Thanks Dawhead I think I'm just a bit tired and run down after some busy weeks! Going to have an early night (the boring sort!). Not on call so should hopefully catch up on sleep if DD permits!

JontyDoggle37 · 15/02/2017 05:59

dawg the card sounds lovely
Sugar I hope your DD gave you more sleep than Ds did me!
So annoyed I didn't weigh yesterday because I definitely felt lighter and even after the big meal last night my weight hasn't gone up, which is good but I'm really looking for that next little loss lol!
I've also got to be seriously good the next three days as we have people round for dinner both days at the weekend - I've got a three course Italian meal planned for Saturday (antipasto, lasagne, tiramisu) and then a larger antipasto/table picnic affair for the friends on Sunday.
I'm starting back at work today, although working at home, mostly looking forward to it. My mushed wrist has settled down nicely into a big bruise (phew).
Menu for today:
B: Avocado and egg on toast
L: courgette 'tagliatelle' with sliced leftover steak, peppers and onion
D: Fried Halloumi with puy lentils and Mediterranean vegetables
That gets me to 1325 calories including 4 mugs of tea as my 'snacks'. Going to really aim to stick that low, as I think my meals have got a really hot protein level today so should stay nice and full. Off to do some stretches to start the day, have a good one all!

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2017 07:38

I have the opposite problem dawg, I so wish I hadn't weighed in. Truly the sad step today, food bloat has me up nearly 2lb. I hope it's temporary but man, what a kick in the guts. That's the price you pay for the daily weigh...eh?? Glad it's just a bruise you got in the end, you must be sick of all things medical by now.
Did you get a decent rest sugar? Hoping you did. I'm feeling wrecked this morning, no reason really. Will have to peel myself from bed soon, no idea on what to have for breakfast though. Bit bored of eggs at the minute. Bleurgggg.

I haven't weighed in this week. Fearful for some reason! Jonty hope you have a good first day back at work. Sorry DS kept you up, Not you know that scales will be up and down with daily weigh ins. I had cornflakes this morning. Bad idea I know but was in a rush to get out and didn't feel like porridge.

I had a lovely sleep. Almost 6 hours according to my Fitbit. DD climbed in for cuddles at one point but went straight back to sleep so feel well rested. She then got stroppy about wanting to wear a dress to go to nursery in and get paint all over no doubt. Not even 3 yet and super fussy about clothes.

Plan for today:
Cornflakes
Lunch will be chicken noodle soup
Dinner leftover chicken traybake

That's all 1250 so may add in some nuts/fruit. Planning some exercise also.

Needastrongone · 15/02/2017 09:05

Glad you had a better night Sugar.

Don't worry Not, it's just movement. I vary over 3lbs both ways. It isn't 'real' iyswim? Will be gone tomorrow.

Hope today goes okay Jonty. Your dinner sounds fab.

Anniversary today, 18 years. Going for a curry later. But I'm running this afternoon after work, so all good. DH wrote me a love letter and put it in my card, made me cry it was so lovely. Think he's a keeper Grin

Also booked our holiday to the Amalfi coast in a lovely villa. Excited.com.

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2017 09:35

Awww need, that's so sweet! I'm nearly 16 years married so it looks like we were child brides together (haha!)
Yeah I know it's flux but fu*ks - I hate seeing that cause it can be that Tuesdays low was the flux and today's the real one. Oh I know I'm being silly, it's just a slog somedays. Anyway enough moaning, day started with wheaten loaf & cheese, only ate half will have the other half later this morning with a banana. I'm going to eat better quality food today. Omelette for lunch and the remains of my steak for dinner with a small baked potatoes. Keeping it simple. Gym or run later.
sugar as the mother of 2 budding fashionistas I sympathise but feel it only fair to warn you this is only the start, batten down the hatches! Brilliant that she went back to sleep with you, love sleepy cuddles, mine are getting a bit too big

Bathsheba3 · 15/02/2017 10:59

Also not WI'g in for a while. I'm in the zone by day, but loose the plot in the evening. My mind has rewound to associate the sofa & TV with snacking. I need to kick myself back into the right mindset but don't seem to have the umph at the moment. But the bag of mini eggs I bought DH for valentines are still in tact, so that's something!

Happy anniversary Need. Wow to your Amalfi Villa, and to your abs too. Mine look like that as well - when I am lying flat, and sucking in too Grin

Sugarandsalt · 15/02/2017 11:25

Need happy anniversary! The card sounds really lovely, and the amalfi coast is really beautiful, you'll have a fantastic time. We have holiday in May, can't wait already.

Not I'm 34 and barely care about fashion, don't know how I've got a daughter who cares so much!

Bath I've been on mfp consistently for 13 months and have as you know had significant ups and downs in that time. It's so hard to focus consistently for months at a time.

xTinkerhellx · 15/02/2017 12:49

Happy anniversary Need!

sugar mine is the opposite. She's 4 and cries if anyone even mentions the word dress to her. In fact, this morning she made me donate the pink tops that someone bought her as she does not like pink!

Bath I'm the same with snacking in the evening. I now deliberately leave myself a few hundred calories for it or have marmite on rice cakes instead.

So after my fuck it Saturday, I'm now back at the weight I was on Friday. It was helpful actually as although Saturday was awesome it really isn't worth it to me. So hopefully now I will have more incentive to stay on goal rather than think "ohhh it's just one day." after it took 3 days to get back!

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2017 16:24

It's a pain how the weekends pretty much set a few of us back 3-4 days, I would have hit goal 10 years ago if I worked 7 days a week - or thinking more about it may never have become a telly tubby!
Feeling strange, ears ringing and super itchy, headache brewing too. Hope I'm not coming down with something ear infection related. Bit zonked now after mornings work, collect 1 child bring her shopping for accoutrements, then collecting other 1. Sitting here in lagging jacket style coat trying to contemplate next move...

Hello all.

I'm off to Florida next week, so all bets are off. Reckon it's possible not to gain a stone while out there?

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2017 16:33

Hmm, I've done 10-12 pounds some holidays mum, but then as we've established I am a disaster in "weekends" scenario and my holidays are basically 10 days of weekend! Have a fabulous time, I guess just try not to finish all meals, you get so much food in the US - hence why people there take half of it home in doggy bags. Remember when you get home you'll have travel & food bloat so don't let it dishearten you, if you're gone 7 days you'll need 7 days home to readjust. Well jel

OP posts:
MumBod · 15/02/2017 16:43

I'm hoping all the walking around will alleviate some of the damage, Not...

Needastrongone · 15/02/2017 19:00

Evening. Thank you for the good wishes. Just waiting for DH then going out for a curry.

Sugar Where are you going on holiday in May, might I ask? We did Sorrento in 2015 and wanted to go back and really explore the beautiful area.

Mum, enjoy Florida. We did it last year and have done it 2 other times. It's a very busy holiday and you do walk an awful lot, but it is possible to eat well, especially in the restaurants. The parks are tougher, lots of junk.

Oh I hope you are not coming down with something Not, ringing ears don't sound good. Take care.

Tinker, good realisation there. I know what you mean. Good that you are back to where you were.

Grin at Bath. Don't blame you, you need a break every so often. Don't worry. It's hard to focus consistently all the time.

So today I have managed to get a 7.5 mile run done to negates tonight's curry. Tired legs but it's done.

Food.
B - Bircher muesli and fruit.
L - salad, berries.
D - curry.
S - wine. 2 falafel after my run.

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 15/02/2017 19:08

Happy Anniversary Need Flowers. That is so lovely from your DH - good to know there is still romance in the world. Hope you have a lovely curry tonight - and a rest for your tired but amazing legs Wink. Amalfi coast sounds gorgeous - what a fab trip to look forward to! You asked about H and MFP - you must be psychic! I'd sent him the details ages ago, but yesterday evening I got a notification in MFP from him wanting to add me as a friend. I showed him how to copy my meals and he's integrated with his FitBit so I think I'll just be available to help if he asks me and see what happens.

Oh Not that's so disheartening, esp when you've been doing so much exercise. In all seriousness - could it be muscle? Would it be worth measuring yourself? Hope the symptoms are all a bad coincidence and that you can get a good rest tonight to get refreshed.

Sugar that's brilliant that you got a good rest - it makes all the difference. Woohoo for May holiday as well!

Jonty at least being back at work means you're better - and YY to being glad the wrist was just a bruise. Those weekend meals sound lovely - that's a v good cal total today.

Ah Bath you sound a bit like where I was last week - all my snacking was at night in front of the tellie. You know, it really is just a habit - but that means it's very hard to break. Maybe you just need to go with it for a few days and your umph might come back all of a sudden. You're still eating mindfully and that's the main thing.

xT well done on getting back to Friday's weight! Copying what Not said but weekends are a huge pitfall for so many of us.

MumBod oh Florida sounds fab - assuming it's a holiday? In all honestly, I think it's v hard to even maintain in the US - sorry Sad. One thing I do like about it (not sure if it's the same in FL) but they tend to be much better at putting calorie counts on menus than we are. Even if you could try to track everything - that would be a goal by itself.

Finished on 1200 exactly yesterday yippee. WI today and I had good news. I lost last week's gain and a bit more, so down to 62.3kg ~9st 11.5 phew. My weekly average was still high at 1685, so I must have had a lot of TOTM bloat at last week's WI.

Total lost is 13.3kg ~ 2st 1lb now. I'm going to try to lose around 2kg more and then see how I am - probably around the end of March before I get there.

Turkey korma tonight, so coming in at 1205 for today.

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2017 22:37

Weird ear subsided, thanks all. Putting it down to a bit of post shopping exhaustion. Anywho, I decided to do a Zumba type class. So I've been finding the gym tough, this was tough in a completely different way, did I get a sweat on! Knees are well knackered after it but it was good, great energy. I'm glad I got something done today after all. I had my dinner around 5 and the evening stretched out lonnng in front of me so just say feck it, get up and go.
Sorry for the me me me all - just wanted to share my news with others, such as it is haha!

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 15/02/2017 22:57

Oh dawg that's a fantastic loss! Well done you, you can't be going far wrong to drop that amount on c.1600 - I think 1200 is vv tough to keep doing consistently.

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 16/02/2017 06:01

Not well done on the class and avoiding a potential snacky sofa!
Need sounds like you're in a good place all round at the moment
Dawg well done on the loss!
Well, I should have known better - I aimed too low yesterday, lost the plot and went the other way, even breaking my alcohol ban to have a beer (I did still avoid wine though so I'm pleased about that). Scales are up a pound this morning. Oh well, live and learn. Stretching session done, meal plan for the day done, best get ready for work - in back in the office today going to feel really weird!

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2017 06:47

You'll be like the girl jonty! Hope you're feeling much better & only 2 days in then 2 days off, that'll ease the pain. 1 beer is grand, as you said could have been much worse. I had slimline tonic with ice and lime in a nice glass, did have a small packet of crisps plus 2 of my chocs but food for the day came in at 1300. I didn't use any exercise calories so I'm calling that a good day. Have my gear packed for this afternoons class but I am tired. We'll see how the days pans out. 3 weeks left for operation dress, have a backup on standby. If it doesn't fit by then, I'll surely get into it for late May. Not too sore, just v tired. Don't know whether to do a weigh in or not

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 16/02/2017 06:48

Like the new girl I was trying to say, I need to preview messages I really do

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 16/02/2017 07:38

Lol Not I knew what you meant! And only one day in actually as I'll be wfh again tomorrow yey!

Sugarandsalt · 16/02/2017 08:06

Jonty agree re office and routines, easier to stay on track when not home. Mumbod I tend not to gain much on hols, agree main thing to watch is porrions. I have a large appetite (obviously!) but find American portions totally overwhelming.

Not well done on the fitness, you are inspiring me. Went for a 1 hour brisk walk last night, going to run at the weekend.

Need we are renting a little villa in the algarve for a week. We've been before. I prefer more adventurous holidays but beach etc perfect with a toddler. Grandparents coming and staying nearby so DH and I might even get to have an evening or 2 out!

Today I'm hospital based in morning and at a course this afternoon. Tomorrow I'm in hospital all day so will walk plenty. (I'm lecturing/teaching 70% of my time at the moment as it's more family friendly, which might explain my strange working situation!).

Plan for today:
Porridge
Chicken salad
Butternut squash/parsnip winter curry (this is an experiment, given the lack of aubergines etc at present!).
That's all1200 cals so may even have a glass of wine- usually save wine for Fridays but am once again on call tomorrow!

Sugarandsalt · 16/02/2017 08:08

Weighed in- half pound down this week. I'll take that, lost 3 last week so it's good overall.

Bathsheba3 · 16/02/2017 08:28

Well done on the losses sugar & dawhead. Well deserved. Keep it up! On the other hand, I'm completely off-kilter food wise. But I know it's just a phase I hope!

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2017 09:14

Well done sugar, a quarter of a stone in 2 weeks is brilliant.
Oh dear bath, we need to find your mojo, I think we all get a turn of loosing it. I'm pretty sure you and me have been keeping each other company in the 12's and now the 11's - give yourself time to think, don't rush into rash food decisions. I had a 3rd chocolate in my hand last night and just paused & thought no. You'll get back into it but it's such a slog, there's bound be be ups & downs
