Morning all!
Had two glasses of wine last night as celebration, because horse and I came second out of 15 yesterday with our best score yet!
Haven't weighed this morning as had toast at 3am because I couldn't sleep 🙄
Have already done horse and been swimming with R this morning, now for. Spot of tidying, some gardening and then kids Birthday Party at 1, and back to horse this afternoon. Have a good day all!

Not2bObvious · 30/04/2017 11:17

Well done on your event jonty! That's definitely worth celebrating and 2 glasses wouldn't break the calorie bank. I'm laughing (not in a bad way promise cause I'm the same) about you not weighing in because of a middle of the night toast. Unless you had the whole pan, it's only around 40grams a slice😉 But as I said I'd be the same. I weighed in at 5am but fell back asleep and didn't wake until 9, needed another wee so decided I'd weigh in again. I was a pound lighter! Honestly, it's like scales roulette

JontyDoggle37 · 01/05/2017 10:30

Morning all! Scales are down (on a MONDAY 😱😁) to 10.9. Hopeful of another pound off by Wednesday.
Not bread makes me water retain like mad, so it's not the weight of the bread, it's the bread plus how much water can one slice soak up - nearly half a pound!!😁
Woke up at 5.30 this morning so got and launched into getting thebhouse straight, the household finances done for the month and the holiday packing list written. Just stopped at ten, now showered and off out to pick up all the bits we still need plus DS birthday presents as his party is two days after we get back. Have a good day all!

piggychicken · 01/05/2017 13:21

Thanks for the encouragement! Back to normal today and yesterday, also was the first day back at work after a week off so I'm already getting back into having a healthy lunch prepared (and not going out for lunch every day Blush)!

Out of curiosity, how often does everyone weigh themselves? Is it best to do once every few days? I get a bit obsessive and I think if I do it everyday I'll be wanting to do it after every meal and scrutinising every gain/loss!

Inthesleeplessnightgarden · 01/05/2017 13:58

Arrrgh. Just back from cinema with the DSs and somehow the best part of a packet of popcorn is now in my tummy. Will power seems to have found its own off switch today...

Not2bObvious · 01/05/2017 14:52

I weigh in everyday first thing, write it down, theoretically forget. Realistically I seethe over it, I was out last night and I'm up 2lb today. It's rightly peed me off. Did my gym this morning plus walked the long way home, then a walk through the shopping centre so around 13,000 steps done. Nearly time got lunch

Am seething. Long bank holiday weekend means an extra day for me to run round after everyone, doing bloody everything. Royally pissed off. Probably this is the time I need to get trainers on and run off my anger & frustration. But no, he has buggered off on his bike, so I am left to do the dinner, hang out uniform, and do the homework nagging, and tidy up this tip. Again.

Bathsheba3 · 01/05/2017 18:21

And I've just realised I am going to a wedding in less than 6 weeks.

JontyDoggle37 · 01/05/2017 19:41

Bath time to put your foot down and carve out the responsibilities and your me time - I found this with DH, if I didn't plan ahead and really blatantly state 'at 3pm on Saturday I will be going out to ride/run whatever and you will need to x/y/z' he would merrily do his own thing and not notice that I was missing out or things weren't getting done. I changed tactics about two months ago, and occasionally he gets the hump because he's having to do more, but I just remind him how much 'me time' he has, and te argument immediately goes away. I've just had a bloody lovely weekend of riding and seeing friends as well as family and husband time- took planning up front but it was great. Hope you're feeling better now (or have wine handy)

Bathsheba3 · 02/05/2017 07:24

Thanks for kind words Jonty. I'm really not hard done by, but it feels like it sometimes. Ended up drowning my sorrows with gin last night, as no wine in the house. Woke up at 3.30am with mind whirring so ended up reading. Couldn't be bothered to do a not and have a quick WI, or a midnight feast of toast Wink. Feel like my head is in a fog now though. Will head out for a run in a bit. Scales up 0.5 from thursday to 11 9. And a shorter week to loose it again. But onwards we must go. Re-focus, eat light, and loose the bloat. Have a good day everyone!

Not2bObvious · 02/05/2017 08:25

A lowly gain of .5 after the long weekend is pretty excellent bath, how's the head after the gin? The plan I'm attempting to follow says when you have a binge or blowout (in this case the drowning of the sorrow of other half pissing you off) you put it behind you but you also think about why you reacted that way so the next time you do something different. I need to figure what made me eat 7, yes 7, chocolate biscuits in a row last night😳 I had 2 glasses of wine yesterday afternoon, my only drink over the weekend and it made me doze off. I've found if I doze off during the day I wake craving sugar - off but pretty true. Possibly I'm seeking a quick energy source? So my moral of the story should have been no wine as I didn't really need it and I'd have saved around 800 calories! 1 of my 2 pounds have gone, the day is all planned. Only thing left to do is to drag ass out of bed and start it. Circuit class tonight, should be good - fast & furious!

Not2bObvious · 03/05/2017 06:24

Morning all, how was everyone's first day back at the grind after the long weekend? Mine was good, got my steps in (14k) and got to the gym, finished the day under 1600. Scales back to 11.10 which is down 2.8 from Friday. I'm going to work on maintaining that for this Friday, I am out tonight which will surely give me an annoying gain tomorrow but I'll try not to throw my toys out of the pram😉
Looking to be a lovely day here, off for a run now, hope to get a good hour in

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 03/05/2017 07:39

Good work on getting back to Friday's weigh not - and on the steppage AND gym. I only managed 30 mins run, but then went straight back out with dog and did my push-ups and bench presses all around the park. Looked like a total narna, but sore today so must have had some impact!

Had a low-ish cal & carb day yesterday, but not enough to change the scales this morning. But determined to get back in my size 12 summer wardrobe. I tried-on yesterday. Can pull everything up, which is a huge start, but need to do-up and be able to move about.

Hope you had a good run Not. How are you today Jonty? Still doing OK everyone else?

Bathsheba3 · 03/05/2017 22:25

Hope everyone had a lean and mean day. I'm still off the wine Smile but seem to have moved onto gin & slimline instead Blush. But without the wine / sugar, it means I'm craving less sugary stuff in the evening, which is usually when I derail.

B = all bran & semi-skimmed milk
L = salad with feta, beetroot, & roasted butternut squash, balsamic dressing. All home-made!
D = roast cod in pancetta, lentils, brown rice & roast veg, broccoli & green beans on the side. Really pushed-the boat out this evening!!

Can't stop thinking of food, meal planning, & very bizarrely looking at bikinis online Hmm Purely wishful thinking. I have a LOT of work to do to even contemplate swimwear on the beach this summer, let alone fitting into my dress for the wedding next month. Will try and get out for a run again tomorrow. Sweet dreams all.

Not2bObvious · 04/05/2017 07:37

Morning all. As predicted up in weight this morning to 11.11.6....grrrr. It was a salty enough meal so with luck it's just bloat. Since last Friday's weight was 11.12.8, so even if tomorrow I'm 11.11.6 I've still had a loss over the week. I'm working hard on my mindset, weigh daily, take the flux, then Friday is official weigh day. I shared a bottle of wine last night and had 1 g&t - that's my drinking done for the week. But then I also had a 3 course meal😳 No surprise on the gain really, probably still a huge lump of cheesecake lurking....
I think you sound like you're doing great bath, why not look at bikinis - just keep chipping away. I'm trying really hard not to get disheartened by slow progress but the reality is from my worst post holiday weight to my best, I'm down 5lb in around 3 weeks. The days of losing 5lb in a week are gone, those weeks were never real either. It'd be water weight or pure starvation and then I'd eat rings around myself putting the cycle in motion again.

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 04/05/2017 08:21

Grrrrr indeed not. But it will be bulk & bloat. Any large late meal will still be there in poundage the next morning. With any luck you'll surprise yourself tomorrow! Hope you had a nice time with your friend though?

My scales at 11 8 this morning, so 0.5 lb down from WI last thursday.

We have the same problem not - we can both loose weight very effectively when we put our mind to it. But it's the overeating between the good days that sets us back. And I'm out tomorrow night to Indian restaurant with friends, which will be about 2-days worth of calories in one meal by my usual standards. Hmmm.

Not2bObvious · 04/05/2017 10:04

I did have a nice time to a degree but the fact I'm not really drinking seems to make me a bit of a damp squib😔 I drank squash for most of the night and I was exhausted by 10.30 and wanted to go home (I'd been up since 5.30 and ran for an hour, plus a days work) we would have only been out 30 mins more as that was the last bus but my bro took this as a bit of an affront. I had a sh*te sleep so in hindsight I should have stayed and then at least one of us would have been happy! And I've quite a headache for half a bottle & 1 gin which just reinstates my decision not to drink.
Well done on the loss, have a good night out and don't stress about it, this is certainly a marathon and not a sprint!

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 05/05/2017 07:19

Morning all. Down another 0.25 to 11 7.75. Out last night to a function, back v late, but stuck to fizzy water which means that although v tired now, I don't have a fuzzy head to go with. Out for a run shortly.

No snacking or slip-ups today everyone. Keep-up the marathon pace!

Not2bObvious · 05/05/2017 07:40

Very well done bath, that's the spirit. A night out and a loss, on fire! Any plans for how you'll manage tonight or will you just write it off?
I had an early night, so feel much better this morning. Scales dropped to 11.10.6, so down 1lb from yesterday. I've decided I'm going to think of Sunday as my official weigh in day - it might encourage good behaviour over the weekend instead of the usual free for all 😏
I must say, cutting out most of the wine has helped curtail the boldness somewhat. Gym class in 2 hours, got to get some work in first though. Happy Friday all! Speaking of all, where are you all???

OP posts:
piggychicken · 05/05/2017 08:28

Happy Friday!! Just weighed myself and I'm down to 12.2 when I started at 12.4 so that's really cheered me on. I did have pizza yesterday but kept it thin crust and sparing and no garlic bread! (If you knew me in person you would know this is pretty much unheard of Wink). Going out for drinks tonight so will try and avoid wine and go for something lighter instead. Hope everyone is well!

Not2bObvious · 05/05/2017 09:30

Well done piggy, that's a really nice drop. Enjoy your night out, maybe vodka and diet drink? M&S Indian on the menu here, yummy!

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 05/05/2017 13:39

Well done piggy - 2lbs loss is fantastic. And motivating to carry on! Well, if you can have thin crust pizza, and no garlic bread, I can go out to the Indian restaurant this evening and have no onion bhaji's, no popadoms and no naan bread. If I stick to a chicken main, and some rice, then that'll be better? And good idea to try and avoid wine. Enjoy your curry night too not!

I ran for an hour this morning, and enjoyed it. Just bought a supermarket sandwich as running around. No Mayo chicken salad. Really cross - instead of the mayo it was swimming in salad cream. The fool I was. First bread of the week too.

piggychicken · 05/05/2017 13:59

Thank you! Haha bath have your Indian! I think this is one of my big things with losing weight - not depriving myself of the things I want, just being a bit more careful about them. I'm not set up for a life without pizza and curry I'm afraid!!

I'm heading out on a mammoth dog walk this afternoon before my drinks. I'll also be walking to and from the bar so that kind of helps... right?! Hmm

Bathsheba3 · 07/05/2017 10:53

Curry Friday night was nice, and I stuck to plan, give-or-take 1/2 popadom. Sadly yesterday went completely to pot, involving fresh baguette, lemon drizzle cake, more white bread for dinner, handful maltesers, and wine. Too much. No celebrations to be had, just me being utterly greedy, and failure to find any form of off-switch.

Today I shall be angelic in comparison. Only had 2 cups of tea so far. I just don't know why I still see food, and the "wrong" type of food as a treat, a reward for getting through the week etc. I knew in the morning it was going to be a sod-it day, and so I made the most of it.

We don't have anything planned today, quite unusual for us for a sunday. Would love to do something together, but someone will object for sure Wink

All very quiet here. Hope everyone OK.

Not2bObvious · 07/05/2017 17:57

Off switch mislaid as well bath, tomorrow's a new day round mine😉
