Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Thanks for the working out Tractors

Having an ok week walked 4 miles today and just over 3 yesterday (with the buggy board and 3st toddler on it!), although AF arrived for the 2nd time in 3 weeks - joys of post baby hormones the doctor told me Sad

Hope everyone is KAIT!

Rumtopf · 07/03/2017 21:23

Oh it's nice to be back and reading of everyone's successes! I've not been able to access the site as it was so interminably slow.
Will have a proper read through and catch up. I've only lost 1lb more so am at 13lbs total. AF week atm so it's a write off weight wise.

Rumtopf · 07/03/2017 21:48

Zesty that sounds horrific, how're you doing today?

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 09/03/2017 17:59

It's a bit quiet on here, hope you're all doing ok!

I'm so glad this week is almost over, it's been a long one! I have a paneer and cauliflower curry bubbling away on the hob which smells amazing, just hoping I can keep my eyes open long enough to eat it!

I had a bit of a non-scale victory today - wore a top that was a bit tight in January, and it fits perfectly today. I'll probably shrink it in the wash now, but there we go Grin

StubbleTurnips · 09/03/2017 19:37

Tractors Grin

ZestyDragon · 09/03/2017 22:21

Notanurse well done on the loss!

Notractors well done on looking svelte in your top!

I have had a rough week painwise and I am quite sick of it. Went back to work this week with a walking stick. This has been so upsetting. On the other hand, my staff have been lovely and ignore my threats to batter them with said stick. Pain makes me tetchy but they all make me bloody laugh Smile

Physio tonight. My back has always been an issue but she was shocked at how bad it is. She described it as my muscles being oversensitized - I may have pulled something slightly last week that caused my back muscles to sort of overreact Blush

This afternoon the stick was removed from my office as I was getting too dependant on it so that I could potter around without it. That went pretty well so I will leave it in the car tomorrow for use in emergencies only!

Diet wise - no exercise but sticking to my calories so hopefully not too bad.

MirabelleTree · 10/03/2017 07:08

Zesty I'm so impressed you are doing this despite the pain, and even keeping your sense of humour Flowers

Well done Notanurse and NoTractors.

3.25lbs off for me this week (wk 17) . Total loss 37.75lbs, 62.25lb to go. People are noticing now but too polite to say about weight so are saying 'you look really well' in a slightly surprised voice! Surgery target very doable and into a new BMI bracket.

StubbleTurnips · 10/03/2017 20:13

Good work mirabelle! I had someone tell me I look really well, followed by 'for someone who's had a baby 10w ago' - didn't feel like such a compliment then Grin

Not expecting the scales to budge tomorrow - I've either walked 3m everyday or done a postnatal HIIT video, but had 2 birthday lunches out and birthday supper for FIL this evening. If I maintain I'll be pleased.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 11/03/2017 09:23

Zesty I hope you're feeling better today, you're being very strong about this, will keep my fingers crossed that things will continue to improve.

Mirabelle - well done! And fantastic that the surgery target is going to be achievable. Knew you could do it Smile

Stubble you are doing so well for just having had a baby Turnip 10 weeks ago - I was in a total baby haze with both of mine at that point!

I'm quite glad I had my clothing victory earlier this week, as I've lost precisely nothing Blush Looking at MFP, although I've stayed within my calories, I think I've been a bit too carb heavy and haven't drunk enough water, which does make a huge difference. To be worked on this week!!

To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 24.5 lbs
Left to lose: 99.5 lbs
Lost this week: 0 lbs

ZestyDragon · 11/03/2017 10:39

Start: 287lbs
Current: 252lbs
Loss this week: 4lbs
Loss: 35lbs
To go: 92lbs
Goal: 160lbs

Thanks Mirabelle and NoTractors. I have been off the walking stick for the last two days but still stiff and sore - though miles better than last week.

I really didn't think I would lose weight this week but I think I am eating less due to discomfort. AF due tomorrow and I am dreading it as my back always hurts more then.

slithytove · 11/03/2017 12:20

Weigh in day

Age 30
To lose: 100lbs
Lost this week: 1.5lbs
Lost to date: 7.5
Left to lose: 92.5lbs

A loss so that's good, but feel disheartened it's going so slowly - I've been under my weekly points and earned fitpoints, and kind of expected a bigger loss. In this for the long haul I guess.

BreakingSad · 11/03/2017 16:24

You shouldn't feel disheartened Slithy, 1.5 this week and 2.5 last week, that's brilliant.

Zestydragon well done on the loss and so glad you're improving.

Stubble, wow you are doing incredible, 3m everyday is no mean feat and with a newborn and toddler as well, hope the scales are in your favour.

Mirabelle well done and you'll hit that target well within time.

Notractors it's a good feeling when that happen, I might just try on some old clothes and see if I'll have any clothes victoryGrin.

Notanurse well done and Rumtopf won't be long until you're hitting the first stone mark.

2 lbs loss this week (was looking for 3 lbs as that's what I gained last weekBlush). Feeling normal agin after AF so back to it.

StubbleTurnips · 12/03/2017 08:58

Half on - my own fault for eating cheese at supper being social Grin

Start: 249lb
Current: 213lb
Loss this week: +0.5
Loss: 36
To go: 30ish

tractors I find that sometimes when you maintain you see a bigger loss the following week. Drinking lots of water helps, has anyone tried one of those water apps that reminds you to drink?

Well done slithy zesty and breaking great losses this week!!

I've read but am finding it tricky to respond to everyone without seeing your posts to refer to on the app! Will try harder later x

However after a horrific AF I weighed this morning and have lost 2lbs! So, 15 total and 89 to go. Off out for Sunday lunch now for my Mum's Birthday. Will be good!

MirabelleTree · 13/03/2017 07:20

Slithy, Zesty, Breaking, NotAnurse and Rumtopf a big well done. Turnips, that half will be off next week and well done for being over halfway there.

Zesty I hope the pain is less now, amazing loss in the circumstances.

Shit weekend with my gallbladder with it kicking off both days, then woken up to AF this morning. Food is starting to feel the enemy as anything or even no food is kicking gallbladder off now. As a result 2 low calorie days, hoping today will be more normal and the sodding thing won't flare up again.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/03/2017 20:09

Mirabelle that sounds awful, you poor thing. Hope you and Zesty are feeling better, and that everyone else has had a good start to the week.

I'm having a quiet sulk on the sofa as I'm stuffed full of the cold again - primary-age children harbour so many bugs! I've got a massive sweet potato chipotle chili on the hob in the hope I can see it off with that! Smile It will last a good few days too, so no need to cook until about Thursday Grin

Well done notanurse!

I'm mainlining lemsip and have eaten two creme eggs today Blush - but I was really craving them for some reason and savoured every last bit.

I'm really struggling for motivation to exercise - how are the rest of you getting on? I don't want to push it, but feel I should be doing more than I actual am - thinking of trying to get a routine in place before the nights get too much lighter, so I can make the most of them. DH tends to do bedtimes for the DCs anyway, so it seems a good opportunity....I just haven't quite got into the swing of things Blush

Well done Notanurse

Notractors I cycle mon - fri for 30 minutes in the morning. I had set a challenge to do the cycling for a month to push myself and I'm now I'm so use to it, that I will make time later if I can't do it in the morning (it helped me form a habit) I've been doing this since October. But I have a exercise bike at home so it's easy to hop on and watch a box set, not sure how well I'd do, if I had to go outside and cycle though.

I also try and hit the 10000 steps a day and since the new year I go for a 6-10 km every Saturday.

I try and make the time to do something for me and my health and I try and separate it from my weight loss, as I don't want to fall into a trap of just exercising to gain more calories, if that makes sense. I will incorporate some free weights soon and yoga (love yoga but not very good), but I enjoy doing at these activities so I don't find them a chore and for me that's the key, do something you enjoy.

Break it up into smaller chunks, better to do 2 or 3 lots of 10 minutes if 30 minutes in one go isn't doable, it all adds up.

Now just need to keep working on my eating Grin

Somuchweighttolose · 15/03/2017 15:50

Can I join?
Or technically re-join Blush I was here under another username in Jan ICantThinkOfAUsernameH I fell off the wagon

MirabelleTree · 15/03/2017 20:40

Well done Notanurse abs I'm glad your gallbladder has settled down.

Sympathy on the lurgy Notractors it has hit here as well. I'm only on walking at the moment but I make sure a decent chuck of it it fast enough to make me hot and a bit breathless.

Welcome back Somuch , always room on the wagon!

Somuchweighttolose · 15/03/2017 21:01

I'll take up a lot of room haha!
I just keep eating crap then feeling bad I don't know where to start agh

MirabelleTree · 15/03/2017 21:08

Hour by hour to start with, don't look at the big picture at thd beginning .
