Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... - Part 4

Hello, welcome to the fourth instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the previous threads are here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost 869 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing! Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Gosh have you not had dinner yet?! I'd be starving by now.

We had kidney bean burgers with homemade chips and salad.

LittleBearinaBigWorld · 07/04/2018 20:01

Welcome NaturalBlonde! Good luck on SW, I know someone who has had great success on it. From what she had said though I would be wary of getting addicted to muller light yogurts!

B1rd We had salmon as well! Managed to burn our roasted carrots and cherry tomatoes chatting on the phone to my mum but it was okay.

We bake homemade bread as well but I'm still wary of it.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 07/04/2018 20:12

Thanks all, don’t know what SW is like really, just thought I’d join something where I have to get weighed - keeps me focused.
Also planning to try a Krav Maga class (self defence) used to go 20 odd years ago and loved it. Got to find something I like doing.

honeysucklejasmine · 07/04/2018 20:30

natural I've done SW in the past. I love the recipes on here: twochubbycubs.com (warning - language is very blue) they are quite dirty recipes - huge burgers, cheesy bakes, kebabs... But on SW. So good for easing you in gently if you like that sort of thing.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 07/04/2018 20:59

honeysuckle they sound hilarious- am chuckling to myself already!

Moonandstars84 · 07/04/2018 21:26

Welcome natural.
Dinner tonight was ready made jacket spud with cheese and lots of salad. Nofmally takeaway night. Probably about 300 calls it than has a Krispykreme doughnut.

Moonandstars84 · 07/04/2018 21:28

But still under 1700 calories so all good.

Moonandstars84 · 07/04/2018 21:29

Currently in kitchen dancing to club classics to reach 10 k steps.

honeysucklejasmine · 08/04/2018 07:41

Ok! So, after one hell of a struggle this week I have managed to lose 2lbs! It wasn't easy, I'm still feeling the effects of hormonal changes.

I think I might start reducing the bfing calorie allowance. We're weaning and although it's slow going for him due to his allergies, it will make a difference.

Just as well I made a batch of soup for lunches this week then really!

I need breakfast ideas. Ideally high protein, low carb. Sounds easy right? But no egg, dairy or soya. Eugh. Help!

Lost this week: 2lbs!
Lost to date: 35lbs
To lose: 67lbs

fezzesarecool · 08/04/2018 08:25

Hi all, well done everyone on keeping on plan, maintaining and losing.

No beach, I don’t think it was a 9 pound loss in a week, I think that I was bloated from AF (as in I felt totally bunged up on weighing day and was waiting on AF to get going) so I maintained that week and it looks like I had a big drop this week but I think that was 9 pounds over 2 weeks.

I’m doing 1600 calories a day, sometimes over 1800 - 2000 on a unexpected away from normal routines day and maybe 1500 - 1600 on busy days.

I’m really doing lots of exercises and making sure that at least half is strength, which is now in week 8 I wonder if I’ve now started to build some muscle deep under all the fat and that’s helping?

I did get proper weights this week and really notice in my legs that they ache more with the weights when they wasn’t before. So I’m guessing strengthening/adding weights to cardio is what’s boasting me?

Thanks for the clothing advice offer but I’m now playing with the idea of going for a makeover Juneish time near my birthday. I was thinking about using a personal shopper at Debenhams and getting my hair and nails done. Then my oh will take me out and we’ve got a few events that month too.

Very nervous about the thought of it! But no idea how to dress and what size I am. I was at Tesco’s this week and got into a size 22 but it seemed a bit big. Size 20 seemed to fit to but while it wasn’t tight it did cling to EVERY lump and bump. So I think a stranger dressing me would be the way forward. No idea what to budget on clothes though, I want a few daytime tops, going out tops and maybe a dress. Then that should be fine until the next season? If I’m very brave I may ask my mum to come with me, very straight talking woman!

So I only work weekends and my trousers are now baggy as in the crotch is hanging. I notice it as it’s been 2 weeks since I last wore it. However no comment off anyone yet 🤣 So that’s keeping me in check so although I’m doing ok I’m obviously still really big and have a long way to go before it’s visible to others.

Anyway, sorry if I’ve not answered everyone, got to get some breakfast in before work

fezzesarecool · 08/04/2018 08:30

Great loss honey! I know you’ve been really struggling to keep motivated while the coil’s been settling and shows your determination has paid off!

ChestyNut · 08/04/2018 09:43

Checking in

So I’ve had a better week, back on plan, less cheese and chocolate and.......

Gained 1lb 8oz Sad

Am hoping it’s down to likely ovulation as I tend to gain every 4 - 5 weeks.
Quite frankly I’m fed up of it, weight loss has definitely stalled Sad

Nobeachbody · 08/04/2018 11:32

fezzes, still a great weight loss even over two weeks!
By the way, what does AF mean? I've been racking my brains but can't for the life of me think what you mean! And how much exercise are you doing? Sorry for all the questions, but am so impressed by your weight loss and feel I need to up my game a bit. I'm doing well if I rack up 10,000 steps a day, and have completely gone off the boil exercise wise. I used to be a really keen runner, but that's all gone to pot. To be honest, I fucking HATE exercise, and would much rather loll on the sofa with a good book. But am increasingly aware of how important it is for our health, if not our weight, to keep active.

Honey, great you've dropped a couple of pounds, your perseverance has paid off.

And welcome Natural, you'll find lots of great support on this thread

Moonandstars84 · 08/04/2018 12:07

Af is period

Nobeachbody · 08/04/2018 13:47

oh! Thanks moon for the explanation. How does AF mean period? What does it stand for? Sorry if I'm being a bit dim.

fezzesarecool · 08/04/2018 14:23

AF = Aunt Flo 😉

I’ll put up my exercise routines if you like? You’ll laugh though cos I’ve grown me for very 80’s type stuff!

fezzesarecool · 08/04/2018 14:38

m.youtube.com/watch?v=KCe3ZS7pAC4 1 mile 15 minutes walk

putlockers.tf/watch/7vNLQ2GR-rapid-results-with-beverley-callard.html
Rapid results 30 to 40 minutes

m.youtube.com/watch?v=dU9kzmfKaWs Y plan 15 minutes toner

m.youtube.com/watch?v=ujGr3nrZfvQ Belly Blaster walk 5 minutes

Work day (weekends)
I do 2 or 3 miles of the 1 mile 15 minutes walk In the morning, after work, before dinner I’ve added in weights

Free day (3 times a week)
1 mile walk with weights before school run

Rapid results section 1 warm up, section 2with weights
Belly Blaster 5 min walk
Rapid results section 3
Then repeat rapid results section 2, belly blaster, rapid results section 3
Finish with The Y Plan

After school run, 1 mile walk

While Dinner’s cooking 1 mile walk

Busy day with clubs/feeling lazy
1 mile walk with weights before school run

Rapid results section 1 warm up, section 2 with weights and section 3
Belly Blaster 5 min walk
Finish with The Y Plan

After school run/ while dinner’s cooking
1 mile walk with weights

Some stuff I make up as I go along but every week I’m pushing myself to do a new move. First time I jogged on the spot I lasted 3 seconds and wanted to die! So I think I’m averaging a hour and half exercise a day or something.

fezzesarecool · 08/04/2018 15:01

Forgot to mention I started on only being able to do a warm up.

Now I want to make the sessions more intense with weights and hopefully get to a fitness level to be able to go to clubercise and not be embarrassed Not sure when that will be, but those classes look fun and I’ve read that it’s good to change up routines every 4 to 8 weeks

Eventually I’d like to get to doing exercise seesions 3 times a week but keep the mile walking every day

I know this is a lot of exercise but for me realistically it sustainable for at least a year or so before my youngest goes Pre school and I up my hours at work

Hope you get a date for the op, and an apology, soon Notanurse

Lost 2lbs today - which is the amount I gained last week curse you mini eggs so cancels out the past fortnight, I suppose. Glad to be back in the right direction though. Next milestone is 4lbs away and I would really like to hit by the end of April. Finding the school hols tough though - really tired from working and child-wrangling, constantly tempted to reach for sugar.

NSV - have had two days out with kids, one museums and one woodland, and both times was surprised kids were getting tired because I was fine - then checked the time and we'd been there hours! Until now it has always been me who flags first Smile

honeysucklejasmine · 09/04/2018 10:25

notanurse picture of recipe attached. It's a "hairy dieters" one, you may find it online. Hope your OP date comes through soon.

Fezzes thanks for the links - starting to think about exercise so it's good to have an achievable start point.

Babyhoney slept through (9-6.30) last night then went back to sleep for 2 hours. Lovely.

My dh’s now on board the health train 😄He’s been eating the same dinners as me and I think he’s being careful with his snacks

He ordered Wii fitness or something along those lines, and started last night He did a hours and was sweating buckets He likes it as it’s games with achievements and challenges so really suits him to get him going, maybe that might be a better option for some? He got fruit ninja too and doing the chopping motions holding weights for a exercise that doesn’t seem like exercise thing

I’m thinking more about self care now and need some stretch mark cream, any recommendations?

I really want to try it out but no chance with the kids! I can do my stuff with them around as they join it/jump on my back (weights!) and so can play with them as I’m doing in.

Wii fit there’s no way they’ll let me even do 5 mins of it! Dh’s doing it after they’re in bed

Yeah the holidays are a struggle, especially with all the Easter eggs in the house!

Well done ladies, some big losses there. It's so lovely to see this thread so busy.

I've been absent for a couple of weeks, been in a bit of a downward spiral (I've not even got any reason too), weighed in yesterday and gained another 2lbs. I knew if I didn't post here with you lovely ladies and wasn't honest with myself, I would continue downwards (or should I say upwards).

Back on it today.
