Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Gosh you are all doing so well. Thanks for the encouragement too.

Well, had a rubbish week but I knew I would due to huge work events. For those who do ww, I was 71 points over this week!!! Which is after my fitpoints have been used. But I only put on half a pound which is way less then it would have been in the past. Back on it this week.

If I can drop 3lbs by next week I get my £40 very voucher, so worth being strict. Anyone on ww? What have you found to be your winning meals?

StubbleTurnips · 16/03/2017 09:35

Welcome somuch

No experience of WW slithy im rubbish at any of those kind of plans. I start figuring out how I can eat the most choc / crisps within points / syns so automatically start trying to diet dodge Grin

Somuchweighttolose · 16/03/2017 13:01

Thank you for the welcome, I really need to start but I find it so hard to give up bad habits agh

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 16/03/2017 18:45

Thanks all for the exercise ideas - I do around 7-8k steps per day, so think I'm going to up that to 10k, and then increase incrementally. I'll build up my time on the cross trainer too, maybe focus on some podcasts or something.

Welcome back Somuch - just start small to begin with, nothing scary. I play the 'what extra veg can I add to this meal' and am clearing out the freezer of lots of random veg in the process. Even if you're still eating some crap, your nutrition levels will improve, and then you'll naturally start to decrease the crap. It just won't taste as good - I know I'm finding that more and more each day Smile

Thank you tractors :)

Has anyone heard or used
"Switch words"? Apparently it's a good tool for weight loss

MirabelleTree · 16/03/2017 20:09

Not heard of switch words, what are they ?

Gallbladder playing up yet again. Might be a good time to suggest everyone makes sure they are getting some good quality fats in their diets and not to lose too fast.

I'm going to need some new clothes for summer. A bit less tentesque would be good...

Somuchweighttolose · 16/03/2017 22:43

Apparently trains the brain into not wanting to overeat.

Gallbladder pain is awful you have my sympathy!

Not had s chance to read through can I be nosey and ask how many have lost weight and how much?

MirabelleTree · 17/03/2017 00:36

Sounds interesting, will have a read. A fair few of us have lost now. I'm at thirty something pounds, will update in the morning as weigh day. We've lost collectively something like 230 pounds so far using a variety of different methods.

I haven't heard of that Notanurse. A silly question but how do I take it ?

3.25lb off for me this week (week 18). Total loss 41 lbs , 59lbs to go. 9lb to op target with 10 weeks to go.

Thank you very much , I've ordered some which will be here tomorrow. Would be brilliant if they help, fingers crossed.

Somuchweighttolose · 17/03/2017 11:34

fab losses well done :)

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 18/03/2017 09:32

Another week staying the same Blush - I think my diet has been ok this week, but I'm still full of the cold and seemed to remember this happened the last time. Hopefully the scales will start moving again next week - it's a busy one, so should burn a few calories!

To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 24.5 lbs
Left to lose: 99.5 lbs
Lost this week: 0 lbs

StubbleTurnips · 18/03/2017 13:44

No change here, feel a bit gutted as I've stayed in calories. I haven't done as much walking though as the buggy is broken with another puncture so I've been waiting on a new wheel again!

BreakingSad · 18/03/2017 18:08

No change here either, but at least it's not a gain. Haven't been feeling it this week, so although I've been within calories, I haven't been making the best choices.

ZestyDragon · 18/03/2017 23:50

Hey guys, if you are sticking to your diet and exercise and aren't losing you may find you get a larger loss in a few weeks. This damn weight loss thing isn't consistent - just remind me I said that when it happens to me though......

Start: 287lbs
Current: 250lbs
Loss this week: 2lbs
Loss: 37lbs
To go: 90lbs
Goal: 160lbs

Mirebelle - are you getting your gall bladder out? I had mine out 10 years ago. I had over a hundred small stones. I felt so much better afterwards. Tramadol works for pain relief as does a hot water bottle.

Well done on your loss notanurse even with bad food choices. I have had one of those weeks too and like you, it usually leads to a total loss of control so I am really trying to reign it in.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 20/03/2017 13:03

Hope you're all having a good day - I'm still fighting this bloody cold, but I think it's finally on the shift! DCs and DH are fine, don't know why it's hanging about with me!

I'm out and about with work this week so will need some discipline to stay on the straight and narrow Smile - just need to watch I don't get too tired and keep on avoiding the wine, both of those kill my good intentions!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 21/03/2017 15:12

Gosh it is quiet in here - hope you're all ok! We've had a few flurries of snow but nothing lying - DS was hoping for sledging Grin

I'm sticking to my diet this week - making sensible choices and resisting the lure of cheap and easy food whilst on the go. Bit too much coffee perhaps - but its black with no sugar and nothing to accompany it, so I'll allow myself that!

ZestyDragon · 21/03/2017 15:28

It snowed here too this morning but I still went for a walk before work! (polishes halo).

I am sticking to the diet and now on some kind of nerve blocker for the back pain - day 5 and I think it takes a while to work so I am not sure if it should be improving and whether I am unreasonable to expect no pain at all.

I am having some issues with creme eggs btw. I keep eating the damn things.

BreakingSad · 21/03/2017 20:22

No snow here Sad I've bought some sleighs 3 years ago and not one bit of snow. My Dc will be grown up before they get to use them Grin

I'm sticking to my diet too this week I feel in a good place, the last couple of weeks I really struggled and couldn't get with it.

Hope the pain improves soon Zestydragon

Rumtopf · 22/03/2017 08:46

Hope your pain improves Zesty, do you see anyone at a pain clinic to help you manage?

There've been some amazing losses, I'm seriously impressed! I've sts which considering I have been ill all last week (did a favour for a friend looking after her ds as her childcare fell through, he then infected me with a horrid virus! Bleugh) isn't so bad.

Was back in the gym yesterday, albeit taking it rather slowly so I didn't have a coughing fit. I feel really out of sorts now if I don't exercise, a bit crabby so I suppose my body is getting used to the endorphins. We try and go on a Monday and Thursday evening (dd has a late club), I go on a Tuesday morning and swim on a Wednesday evening and then once on a weekend too. As well as walking the dogs every day so I normally do around 12-13'000 steps. I'm working to be fit enough again to go back to the Kettlebells class I used to do which is hard core. I tried C25K on the treadmill and haven't got past the week one runs so I'll stick to my fast fat burning walking!
