Happy New Year Slenderistas.

Let's move away from the Christmas bugger and ditch Linda for good.

Linda is a lb - result of a typo
NSV is non scale victory, e.g. going down a belt notch or someone saying you look trim etc.#

There is a website for the BSD and if you really want a good crack at it I would recommend the book as well. its only about £4 for the kindle version.

I skipped all the scary bits about people losing feet for diabetes and went straight to the bit about how to do the diet and why it works!

at MILs for tea tonight I will probably be having an omelette as she thinks my vegetarianism is "difficult"

BitOutOfPractice · 13/01/2017 13:55

Alone Archie. Alone. You won't be alone.

You most definitely will be alive. Promise.

SlimQuim that is tremendous news. Bloody well done to you! Nothing guaranteed to make you feel a million dollars than an NSV like that. Chuffed for you.

Who wants that's an excellent plan. I only hear great things about the BSD from those that try it

I think you may mean me, BOOP, you're getting your Archies mixed up with your Arseys. Grin

QuimReaper · 13/01/2017 15:13

SO

I went to Boots for a weigh-in, and to my horror saw I'd GAINED a Linda.

I decided that on this occasion there is literally no way at all that could be right, and realised I'd been wriggling a bit pulling my skirt into place on the scale, so I whacked another quid into the machine and tried again... and LO! Another Linda down, and yet another kg bracket I haven't seen in at least four years! Grin

And then since the machine doesn't give change and a weigh is only 50p I decided to have a third go just to be double-sure and got the same result again, so I'm happy with that!

There you go, a cautionary tale about standing still on the BMI machines for, ya, AND a success story Grin

QuimReaper · 13/01/2017 15:18

I didn't mean "another Linda down" I just meant "a Linda DOWN" (as opposed to up). Gawd I am all over the place today! It's all too exciting!

Thank you BOOP. I also tried on another couple of dresses while I was in a trying-on mood, and have put two in the eBay pile because they're now too big on me! One of them I wore on the first night of my Honeymoon and it just fit me, but then the next time I tried it on a week later it was too tight Blush Another was always a "fat dress" but it was such a pretty print, I wore it a few months ago and my tum bulged a bit in it, but now that it doesn't hug my waist or hips it hangs straight down and makes me look like a tree trunk.

Aaaaaah!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 13/01/2017 15:21

Quim that's amazing, well done!

Hairspray your MIL sounds a bit like my DP's mum. They are big meat-eaters and have no idea what to feed me so my DP just tells her exactly what to cook whenever we visit.

I was going to go to a bodypump class this afternoon but apparently it's a staff training day today so no classes are running. I have a busy weekend as well, so not sure I will get a chance to go. I am trying to do two a week and haven't managed to go at all so far this week! However I have been walking lots and logging 10,000 steps most days. Also this week I have been trying to do a yoga video from youtube every morning, and I'm really enjoying that.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/01/2017 15:39

Yay for the red dress, Quim! Laaaady in Reeeeeed (which always makes me think of Taggie at the Hunt Ball).

Sticking on 3lb down in 9 days. I Shredded this morning and I've got a cheap step counter - it says I've done 6400 steps so far, which includes the Shred. I have walked round Lidl - think I need to go for an actual walk to get anywhere near 10,000 steps.

QuimReaper · 13/01/2017 15:47

Ooooh thank you all! I chuckled at the Archie / Arsey mixup Arsey, if you WILL have rhyming names...!

I don't really know if the hoop was successfully toning me, because as with so many things I did it for a few weeks and then lost interest Hmm I'm much more determined now so will report back! (Also my waist isn't quite as lost under a mound of flab as it was, so if some muscles start to announce themselves I might actually see it...)

Squiffy01 · 13/01/2017 19:54

Have had a rubbish day eating! I'm just so bloody hungry. I made a roasted red pepper and feta tart thing which I have been nibbling at all afternoon Sad

KikisDeliveryService · 13/01/2017 20:32

My official weigh day shows a gain on last week sigh, but I was cheered no end by a colleague asking if I'd lost weight since last week, so all the healthy living is apparently doing me good even if my scales don't want to play fair. My fitbit is generally happy with me and I am reaching my targets most days. Plus I've been so busy today that I haven't had a chance to eat badly!

Quim you are full of WIN today, well bloody done - it was worth that crazy rain walk yesterday! Always an inspiration for us all. A question for you, do you wear the same outfit every Friday for your weigh in?

Archduke · 13/01/2017 20:57

Mornin'

Off to Parkrun shortly but thought I'd catch up with you all first. I seem to be going up and down the same few 100gm at the moment so I'm ignoring it and hoping I will get a proper loss soon. I had too much Haloumi for dinner last night (apparently there is such a thing as too much Haloumi) so I think that's what stuffed me up this morning.

Quim that's fantastic NSVing! It's so wonderful to rediscover nice clothes. I might investigate the weighted hula hoop. My waist could do with some whittling.

BOOP you had me a bit Confused with the death threats Grin Grin

Keep on keeping on people. It's totally worth it. I was SO bored last night though, I am looking forward to Feb when I can have a wine. Am so so bored of Dry January, is anyone else doing it on this thread?

BitOutOfPractice · 13/01/2017 21:48

I'm doing dry January and I'm thoroughly pissed off with it Angry

KikisDeliveryService · 13/01/2017 21:49

Hence the inadvertent death threats...

Chardonnay73 · 13/01/2017 22:23

I resisted a bottle of wine tonight. Dh is away and no one would know except me. And the scales tomorrow Hmm
Feeling very proud of myself.
There had better be a bloody loss tomorrow! 🙏

Squiffy01 · 13/01/2017 22:48

Out to dinner tomorrow night and worries I'm going to over do it after a not amazing day food wise today.
Will think of you ladies and hope to gain some willpower

Archduke · 14/01/2017 02:41

Kiki Grin Grin Grin

Dry January is awful isn't it BOOP. I feel heaps better but Sweet Baby Jesus the evenings are dull as anything. I don't feel like I can socialise with anyone as I'm such a bore.

Anyhoo, I got a PB at Parkrun this morning - 33 mins! Am STOKED.

Well done Chardonnay at resisting the wine. It's just empty fun calories.

I am going to get shitfaced on Feb 1.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/01/2017 07:39

Archie yes yes yes. You have summed it up perfectly. It's just soooooo dull. Dull dull dull dullity dull.

Anyway I have tonnes to do today including buying new running shoes (Christmas present) and preparing for my DD's first ever party-with-alcohol type party

Sorry about all the italics. CBA to retype Blush

Pinkvici22 · 14/01/2017 07:58

Morning all!

Had my second weigh in of January, and I've lost another 4lbs, so I've managed 7lbs since 1st Jan....I can't believe it!!!! You guys are so encouraging. I'm keeping going, as I'd love to lose another pound or 2 by the end of the month (still 9-12 lbs off target).

ArseyTussle · 14/01/2017 08:50

Well done Pink! You're the first one through the half stone finish line!

I'm contemplating yoga and starvation today, having had chicken korma and minstrels last night.

Pinkvici22 · 14/01/2017 09:03

Thank you!

I'm away this weekend, so won't make the gym, but I'm taking loads of food with me and planning on going on some long walks.

Hope everyone has a great weekend x

HairsprayBabe · 14/01/2017 09:52

Morning all 12.2 this morning thats -5 lindas since the 3rd when I heaved my self back on the wagon.
Off to the Theater to night for a very old pals birthday, I think we are going out for dinner but not sure where or how to limit damage.
KOKO for the weekend ladies

Chardonnay73 · 14/01/2017 10:26

A loss!! 1.5kb since Wednesday 😁 Eating all my points does work! I've done half a stone in 2 weeks! So happy !

PurpleDaisies · 14/01/2017 10:30

I'm up nearly a kg this morning but I've got my period. Do others go up as much? Yesterday wasn't the best eating day ever but I'm surprised it's this much up.

Chardonnay73 · 14/01/2017 11:00

It probably fluid/bloating. I can gain/lose 4lb in a day sometimes.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/01/2017 11:18

Excellent losses Slenderistas

I told you so Chardonnay

Was that 1.5 kilopounds you lost or 1.5 poundograms?

Purple I can easily go up 2lbs usually the day before my period.
