Not" yes, sorry. It was a bit early for metaphors, wasn't it? Grin

But, yes, that's the idea. Food will always be my comfort drug of choice. Specifically, biscuits.

But, new day today and so far, so good!

JontyDoggle37 · 01/03/2017 12:27

Sat here eating chicken soup and wishing for a huge plate of chips. Bit of a crappy morning at work, and wanting comfort food. Thankfully I'm too busy to go out and get any. Just got to stay away from the vending machine.

Needastrongone · 01/03/2017 15:53

Oh I hate burpees Loli, awful things. I think you can safely say your broken the comfort eating habit if you haven't done it for a year. That's brilliant.

Not a great day at work either but it's done now. Eating will be snacky today, as I'm running later, but then going straight to a meeting about running the 3 peaks (!), so little and often rather than 3 meals I think will work better.

Rest of the family are having bacon and egg or egg and chips or bacon egg and tomato, whatever they fancy with eggs!

Weight still in maintenance too.

Not2bObvious · 01/03/2017 16:43

Burpees are the work of the devil and used as the ultimate punishment for any bold behaviour in my gym. And then other instructors just throw a few of them in for fun...they need to get out more.
V stressful morning, didn't get lunch until 3pm and it was a shameful collection of fried food but that's going to count as dinner too. I feel like a dishrag now, prob look like one too! I need to de-suit & de-boot, my trousers are cutting off my circulation😳

OP posts:
DawheadAwgusEeentock · 01/03/2017 18:52

Need I am so stupid about exercise I can't even physically imagine what balancing on 2 tyres looks like for a push-up Confused. Wow you are going to run the 3 peaks - that's brilliant! - when are you planning towards?

MumBod glad your DC is ok. There are loads of comfort eaters on here (myself included). Only small tip I can give about biscuits - would you try Weight Watchers ones? They're my guilty pleasure and choccie digestives are only 51 cals each. It really helps with saving calories overall.

Not so first to answer your questions about my calories. You're dead right, but the big gain last week has really scared me. I still don't know what went wrong, but it's really freaked me out as the numbers just didn't add up. So I'm trying to aim for 1200 in the hope of ending up around 1400. If I aim for 1400 I'm worried I'll end up on 1600 and then gain again Sad. I know - my logic isn't very good Blush. I'm going to try one more week of it and see what happens.
Well done on the class yesterday Star! And woohoo for fitting nicely in size 10s. Brew for the stressful day today, but I'm glad to see your emoji's back Wink

Loli wow your calories are still quite low - but as long as you're feeling well that's the main thing. That's such an achivement to not have comfort eaten for a year - well done Star.

Ah Jonty it is really hard if family don't help with the process - sounds like a good idea to have the chat with your H. Also Brew for crappy morning at work - I know it's easy for me to say but you will get through this and come out the other side. You're doing so well Flowers.

Ended up on 1380 yesterday which wasn't too bad, pancakes for dinner turned out lovely, incl 11g of choccie spread. Weekly average finished on 1410, which is the lowest this year so far.

WI today and I should be jumping up and down. Down 1.4kg from last week, but only down net 0.4kg (1lb) in 2 weeks. which isn't great. I'm at 61.9kg (9st 10.5lbs) now which gives total lost of 13.7kg (2st 2lbs) in 30 weeks - exactly 1lb a week. 1.1kg (2.5lbs) to go to maintenance, so I shouldn't complain too much.

Being a good (a la carte) Catholic today and having fish for lunch and dinner - although I think it's more a fear of my Irish Mammy than God Wink. Hoping to finish at 1265. I hadn't really thought about trying anything for Lent but you're all inspiring me. I've failed already (because I forgot until after brekkie) but I'm going to try giving up artificial sweetener. I have about 6 spoons of it a day - on porridge and in coffees - so I'm really going to miss it. I know it's got 0 cals but I also know it's not very good to be eating so much of the stuff. 2 coffees so far - a bit bleurgh - but manageable. And I gave up sugar in tea years ago so I can do this.

Not2bObvious · 01/03/2017 20:51

Wow dawg 30lbs off in 30 weeks is textbook perfect. Not sure what the last 2.5lb can give you at this stage apart from a set goal you have in your mind. Anyway from my POV I think you've done fantastic. Take a huge virtual pat on the back from me.
Lying in bed watching fat, sick & nearly dead. I really need to eat more veg & fruit. Now my life is chocolate and crisp free! V thirsty but too tired to go downstairs for water, hoping bigger child will come looking for cuddle soon and I can despatch her on water mission, child labour

Lolimax · 01/03/2017 21:12

I came home from work in an evil mood tonight, the kind you know you're going to pick an argument just for the sake of it. It's normally meant to be my night off but DH bless him sent me packing to my nearest next class which happened to be an aerobics one I'd never been to before. Very strange maybe it's because I'm more used to dance based things? Not overly hard just a bit peculiar. It was in my nearest gym not the one I normally go to. Did the trick, got the tension out of me. What did I do before exercise? Oh yes, comfort ate lol!!

Not2bObvious · 01/03/2017 21:41

You're a changed woman loli, I think that's gas that your dh sent you off to exercise, he's clearly seen what it does for you. I don't think I'd know how to do an aerobics class now after my bootcamp/try/weightclasses - I'm visualising Jane Fonda gear, perms and sweatbands😂

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 01/03/2017 23:10

Loli I subscribe to the gospel of exercise too. No matter how shit you feel, put on the trainers and do it. You can't eat while you exercise and you always are glad that you did it. Good for you, and look what it's done for your health. And makes you feel so positive.

Daw Totally and utterly brilliant loss and being so near your goal. Sustainable loss. Fab!

Just 10 miles tonight Smile Nice and steady with my pals. Met my Running Buddy and did 3 before hand then the rest in a big group. Then to the club to organise the 3 peaks challenge. Running in teams of 4 or equal ability, going at the slowest persons pace. Really up for the challenge.

Needless to say, as my steps are 35k today, I have eaten a lot!

B - Muesli, almond milk, mango.
L - Tuna bagel, banana, peanut butter cheesecake which I didn't want but someone made.
T - scrambled egg on toast (just had)
S - 3 falafels. Gel. Eat Natural bar. Wine (small glass)

JontyDoggle37 · 02/03/2017 05:55

Need your definition of a lot of food and mine are very different - which probably explains why you're about 3 stone lighter than me! 😂
Haven't weighed this morning, no time, avo on toast and egg for brekkie, leftover chicken chilli for lunch and dinner will be a concoction as DH is out. Have a good day all!

Not2bObvious · 02/03/2017 08:11

Arg, rotten sleep has left me feeling rank this morning. Mainlining coffee in the vain hope it perks me up. On the upside I'm not hungry. Considering fasting until lunch as stomach unsettled and gripey.
I'm a little ray of sunshine today aren't I?

OP posts:
Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 08:57

Oh dear Not Hope you are okay.

Had porridge made with coconut water, mango and blueberries for breakfast.

Off to the Personal Trainer at 10am.

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 11:11

Said PT was brilliant. Lots of work on arms today. Jogging and lifting massive canisters of water. And burpees.

Love it, legs feel fresh today so might run too.

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 11:38

Lastly, I am going to try the 10 fruit and veg a day challenge for March, there's a thread on here. Anyone fancy it?

Not2bObvious · 02/03/2017 12:10

I was toying with the 10 a day need, I'll have to work my way up to it though. I'm still feeling churney of gut so just have a very plain salad for lunch, salmon with broccoli & mange tout for dinner. Apple & grapes. So that's maybe 6?

OP posts:
SesameSparkle · 02/03/2017 13:09

I already eat lots of fruit and veg. I think that's why I'm getting away with exceeding my calorie allowance whilst still maintaining - as my body can't absorb all of the calories I'm recording. By the time I finish work today I'll have had 8 portions, without adding on my tea. I've actually cut back my fruit intake since doing mfp, as I was taking on a bit too much sugar.

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 14:47

Yeah, I'm not worried if I don't hit target, but thought that eating all the fruit/veg/salad leaves far less room for crap, which is good for us all no?

B - porridge with mango and blueberries
L - left over lentil bol sauce, no pasta and massive bowl of berries with natural yogurt.
D - Chicken wraps with peppers, mushrooms, onion, big salad.
S - banana, wine.

so about 12 portions, but might be harder other days...

Not2bObvious · 02/03/2017 14:55

I'm certainly going to give it my best shot here too. After watching fat, sick, nearly dead I'm really feeling like I need to up the game in the food stakes, by having less steak 😉

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 02/03/2017 17:18

Is one of your fruit portions in the 🍷 need 😉
Afternoon weights/cardio done - phew, tough but done. Shower & food on the way

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 02/03/2017 17:22

Not and Need thank you for the good wishes and yes Not you're right - it's just an arbitrary number, but for some stupid reason I like the sound of 8lbs/60ish kgs instead of anything higher Grin.

Not sorry about the bad sleep - are you feeling better as the day goes on? Hopefully you'll have a good one tonight to get you back to your equilibrium.

Loli that is so funny and brilliant about your exercise class (and DH). You're an inspiration!

Need I'm running out of superlatives (if you'll pardon the pun) but you're so fantastic. Healthy lifestyle in every sense of the word.

Jonty I think I'm in your camp about lots of food Wink.

Sesame I am making notes about maintenance - that's brilliant that you're eating so well.

Just a quick update from me - myself and H soon heading out to our first joint session in weeks (wish us luck). No idea what we're eating tonight - depends if we're still talking to each other afterwards Confused.

I'm going to be a disaster at maintenance amn't I? No exercise to speak of and my 'health kick' is giving up Splenda. Whereas all you fab, healthy ladies are aiming for 10 portions of fruit and veg Shock. I still have so much to learn and improve but I think you're all amazing.

Not2bObvious · 02/03/2017 17:51

Best of luck with the counselling dawg, fair play to you for persevering and trying to fix things. Never mind my high hopes on veg, you've lost such a huge chunk of weight - I've been bigarse'ing around for ages, a year in fact! I think you'll do super at maintenance but pls be kind to yourself, life kicks us all - we don't need to add to it🌹🌹

OP posts:
smd5018 · 02/03/2017 18:59

I must say 10 portions of fruit and veg sounds massive to me, but maybe I'm overestimating the size of a portion? I eat lots of types of fruit and veg but I'm not sure each 1 is a whole portion if you know what I mean? I'm sure there's a diagram somewhere I can consult....
Feeling much better today and back on the salads and long walks, egg and chips for tea as per husband's request, but I'll make homemade oven chips with skins on and minimal amount of oil so not too bad if I don't have bread and butter with it!
It appears I've lost 4lb since I started 4 weeks ago, so not the 2lb a week I was aiming for but as long as it keeps going down I'm happy.

Needastrongone · 02/03/2017 19:37

Smd Your diet sounded very healthy and nutritious when you posted it last week, don't worry. Great loss. Nice and consistent.

Daw Best of luck. And you won't be a disaster. I saw the amazing picture you posted and you are amazing. Don't think so low of yourself.

Fair play to you too Not. I'm a 'crack on and do it soul' or 'f**k it and give up' sort, so kudos for keeping on keeping on. Smile

cantbelievemyeyes · 02/03/2017 20:25

Just popping my head over my pile of books to say hello! Exhausted after an exam today which I passed, but I may have eaten a few too many sweets to keep my brain ticking over! Had wanted to finish on 1400 today after a couple of days slightly over cals, but I'm now on 1500 so am buggering off for an early night Grin

SesameSparkle · 02/03/2017 23:01

smd a 'portion' is the size of the palm of your hand. Having variety is important too.

daw hope it went OK this evening? Flowers

not fat, sick, nearly.... - I never heard of it before. Where is it available?

Massive rice dish for my tea tonight. Quite a lot of calories, but I've had some bigger evening meals the last couple of nights, and I'm thinking that having a proper full up feeling has stopped me from the late night binging munching at least for the last 2 evenings ..... I need to learn to do this.... Hmm
