I hope I haven't upset you. You can eat what you want, of course Sad

I thought you were scolding me for mentioning brie and chocolate and wine when everyone was being good!

I tend to have something a bit "naughty" as a refeed after a run of golden days. Am meeting a friend for drinks ce soir at a place which doesn't have a booze license unless accompanied with food, and french bread with brie is on the "snack" list, so I tend to indulge.

Admit the Golden Eggs were unnecessary though, I bought them on Jan 3rd and have been looking at them all week Blush

BitOutOfPractice · 06/01/2017 17:58

I'm just jealous. Cheese and wine Is my absolute favourite

BeyondTheStarryNight · 06/01/2017 18:02

Mmm, cheese wine and chocolate. Ah well, at least I have...water Grin

QuimReaper · 06/01/2017 18:07

It was v insensitive of me to bring it up on a thread where everyone's being Dry!

QuimReaper · 06/01/2017 18:08

Gorgeous ink by the way Beyond, it's really coming along!

Somanyillustrations · 06/01/2017 18:14

Sounds good Legend!

So bloody hungry now... Need to get DC fed and into bed first!

BeyondTheStarryNight · 06/01/2017 18:15

I think it's fine quim - there are plenty of people doing different diets here so one person's bad food could be another person's perfect food (think eg real butter vs fry light). So personally, I see no problem with you saying what you have on a feast day rather than a fast day. Doesn't mean I won't be jealous though Wink

Ps, thanks :) that's the body done now, next time we'll start on the tail...

PurpleDaisies · 06/01/2017 18:48

I'm another one blown away by the beautiful tattoo. I've always wanted one but I'm a wimp with pain. Is it really bad?

My dh who is wonderful in many ways came home with chocolate for me to celebrate it being Friday and a bit of a hard week. It's really thoughtful of him, but we might need a talk about food presents.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 06/01/2017 19:05

Brie and wine and French bread sounds amazing Quim, enjoy!

Beyond the tattoo looks amazing! I love the colours.

This is my meal plan so far:

Saturday: homemade takeaway (I got DP a recipe book for Christmas so we are going to try out an as-yet-undecided recipe from it)
Sunday: stuffed peppers and couscous
Monday (fast day): Thai stir-fry
Tuesday: Dunno yet
Wednesday (fast day): African peanut soup
Thursday: Somerset bean stew and mashed potatoes
Friday: Chickpea pasta soup

BeyondTheStarryNight · 06/01/2017 19:07

Having them done doesn't bother me at all purple - I nearly fell asleep in there today! It's scratchy at the time, but not painful. Quite sore now though

Luckily my DH is paleoing on top of his crossfit cult so I don't have to worry about nice foods sneaking in Grin

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 06/01/2017 19:08

Daisies my DP came home with chocolate brownies for us earlier! Very thoughtful but also unhelpful. Did not stop me scoffing mine already Blush

PurpleDaisies · 06/01/2017 19:17

I've eaten all the dh choc too! Breakfast wasn't the best (lemon curd on toast in a big rush), small choc bar mid morning (fine), lunch was an Asian style broth with ginger, chilli, veggies and quorn (very good) and then there was the bonus chocolate incident. Ah well, worse things happen at sea. Dinner is steak in a Korean BBQ (jar) sauce with broccoli and egg fried rice which is pretty good so overall for a bit golden day it isn't awful.

I might think about a small tattoo then beyond if it's not utterly unbearable.

teaping · 06/01/2017 19:48

I'm jealous of all this chocolate talk! Especially when I know there's a bumper box of mini heros sitting in the next room! Friday night with no wine and no chocolate makes me very sad!!

I am feeling quite guilty though as although I stuck to low carb tonight, it was very high fat and I had an enormous plateful. Oooooooops. Think the scales will go up tomorrow! AngryBlush

TheLegendOfBeans · 06/01/2017 19:48

All my steps today have enabled me to have pudding.

Angel delight ahoy Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 06/01/2017 19:55

I've not done that well today Blush

But that's fine onwards and downwards tomorrow!

Archduke · 06/01/2017 20:10

Hi all

Well done Quim and BOOP on on the extraordinary losses. I am down 100g FFS - but it puts me in the healthy BMI range just.

Yesterday I was starving, so so hungry. Rather than being on a diet per se, I am focusing on healthy choices and smaller portions - but I do think I should probably limit my fruit - yesterday I had 4 plums, 2 bananas, melon and pineapple. Delicious but full of sugar.

I walked 7km yesterday and today it's PARKRUN! Going to be a hideous 41 degrees here. I think I will melt so am trying to load up with water before I leave the house at 7.30am.

It's a friends 40th tonight at the local pub, I am trying to do Dry January but not sure I can hold out . . . If anyone has advice on avoiding the booze I'd be grateful. For some reason I don't want to tell anyone about it (apart from you lot).

KikisDeliveryService · 06/01/2017 20:28

Archduke By contrast I did a 5k run in -1C yesterday, in the dark! I got to wear all my new light up/flashing bits and pieces. Alongside my legwarmers and thermal headband I really looked like I could have been going to a 90s rave.

Avoiding booze - drink from wine glasses and have stuff like lime and soda, tonic, or sparkling elderflower if on offer? ie fizzy drinks that look like they could be booze.

ponygirlcurtis · 06/01/2017 20:42

That's beautiful Beyond. Phoenix is one of the things I would consider if I ever got a tattoo. I have also always wanted one but parental judgement has put me off. Maybe it's time to rebel!! Grin

Fantastic results for Quim and BOOP - really well done! And your week's menu sounds lush Spurious, can I have some? Wink

I am going to get a Hairy Bikers cookbook, can anyone recommend one to get?

KikisDeliveryService · 06/01/2017 20:57

quim boop I completely forgot to congratulate you! Bad Kiki. Well Blooming Done WHOOP WHOOP! What a wonderfully inspiring pair of thread queens you are Smile Flowers

My hot news is this: I have (temporarily I hope) gone off cheese. It is not on my banned list yet I don't want it. Even though I'm drinking a glass of wine (apologies to dry Janners). I seem to have hit that magical moment where I only crave healthy food, like humus and falafel and wine. It won't last, I am enjoying it while it does!

BitOutOfPractice · 06/01/2017 21:13

Kiki you've gone off cheese? Are you sure you're not coming down with something?

Pony I'd recommend any of the Hairy Dieters books. The latest one (it's called Fast something?) is very good but you really cannot go wrong with any of them. We've never had a recipe fail us yet. The curries and Chinese food in particular.

OP posts:
KikisDeliveryService · 06/01/2017 21:19

It's a worry boop. Normally if I quit sugar I end up replacing it with cheese. But I crave neither. There is Christmas cheese in the fridge, unopened. It is highly probably I've been taken over by aliens.
