Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017-18 - Part 3

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 27/09/2017 19:49

Hello, welcome to the third instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017’ thread. As we’re getting closer to the end of 2017, I’ve added 2018 for good measure Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the first and second threads are here: Part 1 and here: Part 2

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way Wink Collectively, we’ve lost 612 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread, I will make one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals.

And with that, I'm off to spam our old thread to fill it up Grin

Good news first I'm checking in with a loss of 3 pounds this week!

At weekend I'm going to a 4DX cinema where the seats move for effects with the film.
I never would have been able to go before as there is a weight limit of 120kg but I'm currently at 115.5kg and I'm panicking a bit thinking with shoes on and clothes on that will add a few pounds on and what if I'm too heavy for the seat. What if the weight limit is wrong?
Does anyone else overthink things like this?

I can't wait till I'm normal size where I don't have to worry about things like this

Nicpem1982 · 19/10/2017 07:40

Thought I'd check in after an epic fail yesterday, ended up at a corporate event last night and diet went out of the window! Ended up eating and drinking all of the wrong stuff

Determined to get back on track

BoredOnMatLeave · 19/10/2017 08:34

Can I ask what KOKO means?

I pushed myself into walking in the rain yesterday, once I got out there it didn't bother me, DD seemed cosy with the rain cover on so we ended up walking everywhere and didn't use the car all day. Something that never used to happen.

Total to lose 91lb
Loss this week 5lb
Loss to date 16lb
Left to lose 75lb

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 19/10/2017 09:44

KOKO means ‘keep on keeping on’ (or kicking on, as I’ve also seen it) - basically just keep going!

Well done on the walking, it really helps me - not that I have too much choice these days, since DH and I separated, I no longer have the car!

nicpem - today is a new day Smile Maybe make a plan of how you would do things differently next time? Things like the better choices you could make next time. I find it’s counterproductive for me to eat a small lunch before an evening event, as I think ‘well I had less at lunch so I’m starving and can eat more now’ but friends of mine find the opposite works for them - depends on your mind set I suppose.

Well done on the loss BoredOnMatLeave and Sillysausage

Welcome Toomuchchocolate I did wonder what plan was allowing that much calories for cakeWink

AF has arrived which has had me reaching for more carbs, in particular toast. But as I don’t eat very much bread it’s really boating me out and makes me more sluggish. Think I’ll change to maintenance so I avoid any more carnage.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 19/10/2017 17:06

I'm a twat...I had a comically shit day yesterday so what did I do today? Ate and ate and ate

Fucking Hell, I'm so stupid

And I now don't have access to MFP whilst my phone is being repaired so I don't know what I'm going to do

MintyChops · 19/10/2017 18:52

Have had a crappy couple of weeks, sprained my ankle so no exercise and then one of the dogs got hit by a motorbike and has nerve damage to his leg and may need to have it amputated. Poor little thing is only one, a big puppy really. I comfort- ate and -drank and didn't weigh myself last week.

So this week I weighed myself:

Week 3
Total to lose - 100lbs
Loss this week (well, 2 weeks really) - 1.5 lbs
Loss to date - 4.25lbs
Left to lose - 95.75lbs

I'm really pleased with that, considering the last two weeks it's very surprising.

MintyChops · 19/10/2017 18:54

Oh Lego, sorry you are having a shite time. You are not a twat, you are just human. When will you get your phone back?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 19/10/2017 20:10

Thank you minty I'm so scared I'll never be able to do this.

3 weeks and if it isn't fixed under warranty then it's £360 and a further 3 weeks...it's my one nice thing and I'm just so fed up of everything right now and then I carry on killing myself with food....I am a total failure at everything right now

PostNotInHaste · 19/10/2017 20:59

Minty well done, especially given the circumstances. I hope you get some good news about your dog.

Lego, you're not stupid, old patterns are really really well ingrained and we all fall back into them whilst doing this. The really really important thing is to keep going. There will always be a lot of events out of our control, sadly that's life. But what we can do is control how we react to them. That's a big deal as we're asking ourselves to unlearn years of behaviour and like anything new it will take practice and time.

You can't access MFP on whatever you used to post the last message (apologies if that is a really silly question) ? If not then maybe write it down for now, that can act as a bit of a brake.

BreakingSad good plan on maintenance. Bread bloats me as well, I have developed a taste for rice cakes as a replacement most of the time now.

Well done on the losses Boredonmaternityleave and Sillysausage

NoTractors pain about the car but I guess the whole silver lining thing applies here !

Nicpem how has today gone?

Notanurse great people are noticing but definitely strange of your boss! I find it goes through phases, no one says anything then all of a sudden everyone seems to.

welcome Toomuchchocolate

Thank you all very much for the birthday wishes.

Hi everyone!

Had a silly busy last few weeks, which has meant I have had the time/energy/inclination to put my heart into losing weight. I've had good days, bad days and mediocre days and have balanced out STS. Which I know isn't the end of the world, but it's not great either!

I need to get my fat arse back to the gym :) It's win-win for me as it means I don't want to waste my efforts working out by eating badly.

Glad to see everyone is still active on the thread and there are even more new people. Will try and catch up properly now.....

Nicpem1982 · 21/10/2017 08:14

Hi everyone

Week 2,

Total to lose 90lb

Weekly loss 4.5 lb

Total loss 8. 5lb

Total left 85.5 lb

Favourite new recipe of the week

Sweet chilli and prawn noodles

Good luck xx

Nicpem1982 · 21/10/2017 08:17

Post- had a manic couple of days with a few long days at work but it's half term ow so work should be quieter.

My only saving grace was I managed to batch cook a few meals and premake lunch so I managed to have a better end to the week so I'm feeling optimistic x

Hope every one is having a good few days

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/10/2017 15:04

Week 17
Starting weight 100kg
current weight 88.3kg
this week's loss 1.4 kg

I haven't been on MN very much this week, just the odd check while I've waiting at school to pick up. DS is still causing strife, and the school is saying that he may not be able to stay. Which is probably some sort of record for them as it's not even halfway through his first term yet. Hmm

Welcome to TooMuchChocolate and KOKO to all the losers. One more week to get through and then it's half term, so hopefully more time for internet chit-chat then.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 22/10/2017 00:12

Ive just stood on my scales and ot turns oit theres at least a 3Ib difference depending on wjere I put them in the house.

So my starting weight might not even be right-does it make a huge difference at 300+Ib?!?

if I put them in the same place as last time then ive lost 13Ib in 2 weeks...but it could just be 10!

bollocks! What do I do?! I really dont fanxy going on the scales in boots in the middle of the store

ChestyCoffin · 22/10/2017 09:37

Loss this week- 2lbs
Total loss- 45lbs
To lose- 55lbs

Nearly half way!
Still super stressed, DM had scan which showed some thickening to womb lining so now we have to wait for appointment for hysteroscopy. So frustrating as up to a month ago scan/ hysteroscopy/ consultant was at same appointment within 2 weeks.

So we wait and our holiday looms ever closer Sad
I'm quite proud that so far I'm dealing with it all without comfort eating So far.......

Lego I had that with my old scales so bought some new ones. I always weigh in the same spot though. I'd go with the weight from having scales in same place.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 22/10/2017 09:54

Chesty you're doing so well, stay strong! Well done to you other losers too Smile

lego - like chesty, I keep my scales at the same spot - they sit propped up out of the way most of the time, but there's a spot on the bathroom tiles when they're being used. Hard surfaces are better than carpet I think, you might need to do some experimenting - a friend of mine keeps hers under the sofa, as the floor is most level in her living room Grin

notanurse what a worry, fingers crossed for her appeal.
Where abouts are you? I'm east yorks and it's raining and blowing a gale.

AnotherOtter · 22/10/2017 16:57

Can I join too please? Been lurking for a while.

Starting weight: 17st3/241lb
Current weight: 13st6.6/188.6lb
Loss this week: 0.4lb

Pretty much been the same weight for the last ten days (I'm a daily weigher). Hoping it's pre-period nonsense but feeling a bit despondent about it.

Well done to the people who have lost this week and Flowers to those who are struggling. Chesty, my DM had the same problem as yours last year and had to have a hysteroscopy and biopsy. It took about a fortnight to get the biopsy result where I live. Hers was thankfully okay but it's pretty worrying while it's happening.

swlondonnanny · 23/10/2017 07:19

Morning everyone
Monday morning weigh in for me
Current weight 102.3kg
Week 32 -0.7kg

Sillysausage123 · 24/10/2017 14:35

Update -after a rubbish workout on Saturday where I felt I couldn't do half of what I normally do and my heart wasn't in it and I decided not to do any exercise for a few days to recover. I think I had overdone the exercise and my body does need rest days.
Well today I was able to jog for 20 mins on the treadmill which for me is like running a marathon!
7 weeks ago I would have struggled to walk on the treadmill for 20 mins and it's funny on Saturday I was struggling to jog for 5 mins so rest does help
Food wise I have been good apart from a treat at Burger King but I'm feeling positive as I'm not giving up after I've had a big treat and blowing it like I usually do.
How is everyone else doing?
