Is anyone planning on starting exante? I have 4.5 stone to loose and thougjr exante may help me loose a little. If you have tried exante and succeeddd feel free to share any tips you have.

Andtheresaw you're going to be very disappointed, my meal are pretty boring and repetitive. I tend to flavour the protein with various seasonings to give myself some variety.

I mainly eat salad (because I actually really enjoy it), also have stir-fries or steamed veg, all with a small-medium portion of protein 100-140g depending on the protein, eg 140g if prawns 100g if chicken.
Frittata

My favourite thing at the moment is roast spiced cauliflower: fan oven 180°c
4-5 small florets
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper
Heat a little coconut oil in the oven
Add the cauli to the oil and roast for 10 minutes
Mix spices together
Sprinkle spices over cauli and mix
Return to oven for 12 minutes.

I have it as an accompaniment to any meal and with yogurt and mint dip (spoon of Greek yogurt with chopped mint or little mint sauce if you dont have fresh)

As I said the meals are pretty repetative it's having different flavours/seasonings that has kept it more varied/interesting for me.

I occassionally have carrot chips but not very often because carrots aren't really keto friendly. This is kind of a treat/cheat.

Hope that's of some help. Sorry if you were expecting great thingsGrinWink

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 06/11/2018 14:33

I've also ordered some of the lo-dough. Looking forward to trying some more varied meals with that.

Has anyone else ordered any or tried it?

Andtheresaw · 06/11/2018 14:55

I'd never heard of lo-dough! Must look into it for 2nd month!
I did used to like konjac noodles as an occasional addition for something with bite. At this point (on Day 5) I'm just missing something to chew. A rasher of bacon would do the trick but I will resist! If I can't at least try and make a decent job of it for the first couple of weeks while the losses are so encouraging then I don't stand a hope longer term. Also, still hungry. Roll on ketosis!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 06/11/2018 17:35

Andtheresaw it's not an exante product. I heard of it from them on one of there emails. Theres a discount code for 15% off till 15th or 18th November (cant remember which) EXANTE15 if anyone interested

Andtheresaw · 07/11/2018 10:35

I meant that I may try lo-dough in month 2: I bought 84 items for £70 for the first month and am endeavouring to not mess with it too much yet. I know I'll get fed up though so may try lo-dough , noodles etc then.

Andtheresaw · 07/11/2018 10:37

Ketosis flu. Feel dreadful. Sooo tired. Headachey.
At least it's working I guess. On with the black coffee!

Peachypips · 07/11/2018 11:08

Hi all. I started this on Monday- can I join you?

Finding the products perfectly palatable, although haven't tried the savoury things yet.

Feeling absolutely starving, tired and nauseous. Really miserable! Waiting for it to pass

Andtheresaw · 07/11/2018 11:13

Welcome Peachy, Smile
So you are on Day 4 on shakes and bars? Have you been tempted to weight yet?

plumstone · 07/11/2018 11:29

So had a cheeky weigh in this morning and was 3lbs down. Not weighing in again till Sunday morning hopefully the first number will start with an 11!!!!

Shakes so far have been fine except the banana one - that is bad!!!!

Frappe, Vanilla, and Toffee Caramel have all been done hot with a spoonful of instant coffee and blended with a stick blender - I like it, and its bloody freezing where I am so anything not cold is a win.

Beginning to worry about next weekend - have family visiting and they are already sending requests for dinners (ideally pizza) and lunches which need to be pub based.

A solution I thought would work is planning to stick to this religiously with three shakes a day, and then next weekend: shake for breakfast, carb free when out and and then a second shake only if hungry!!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 07/11/2018 12:41

This week turned out well.
I lost 3lbs 😀 which takes me into the next stone down bracket 😀

Peachypips · 07/11/2018 13:16

I'm on day 3, 3 products per day and a 200 cal snack which is normally scrambled egg.

So far I like the frappe and berry milkshakes, the lemon pancakes, the peanut bar and the strawb yoghurt bar. Porridge was ok- a bit meh.

Can someone reassure me that I'm not going to feel this bad much longer?! Argh

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 07/11/2018 13:38

Peachypips are you feeling lethargic and headachey, bit like a head cold? If so you usually feel better after 5-7days.

Have you set a goal or a length of time you're planning on doing the plan?

Peachypips · 07/11/2018 14:12

More hungry, feel sick and lethargic. Going to stick with it though and hope it gets better!

I am going to do it until I am down to ten stone, which is 2st 7 pounds. I'm sure there will be a lull over Christmas though!

plumstone · 07/11/2018 14:30

Hi Peachy - that is pretty much my goal, ideally 10st on the nose.

My plan over Christmas is to stick with the plan on the days that I am not entertaining or out for meals - Every breakfast will start with a shake and i'll go from there.

When I did this a couple of years ago i was religious about it - and it worked - 2 stones off in 11 weeks, I had one day off for an all day event - and had to leave early as I felt terrible, had been 11 weeks since I had had a"normal, don't think about it day" with food, and it was a real struggle. This time its three weeks on 3 shakes a day and then one week of low carb food amounting to no more than 1000 calories.

Peachypips · 08/11/2018 16:12

Great we can support each other! If I make it that far

I am seriously hungry and weak. Nausea is the worst though.

plumstone · 08/11/2018 16:42

i'm exhausted and cold which I don't remember from the last time!!! Just had a small nap and - only tomorrow to go work wise this week, hopefully ketosis will kick in soon!!!!!!

Peachypips · 08/11/2018 17:41

Also waiting on tenterhooks for ketosis! Worried my three products are pushing my carbs too high- today had a coconut milkshake, lemon pancakes and a peanut bar, with eggs as my food (man plan).

Vile taste in mouth so hopefully it's coming!

Thisgirlcancancan · 13/11/2018 09:29

Hi,
Hope it’s ok to join you. I’m on day 5. Hoping to keep to plan until the 8th December, I’ve then got a few dinners/parties so will be on and off until Christmas.
There have been some amazing losses. Minnie can I be rude and ask how much more you’d like to lose? Will you give yourself a break over Christmas?
Xx

Andtheresaw · 13/11/2018 09:58

1st weekly weigh in was on Saturday. 7lb in spite of a couple of falters so pretty pleased!

Since then I have had a major wobble after some terrible news and ate carbs and drank wine with my DH. I haven't gained anything but haven't lost either. back on track yesterday so we'll see how this week goes. I'm pretty sure I've kicked myself out of ketosis so I have the 'flu to look forward to again.

One thing I'm noticing about Exante this time is that the consistency doesn't seem to be as good as before: the mixes don't seem to be homogeneous. One day I can make something and it needs a shake of pepper to make it palatable but the next day the same thing has a different texture and doesn't need pepper. Most odd.

How is everyone else doing? Peachy you've had your first week weigh by now I think? How did it go?

Andtheresaw · 13/11/2018 09:59

HI This girl How much are you hoping to lose by 8th Dec?

CWAsDad · 13/11/2018 20:05

Hello. Thought I’d say hi having read it all here.
I started last Tuesday and lost 7kg in the week. Love the shakes!
QUESTION : my son is 6 at weekend and we’re off to Pizza Express. I’ve been so good. Very strict so far having the 3 shakes a day. What can I do on a Sunday at the pizza restaurant. Will a quick pizza ruin things?

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 13/11/2018 20:52

Thisgirlcancancan course you can and not rude at all. Want to end up between 11st -11st 7lb, so 6.5lb - 13.5lb to go.
I'm taking Christmas off entirely, going to be coming out of ketosis so figure I may as well enjoy it and jump back on the wagon in the new year.

CWAsDad
Will a quick pizza ruin things? From my perspective it would because the carb content of a pizza is very high so would kick you out of ketosis, that's one of the main things that's kept me going, knowing I'd then probably have to get though week one keto flu stage. Depends on whether it's a price worth paying for you.
Great loss by the way.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 13/11/2018 20:55

Great week one loss Andtheresaw
Sorry you've had some bad news, hope you manage to get back on track.

Runningishard · 13/11/2018 20:57

I lost 1.5 stone in 4 weeks but put it back on. At the time my life was very insular so v easy for me to spend 4 weeks solid on 3 shakes a day. Now my life is different and would be impossible to commit to

Thisgirlcancancan · 13/11/2018 22:42

Well done on the losses Andtheresaw and CWAsDad
You’re so close now Minnies could be doable by Christmas. Makes me wish I’d started this earlier in the year but better later than never!
I’m ideally hoping to lose a stone and a half by the 8th, when I have a party to go to. Planning on sticking to it on the days when we’re not seeing family/friends over Christmas. Really nice to have this group for support.
Xx
