Welcome Diemme! Thanks Not, got called at 1am,4am, 7am but thankfully didn't need to go in. Bad earache and headache now. Couch and CBeebies I think for the day (CBeebies to enable my couch time!)

Not2bObvious · 18/02/2017 10:49

Aww sugar, that sucks. Enjoy the couch, CBeebies is a life saver! My pair have moved onto nick & Disney which you cut through your nerves like a hatchet. I'd watch CBeebies voluntarily haha.
Cold now, I think I'll have a bath in a bit, if I can manage to get up the stairs to put the immersion on...

Needastrongone · 18/02/2017 11:06

You can get up the stairs Not Grin. Well done on the class. Enjoy tonight.

Welcome Diemme. Sounds like a sensible calorie intake. Too low, and it's way too hard to stick to. Lots of advice and inspiration on here.

Aw Sugar, poor you. Definitely a couch day.

Waves at Sesame.

I got up and did the Parkrun, as I was asleep last night at 9.15am. Pleased to come in at 22 minutes 30 seconds, as my legs were tired and I have trained a lot this week. Just a cross country to negotiate tomorrow.

Just about the stick some beef in the slow cooker for tea. Having a quiet weekend.

Bathsheba3 · 18/02/2017 11:47

I'm so grateful to you lovely lot. Clung on to the roller coaster, and didn't derail when I so easily could have. Still had the munchies yesterday eve, so filled up on seriously huge portion roast veg + small amount couscous for dinner, and that saw me OK. Meant there was no room for anything else, except small portion pita chips (salty & crunchy, without the fat of crisps). I liked your tactic of early to bed too not! You and I must move in the same social circles Wink!

And seeing that you were still at 11 4 (amazing !) at your class not whilst I was still in my PJ's spurred me to have light breakfast of berries, Yog & muesli. And I've just come back from a 5.5 mile run !!! The weather is really uplifting too. Plus I had a good night sleep.

I'm going to do some gardening later, and out for pub dinner with family this evening. Really looking forward to it!

Hope you do get a chance of some fresh air today sugar, even if it's to take a cuppa outside and sit on the front step. You must be whacked Sad. Dose up on ibuprofen.

Hope you are doing a bit better now sesame - isn't it hard when the head says not to but the hand just reaches for the chocolate etc.

Hope you are having a nice time entertaining jonty. Don't beat yourself up too much about extra calories. Fun times with friends is just as important for the feel-good-factor as seeing the lbs drop off!

How are you Daw? Hope you are keeping upbeat, or as well as you can. You really have had amazing weight-loss. So well deserved, especially with everything else going on. The rotters at work still a pain?

I bet a 22 min run feels like just a warm-up Need? Mind you, I bet you blasted it, and out-lapped some of the others. Good to take it easy and conserve energy for the XC tomorrow.

Welcome Diemme . Great to have you with us. 1500 is a good sensible amount of calories, and can actually go quite far with good food choices. Fingers crossed for your 1st WI! Some of us WI daily, others weekly. I get on the scales when I am hoping / expecting to loose. Hence I haven't all week! But I'm back in zone I think and expecting good things of myself next week. Plus am spurred on my not at 11 4, and so nearly into the 10s.

I've rambled on enough - have a great day all!

Not2bObvious · 18/02/2017 13:41

You sound a huge amount better bath, and well done on your run! You did v well yesterday reeling it back in, I feel mojo in de house sister!!
Lovely and bright out there now, showered now so contemplating a walk with my bigger lassie, she loves a potter around the shops. Had 1 chocolate but put the box away, back to water drinking now

OP posts:
Diemme · 18/02/2017 15:37

Thanks all. That's exactly what I'm doing, breaking the target down into manageable chunks of half a stone. I'm pretty sure I won't lose on more than 1500 a day but will see how I go. Anyway day 1 got off to a good start for unexpected reasons. Met a friend for lunch in Starbucks and had a tuna panini. It was revolting but I couldn't be bothered to change it so I ate it and duly logged the 478 calories. Two hours later now and feeling dizzy and sick and ... er ... running to the loo!

Lolimax · 18/02/2017 18:29

Evening all! Just read everyone's updates and hello to diemme. You can do this and this thread is so supportive.
I've overdone it this week. 2 sessions with my personal trainer as she's about to go on maternity leave, Zumba, spin, Latino and hardcore kettle bells today. I ache! I've also lost weight, only a lb so I'm 11.8. I also 'had' to go shopping (first world problem I know) as most of my work clothes were hanging on me like a bag of shit. Don't get me wrong I still get a kick from being a size 10 but it's bloody expensive hobby.
Off on that assault course tomorrow which is probably a bit ambitious but it did seem a good idea at the time.
I hope you're all having a happy Saturday.

Not2bObvious · 18/02/2017 18:38

You'd best rest up tonight loli so you're fighting fit for tomorrow. That does sound like a lot of exercise alright, and another pound off, you'll have to watch that or you'll be shopping for 8's!
Despite my thoughts on going for a walk, I fell asleep for the afternoon, nana nap time for me. Feel a bit dopey now.
diemme hope you're better now but 1st lesson to be handed out, if you're eating something and it isn't nice - bin it. Save your calories for something better. If you're eating a third of your calorie allowance, it'd best be something enjoyable in my book.
Dinners chicken and salad'ey stuff, the rest are having chips but I'm saving my chip allowance for my homemade burger tomorrow. Already looking forward to it (lips greedy chops)

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 18/02/2017 19:08

Chips are to savoured Not We are having ours tonight, with beef that has been in the SC all day and green beans.

Enjoy your pub dinner Bath, good times with family are precious.

Poor you Diemme, hope you are okay.

See Loli, Bath and Not, I am converting you all to exercise!!

Talking of which, I was first in my age category at the Parkrun and 9th lady overall, 5 of the ladies in front were in their 20's, so not bad for an old codger...!

Not2bObvious · 18/02/2017 20:31

Look at you need flying the flag for us 40+'s! We salute you darlink x
I have to admit to about, mental tally, 10 chips but that's OK, moderation in moderation is a lesson well earned.
Today is likely to be 1600-1700, after the good week that's allowed. Hit my fitness goal this week, back in the zone

OP posts:
Lolimax · 18/02/2017 20:35

Well done Need. I agree Not us 40's plus rock. I was the oldest in kettle bells today and admit I did get a kick from that.
And Need you have inspired me! My abs are slightly (just slightly) showing some kind of definition.

Diemme · 19/02/2017 09:15

Definitely good advice Not, I could have really enjoyed those calories. Yes fully recovered now thanks!

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2017 10:47

Morning all. Yesterday ended on 2000 (arg!) and today's reward was a flux of .8 of a pound - which is most definitely undigested food that's reluctant to evacuate the building, grrr. Plan today is a run to the shops, although my legs feel like leg after going heavier with my weights yesterday. The run/jog will be around 35-40 minutes & then to the cinema. Felt a little seedy when I woke but after eating I'm feeling better.
How's everyone else today? Any nice plans? loli dying to hear how the assault course goes.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 19/02/2017 10:47

Legs feel like lead, obviously my legs are made of leg...

OP posts:
SesameSparkle · 19/02/2017 12:55

not good luck with the 2" challenge!

The binges start with me eating say one or two biscuits at work, and after that I go back for more and don't really know when to stop. Or I eat something tasty, and instead of stopping for 20 minutes to let my body feel full, I just fancy seconds and carry on. It was easier to control when I was still aiming to lose as I could use willpower to physically go off and do something else. Now I'm maintaining, I can't just do it on willpower alone if you see what I mean. The other trigger is I've been stressing over some work stuff - like last week it was a job application - and I feel I need to be constantly chomping to get myself through it.

diemme welcome on board.

need excellent park run time , enjoy your cross country today

bath so glad to hear you are back on it. And well done on the 5.5 miles! Star

loli I was Grin at the having to go shopping... Refilling my wardrobe has become something of an obsession a hobby for me too.... Amazing to have abs now too! Star

Today I have the challenge of a kids party to endure. Being a barren, I'm not usually around kids - or more importantly kids treats - that often. I've started my day with a decent breakfast, but I've already seen that the party table is overflowing with crisps, biccies and cakes - all sooo hard to resist. That's why I'm hiding in the other room with my phone for company right now..... Wish me luck.....!

Needastrongone · 19/02/2017 14:33

Sesame I would hide in another room with my phone at a kids party these days anyway. Grin Would it help to imagine the pounds creeping back on at all? Or not fitting into the lovely new clothes? I think it will all balance out anyway once you get the hang of maintenance.

XC race was tough as I have ever done. I'll post the elevation from my phone. So much mud, tree roots, cobbles, the whole shebang. Streams, frightening downhills. Bloody good fun though. Grin

Lolimax · 19/02/2017 14:56

Well done Need! And good luck at the party Sesame, stay strong girl.
Not the Assault course was awesome. I now officially ache in places I didn't know I had but it was great. We all got soaking and covered head to toe in mud but it was really fun. Something I wouldn't have even considered this time last year.

Needastrongone · 19/02/2017 15:04

Now that does sound awesome Loli. Totally my kind of thing. Be very proud of yourself. Go girl!

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2017 18:28

Sounds like you had a blast loli, bet you'd never thought of doing something like this 4 stone ago!
I know I'm too late to offer advice on how to avoid the party snacks sesame but hope you managed ok. I'm a sucker for rice crispie buns...yummmy. You might need to learn avoidance tactics going forward. I bought a bag of fresh doughnuts for the office last week. I had 1, fine, barely tasted it. Was this close to snaffling another and decided to put them out of sight, have a glass of water and potter on. Amazingly it worked! Out of sight, out of mind. I can appreciate you can't be that high handed in a shared office, but you can skirt around the biccies, avert you eyes. There'll always be temptations, it's whether you want the biscuit more than your lovely slim figure. I know I'm being simplistic, but maybe it is simple and we make it complicated? Sorry a bit of a waffle, ignore if tosh.
So I did my first jog, had popcorn & some chocolate at the cinema, then we decided to eat at the shopping centre food court. I managed to stick to a single small burger & a few chips (with mayo & cheese, I know, I'm a brat) Anywho I decided to try offset it and jog home instead of taking a lift. So today's coming in around 1600 excluding exercise cals. 6 miles of walking & jogging done. And one other big nsv, no wine today!
Glad you enjoyed your run thing need, to be honest it sounded like you were running for your life!! Sounds terrifying but right up your street

Hi everyone- hope you don't mind another one joining the thread? Doing well using MFP for weight loss, but a place for a little extra chat/ support would be great!

I'm currently 6st 5lbs down, and have maybe another 3st to go. Not really sure of goal weight; try to just take it as it comes. The first 50lbs was lost on a VLCD (I know many people hate them but for me, at the time, it felt like my last hope). I've spent the last few months taking a slower road, and made big changes to my lifestyle in terms of exercise. Feels like there's still a long way to go, but am starting to feel quite proud of myself and believe I can be healthy again.

I'm on 1500 cals a day at the moment, though keeping a check on that as I had been eating 1300 for a while and am pretty sure I can continue losing on more.

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2017 21:02

Wow, that's some loss cant (you should do a nc to could! Nothing can't about you!) That's extraordinary and I completely get how vlcd worked well for you initially. You're v welcome here and I'm sure we'll be picking your brains for tips on how to lose and how to keep faith when it's a longer term project. How long has it taken you so far? 1500 sounds good and doable, after losing so much there's a possibility it may take a while to shift that last bit and if you're eating too little, you might get diet fatigue. Although saying that you got this far so it mightn't be a concern. I kinda think if people eat 1400-1600 most days when they hit maintenance they'll be easier about to keep the weight on track by having 2-3 lighter days each week. That's my 2 cents worth anyway. If you've been reading the thread you'll see most of us are working on making exercise part of our daily lives, essential to keep the weight off, as proved in the program earlier this week about people regaining weight after big losses. Those who didn't had incorporated exercise as part of their lives. Anyway nice to have you onboard.
Bit tired now, and as I want to finish my day at 1600, I've taken myself to bed. So that'll add an element of fasting til tomorrow, all has to help (surely she whimpers!)

peachpearplum01 · 19/02/2017 21:09

Hello, please can I join you? Have been on mfp for ages & lost my baby weight on it from baby no. 1 (plus a bit more) and now reached a plateau after baby no. 2. I really
want to lose a stone over the next six months - not too drastic but have been at my current weight for a while, going back to work soon and none of my work clothes fit.. tiredness is my downfall and then eating choc and drinking wine ... so hoping to share some
motivation with others in the same boat!

peachpearplum01 · 19/02/2017 21:10

Oh my calorie target is 1300
and trying (but failing) to do a run once or twice a week, plus some
walling

cantbelievemyeyes · 19/02/2017 21:22

Thank you Not2b - I started last April, so 10 months-ish. Sometimes it feels easy, sometimes it feels like I'm fighting a never ending battle. I've had a couple of breaks where I've felt a bit overwhelmed with it all, and kind of spent a couple of weeks just trying to maintain my weight which seemed to help. I think it'll be another few months before I'm a healthy weight, so I don't want to spend it starving. I like my food still!

Yes, I watched the programme on 4 the other day and it was really interesting. A couple of years ago it might have sent me nose diving into a cake, because I believed I would never be able to lose any considerable weight. Who knows, maybe I'll regain weight or maybe I won't. The alternative is not try, and that's not an option. I don't know how, but something changed in my mindset last year and I realised I was willing to do anything have a longer, healthier life.

Anyhow, I've had a good day- all on track, big walk done and hauled some dumbbells about. About to have a little treat of some maple chocolate pecans- mmmm! Then I may follow the same tactic of early night, to avoid anything else sneaking into my mouth...
