Anyone doing one at the moment?

I've started exante this morning. Last year I lost 3 stone with Cambridge but Exante is loads cheaper. No meeting though so I need moral support if any one can give it!

Starting weight 249.2lb. Awful I know so no need to tell me.

Is Jan 1st the official start date, then?

Wishingandwaiting · 28/12/2017 18:59

Bloody hell, this is a depressing thread. All the money and mercy spent on something utterly unsustainable.

No excuses.... cut out ALL junk, moderate portions and some exercise.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 19:02

Um... actually, except for the Wondercore (which I bought out of cash given to me for Christmas) I haven't spent a penny!

And I don't find it depressing at all! On the contraty, I find it motivating!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 19:04

No excuses, cut out ALL junk

Obviously you've never had an issue with emotional eating. I'm genuinely pleased for you. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Wishingandwaiting · 28/12/2017 19:16

(which I bought out of cash given to me for Christmas

So free then Hmm

Wishingandwaiting · 28/12/2017 19:17

No, I don’t have any issue with over eating. I do sympathise that some of you have a huge task ahead of you.

I suppose you’re at a fork. Do you want to lose weight and be healthy.

Or

Do you want to lose weight, then pile it back on.

Because you almost certainly will going down this kind of route.

Hello - can I join? I did Lighterlife successfully 9 years ago. Lost 4.5 stone ( got down to under 9 stone) in just over 4 months and kept it off easily until I got pregnant and binged on toast! My son is now 8 and I am feeling fat and frumpy. I need to lose about the same amount again and I know I can do it as I've done it before. Not planning to get pregnant afterwards this time though!
I'm thinking of ordering some Exante to start next week as it looks very similar to Lighterlife but much cheaper (and I didn't find the group meeting thing particularly helpful last time so don't think I need to sit through all that again)
Dreading the first few days of feeling crappy until the ketosis kicks in, and worried about the bad breath thing that comes with it.
Would be lovely to chat if anyone else is starting soon and we can be grumpy together....

Hellohelo · 28/12/2017 19:34

I got back on the wagon today after gaining 7lbs (been off the wagon for about 2 months). I will stay on it now, but will have my new year day roast. I need to lose 1 stone, but would like to lose 1.5 stone

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 20:17

Oh ffs!!! (Sorry everyone else). I would have bought the machine even if I was like 6 stone 3! And normal-weight DH will be using it too! I happen to like excercise! 😃

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 20:21

And actually, I'm hoping that this level of calorie control will keep me from going into the binge/puke cycle I usually relapse into every January. I didn't want to say it, this being a positive thread and all, but my piss is well and truly boiled now!

Buxtonstill · 28/12/2017 20:58

There’s always one who wants to pour scorn and take the piss. I am starting on the 3rd of January. I am already feeling geared up by knowing there are other people in this too!

Buxtonstill · 28/12/2017 21:19

There will always be one person who tries to sabotage your efforts; a work colleague, a relative. They get envious that someone has the enthusiasm to make an effort to change. Trying to put you down in order to feel good about themselves. I would ignore those people in real life, let alone be put off by some random whiner on the Internet. If you find the the thread ‘depressing’ then it’s quite simple - hide the thread. Go and find attention elsewhere.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 21:30

Sorry for lowering the tone. 💜

Buxtonstill · 28/12/2017 22:03

Oh no Allroads, I wasn’t referring to you!
It was the random diet expert throwing in their negative opinion I was talking about!

Buxtonstill · 28/12/2017 22:04

Once I have started, I will be on here everyday, good or bad. I feel more motivated when I check in. Bit like writing a diary I suppose :-)

FruitCider · 28/12/2017 22:06

Oh how ironic that comes up on my feed, starting exante tomorrow! Got down to 72.6kg at the end of August, I’m now 83.4kg and only have myself to blame....

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 22:36

With the help of MFP etc, I think I'm going to try to do it without products first. I've written down a rough daily calorie guide, and I can stick to it if I'm disciplined enough.

The average VLCD is about 600, isn't it?

FruitCider · 28/12/2017 22:40

Yes but most VLCDs are done through products. With the exception being Michael mosleys blood sugar diet I think? X

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 28/12/2017 23:24

I get about the vitamin/nutrient balance thing.

Determined now- Monday can't come fast enough!

Solly76 · 28/12/2017 23:54

I'm giving the Slimfast diet a go.
Definitely need to do something as even my fat rolls have their own fat rolls. I have an entire solar system orbiting around me at the moment.
May consider doing Slim and Save
Good luck all

Tormundsbeard · 29/12/2017 05:51

Can I join? Having RTWT, it was the final push to get my act together. I am starting back on Cambridge Diet this morning. Starting weight is 15 stone 9, target weight is 12 stone. Having been 10-11 stone my whole adult life, my metabolism really changed following hysterectomy in my 40's and then hitting my 50's; weight piled on and stayed... A few years ago I went on the Cambridge diet and went from over 15 stone to 12 stone. Afterwards I ate more healthily and exercised more and kept the weight off until last year when I unhelpfully developed a sweet tooth and just started eating more crap and also drinking more. My plan is to get back to my target weight and then follow a healthy balanced diet, stepping up the exercise so the occasional treat is OK.

Oddsocks15 · 29/12/2017 08:06

Thanks for the info about the different VLCD products - I need to do something as even my “larger” clothes are getting tight.

can I start on 1 January?

Buxtonstill · 29/12/2017 09:28

Welcome aboard everybody! Doesn’t matter when you start, how much you weigh, whether you you share your weight details. Try and get in the habit of coming on this thread regularly though, if you have had a good day or a bad day. Writing things down certainly helps me. Some people weigh daily, some weekly, whatever works for you, but do check in here. I start on the 3rd as I have too many things going on this weekend and I know realistically it would not be the best time to start. Good luck to all those starting to day. Remember, drink loads of water, it really does help. It made all the difference with me losing my first few stone. Now got to shift another few!

CW (due to flu) 14st12

Goal 2. 188 (13st6)

Goal 9. 118 (8st6)

That is one HELL of a journey. I either a) pray for another bout of the flu (nah!) or b) get my ass in gear. B methinks!

I'm also on my last pack of tobacco. Moving onto e-cigs. Someone tell me it's possible to do both? (Lose weight and quit the fags, I mean)

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 29/12/2017 10:13

Ooh...forgot to note my "plan". I'm mixing my calories up from 500-1000, then back down again. Before anyone kicks off, I'm actually very small. My lower "healthy weight" is 6.5st! My TDE, or BSM, or B and Q, or whatever the word is (resting calories) is 1500. So I feel that lower is the way to go.

I take a multivitamin anyway. I was diagnosed with an alergy to eggs and dairy earlier in the year, so I eat a mostly vegan diet.

I already know how to slowly increase my calories when I stop, to ensure I don't pile the weight back on.
