Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Ok I am committed, going to do as ieattomuch suggested and make small changes every week. I gave up fizzy drinks last Thursday so that can be my first change, then I will add in something else later this week. Maybe giving up chocolate.

I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, I snack on chocolate and crisps and other junk food all day whenever I am bored/stressed/grumpy. I eat much better when I am at home as I don't want DC to eat like I do Blush

I didn't add my stats to my previous post, so here they are:
Name: Fabian
Age: 34
Weight: 18st 11
To lose: 123lbs
Lost so far: 0

I may not weigh myself every week as progress will probably be slow

Hello and good luck to everyone :)

Fabiantheking · 02/01/2017 21:58

Sorry that was meant to say as eatingtomuch suggested.

NorfolkEnchance · 02/01/2017 22:17

Would I be able to join please? I'd like to lose about 6 stone (84lb)
I did lose 3 stone using map but 2 children later I'm heavier than I've ever been.

eatingtomuch · 02/01/2017 22:27

I've been for a 20min walk today. I have also cooked up some meals for next week for when I'm back at work. I'm hoping if I'm organised it will help me stay on track.
My changes for this week is to start walking three times a week.

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 02/01/2017 22:47

Day One over! I'm a bit hungry but am in bed ignoring it.

I've made healthier choices and walked the dog.

Night all Flowers

DoubleGin · 03/01/2017 07:39

Morning guys !
Chesty well done for ignoring it ! That's what I do, go to bed ! Ha
Fast day today, going to go do the food shopping and also go for a walk, then it should be around time for me to eat !

CrazyDuchess · 03/01/2017 08:36

Well up until this point I have been failing miserably - but today is my first day at work and determined to get my head in gear and try to make better choices, log EVERYTHING that passes my lips and try to log some minutes on the exercise bike

I don't want to fail again Sad

TiggyCBE · 03/01/2017 09:09

I lost half a stone overnight! Smile

By reading my scales properly. Blush

New starting weight: 17st 9lb.

DoubleGin · 03/01/2017 09:16

You can do this duchess !!

Haha nice surprise tiggy !

CrazyDuchess · 03/01/2017 09:42

Well I have booked an appointment with my GP- I have to admit that if I am going to be successful this year I will need the support from here and the wider world (also implications due to chronic Ill-health) so that's a positive step for me :)

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/01/2017 09:53

Gin - hope your fast day goes...erm, fast? for you Smile

Duchess that is a positive step! Well done!

Tiggy - that is impressive Wink Grin

Good luck to everyone else today too Smile

I'm back at work tomorrow, so today is a bit of a prep day to set me up for the rest of the week - I'll take leftovers from tonight's dinner for lunch tomorrow, then I just need to think about getting through Thursday and Friday before it's the weekend again (I'll still stick to my plan, but my brain likes the thought of a break!)

I've done a morning meditation session, will do a yoga video today too. I walk back and forth to work, so at least from tomorrow I'll get back to getting some exercise in that way too. Maybe walk a slightly different way home to get 10000 steps in (normally it's only about 7-8000). Hoping it will all add up Smile

Lumberries · 03/01/2017 11:08

Can I join?

18st 5lbs as of yesterday morning and need to be in the 12 stone bracket in time for my wedding on 14th April 2018... I've got a year basically before I need to dress hop and I'm terrified!

I'm doing Weight Watchers but I'm not doing low fat/ chemical stuff, just proper food!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/01/2017 14:31

Hope everyone is having a good day - I have meal-planned and shopped for the week ahead. Fridge and freezer both look very virtuous! DCs are not overly impressed, but there is some chocolate they have forgotten about in one of the cupboards. I'm not a fan of chocolate, so I think it's safe enough having it in the house.

My positivity has taken a bit of a hit, as I forgot about the headaches I got when first starting low carb (as I've been so slack of late, I guess this counts as starting again) but hoping it will pass in a day or two. Probably a combo of that and a sudden drop in wine consumption compared with the last few weeks! (Sorry for the slight stream of consciousness in my posts - I'm sure you all don't really need to know this much about my life, but it helps keep me accountable when starting afresh Blush - they'll decrease once I'm back at work! )

DoubleGin · 03/01/2017 14:36

Hello lumberries !!

Tractor I tried a yoga video this morning, not my cup of tea but I am surprised at how much it works your body ! Going to take the baby out for a walk later to get my steps in ! I also have meal planned and done the shop today, doesn't it feel nice to have a full fridge of healthy things ! Hope the headaches subside soon ! Don't be sorry for mentioning family life etc, I quite like it, reminds me that your guys are all real people behind the screens !

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/01/2017 14:57

Anyone else peeing a ridiculous amount?
Got up 4 times between 11pm and 6am Hmm

Is it tea time yet? Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 03/01/2017 16:09

Ah poop, I lost a post! Anyway, welcome everyone new. Smile

Going to do an SP week on SW. Starting Thursday but actually today has been accidental sp anyway 😂

Lumberries · 03/01/2017 17:10

Well today is going well!

I get 41 daily smartpoints on Weight Watchers so today I've had/ will be having:

2 eggs on a whole wheat bagel with ketchup: 11sps

Goats cheese and beetroot salad with olive oil: 10sps (and it was bloody lush)

Roast chicken, roast potatoes (done in the actifry), roast parsnips, veggies and gravy: 11sps.

As a snack I've had a bag of 100cal popcorn done in the microwave (3sps) and I'll probably use the final 6sps tonight on some cheese and crackers or a hot chocolate at bed time :) I've also snacked on an orange and a nectarine.

I'm avoiding low fat products completely and trying to stick to none processed foods where I can :)

DameBurleyChassis · 03/01/2017 18:27

I'd like to join if I'm not too late?

Won't be able to weigh myself until I pick up some new scales (probably Thurs) but know I have around 120lbs to lose.

Going it alone to begin with as I have loads going on and won't be able to commit to a regular SW group. Hopefully by March I'll be able to join because I know I'll do better long term if I have some group support.

I've lost a lot of weight before (80+ lbs) but always felt fat so I just need to get back on it, make my healthy choices and chip away at it.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 03/01/2017 18:45

Another frequent wee-er here Grin
Stuck to plan today but finding SW harder this time round? I think I didn't realise how much junk I've been eating!

eatingtomuch · 03/01/2017 20:15

I've had a good day today. Been productive and emptied and cleaned out every kitchen cupboard. I've rearranged things and got rid of all out of date things Blusheverything feels nice and clean and not much xmas food left, which is good.
I have kept on track with food. I'm not buying slimming or fat free foods. Going to try to reduce processed foods and eat clean.
Feeling tired but pleased with today's efforts.

ShelaghTurner · 03/01/2017 20:40

Starting tomorrow morning but amazed myself by walking 3 miles yesterday round a park trail! I have bad lower back pain if I walk further than the end of the road for the last couple of years and this has really been affecting the amount of exercise I can do but yesterday I decided enough was enough and I refused to miss out on family activities any more. It was up hills and in mud and everything. I was so chuffed with myself and knackered

BreakingSad · 03/01/2017 20:47

Good day today

Kept on track with calories and half a hour on the exercise bike. Trying to avoid eating my exercise calories Smile

SixtyDegreesNorth · 03/01/2017 21:01

Hello lovely ladies Smile

I lost 7st in my twenties, then got married and had three kids. Youngest is 4 and he does not sleep so I have put on 4 stone since I had him.

I could cope with being 3st overweight, but cannot cope the size I am currently. I am tired and grumpy all the time, and at 47yo I cannot afford to be this unhealthy.

Not quite ready to start, but almost there. Want to lose 104lb to get to target. Not sure if I will get there, but want to get as near to target as I can.

Lumberries · 03/01/2017 21:04

Not weeing any more often but (prepare for way TMI) I've pooped 5 times today and all have been massive ShockBlush

Came on AF this evening so I'll be ravenously hungry all week now Sad

I can't go totally off the rails every month though so I need to stop using it as an excuse to binge eat and try my very best to stay on track. Talk about a bad time to start though, AF arrives and I've got a heavy cold so it seems my body is totally working against me this week!

However I'm bloody determined not to screw this up, I haven't got time to dick about! Only 67 weeks until the wedding and I'd love to lose 100 - 120lbs

If I have to drag myself through this one bloody day at a time I will.

That's what got me through today, just thinking to myself 'get to the end of today without binging. You can do it. Just 1 day'.. I just got into bed binge free :)

Lumberries · 03/01/2017 21:05

SixtyDegreesNorth I want to be you by the sounds of it :)

I'm 26 and about to start my life, getting married and planning a family and I want to lose about 7/8 stone before that. How did you do it?
