Anyone doing one at the moment?

I've started exante this morning. Last year I lost 3 stone with Cambridge but Exante is loads cheaper. No meeting though so I need moral support if any one can give it!

Starting weight 249.2lb. Awful I know so no need to tell me.

Very exciting OhHolyFuck, let us know how you get on!

Juliecloud · 08/01/2018 10:22

I’m starting the Cambridge diet tomorrow. I have at least 2 stone to lose, 3 would be better. I have a big family wedding in March so I’d love to lose a good chunk of it by then. I’m very worried about sticking to it though, I hope I can manage it.

Can you have black tea and coffee in the first week?

Cassimin · 08/01/2018 10:27

Anyone on exante?
Starting today. Can't really understand the meal plans though.
Planning on shake in the morning, bar at lunch with a coffee and meal at night. Chicken and veg.
Does this sound right?

Buxtonstill · 08/01/2018 11:53

Oh holyfuck ! Hope you get on ok. Do your clothes feel a little looser?
Juliecloud - you can do it by March. Don't think of this as a big picture. Focus on getting through the day tomorrow, then challenge yourself to get to Friday, then Monday. Take your waist measurement today, then again next week!
Cassimin I don't exactly know the instructions on exante. If you are on facebook, join the exante group. I find it really motivating and there will be lots of people who can answer your questions. Plus it is a closed group, so none of your friends on facebook can see you're a member, or anything you write on the page. I know you have to drink lots of water though. There are so many success stories on there!

We can be all be down 2 stones by Easter if we stick at it!!!

I think it's about 11lb... I have a lot to lose but still, that's a good start?!

Buxtonstill · 08/01/2018 14:53

HolyFuck, thats brilliant! I too have a lot to lose (about 9 stones) but I'm breaking it down. My next goal is to get past the 18's. so losing about 12lbs. If I try hard enough I can maybe do it in 3 or 4 weeks. Then Im looking at 17. Thats when my new jeans will fit.

Kittensgalore · 08/01/2018 18:23

Cassimin - I'm doing exante but I've only just started and to be honest I'm not too sure what I'm doing. I'm trying to do the total plan, so three products a day but think I will switch to the flexi plan after a couple of weeks. I've just joined the Facebook group today so hopefully that will help.

oh holyfuck- 11ibs is amazing, well done! That is surely some incentive to keep going.

I've had a good day today, just need to drink some more water before bed. Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Cassimin · 08/01/2018 18:50

Thanks for the replies, have joined the FB group, found some ideas for meals.
Going to try shake for breakfast, bar for lunch and low carb high protein for dinner.
Got to be better than what I usually manage to go through.
Got my daughter on it too. We're both walking around looking rather pathetic because we're starving!
Should get better in a couple of days.

OhHolyFuck · 08/01/2018 19:14

Thanks guys! It is an incentive to keep going but god I miss chewing! Everything is shakes/soup/slop!

Buxtonstill · 09/01/2018 13:19

Scales stayed the same this morning, but not disheartened. For anyone else that comes across this, google 'diet whoosh effect' It explains why , even if you stick rigidly to a diet, you can stay the same for a few days and then drop pounds overnight. Currently got the chest/throat lurgy thats doing the rounds. Unfortunately it has not killed my appetite, so eating the plan as normal. Have a great day everybody.

Kittensgalore · 09/01/2018 17:47

Thanks Buxton, that's helpful. So long as there is a 'whoosh' by Friday I'll be happy!

Have managed at work Ok today with porridge and a soup. Have drank almost 3 litres gradually as well. Am so hungry now though and literally cannot stop thinking about food and all things related, it is consuming my mind- really need that to stop!!

Juliecloud · 09/01/2018 19:04

I started today. I saw my Cambridge consultant this morning I managed not to eat until lunch time, then I had a bar about noon and a shake about 4pm. I’m not hungry yet. I was surprised how filling the bar was compared to an alpen bar!!
I’m going to have a shake this evening.
I feel ok today. What’s the worst day? Day 3? Day 4?

Juliecloud · 09/01/2018 19:05

I have also drank loads of water. I found it really hard not having a small nibble of food when I was making dinner for everyone else. It’s made me so aware how much I snack/nibble all day long. The number of times today that I’ve stopped myself from reaching for a few grapes or whatever!

Buxtonstill · 10/01/2018 11:45

18:10.6! That’s around 6lb loss. I’m more than happy with that for first week loss! Julie, the first week can be a bit ropey, but push through it. As you get results you start to feel much better. Why not try chewing some gum when serving food? A stray bit of fish finger will taste vile with some spearmint gum! Kittens, the constant thinking of food will pass. Try thinking of that new outfit you are going to be wearing when you are couple of months down the line. You felt rubbish enough to want to make this change. Don’t go back to feeling rubbish - you can do this!

Juliecloud · 10/01/2018 12:24

Wow that’s great Buxtonstill!

I had a shake last night about 8pm and didn’t eat until just now when I had another shake. I’m going to try to do 16 hours fasting along with CD, so hopefully I can stick to both!

Kittensgalore · 10/01/2018 12:42

That is brilliant Buxton, well done and it sounds like you have had some lovely real food along the way too, your plan sounds great.

I think I will try chewing some gum particularly when I'm serving the kids food. I had a mouthful of chicken korma yesterday Blush and some ham, which is allowed but the Korma definitely isn't!

All around the kids tea time so will try some gum tonight. I'm the same though Juliecloud, I reckon I was just pretty much grazing throughout the day, it's pretty much automatic that as soon as I prepare anything for the kids I put some of it in my mouth at the same time. Hopefully doing this will crack that very bad habit.

Juliecloud · 10/01/2018 16:46

Yes I’m hoping that too. I am worried about piling the weight back on as soon as I stop doing this but I’m hoping I can identify enough habits to change so that doesn’t happen!

Buxtonstill · 11/01/2018 13:26

Don’t worry about what may happen in a few months time. I lost almost 4 stones last year. I went on a months holiday then had Christmas to face. My healthy eating went out of the window at Christmas I’m sorry to say. And that’s why I put on just over a stone. But I tried not to lose sense of achievement that losing all that weight felt like, and that is pushing me on and motivating me. Maybe I will feel even less inclined to stuff my face next Christmas because I am determined to lose another 4 stone this year. You all deserve to have that feeling of achievement , and you can do it too.

Kittensgalore · 12/01/2018 09:59

I'm loving your positivity Buxton, it's really helping me. I am on day 7 today and have a 7ib loss. I have to say I don't really feel any different, in fact yesterday I felt positively bloated after a flat white moment in CostaGrin.

I know next week will be much less but even if I can just lose another 1 or 2 ibs by next Friday I could be 9 down, which would be fab.

We are due to go to pizza express tomorrow which is bothering me. I'd much rather not obviously but the kids are looking forward to it.

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

Snap8TheCat · 12/01/2018 11:35

Can I sneak back in? Blush

I’ve restarted (again!) last Monday but this time DH is doing it too and it’s going brilliantly! No cheats from either of us and the support and motivation from each other is amazing.

Day 16 of Cambridge and I have lost another 4.5 lbs since my last weigh-in! I do think it helped having my weigh in in the morning...

I am now 14 stone 13, so have lost 10lbs so far. Drinking so much water and green tea has been great for my skin too.

I need to up my exercise, but keep finding excuses...

Buxtonstill · 12/01/2018 13:20

Bugger. The last 8 hours of yesterday, and I let slip. A friend was leaving work and so I had a couple of glasses of wine. This in turn caught me off guard, and bouyed up by a 6lb weight loss, threw caution to the wind, and when everybody went from the pub to a meal, I chose the most unhealthiest things on the menu, and drank more. Yesterday evening, one thing led to another. GRRRRRRR!
Today is a new day though. I should know better. There is a birthday meal next week, and I am not going to drink, and have a shake before I go.
Tip for anyone who doesn't really like diet coke or wants a gin, but not a calorific mixer: order a vodka/gin and soda water and have in your handbag one of those little squash concentrates. The bar is getting money for your drink, so you're not being cheap. If any friends ask, I tell them the truth, that caffeine will keep me awake all night.

Have a great day everyone, today is a new day! Well done Kittens and Tormundsbeard . Kittens - haven't been to pizza express in yonks. Do they do salads or 'protein' meals?

OhHolyFuck · 12/01/2018 13:55

Day 10 of slim&save, feeling ok today - I ordered a new box of only the ones I like the best so feeling better about having a week of better tasting packs rather than forcing myself through the ones I don't like, I've got enough deprivation going on as it is! 😄
Also realised you can make ice cream with them so am using up the shake flavours that I'd rather not drink that way
I'll be weighing in on Tuesday so let's see how it goes when we get there, good luck folks
