Thisgirlcancancan
I'm in week 4 but been off it since Saturday due to a weekend away....lost 1st 4lb so far and what I found at the weekend was how much my stomach has shrunk. I haven't eaten good choices and I haven't really enjoyed any of it as it made my tummy hurt and so bloated...glad to be back on plan today!
Everyone is doing so well...let's keep going 💁🏼‍♀️

Thisgirlcancancan · 14/11/2018 14:11

That’s a great loss Idont but even better that you’re back on track today, sometimes that’s the hardest thing after a weekend of normal food.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 14/11/2018 20:45

Stayed the same this week. Little dissapointed because I've been on plan all week but I had a much better loss last week than I deserved so trying to be positive and piggy back off last weeks result.

Interesting that you felt I'll after eating "normal" food Idontneedyourjudgement

Thisgirlcancancan I'm worried I won't hit my target by Christmas now I've not had a loss this week.

Sparrowlegs248 · 14/11/2018 21:00

Hello, newbie here. I've just had a look at the range online and think8ng of ordering a 4 week bundle. Can anyone recommend anything in particular? And do I just have 3 items per day, whichever ones I choose?

Thisgirlcancancan · 15/11/2018 14:52

Hope everyone’s having a good day. Minnies you’ve done amazingly that even if you don’t hit your goal by Christmas you should be really proud of yourself. Have you bought a whole new wardrobe yet?
Notta I’ve been having a choc shake for breakfast and another one at dinner time and a caramel crunch bar for lunch. They are ok, I make up the shake with lots of ice and a glug of water and blend it so it’s like ice-cream, it feels more like I’m eating something rather than just swallowing a drink. Really fancied something savoury yesterday so have ordered some sweet and sour noodles and the Indian curry, will let you know what they’re like when they arrive. I’ll need to have lunch with my in laws on Sunday ( will struggle to get out of it) they’ve suggested Pizza Express so have looked at carb content of things on menu and will go for the Chicken Cesar Salad with no croutons or dough sticks, comes in at 20g of carbs so similar to a shake or bar.

plumstone · 16/11/2018 09:16

Well, another I have lost 5lbs in the last ten days - which I am delighted with. For three days - there was normal food for one meal each day. So all in all very happy. The next three weekends will be challenging, as I have one meal out for at least Saturday and Sunday this weekend and the next two.

Planning to go with shakes for the meals that I am not socialising with and then go for smaller portions of LC options.

Peachypips · 16/11/2018 14:16

First weigh in last Monday and lost 8 pounds!

Found it much easier this week, and looking forward to my Monday weigh-in.

Re pizza express, I'd have a salad to avoid coming out of ketosis.

Well done all for weight loss.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 16/11/2018 14:44

Thisgirlcancancan thanks. Haven't bought a new wardrobe but it feels like it. When I got too fat for clothes I'd put them away because I'd always swear I'd get back into them. I've got so much stuff now my wardrobes groaning under the pressure 😁

Great losses for plumstone and Peachypips

Had a bad day yesterday, I hit the smarties, so mad with myself, hoping I haven't come out of ketosis but think I probably have.
Head back in the game today.

Idontneedyourjudgement · 16/11/2018 18:53

Fantastic weight losses all!
I hold my head in shame....I'm only back on it again today after my weekend away and the food I have eaten wasn't good choices.....failed the last 2 nights come tea time and fighting the urge tonight.....I felt amazing this time last week and now I feel like a big fat failure 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thisgirlcancancan · 17/11/2018 22:54

Had the Indian curry this afternoon and really didn’t like it, even the thought is making me gag.
Idont we’ve all been there, trying to get back on it when you’ve had a few of days off. Hope you’re having a better couple of days.
Great losses Peachy and Plum
Minnies so lovely being able to fit into clothes you’ve not worn in a while, very exciting, well done you.
Off to Pizza Express tomorrow, determined not to falter from my plan of salad with no dough sticks. Found the last few days hard and don’t want to undo any of my good work.

SmallDalek · 18/11/2018 13:22

Please can I join in. Just started first day today and haven’t used Exante before. I’ve a stone to lose. Had a chocolate bar for breakfast and a coconut shake just now. I thought the shake was vile. So sweet and cloying. Bleugh. I’ve ordered 2 weeks worth of supplements and thought I’d see how I get on. I’m feeling a bit daunted at the thought of it especially as I hated the shake. I had to have a satsuma to take the horrible taste away.

Peachypips · 18/11/2018 17:17

If you are going to fall off the wagon then Smarties are a good way to do it !

Idontneed- it's easy to feel like a failure, but don't let that push you into going backwards. You aren't a failure- keep your head up and dig deep! Think how good you'll feel if you get to the end of this week having stuck with it.

Small- the food isn't great but it's a means to an end. Treat it like a course of medicine you have to take for a few months.

I'm feeling sad today. Cooking a roast for my family and I'm having a fucking bar that makes me fart.

SmallDalek · 18/11/2018 18:09

peachy thinking of the food as medicine is a really good idea. I did enjoy the bar I had for breakfast though and am breaking out a daal pot this evening. No idea what to expect there. I love daal when I make it or eat it at a restaurant. Have a feeling it’s not going to hit the spot like those do . I can totally understand the sadness at cooking a roast dinner and eating a bar instead ☹️

Thisgirlcancancan · 18/11/2018 19:21

small if you have a blender I would suggest making the shake we lots of ice and about half the water, it makes them turn into a sort of ice cream consistency and you can eat with a spoon so feels more like a meal and takes longer. I’ve only ever tried the chocolate shake though, which is ok. They changed the recipe in the summer and I prefer the old one more but needs must and all.
Good news for me in that I stuck with my plan at Pizza Express, so proud of myself.
Hope everyone’s having a good weekend.

SmallDalek · 18/11/2018 19:37

ThisGirl well done on pizza express plan success. I do have a hand blender and will get some ice cubes made and try that with the next shake. Am hoping it was just the coconut one that was so vile and the strawberry and chocolate ones are less toxic tasting.

Andtheresaw · 19/11/2018 11:19

Hi All, week 2 weigh on on saturday and 3lb down, so 10lb in 2 weeks. Please so far, that in spite of wobbles (and massive cheats) I've managed more or less to keep momentum going.
Saturday night we had a takeaway. Dc had a friend for a sleepover so we chose a place that does lots of different types of food. The brood had pizzas, fried chicken, fries, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks etc. I am trying but no way was I going to smell that lot which having an exante meal so I ordered a tandoori chicken 1/4 which came with salad. My stomach has shrunk so much even in 2 weeks that I couldn't finish it. It felt so good to have something to chew though, and virtually carb free so no worries about coming out of ketosis!

Small Like you I find the consistency of the shakes really unpalatable. I use them in two halves mixed with coffee, like a long sweet latte. This works for the chocolate, the caramel frappe etc though not necessarily the fruity ones.
If you continue with exante you can pick the things that work for you. I find the daal pot one of the best current things. Not the same as a real daal, obviously, but it has some texture and does at least smell Indian. I will not be buying the shakes again, or the shepherds pie(which I got on OK with when I did exante 4 years ago). The range changes all the time as they bring out new products and cancel old ones, so it's a chance to try new things.

SmallDalek · 19/11/2018 15:17

Andtheresaw wow 10 lbs in 2 weeks is amazing. Do not blame you having the tandoori chicken under the circumstances. The daal pot was nowhere near as grim as I was expecting . WhIch is good because I have about 7 more to get through. I have loads of shakes which I won’t order again. I will definitely mix some coffee with the chocolate ones but the others are the coconut and the strawberry. Shall be taking them in the same way as an unpleasant medicine. Really inspired by your 10 lbs. I know it’s only day 2 but I did expect to feel really hungry most of the time but so far so good. Helps that I live on my own and am not surrounded by people eating around me though,

Andtheresaw · 19/11/2018 16:13

It's a bit hit and miss, choosing what to have. I have found that the packets are a bit inconsistent so something I like one day can be very much more powdery/sweet/thick whatever the next day. I think it may be a consistency issue with the current manufacturer.
I find the shakes to thick and powdery generally but do like most bars, daal pot, porridge, most soups (though some v thick and powdery like shakes so I think and re-season them): eg the thai one which is much better thinned with white pepper added IMO.,
I find the pot meals really convenient for the office, but the black bean doesn't taste of much at all so I add 5 spice powder and black pepper.
I am getting on OK with the cheese and bacon breakfast eggs: certainly not on my favourite foods list but it's a variation in texture which is good.
Small you'll feel hungry/ tired/just a bit crap later this week when your low carb low calorie intake forces your body into ketosis to burn fat instead of carbs. It's called 'ketosis flu' and there is no way of avoiding it. When it hits just power through and don't be tempted to cheat or it will go on longer. Black coffee helps me find a caffeine high. ptw next time something tastes awful brush your teeth to take the taste away. Don't eat fruit!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 19/11/2018 16:32

Peachypips, they were orange ones too, the best ones 😁
Not had anymore mishaps🤞
Well done at pizza hut Thisgirlcancancan that must have taken will power

Andtheresaw · 19/11/2018 16:35

Minnies you are so close! Don't give in to the chocolate! Big push before Christmas. Let all your subsequent mishaps and treats be low carb ones!

SmallDalek · 19/11/2018 17:36

Andtheresaw never thought to brush my teeth after the heinous coconut shake. I just reached for 2 emergency satsumas. Will get toothbrush next time. I shouldn’t have said I’m not feeling hungry earlier because now I am. I want to put off having the last supplement till around 7.30 so I’m not v hungry at bedtime. Good to know I’m going to feel like shit by end of the week. Luckily I have a quiet week. Keep going everyone. After less than 2 days I really admire you all working away at this. It’s not easy imo.

plumstone · 19/11/2018 17:40

Hello All, Why is the afternoon so hard, can happily have the frappe served hot with a teaspoon of coffee mixed in. Then a shake for lunch about 2pm, and then between 5 and 6pm I just want food. Today I have had one roasted chicken thigh and i didn't even eat off a plate with cutlery I just stood in the kitchen and gnawed off the bone like a dog!! Bloody good though. Grin

Weekend was good - had a meal out on Friday night with DF, lunch and dinner out on Saturday - but they were planned and I sat down at a table and really enjoyed it. Straight back to three shakes yesterday and will be fully focused till lunch next Saturday, which I am now catering so will go for carb free antipasto, and salad!

Andtheresaw have you tried doing the egg and bacon thing served omelette style? I really liked it and would mix in some fresh baby spinach for colour!!!

Everyone is doing so well - KOKO!!

SmallDalek · 20/11/2018 14:34

plumstone I reckon afternoons are going to be hard for me too. Tonight I have an evening class and I know there’s going to be Prosecco and birthday cake. I can’t refuse the cake because it’s for my birthday and will be home made and decorated. Will just cut myself a teeny slice. Hope everyone is doing ok today so far,

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 21/11/2018 09:49

Weighed in this morning, very happy.
Lost 3 1/2 lb this week which gives me a total of 5 stone or 70 lb lost in total.Grin

Thisgirlcancancan · 21/11/2018 14:37

Happy birthday small hope you enjoyed your cake.
plum sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Well done on the mindful eating. I think the key is to be aware of what your eating and really enjoy. My problem has always been mindless bingeing. I never really enjoyed any of the food I was eating and always felt dreadfully guilty about anything that passed my lips.
Well done on the losses everyone.
I hated the curry but in the same order I got some sweet and sour noodles, which aren’t too bad and it’s nice to have something warm when the weather is soooooo cold.
