It certainly is amazing Cheddar!

I'm booked on my first ever spin class tonight! I am very nervous!

HairsprayBabe · 10/01/2017 12:11

very well done Cheddar

Ooh BOOP I would love to do a spin class but all the ones round here seem to be on at 8 o'clock at night and that sounds like a hideous time to do exercise! I have been in my PJ's for hours by then!

Does any one take any weight loss supplements, matcha extract or raspberry ketones? Or similar... I have just decided to start taking some African Mango extract, sounds spooky but they were on offer in Holland and Barrett and I am a sucker for a sales pitch! Looking around online there seemed to be a few studies done, 100 or so over weight people lost weight over ten weeks whilst taking them against a placebo group they lost 5 lbs more? OMG I am a scientist what is wrong with me!!!

I am desperately trying to convince myself I haven't wasted £7.99!

QuimReaper · 10/01/2017 12:31

BOOP I am petrified of spinning, props to you! I used to see the classes going on at the gym with the instructor roaring at everyone, and it all looked very military.

Hairspray um... no, I haven't...

I don't know anything about the African mango thing, please don't bother with the "raspberry ketones" though! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 12:34

I am actually proper scared. I mean, I can run for 40 minutes or so. I should be able to spin, right? My friend tells me that you can change down a few gears with nobody else knowing so I'm hanging onto that

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 12:35

Hairspray erm...no. Me neither. Never tried those things. Do you have to take them at a full moon? Wink

00100001 · 10/01/2017 12:36

I went spinning once, Nearly broke my bloody legs! I forgot it wasn't a "normal" bike!

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 12:41

Oh god! You're not helping! Grin

There is so little I can do with my dodgy shoulder that I'm looking for other things I can do

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 10/01/2017 12:49

Ha it's too late for that I bought them yesterday, was only supposed to be getting some vitamin D and st john's wort for DP ah well!
I shall take them worst case scenario is I get a bit of a boost from the placebo effect, and I will avoid spooky tabley nonsense in the future Grin

I have no idea how they are supposed to work, but I am planning on 1 before each meal with some water Confused
Lord keep me away from the shops I cannot be trusted!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 10/01/2017 12:50

I have always meant to try spinning, but I just never have. I am a little bit scared but also attracted by the idea of burning loads of calories. Report back Boop, let us know how it goes! if you survive

Wait, is matcha extract a weight loss thing? Is that why everyone is suddenly drinking matcha lattes? I had one once when I had vague ideas about cutting back on caffeine, but I must say I prefer coffee Blush

Also I did an extra weigh in today after my fast day yesterday and I have lost precisely nothing so far this week. Serves me right for not waiting until Friday Grin

KikisDeliveryService · 10/01/2017 12:53

Spinning is fine boop! You get to sit down sometimes!

My friend and I wrote poetic laments to our healthy eating today

Hers:
Oh carrots and hummous,
Long have you plagued me.
Your nutritional status and crisp snap
can help heal all that ages me.
With training and care, I can finally
attempt to eat you.
and with dedication, I have managed
to prepare and bring you,
Yet in the fridge you sit,
Mocking my greasy face zit,
You vitamin-ridden tit.
Because I, yes I,
do dream of chocolate.

My response:
Hungry rumbles emanate
But of what food to partake?
All things nice have been banned
There is nothing to consume at hand
Enforced I am to slice
All the veg once, twice and thrice
Create yet again a bowl or two
Of soupy nutrition, oh fuck you
I dream of baked goods to dunk
and slather in buttery junk
While choking down more salad
And wishing I could eat some bread.

KikisDeliveryService · 10/01/2017 12:54

Also, very envious of archduke's outside pool action today. Oh winter, how bored I am of you now.

QuimReaper · 10/01/2017 12:56

Kiki Grin

My favourite bit is

"Create yet again a bowl or two
Of soupy nutrition, oh fuck you"

That so sums it up!

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 12:57

Grin to the poems. I love how the swearing increases as they go on!

I'm bored of winter too so I'm going to Marrakesh in 3 weeks

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 10/01/2017 13:45

BOOP! Marrakesh! Shock How exciting! Is that the jaunt you and Chardonnay are slimming down for?

KikisDeliveryService · 10/01/2017 13:49

Ack SO JEALOUS Boop!

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 13:53

Erm I'm ashamed to say that no it isn't. Chardonnay and I are off to Tenerife in March. I have the good grace to be a bit embarrassed now! Blush

OP posts:
KikisDeliveryService · 10/01/2017 13:53

My soupy nutrition was all right in the end. I poached an egg in my lunch portion and added loads of miso and coriander. I am sated. Meh. This is the first day since 2nd Jan that I've really missed bread. I nearly bought a loaf of Vogel on the way back from yoga (justification: super healthy and nutritious!) but glad I didn't or I'd be mainlining it with lashings of butter and cheese at this point. I have enough self control not to buy stuff, but not to not eat it if it is in the house.

KikisDeliveryService · 10/01/2017 13:55

Hahahaha, good for you boop! I have 4 holidays lined up for spring/summer

HairsprayBabe · 10/01/2017 14:00

We are booking my birthday holiday tonight!
Off to Geneva, or the "Land of Cheese for Every Meal" as it shall now be know!

Shall be v v v romantic, sort of feeling I might come back with Dfiancé not DP Wink

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 14:21

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 10/01/2017 14:25

I went to Iceland a couple of months ago-it's a gorgeous country. What are you plans while you're there bitoutofpractice?

HairsprayBabe · 10/01/2017 14:26

I shall enjoy it anyway Grin plus we are going to see the Large Hadron Collider

00100001 · 10/01/2017 14:35

Wow BOOP That's some impressive holidaying!

BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 15:00

Well we are hoping to see the northern lights. I've been before and not seen them. Blue lagoon is on the list and we are hoping to get up on a glacier

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 10/01/2017 15:14

In my defence I have a big birthday this year so a couple of those are for my birthday although Chardonnay will tell you that I am something of a Judith Chalmers
