Idontneedyourjudgement good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. i had my first weigh in yesterday..i lost 7lbs, not as much as some of you guys but its a good startSmile im exactly 12st now i guess i wish i had got just under lol

lexie555 · 28/10/2018 23:41

did you find the pancakes as filling as the shakes?

Idontneedyourjudgement · 29/10/2018 08:14

Well done Lexie, that's amazing!!!
I lost 12.8lbs!!!now officially in the 11s (although my starting weight was the morning after a chinese so think most of my starting weight was salt and water!!!)

I think what I have enjoyed most about last last was that I didn't have to take any responsibility for what ate.
I knew I could eat 3 things all day and that's all I did. When I do traditional cc or WW (which used to work for me) I would eat as planned and then eat up any extra allowance I had and because I was constantly thinking about what I could eat I would eat loads....does that make sense.
Plus I'm really trying new coping mechanisms when feeling work stress rather than just eating the stress away in a blind panic!!!!

The lemon pancakes(!) we nice and a welcome change from a week of choc and peanut bars!!

New order coming today with quite a few things I've not tried before and so looking forward to it!

I understand that you don't tend to lose on week 2 and I shall weigh in a day early so my aim for this week is to not have a gain 🤞🏻

Good luck all!!!!

LCHF2018 · 29/10/2018 10:25

Day 1 done here... not a huge fan of the shake but drinkable. The daal pot and the choc bar perfectly palatable however and...needs must i have alot of wine and junk food flab to shift!. Aiming for 2 stone by Xmas....

Corker17 · 29/10/2018 14:25

I’ve lost just over 1 stone in 3 weeks and have surprised myself by how well I’ve stuck to it. I did Total Solution for 2 weeks but am doing something between that and man plan since last week.

lexie555 · 29/10/2018 18:01

ok so i don't know why but i thought my starting bmi was 31 so i started total solution. i checked again today and it was actualy 27 now 26 so i think im going to switch to 800 calorie plan. not because im finding it that hard cuz its actually been a lot easier than i thought, but i don't want to slow down my weight loss not eating enough calories. what do you guys think?

Idontneedyourjudgement · 30/10/2018 12:18

Lexie....sounds like it's worth a try to see how you get on.

I'm day 8 and finding it hard today following my loss yesterday as mentally I haven't "treated" myself....plus I know a loss in week 2 is rare so I'm really trying to fight the urge to self sabotage 🤦🏽‍♀️

On the plus side my order arrived yesterday....lemon bar and strawberry jam bars are nice, white choc and raspberry cookies are very sweet (but ordered 4 of these so they'll have to do!) and the choc caramel bar is delicious 😋

Hope everyone else is doing well x

Idontneedyourjudgement · 30/10/2018 12:19

P.s amazing loss corker!!!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 30/10/2018 13:48

Corker17 well done, that's great

Andtheresaw · 30/10/2018 14:51

I saw this thread today when it popped up on active conversations briefly. I was very successful with Exante about 5 years ago but have put it all back on over the intervening years. Today I bought 4-weeks worth for £70.
It seems to have changed a lot and there's no forum (I used to like that) so can we talk here please?
Things I used to like that they still do: carbonara, shepherds pie, porridge. The soups were really thick but I found that I could split them down and add a little marigold stock to make 2 bowls of thinner soup. I never likes the shakes but I see they have added a caramel latte so may try that with a shot of coffee in to drink hot as a treat!
Lots of new things I haven't seen before, for example eggs and pancakes and wraps (they look fiddly!) but I'm looking forward to getting a flying start to weightloss. Also a great reason to stop drinking wine which has been a bit up and down recently.
They used to sell gelatine powder as an accessory so you could make a shake up with half the water, mix in a tsp of powder and make a mousse. Now it seems they sell the mousses as an alternative when really it's the same thing as a basic shake stiffened. Seems odd.
I didn't spot that they sell sugar free maple syrup until after I'd confirmed my order: for next time though, is it nice? Thanks

EXCITED!!!!!! Grin

They'll be delivered tomorrow so I'll start on Thursday with porridge for breakfast. Also I'll be boosting my caffeine levels on Day 4 and 5 as I go into ketosis as the first time I did it (caffeine free) I felt awful!

Andtheresaw · 30/10/2018 14:58

The one thing I remember missing on Exante was texture: the feeling of real food in your mouth. Is there anything that you could have as a treat that would not undo your hard work and kick you out of ketosis if you want to keep momentum and have a 'spoil yourself' treat? For me it would be salad leaves (crunchy) and tuna or wilted spinach with a poached egg and a pinch of nutmeg. Just 100 calories of something really clean tasting? Is there anything like that which would do it for you?

Andtheresaw · 03/11/2018 09:33

Next day delivery my arse!
It came yesterday, so today is the day!
I had the eggs with cheese and bacon for breakfast and overcooked it Sad. Once I'd peeled off the dark side it was OK though. Sort of pancakey and salty in a 'suggestion of bacon' kind of a way. The flavour is not dissimilar to my recollection of the carbonara.
The packets are different to when I did this before and I'm quite excited to try the pot meals: they will be very handy for lunch at work.
I weighed exactly 15st this morning. Hoping for a stone in November, then see how I feel about a big push to Christmas (hopefully 2 stone total), when I will eat food with my family for a couple of weeks. Then back on Exante for the NY if it's going well.

Idontneedyourjudgement · 03/11/2018 13:20

Andtheresaw good luck 🤗

Lexie how you getting on?

2nd weigh in for me tomorrow (found this week harder and having a day off tomorrow which I'm panicking about...)

Pamelaaa · 03/11/2018 21:36

Hi everyone. I hope you don't mind if I join you. I am currently 11 stone 6 and would like to lose 3 stone to get back to what I weighed 2 years ago.

Just a few questions. How do you cope with the hunger and sugar / carb withdrawl? Any tips to get me through. I am v picky about food and have a really bad sweet tooth. I am aiming to stick to the shakes and bars and hoping that as long as nothing else passes my lips I will be ok. I am going to allow myself a couple of cups of tea each day. Is that ok? And finally how much will I lose in the first and then second week?

Thanks. Sorry about all the questions!!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 03/11/2018 22:27

Hi Pamelaaa

I'll try to answer your questions, best I can anyway.
You will go through a withdrawal as such, its called keto flu, so called because symptoms can be flu like usual only for 3-7 days, this will vary from person to person.
After you get into ketosis you genuinely dont feel hungry.
The shake and bars are very sweet, I dilute my shakes more than the directions say to because they're too sweet for me, so you may be ok with that.
Tea and coffee is allowed, caffeine is ok in ketosis.
Losses will obviously vary but mine were week one 7lbs, week two 6lbs.
You need to avoid citric acid on this diet, so plain water not squash although I know some do have it. Fizzy drinks need to be limited to a max of 1 250ml serving a day and ones that do not contain citric acid.

Hope that's some help, a thing else feel free to ack and we'll answer what we can.

Good luck Smile

Idontneedyourjudgement · 04/11/2018 08:05

Second weight in and 3lb down, that's 1st 1.8lbs in 13 days!!

I've got a pre planned meal off today and I'm planning on limiting my calories but interested to see how I feel after...

I was aiming for another 3lbs off this week, but with today and an client luncheon Friday I don't think that will happen...might change my aim to not put on!!!
If you know you have a meal which you can't skip would you have nothing all day apart from that meal or 2 products as normal and then the meal?
Also, will tomorrow be like day 1 again???

Thanks all!

Andtheresaw · 04/11/2018 08:11

Morning all! I didn't manage even one day without cheating (ate some of the chicken skin while serving the family dinner and a bite of mozzarella) but avoided carbs and hopefully my road to ketosis won't be too badly affected!
After eggy breakfast yesterday I had the daal pot for lunch. Not real daal obviously but actually had some texture and was no worse than any other pot rive I've ever eaten. So two new things tried yesterday which I quite enjoyed.
I'm having the caramel latte made into a long coffee by the addition of, well, coffee for breakfast today. It cuts the sweetness a bit but was still so thick and so sweet that I ended up adding another mug of black coffee and having half for breakfast: I've put the rest in the fridge and will have it mid morning. I remembered not liking the shakes but that first mouthful was a revelation. You shake lovers have my respect: I couldn't have one every day, let alone 3 Grin.
Have a great day everyone. We'll all be slimmer by the end of the day if we stick to plan!

Andtheresaw · 04/11/2018 08:16

Idontneed As long as you don't kick yourself out of ketosis you'll be fine. Eat the meat and veg and avoid the potatoes, bread and pastry. Even high fat stuff won't knock you out of ketosis as long as you avoid carbs. The total number of calories you eat may affect the rate of your loss but you shouldn't have a jump up until you replenish your body's carbohydrate (and hence water) stores.
Sadly this isn't the kind of diet where you can have a cheat or treat day and eat anything you want, as the premise is all about forcing your body to burn fat over carbohydrate.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 04/11/2018 10:31

Idontneedyourjudgement
That's great, well done👏

If I knew I was going to be having a higher carb meal I'd limit products earlier in the day. If you're not going to have 3 products you may want to take a multivitamin because you obviously wont get your daily vitamin and minerals from your 1 meal that you'd usually get from 3 products. If you are keeping carbs low for the meal out and only increasing the calories then I wouldn't be to concerned about reducing the amount of products you eat, so long as you're staying in ketosis.

For me keeping in ketosis has been the most important.
Is keeping the meal low carb an option for you?

Andtheresaw I wouldn't worry about a little chicken skin and mozzarella, they're both fat so wont have an effect on ketosis.

How long have you been going now? Could scroll back but clearly I'm too lazyGrin

lexie555 · 04/11/2018 18:08

ok so i kinda went off track on the 31st and the 1st😔😔i blame halloween lol anyway back on track since friday. i had gained nearly 2 pounds in my 2 days off which i lost again by saturday. totm since yday so im hoping thats the reason my weights not budging from 12st on the dot😣😣

Pamelaaa · 04/11/2018 22:34

Right so starting tomorrow. On shakes and bars and water and a couple of cups of tea. Dreading feeling rough this week.

Will let you know how I feel this time tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good week.

plumstone · 05/11/2018 08:10

Please may I join - I have three weeks worth of shakes and need a stone off before Christmas - 12st.6 this morning, two stone that I lost in 12 weeks of Exante two years ago is now well and truly back.

3 shakes and 3.5 ls of water as of today - hopefully the carb flu will end by Friday - I have a relatively quiet week work wise and hoping to be over the worst by Friday!!

Idontneedyourjudgement · 05/11/2018 12:59

Thanks Minnie... I had a lovely lunch (which did include 3 small roast pots and a small spoonful of mash) and I enjoyed every scrap.
I had pudding too....but my portions were so much smaller than I would have had before.
That's all I ate all day as I wasn't hungry until 9ish and I refuse to eat that late.
I felt very in control which makes a change as 2 weeks ago I would have had a carby breakfast, a massive lunch and dessert and then some tea at night so I'm defo changing my mindset.

Was hoping to stay on plan until Sunday but have a client meeting on Friday (🤞🏻 it doesn't include lunch) but as it might I plan to eat the best I can and be straight back on it again on Saturday...then away Sunday and Monday....where I will consciously enjoy myself 😝

Lexie, I think 2lb on in 2 days is good (I once put 9lbs on in a week one xmas!) plus you got it straight off again meaning it was probably just water...keep going, you're doing great x

Corker17 · 05/11/2018 13:31

Last week was food week and I had visitors so was happy to stay the same weight. I tried my best to be good but there was chocolate cake!

Andtheresaw · 06/11/2018 10:16

Day 4 weigh in -5lb! I know it doesn't count for much as it's mostly water but it is great to have an early boost.

Food reviews:
After success of daal pot I was very disappointed in beef and black bean pot. Tasted of neither beef nor bean and consistency was grim,. I added 1/3 beef stock cube and a big pinch of Chinese 5 spice and chilli to give it some flavour.
Chicken and leek soup very nice
Thai red curry soup powdery and flavourless. Added more water and half a teaspoon of white pepper to give a thai influence. Disappointed.
Peanut butter bar powdery but edible
I've just had a lemon bar for brunch today and really enjoyed it. I'm in the office so a daal pot for lunch. (I'm going to only eat ones I know need minimal prep at work).
Minnie please could you share some of your evening meals? I'm pretty sure I can make it more or less through the first month but will need to bend the rules from then. What kind of things do you have? All advice gratefully received as it was my inability to bend without breaking the rules that was my downfall last time. You have done so well to keep it going for so long so please share your wisdom. Thanks
