Anyone doing one at the moment?

I've started exante this morning. Last year I lost 3 stone with Cambridge but Exante is loads cheaper. No meeting though so I need moral support if any one can give it!

Starting weight 249.2lb. Awful I know so no need to tell me.

Allroads, it’s nobodys business how you plan to do this! I am weighing myself on Wednesday morning and will have a bit of a goal setting session then. Out of the four stone I originally lost last year, I think I have put on a stone or so, from eating rubbish. I will be doing a 3x 200 cal optifast drink, and a supper of some roasted veg (cauliflower, courgettes, tomatoes) and at least 3-4 litres of water. I swim half a mile a day, come rain or shine. I get up at 5.15 in the morning, and go swimming in the local pool before I leave for work at 7.30.. I have been doing that all over Christmas too. And I really notice a difference, when I haven’t been eating healthily, it’s a lot harder!

amusedbush · 29/12/2017 12:03

Well, December has been a disaster and I weighed in yesterday 12lbs heavier than my lowest weight. My intentions of restarting VLCD fell flat but I put in an order of Slim and Save and restarted properly yesterday.

I'm already down 4lbs overnight and feeling okay. I'm off work until the 4th January so I'm using this next week to push through the tough days to blissful ketosis Grin

Hellohelo · 29/12/2017 12:30

Day 2 down 2lbs but I did drink some high calorie drinks yesterday as I forgot that drinks count. Does anyone know if slim and save do a January sale

FruitCider · 29/12/2017 12:44

Hello I don’t know about SNS but exante are currently doing 100 meals for £75 which is mega cheap!

Hellohelo · 29/12/2017 13:14

Are exante meals nice? I really like some of the slim save ones. Didn't really like the new you plan ones, they were quite bland. So don't want to buy exante if they are not very nice.

FruitCider · 29/12/2017 13:30

I only have the bars and shakes, all of which I find palatable x

amusedbush · 29/12/2017 20:38

I personally couldn't choke down any of the Exante products. Even the sweet ones tasted salty 🤢

I tell a lie - I liked the mint chocolate shake and then they changed the recipe 😂

Before any of you embark on VLCD please have a look at rebelfit either online or on FB.

VLCD is unsustainable in the long term. Very well established statistics show that only 5% will see sustained weight loss beyond 5 years and the vast majority of dieters will put back on all off the weight they lost and more within that time frame because severe calorie restriction puts the body into starvation mode and your body is highly adapted to try and get you back to your highest "set weight"

Please please have a look
(I do not work for them but have done VLCD, SW and WW in past and the theory from rebelfit was a complete revelation for me)
It depends on whether you want a quick fix or sustainability I guess.

FruitCider · 29/12/2017 22:58

bigfoot before you come in here spouting nonsense you may like to look at the stats for ALL diets. VLCD is no worse than any other diet stat wise!

Bigfoot1 · 29/12/2017 23:22

Exactly. They're all pretty bad. It was just a suggestion.
Apologies if I offended...

Bigfoot1 · 29/12/2017 23:22

As you were....

Oddsocks15 · 30/12/2017 08:57

Still need to get my fat arse into gear, have been reading reviews of different VLCD over the last few days, but fear of failure is holding me back..

Over the years I’ve tried Slimming World, Weight Watchers, 5:2, Blood Sugar, hypnotherapy, Cambridge, juice, and haven’t stuck with any of them. All I have succeeded with is getting fatter.

When I tried Cambridge I felt REALLY dizzy, is this normal with VLCDs?

I also quit Cambridge due to the expensive plus didn’t find my consultant particularly motivating.

Part of me wants to give Exante or SlimFast a go as most of you seem to be doing really well on these products, but another part of me is thinking about the eye roll I will get from DH when I start yet another diet I can’t stick.

amusedbush · 30/12/2017 10:10

Oddsocks15

SlimFast is totally different from total food replacement VLCDs as the shakes are packed full of carbs and so you won't go into ketosis, which means that you'll be hungry and not in an optimal fat burning state. You'd be as well eating 1200kcal of food.

Day three on Slim and Save and I've lost 6.5lbs of water weight in just two days on plan. My jawline has returned too, which is nice Grin I've done the sums and if I can just wire my jaw stick to it for the ten weeks until my holiday, I just might get to goal.

VictoriaPeach · 30/12/2017 10:18

Bigfoot is absolutely spot on. Look at rebelfit or Richie Howell ... change your mindset maybe.

And as for Bigfoot ‘spouting nonsense ..’

Lol

amusedbush · 30/12/2017 10:25

Why are people on this thread if they don't agree with VLCD? Nobody asked for your advice.

I know what the ideal way to eat is but unfortunately, years of eating disorders mean that I have a very unhealthy attitude towards food. After several weeks of daily bingeing I'm doing what I need to to get a break from conventional food. Not that I need to justify that to you 🖕🏻

Oddsocks15 · 30/12/2017 10:42

amusedbush

Totally understand where you are coming from, I too have years of binge eating plus as I’ve mentioned failed diet attempts ☹️

Just had a look at Slim and Save, when I attempted Cambridge diet, I had dizzy spells and very shaky and had to sit down. I am guessing this may have been Ketosis, is it always this unbearable?

VictoriaPeach · 30/12/2017 10:43

A VLCD will make you worse. Fact.

Why not at least read some rebelfit posts? Might be a lightbulb moment for you. And no, I've no connection to the company

Bigfoot1 · 30/12/2017 11:44

"Over the years I’ve tried Slimming World, Weight Watchers, 5:2, Blood Sugar, hypnotherapy, Cambridge, juice, and haven’t stuck with any of them. All I have succeeded with is getting fatter."

^^^THIS^^^
(And if you flick through the thread you will see this pattern has been repeated many many times)

They don't work. It's not your fault they don't work, your body is designed to get back up to your high set weight the minute you stop and that's why 95% of any dieters "fail" - you're not failing, your body's natural physiology is kicking in!

Anyway, I can see your not receptive, and this was the wrong thread to be on. So I'll be off now.
Thanks for the support Victoria! Smile
Good luck everyone.

Bigfoot1 · 30/12/2017 11:45

And I have no connection to the company either (other than being a customer)

Buxtonstill · 30/12/2017 11:46

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you obviously get off on trying to derail a thread. This thread wasn’t started to gauge others opinion, more of a support for people who decide that is the way they want to go.
With all due respect, if you disagree, and VLCD is not for you, you can always hide the thread, Good luck with whatever way you choose to live your life/eating habits.

Bigfoot1 · 30/12/2017 11:54

(And there is loads of advice on "abnormal" eating patterns such as binging and what causes them - did you know we have evolved to binge? It's actually a completely normal part of our evolution)
..... sorry I really am gone now....Smile

Tormundsbeard · 30/12/2017 17:53

Day 2 of Cambridge Diet for me and going OK.

For me, the VLCD is to kickstart my weight loss so that I can wear my thin clothes again.

The attraction of this thread is the support and understanding.. x

Buxtonstill · 31/12/2017 09:16

Nice one Tormundsbeard! Keep with it. Very soon it will click over from being an effort to being a habit, and you will see results!

amusedbush · 31/12/2017 09:26

Day 4 today and I'm feeling okay. No, it doesn't help that my DH has eaten baked camembert, chinese food and sticky toffee pudding in front of me over the past couple of days Angry but I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't have.

We got a deal on a week in Fuerteventura in late April so now I have even more incentive to stick to plan - swimming costumes! Shock

festivedinosaur · 31/12/2017 09:33

I start CD on 17th Jan.

I've never done anything like this before but having a baby 7 months ago and no weight loss past 4 months despite increasing exercise and eating healthily means I need that kickstart.

I'm very nervous of failing.

I have a supportive OH who says he will do everything he can to not tempt me away from it
