Well that was a stupidly indulgent weekend, scales has shot right up and it's no surprise. My head isn't wired right where food is considered, I really lost the plot. I have to try figure this out, I felt down about the weight so I ate ate ate. Anyway, onward we must go, food for today:
B: Porridge and banana
L: Scrambled egg and toast
D: Bean burger with wrap
Lots of water to flush out all the salt and white wine

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 08/05/2017 07:54

I could have written your post Not. Except you were braver to face the scales. I'm staying off them til Friday at least! My head is a total fuzz this morning too - all the wine & sugar. Even woke at 3am with indigestion, such was the cake consumption yesterday.

C'mon girl, get your act together. 3.5 weeks left in this month, and put your mind to it you could be 7 lbs down. Log in everything. Positive attitude. Clean eating. Light tasty foods. You deserve to be the best of yourself.

If it doesn't happen NOW then it will be a very different summer....

Bathsheba3 · 08/05/2017 15:32

Can't stop thinking of food today. Stomach severely stretched. Skipped breakfast, tut tut but needs must. Had a salad with leaves, lentils and feta for lunch.

More harsh words to myself: C'mon, get your backside in gear bath. Focus. No-one NEEDS cake or wine. 3.5 weeks to commit. It's nothing.

Even more harsh words needed, so I have been extra brave & booked a PT session for tomorrow. Someone new. Will be boxing. OMG. Hope he takes pity on me. Actually hope he doesn't, puts me through my paces, and makes me realise all my talk of going for a jog under the disguise of exercise makes me realise I am an unfit lardy lump which I know I am and need to train properly.

Not2bObvious · 08/05/2017 16:12

I felt like that over the weekend bath, couldn't fill the void. To be fair though no breakfast and a salad for lunch is nigh on starvation. Well done on booking the PT, I'm off to the gym for a pretty tough class. I'm fine on the exercise, I go the gym 3-4 times a week and run 2-3 times for between 40-60 minutes. I just eat too much😩
My dh said what would I be like without the exercise, I reckon I'd be on TV on my 600lb life or something similar...

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 08/05/2017 20:47

Evening all (or just you bath😉) Well, 10,000 steps done, 1 hour class and calories 1500. I felt like crying in the class, it was really tough and my knees were grumbling badly. This is definitely because of the stone I've put back on, so cross with myself. Anyway that'll hardly help, have to look at the positives, I've put in a great day - now to repeat!

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 08/05/2017 21:02

You certainly have put in a great day not. Presume your dh said that comment with a wink in his eye Wink. I am so lucky my dh is so kind and never says anything, not one word, about my weight he daren't.

But a good day here too. 11,600 steps, but no additional exercise. Saving myself for a pounding tomorrow morning. 1270 calories, most of which were delicious chilli con carne & rice I made. Pint of water & early night for me.

Not2bObvious · 08/05/2017 21:25

Himself made the comment in response to me saying ok whining that "I'm working out really hard, why can't I relax the diet a bit" - I'd like to think it was a positive comment but now I'm not sure🤔
Pain in my fat arse I have

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 09/05/2017 12:22

I survived, just. Had to stop mid PT session as I thought I was going to pass out. Did a bit too much, too soon! But it was great, especially the boxing. Anger management and fitness in one! I'm going to book some more. Nice guy, and I didn't feel judged. Half the battle for me.

But in other news, I did brave the scales. 11 11.75. Yo yo'ing about all over the place. But most of the 4lbs is w'end damage of delicious white baguette and cake, oh and the wine, which also have a negative ahem constipating effect. Extra coffee and water today.

Still in my kit, house still a tip, laundry still to put away, and work still to do. Better crack on!

Inthesleeplessnightgarden · 09/05/2017 15:44

Well, just had the biggest boost as a mum in the playground who I hardly know asked if I was shrinking and told me how good I'm looking! Was a bit embarrassed but am taking the compliment ☺️. And it's spurred me on not to eat the whole bowl of cake mix for DSs birthday cake! Weigh day tomorrow which will hopefully show first proper loss since Easter/wedding fiasco. Fingers crossed.

Not2bObvious · 09/05/2017 18:35

11.11.8 here - so pretty much weight twins again bath😉 PT sounds great, how often are you planning on seeing him? I did a 6 mile jog this morning, had my 10,000 steps by 7.30am
That's really nice to get a compliment in, we don't see the changes in ourselves, a bit of validation from others can really lift the spirit. I saw a relative I hadn't seen in ages today and they said I'd lost loads of weight! Of course I had to argue and say I kept losing & gaining - they were probably regretting saying anything 😂

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 09/05/2017 18:36

Oh and I did the same in, the compliment made me stick to my original dinner while the kids had mcd's. Felt v proud of myself

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 09/05/2017 21:01

6 miles is amazing not - well done you! Hope you have a nice route, & so don't get too bored. PT was great. Just the once this week, then x2 / week for next 5 weeks. Regardless of what I am eating, I want to tone-up what is already sitting around my hips, tummy, upper arms & thighs.

1300 cals for me today. No wine!

Good for you in - hope you get a very nice (and well deserved) loss tomorrow.

Not2bObvious · 10/05/2017 06:17

Twice a week and doing your bit of running, combined with a calorie controlled diet and you'll really make progress in the next few weeks bath If we could both just stop making a mess of ourselves over the weekend or at least cutting it to 1 day, and not getting too wound up about the scales flux/then disheartened/bingey we might get through this never ending 11'stone'something story!
I'm down to 11.10.6, so the weekend bloat just about gone. Today should be a rest day but I keep thinking I should get up and do a really run - I was v achy last night but surprisingly ok this morning. It's so lovely and sunny although v chilly. Decisions decisions...

OP posts:
Inthesleeplessnightgarden · 10/05/2017 07:10

Weighed in this morning at 74.2kgs, that's 11,9,9 according to the online converter. Down from 75.1 last week (so v nearly 2 pounds) and finally below the pre Easter low of 74.8. My little MFP graph has a proper zigzag over the last four weeks so it's heartening to see it heading in the right direction again.

Need to be careful the next few days with birthdays and parties coming up. Will need to be strong to resist cake. And cake mix.

Have been thinking about what I've changed since I started on MFP in jan. And despite a few falls (e.g. with cake, cider and Easter eggs) there are some things I've really stuck to and that must be helping. I've changed from semi to skimmed milk. I've totally stopped using oil - switched to fry light for cooking or vinegar for salad dressing. No butter in sandwiches. 0% yoghurt (Aldi) with a bit of honey/lemon curd stirred in instead of buying flavoured stuff. Anyone else have sensible changes to share?

Hope you all have good days!

Bathsheba3 · 10/05/2017 07:35

Well done in - that is a great loss. I think us twins have gained a triplet Wink. Sounds as though you have made some great switches, every little helps. Sadly my downfall is the weekend. Family b'days here this weekend, so full of temptation - again, esp with Brownies, cake, lasagne & garlic bread on the menu.

Glad you've lost a bit of your bloat too not. I bet you are getting super toned-up. I'm having trouble doing stairs and sitting this morning, thanks to having to do so many squats & walking lunges carrying massive weights. But my bloat has gone in a whoosh too, thankfully had to resort to senna, which aggravates me badly. Day of meetings in-between driving, so no chance of steppage for me. But tomorrow is another day.

Be strong!

Not2bObvious · 10/05/2017 07:59

And then there were 3 eh?😉 2lb is excellent in, well done you!
Hmm swap hints, I'm following Richie howie on fb (it's a private group and costs a little £ but I think it's worth it) and it focuses on calorie counting & macros (as in protein, carbs, fat in certain % depending on your body fat) It's a bit complicated at first but I'm pretty much back eating carbs and low fat elsewhere. I'm working hard to keep my fibre up to 25gr as I too am v sluggish (bath it's worth checking your soluble & insoluble fibre amounts - banana & porridge, wholemeal bread, apples/pears, 3 litres of water a day has helped me greatly) There is work in it, but you can have something nice if it fits your macros. I had a home assembled ice cream cone with a flake last night as I had carbs & fat left to use, nowt to complain about with that!

Hi Not, Bath and In! At the airport about to leave Majorca, haven't weighed all holiday and have eaten broadly what I like without being greedy. Will weigh in tomorrow and see where I'm at... it's been a fab holiday, only downside has been how self conscious I've felt about my body and weight - I hold most of my additional weight on my stomach which unfortunately means I easily look 6 months pregnant. Still I'm really motivated to get straight back to losing weight, which is really good. Speak properly tomorrow!

Not2bObvious · 10/05/2017 16:26

Jonty!! (Waving like a loon!) Wow that holiday came about so quickly, hope you had a lovely time but too late for me to say don't be worrying about the tum. Looking forward to having you back onboard.
So I've done around 45 minutes jogging and 45 minutes walking all told and my legs are fit to fall off! It's another bit of exercise accomplished and it's a glorious day so why not enjoy? Devil on my shoulder is suggesting a wee 🍷with my BBQ would go down nicely...I shall endeavour to resist

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 10/05/2017 20:24

Ahh, forget the scales tomorrow Jonty - having a happy time with the family, in the sun, is much more important than the scales. Glad you had a nice time - very well deserved too, after your run of sickness, and then work stuff. Hope you come back refreshed, rested, and energy reserves replenished.

Wow Not - you make me feel tired listening to all your activity today! Glad you got out for a run, especially on your rest day. But make sure you do get that rest in some other time, and guilt-free too. I selfishly hope you had that vino, to keep me company .... DH's b'day so I'm on a glass of rosé. Would have been v rude of me not to!

Good day work wise - managed to wing it I hope as client v happy. I even got a compliment on my new work-boots (think hard hat & high vis, glamorous me Wink). I'm going to sleep well, even better if I manage to avoid the tray of chocolate brownies that are smelling gorgeous, and gooey.,,,

Not2bObvious · 10/05/2017 21:02

Phew, glad I wasn't the only one with the vino. Only had around a quarter bottle though so that's not too bad really? Nice to get a compliment bath, lifts the spirits doesn't it? I'm proper leg tired now and I've gone a bit over on the calories but there's plenty in the bank to cover it. Gym tomorrow afternoon, got to keep chipping away😁

I stopped getting notifications for this thread some how Blush

Hi everyone, again! Hope everyone is well Smile I've managed another 2 pounds off so sitting at 12 stone now. Can't wait til the next one comes back and I can officially say I'm 11 stone something again!!

Reading back up the thread I'm really proud of the little changes I've made. No fizzy drinks except one lime and soda at the pub last week. Lots and lots of water. Determinedly keeping up 10,000 steps even on my laziest days. Not eating carbs with carbs most meals Blush it is getting easier with every day!

Not2bObvious · 10/05/2017 23:07

Well done piggy, or should you change your name to something less porky😉 Super work on the good changes, keep it up and you'll see 11'something in another few days

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 11/05/2017 06:10

Morning all. Scales say 10.13.5 (just about not in the 11s phew!) which is only a 4lb gain, plus TOTM arrived last night (20 minutes after I got home from holiday 🙄😡) and we had fish and chips takeaway for dinner as we didn't have anything else in. So by the time the bloat etc drops off in a few days I'm hoping it will show as virtually no gain at all, so I'm pretty pleased about that. Having to 'best endeavours' today food-wise as not really prepared, so toast and marmite for breakfast, lunch will be a salad from Pret and dinner I don't know yet - probably some veg in tomato sauce with pasta that I can share with DS. Have a good day all!

Not2bObvious · 11/05/2017 06:56

That's a great result jonty, and between totm plus heavy meal you might have completely dodged any weight gain. Drink loads of water for the next few days to counteract the bloat.
Scales down to 11.10.2, yeah! The hard work is paying off. I'm looking back over my weight for the last 2 months, I never really got over my weight gain from my trip in March, then my week away in April solidified the gain. And prior to that I never really got over my Christmas gain, so I'd gone up from 11.2-11.4 to 11.6-11.8, then from 11.6-11.8 to 11.10-11.12! Scary stuff, it really creeps on so insidiously. B*stard weight😡 Anyway it didn't get there by itself! Company for dinner twice this week, I really need to avoid the 🍷Eyes on the prize, on it like a car bonnet time again😉

Not it's frightening how easily it goes on. I've got my 40th end of July, so by first week of July I'd like to be as low as possible - ideally ten stone, but that's basically a stone loss between now and then, in what..8 weeks. Well, one day at a time, let's see how things settle by the time I'm a week post holiday and go from there.
