SOUP!! I'm living off the stuff at the mo. I make a big batch of low point chicken and sweet corn Chinese soup and have it whenever I'm hungry - it's gloopy due to the egg white and cornflower so keeps me full for hours.

QuimReaper · 26/01/2017 11:54

Chardonnay I need the recipe at once!

Damn it Quim, that would have been a wonderful thing. Grin

1pint chicken stock
100g diced chicken
1 can creamed sweet corn
Cornflour mixed with water
Egg white ( I use from a ready prepared carton)
Spring onions
Salt to taste

Heat chicken stock until boiling, add chicken and simmer for 2 mins.
Add sweet corn and spring onions and simmer for 2 mins
Add cornflour/water paste until thickened, I use quite a lot as I like it gloopy, bring to boil then simmer for 2 mins
Add a slosh of egg whites stirring constantly, after 1-2 mins season and serve!

You can add soy sauce as well. I live off it and make a big batch every weekend, so double or treble quantities.

My mouth is watering at the sound of it, it sounds right up my alley Grin

Chardonnay73 · 26/01/2017 12:38

It must be creamed sweet corn or the consistency of the soup is too thin. I get mine from ASDA. Just had a big bowl of it and I'm stuffed! And there's nothing remotely bad in it. It's been my lifesaver.

ArseyTussle · 26/01/2017 12:41

Is there one egg white in it?

Chardonnay73 · 26/01/2017 12:52

Probably 2-3, more if larger quantities

I was saying soup. I usually make a byacjbof butternut squash and sweet pot with chilli or if run out a Covent Garden carrot and coriander. Not ideal but I like and have with three ryvita and 5% fat cheese spread.

TVHubbyClaire · 26/01/2017 13:12

Quim - thanks so much for yourt thoughts, you do make alot of sense.

I thought a stone was too much because I never imagined myself weighing in atround the 12 or eleven something mark. That would be a massive thing although I fear I may have to cut off one leg to get thereConfused

I really cant wait for the scales to say 12 something even if it is 12 st 131/2 . I guess i will aim for little steps and use this group to keep me on track. I must start exercising soon too and that may help with offsetting the effects of my my first social drinking event of 2017 on Saturday and my second one the following Saturday.....Smile

QuimReaper · 26/01/2017 13:58

Chardonnay tell me more! Does it actually "get things moving"? I thought it was just a softener?

I think I quite often just don't eat enough on a run of golden days to really get going, things always springs into activity once I eat a solid meal.

I would love to reliably weigh on "empty", I was looking into that slimmers tea for the same reason...

Chardonnay73 · 26/01/2017 14:05

Maybe it was the laxative one? Put it this way, (and maybe TMI Blush) but it certainly emptied me out!!
disclaimer I am in no way advocating laxative use for weight loss!
It just helped me if I was a bit bunged up 🙄

HairsprayBabe · 26/01/2017 14:06

Bootea is good for that very purpose Quim drink it before bed and you "go" in the morning like clockwork!

QuimReaper · 26/01/2017 14:31

Hairspray the only thing I fear with these teas is that they all seem to be Fennel flavoured, which makes me gag - is Bootea fennelly?

HairsprayBabe · 26/01/2017 14:35

It is a bit liquorishee but i like that, I don't know if that is fennel though, I can't seem to find an ingredients list.

HairsprayBabe · 26/01/2017 14:36

just found the ingredients for the night time bootea

Bedtime Cleanse:

Senna leaves, Peppermint leaves, Fenugreek seeds, Liquorice root, Burdock root, Hawthorn leaves, Valerian root, Psyllium seeds.

QuimReaper · 26/01/2017 14:48

Humph yes, it's that damn aniseedy liquoricey taste that I can't stand... I guess those are the stimulants, so it wouldn't be possible to eliminate them...

HairsprayBabe · 26/01/2017 14:59

I think it is the senna leaves that make you "go" actually!

teaping · 26/01/2017 15:18

Ooo where do you buy bootea? Can I get it t the supermarket?

lastqueenofscotland · 26/01/2017 15:45

my friend had to take a day off work on that tea thing... Gastrointestinal armegedon apparently

BitOutOfPractice · 26/01/2017 18:30
