Hi everyone. So I'm joining this determinedly as of tomorrow. I'm very short, and used to maintain around 100 lbs being nice and slim. Now 135 Blush. I just want to feel happy and confident in my own skin again, so aiming to firstly get to 120lbs then maybe lower it to 115 depending on how I feel. Plan for tomorrow:

  • Golden syrup porridge sachet
  • Can of chicken soup, 1 slice brown bread, banana
  • Jacket potato, reduced salt and sugar baked beans, RF cheddar cheese

Also aiming for 10K steps every day. Let's do this! Grin

Thingsgettingstranger · 09/04/2017 20:26

Oh, and I'm aiming for 2 litres water a day and my calorie limit is 1400 Smile

Lolimax · 09/04/2017 20:42

Hi Things! Welcome. 1400 is a good target, very do-able. I'm trying to drink more water at the moment. It's great until the early hours when my bladder is screamingly full!!
I've overdone it this weekend. I ache all over and am grumpily tired. Bed to watch Line Of Duty and get out of everyone's way.

Bathsheba3 · 09/04/2017 21:56

sneaking back in to say hello to everyone, but won't linger for long. I have missed you all dearly, but feeling like a bit of a fraud if I come on here with diet-talk, as I'm still really off-zone, & feel like a failure. So rather than bring everyone down with negative stuff, I've just kept out of the way.

But it has been nice to read the last 4+ pages of posts. And am in awe of your running Not - and yours too Need, and the kettlebell classes too Loli. And you are still plugging away Jonty too - and Dawhead still making time for such amazing posts!

Well, my weight went back up to 11 12 Shock, but all things considered, I am amazed I didn't hit the 12s again. Not feeling in control at all, but resisted chocolate/sugar the last few days, as you all know I never stop at the 1! Trying to up the exercise as much as the work schedule allows - but nothing hardcore. Even 10,000 steps is worth aiming for. Managed 14k+ today, so that is very good.

Had rather a large dinner, but it was all good stuff, and very tasty. Home-made lamb & butternut squash dansak lurking at the back of the freezer.

Should be prepping for an 8am meeting, but am with you lovely lot instead. I seriously need to re-address work-life balance atm. It is skewed the wrong way, & I am seriously suffering Sad. I must get control again...

Bathsheba3 · 09/04/2017 22:01

GREAT shopping trip btw Loli !!!! Good on you Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 10/04/2017 07:14

Loli great shopping trip!
Things welcome
Bath I know exactly what you mean and I think the reasons I've struggled to stay on track recently have been work/life balance and stress. I've made some good schedule changes in the last week, so hoping for better results this week!
Scales are up at 10.12 this morning, but that's still a pound lighter than last Monday so I'll take that! Was out running by 5.10am as into work earlier today, and increased my distance slightly so up to 1.86 miles now, and my pace was also quite a bit better - last week I was just under 11 minute miles, at 10.56, this morning I managed an average 10.45 😁 I've got a work lunch out today so no idea where that will be calories wise but breakfast and dinner only add up to 780, so I've got 800-900 spare for lunch if necessary. Have a lovely Monday everyone - the sun is shining and we ARE going to lose weight this week!Grin

SesameSparkle · 10/04/2017 16:01

Hey there mfp-ers! Smile

Sorry I haven’t been on thread for a while.

I’m still here, still holding on just. I haven’t been that good lately sadly, far too many bad days, office treats, binging on anything random that I have in the kitchen cupboards, that kind of thing. I haven’t weighed myself in a couple of weeks either . But I am at least still logging every day. And I haven’t yet abandoned my streak either, which is currently sitting at 364 days! Grin

I do want to get on top of things again, and I’d also really like to get my arse into gear and get a bit more active to help things along. All the exercise being done on this thread is pretty inspiring, I just need a wee push myself….

not I’m still watching extreme makeover weightloss edition and loving it. Just getting to the end of season 3 now. I do love that they are real people and the show tells of some almighty fuck ups going on in their lives, as well as the successes. Well done on the running and all those PBs btw! Star

loli well done on the shopping spree! Grin I have to admit to doing a bit of obsessive wardrobe restocking lately too, as last summer I was in the 14s and then 12s and shopping is my new hobby.

things welcome on board. Smile It sounds like you’ve got a plan. Do you mind me asking how tall you are?

bath nice to see you. I’m totally with you in not being motivated right now. I’ve also found the choc/cravings thing really tough to deal with. I dipped my hand into the choccy tin at work last week. I couldn’t stop at a couple either and ended up logging 12 celebrations, before calling it quits and then going home to follow that with a proper dinner and several rounds of toast. Anyway I wanted to say that this malarkey is bloody hard. You can and will get back on it when you are ready. Small steps and all that. Flowers

jonty well done, you sound so motivated right now! Star

need good to hear that you don’t need the mfp app anymore and you’ve found a natural balance to your maintain. I reckon that’s all anyone can ask for! Star

Who else is still around these parts? daw - any news from the US? sugar? mumbod?

JontyDoggle37 · 10/04/2017 17:29

Hi Sesame good to see you [waves]
It's finding that one thing or moment in time that acts as your kickstart again, when you've hit a tough bit isn't it?
I'm pleased with myself. So far today - giant chocolate gateau and a whole tray of Ferrero Rocher two desks away from me all day and I didn't have any. And I had a lemon chicken tagine on my lunch out and only ate about a quarter of the rice and not all of the chicken (it wasn't very nice) so I think that was less than 300 cals. I've had a snack bag of nuts and raisins this afternoon to give me a boost as I won't get dinner until 8.30 tonight because I'm off to horse straight after I get home. Feeling really tired today - maybe running at 5am after a not good night's sleep isn't such a good plan...Hmm

Lolimax · 10/04/2017 18:30

Yeah Sesame, Bath and Jonty! Still missing a few faces but it's been soooooooo quiet in here. I've had a hungry day today. My body telling me off for the weekend I expect. Did too much, didn't eat enough (and alcohol was involved).
Strong by Zumba in a bit. Burpees hell.
Oh and big decision here. I will know very soon if redundancy is offered for June or next March. I'm taking it asap. I need my sanity and life back. Maybe the summer off? How nice would that be?

Bathsheba3 · 10/04/2017 21:00

hello - and than you all for being supportive, and not giving me a good telling off. Loli, can I say that is one huge POSITIVE decision if you take your redundancy. I'm sure it will bring other stresses for you financial, but you sound so empowered, you are just an inspiration. And summer off will be well-and-truely deserved IMO. Life is so short.

Well done Jonty on resisting the treats. We'll get there again Sesame, I'm sure of it, it's just finding that umph again isn't it? Also hoping everyone else are OK? Daw & Not? Maybe needing some time out, like I did. Hope it's that, and no-one nose-diving back into old ways. Be strong all.

JontyDoggle37 · 10/04/2017 21:53

kitchen closed on 1600, happy with that! As we're at 21 pages, does that mean we'll run out of thread soon?

SesameSparkle · 10/04/2017 22:14

jonty that's amazing self control resisting those office treats, but sorry your lunch out wasn't very nice. We have 40 pages to fill up before starting a new thread, so that's us just past half way. So don't be shy ladies.....!

loli sorry about the redundancy, but it sounds like good news that you'll know what's happening soon and can finally make some decent plans. What would you do with yourself if you had the summer off?

bath you will get there. All these blips are mere temporary things.

Kitchen closed on 2283. It's not great, but far from my worst. And I'm posting it here cos I'm hoping that will make me close the actual kitchen now and go to bed......

JontyDoggle37 · 11/04/2017 07:49

Morning!
Half a pound down here. Core strength workout done, and Power Up Porridge for breakfast (porridge with banana, peanut butter and honey - so full!).
Have just realised I've forgotten my lunch, which is a pain. Not sure what I'll have now. May have to adjust tonight's dinner accordingly...
Loli redundancy and summer off sounds great as long as you are financially ok enough to be able to enjoy and not worry if you don't get a new job straight away when you start looking - having been in that position last year, when we were very low on money and I was trying to get a job it was one of the most stressful times ever.

SesameSparkle · 11/04/2017 09:24

Weighed in today on day 365 and I'm back at 9st10. That's ok by me and mfp tells me that's a 2st8 loss overall. Porridge for breakfast in the sesame house too. With frozen berries, chia seeds, yoghurt and banana.

I bought the chia seeds out of a new year health kick supermarket display, but I've no clue what to do with them other than sprinkle on stuff and thickening porridge not really sure what's the point of them. Any suggestions?

Bathsheba3 · 11/04/2017 18:49

Happy Anniversary SesameSparkle! 2st8 over a year, and to maintain is just blooming' marvellous. StarStarStar.

Positivity and support rubbing-off, feeling brighter and more in control. May even brave the scales tomorrow morning. Perhaps I'll see 1/2 lb off like you Jonty? Well done Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 12/04/2017 06:05

Sesame that's fab! I have no idea what to do with chia seeds, sorry. I got conned into trying some blueberry and quinoa 'porridge' yesterday and it was disgusting!🤢
Bath getting back on the scales is always the first step, go for it! Scales say up a pound this morning, which is ok - I had a big dinner last night, and really struggled with feeling a bit off all day yesterday so felt like I needed the extra. Hopefully tomorrow they'll be back down again. 2 mile run done, avo on toast for breakfast. It's Easter Bake Sale at work today, I've made chilli and Chorizo sausage rolls, so as I've contributed I'm planning on avoiding actually buying any cake! I've got some left over bolognese for lunch (no pasta) and a satsuma. Dinner will be sausages and salad for me.

Bathsheba3 · 12/04/2017 21:56

I was awake at 6.05 when you posted Jonty & couldn't believe you'd already been out for run & had brekkie. Where do you get your energy?! I did get on the scales. Not great. 11 11. So I've been loosing and regaining the same 5 / 6 lbs for months now. I know I can do it, just not right now. Am just taking a break from work now - been at it all day, plus more to go.

Anyone up to anything exciting for Easter? I've decided not to buy any big easter eggs this year. Very mean I know, but I know kids will be given enough chocolate from GP's. I don't need any. I've bought enough small (posh) ones for easter egg hunt. But the sugar, and packaging is just too much. Would rather spend my money on wine nice joint beef for lunch old misery guts Wink

Lolimax · 13/04/2017 07:01

Morning! A rare work day lie-in as I have a nurse appointment at 9. So in bed with a sleeping dog and a hot cuppa, bliss!
Out (on a school night, go me) last night. We saw The Commitments and had a proper Italian meal, bugger the calories. I still woke up to 11.6 today.
Easter, off down our caravan for the week. Can't wait as redundancy is now pretty much confirmed and I need a bit of breathing space. I will look for work but my job has made me ill and the last 2 years have taken their toll so a few months off would be bliss. Luckily DH is very supportive and we can afford it.

Bathsheba3 · 13/04/2017 16:28

Have a lovely Easter week caravanning Loli, especially knowing that work stress will soon be long-gone (for a while anyhow). 11 6 is amazing. Good food will be off-set by lovely walks, so you'll probably come back even lower than 11 6! But enjoy yourself, and relax.

Just about to start packing car up ourselves for weekend in the countryside. Can't wait. I had slice carrot cake today which was very naughty, but no chocolate for me this weekend. One is never the one. Thinking of you lovely lot Smile

SkeletonSkins · 15/04/2017 09:10

Hello all, can I join? Just stepped on the scales and so disappointed in myself. Really need to stop kidding myself and 'secret eating' thinking those extra little snacks don't count - they do!!!

I have used my fitness pal before with great success so need to get back onto it before I re-eat all my lost weight! Some amazing losses on her - so inspiring and does show it works.

So today I start! Put my breakfast in - weetabix and orange juice, not too bad. Have so much chocolate around but going to try and save a few calories for maybe a quarter of an egg after tea?

Going to do a nice big dog walk this morning to get me going!

Thingsgettingstranger · 15/04/2017 10:06

I've lost 2 pounds since I last posted but this weekend is going to be awful. I want it to be over already, I've eaten loads today and it's only 10 am. Anyway, next week's plan is:
B - Weetabix/toast/fruit/cereal bar/porridge
L - Soup/salad/sandwich thins
T - Chicken/beef/pizza/burgers with chips/waffles/rice and salad/veg/beans etc, or a ready meal (low cal)

Keeping fingers crossed and hoping to get myself under control again. I think I'll just leave my goal weight at 120 because if I try going lower it might backfire.

Hope eveyone else is doing well.

SesameSparkle · 15/04/2017 13:32

skeleton welcome, how much weight do you want to lose? Feel free to share your stats if you think it will help you. Smile

things 2lb is good. You can't undo the last few hours, but you can take control of whatever you decide to do next. Hang on.

Bath hope you are having a fun break with lots of active days to help keep everything in check. I have the same problem with just one choc. I had a malteasers egg in my basket yesterday, thinking it might be a nice treat, over a couple of days. But I knew I'd just end up eating it in one go as soon as I got in the car home, so swapped it for a single malteaster bunny at the last minute.

loli enjoy the break and hope you manage to let go. It's good that you are feeling so positive about events and you have the support you need.

jonty cooking savoury for a work bake sale is a smart move. Did it go well?

The long weekend didn't come quick enough for me. It's been a very busy week at work and I'm still trying to switch off really. Food wise, there are still quite a few bad days logging well into the 2000s. But I'm still counting everything and hope to be back on it very soon.

Have a lovely Easter break all!

Smile
Not2bObvious · 15/04/2017 16:47

Hello hello!! Back from my 6 days away, and without wanting to sound too dramatic there's a chance I drank all the wine and ate all the food. I feel as fat as a fat fool with no self restraint or ounce of cop on. Bloated to the hilt and there's still Easter Sunday lunch to come😩 Will read everyone's news and come back later

OP posts:
SkeletonSkins · 15/04/2017 16:50

Thanks for welcome sesame, currently 12stone exactly and 5'9. I have been heavier than that and lost it, but it's all creeping back on and have gained 8lbs in the last couple of months which needs to come off and a little more if possible! Would like to get to 10.5 stone but going to start by getting this half a stone off!

Worst time to start really - was out for a meal for lunch! But thinking that should keep me full for this evening if I have a small snack. Think if I stay under 1500 including meal out then that's not too bad and will start the real weight loss efforts from Monday.

Been on a nice long dog walk across the sand dunes today which I'm going to keep up every day hopefully!

Thingsgettingstranger · 15/04/2017 17:58

Sorry, changed my plan. Hope it's okay to put it here as a reminder for me.

B - 2 Weetabix with SS milk
L - Can of soup & sandwich thin
T - Meat and veg/Jacket spuds/Pasta this week
S - Fruit or salad if I am hungry
D - At least 2 litres water
E - I don't count steps but use a distance app so hoping to walk at least 2 miles a day and incorporate light weights and abs too.
