigh in yesterday morning:

Loss to date 46.75 lbs
Loss over one week 1.25 lbs
Left to lose 56.75 lbs

It feels like I have been saying I have 50 lbs in my sights for a while now, but it is getting closer....
