Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Thank you notractors you are right, its a temporary blip and I'll get through it! with drugs I just dozed off on the sofa and when I sat up the pain was unreal and that's with the co-codamol!

Well done slithy and hope you feel better soon. Having extra chocolate etc in the house is a disaster for me too.

Welcome isithot and congratulations on the great weight loss so far. Yeah, the loose skin is a bit of a worry but I guess its better for us than being fat.

MirabelleTree · 02/03/2017 07:16

Welcome isithot, great loss so far. Well done Slithy!

Really sorry to hear that Zesty and hope you're pain free very soon. I'd be feeling the same as you about putting on weight with no exercise. But thinking about it you still burn off a healthy whack of calories a day before any exercise so if you eat within them you will be fine. I don't know about anyone else but for me at this stage the 1lb loss equal 3500 calories works for me as an average over the weeks .If you're not moving as much hopefully you won't want as much food and therefore be able to have a deficit over the week leading to a loss without exercise.

isithotinhereorisitjustme · 02/03/2017 10:28

Definitely Zesty - far healthier to be a bit baggy, but much less heavy. I've read the full thread now - hope you are on the mend very soon.

So I was prescribed Diazepam today as a muscle relaxant. Its the lowest dose so I hope it helps. I also had physio and the therapist did some acupuncture so here is hoping for an improvement tomorrow.

I am being very careful with my diet so hopefully I will still have a loss.

Fingers crossed you wake up feeling a bit better today Zesty.

3lbs off for me today . Total loss 34.5lbs , 65.5lbs to go. 15lbs to surgery target, 12 weeks to go so still on track.

Notanurse I do have a bit more energy in the evenings I think. I'm sleeping pretty well and can walk much faster. Looking forward to being not quite so hot and sweaty in the summer.

BreakingSad · 03/03/2017 09:21

Hello Isithot and Slithy and great loss this week Slithy.

Zestydragon hope you're feeling some improvement today.

Mirabelle and Notanurse well done great losses this week. I hope your daughter is feeling better Notanurse.

I've had a terrible week, AF arrived with a vengeance and completely wiped me out, had no desire to cycle or do MFP or anything to be honest, which was bad timing as for once I had a good weekend. Today I felt better and cycled for 30mins albeit on an easy level, but feel in control today, although not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow as I know I've gained. Not going to sit and dwell, just get back to it Grin

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 03/03/2017 20:22

How are we all doing? I'm not expecting a loss on the scales tomorrow, but I'm feeling good and really positive about myself for a change, so I don't mind too much.

I took the DCs to visit a friend who has a litter of puppies, so I've spent the afternoon in snuffley, snuggly puppy heaven! (Little irish red setters - so silky!) These pups have had homes lined up since they were a twinkle in their father's eye - so sadly for the DC's and me there will be no additions to the Tractors household, but since DH's old terrier passed on last year, I'm rather tempted Grin When the time comes, we'll get a rescue, but it's quite nice to pretend we could have taken one of those pups home! Definitely lifted the spirits - I know this winter has been mild, but it seems to have been very long, so a cheery afternoon was very welcome!

StubbleTurnips · 04/03/2017 08:33

Welcome isit

Hope you're starting to feel better now zesty

Great work slithy and mirabelle

breaking don't worry, that was me last week. I'm impressed with the cycling, I couldn't be bothered the past week after AF!

Sorry if I've missed anyone on my phone on a long trip! Not a bad week here after my cock up on Tuesday and the cheeseburger / pancake day!

Start: 245lbs
Current: 212.5lb
Loss this week: 1.5lb
Loss: 35.5lb
To go: 30ish

StubbleTurnips · 04/03/2017 08:37

tractors as lovely as pups are just thinking of the work house training I loved our spaniel as a pup, but can no way imagine training him with kids too Shock Nice to cuddle them though!

MirabelleTree · 04/03/2017 09:03

Well done Stubble, that's 2.5,stone gone and you're over half way.

NoTractors that's brilliant you're feeling good and I think just as important as seeing the scales move, helps with the whole endurance aspect. I'm till slightly scarred by my dog's puppy days and she is 8 this year! I have a lot to thank her for though as without her I doubt I'd be out walking in all weathers.

Breakingsad AF week is a PITA, can totally sympathise with the don't want to move feeling . Well done for literally getting back on your bike!

There was a lot of downward movement on the scales overnight and I'm 2.5 lbs lighter than yesterday morning. Can't count it as not a Friday but hope it is still there next week!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 04/03/2017 09:30

Well done all!
Pleasant surprise on the scales this morning - I'm 2.5 lbs down! Turns out I'm rubbish at gauging weight loss Blush - officially through the 100lbs barrier now Smile

To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 24.5 lbs
Left to lose: 99.5 lbs
Lost this week: 2.5 lbs

MirabelleTree · 04/03/2017 11:17

Brilliant No tractors Smile

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 04/03/2017 13:16

Thank you - I'm very happy about hitting that target Smile Next target is 95lbs to go - aiming to be there in two weeks time Smile

There's still a long way to go, but I'm starting to believe this loss is actually achievable. I know I'm determined to never see these numbers on the scales ever again.

BreakingSad · 04/03/2017 14:27

Well done Notractors, Stubble and Mirabelle.

I've put on 3lbs Blush but it just makes me more determined to carry on. So much so that I exceeded my expectations when out for a walk today and reached 9.6km, although slipping up and landing in stinging nettles wasn't part of the planGrin.

ZestyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:04

Start: 287lbs
Current: 256lbs
Loss this week: 2lbs
Loss: 31lbs
To go: 96lbs
Goal: 160lbs

Well done on the great losses this week everyone! Grin

After physio and getting the diazepam on Thursday I woke up Friday morning unable to walk. I literally crawled to the bathroom on my hands and knees crying with pain. So clearly those didn't work....

This morning DH helped me out of bed and I didn't have to crawl but I did go downstairs on my bum. I think that's an improvement Confused I managed a short walk this evening after loads of anti-inflammatories.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 05/03/2017 09:33

Oh Zesty you poor thing! I hope you're feeling a bit better and more mobile today. Bloody well done on losing this week too, I hope that gives you a bit of a mental boost.

Breaking - AF is a bitch, I'm sure that 3lbs will come back off once it's finished. Ouch for the nettles - DS appears to be attracted to them like a magnet, so you have my sympathy!

I'm feeling very industrious this morning and already have tonight's dinner blipping away in the slow cooker (moroccan-ish chicken stew - sounds much more impressive than it actually is!).

ChestyNut · 05/03/2017 10:28

I'm back I missed last week as fell off the wagon Sad

Week 11
Lost this week- 3 1/2 lbs
Total lost- 14 3/4 lbs
To lose-100
Left to lose- 85 1/4 lbs

A stone at last!
If only it came off as easy as it goes on.
Downhearted with how slow it is but at least it's in the right direction I guess?

Have a good week everyone Flowers

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 05/03/2017 11:23

So...I was a little bored earlier (I'm supposed to be doing some work, and haven't quite dredged up the enthusiasm for it) and did a quick reckoning in Excel for how much weight has been lost over the course of this thread so far....any guesses?

251 lbs! That's more than I currently weigh! Fantastic job all Grin

BreakingSad · 05/03/2017 13:34

Way to go everyone, so between us we've lost a person....that's brilliant Notractors Grin

ZestyDragon · 05/03/2017 16:18

Welcome back chestynut and well done on the loss so far.

Notractors 251 is amazing!

Today no crawling or shuffling though plenty of pain. Its sloooowly getting better and I did a short walk so feeling more in control.

MirabelleTree · 06/03/2017 07:16

Well done Chestynut - Keeping At IT or KAIT is the secret!

251lbs is amazing, we're doing well Grin

Zesty glad your on the mend but huge sympathies, sounds horrible.

Well done notanurse! I'm wondering about that too - I can't see any difference myself, but I know the scales and inches speak otherwise.

I'm having a good week so far (I know, it's only Tuesday, but it's been really busy!) - but so tired, I might be in bed before the DCs at this rate Wink!
