Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Very weak bladder but I've have spinal surgery so my nerves in that area are a bit trashed anyway. Legs crossed for coughs and sneezes always!

ZestyDragon · 15/02/2017 14:55

Mirabelle - good to know that its getting better.

Drunkve - I had a cough and cold for 2 weeks recently. It was a disaster! I had to bring spare clothes to work with me.

StubbleTurnips · 15/02/2017 15:18

Can I bob into this thread too?

At Xmas I was 17st 7 (albeit 9m pregnant, but I haven't been less that 16st for years). Have since had Turnip2 and been eating low cal / walking everywhere.

Name: StubbleTurnips
Diet: low calorie (using MFP)
Weight now: 15st 6
Loss this week: 1/2lb

I've walked 4.8miles today, I want to start C25K again but I'm too heavy for the running. Need to be around 14st 7 to run without killing my knees.

Drunkvet · 15/02/2017 15:43

Mirabelle- nightmare 😱

ZestyDragon · 15/02/2017 17:26

Hi Turnips - I am using MFP too along with the fitbit. Walking really helps and I am a long long way off running.

MirabelleTree · 15/02/2017 17:57

Hi Turnips, I'm doing similar with Nutracheck and Fitbit. I like the feeling of control it gives me and being able to adjust things to work round what's going on in life.

PopsicleBopsicle · 15/02/2017 18:09

Can I join too please? This is the year I'm finally going to do it and hopefully conceive again!

Name: Popsicle
Diet: low carb high fat
Start date: Feb 2nd
Total loss: 2lbs
To loose: 98lbs

MirabelleTree · 15/02/2017 18:10

Hi Popsicle, glad you're joining us in sorting this weight thing once and for all!

PopsicleBopsicle · 15/02/2017 18:15

Thanks Mirabelle :) it's nice to have some company!

Drunkvet · 15/02/2017 18:34

Hi popsicle Hi StubbleT glad I'm not today's only newbie Smile

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 15/02/2017 19:56

Ooh, hi to all new bods! This thread is very supportive so hope you will find it useful Smile

I'm doing well so far this week (I know, its only Wednesday...) - looking forward to keeping it going. Unusually for us we have plans for Friday night and Saturday night, so I'm going to behave myself on at least one of those nights, and cut myself a little slack on the other, or I'll run the risk of just saying 'fuck it' and having a blow out Hmm

My cold has FINALLY gone so going to start exercising again - will start by going for a loooong walk on Saturday Smile

MirabelleTree · 16/02/2017 13:23

Saw Consultant this morning, op scheduled for 14 weeks time and aim is to get BMI under 35. I need to keep current pace up and I will be ok. He did say if I need longer I can ring his secretary and reschedule but I don't want to do that.

Scales not moved as yet this week but hopefully this is down to AF.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 16/02/2017 18:03

Great news that you have a date and the BMI is achievable Mirabelle - we'll all be here cheering you on Smile

I was on a training course today and lunch was just sandwiches and fruit - so not exactly low carb Hmm but I just didn't eat very much (3/4 of a sandwich) and have a sensible low carb dinner planned for tonight. However, I might have slightly overindulged in black coffee...feeling decidedly jittery right now!

MirabelleTree · 17/02/2017 07:01

Thanks Tractors and well done on the lunch.

1.75lbs off for me this week which is week 14. Total lost is 30.75lb, 69.25lbs to go.

Surgery target, 18lbs with 14 weeks to go.

PopsicleBopsicle · 17/02/2017 07:06

Wow Mirabelle that's so fantastic! I'm only on week two but would be over the moon if I could loose 10lbs a week!

18lbs in 14 weeks is very doable!

PopsicleBopsicle · 17/02/2017 07:06

Sorry should say a month not a week. That would be crazy!

MirabelleTree · 17/02/2017 07:26

Thanks Popsicle. I didn't have that initial big loss at the start with 1lb for the first week as I had my period but the loss has been fairly consistent . I hadn't realised I had done 10lbs a month but I guess it is,

So glad I spent my birthday money in a Fitbit. I was really sceptical that it would help but it does seem to be fairly accurate and is really helping me balance food in versus energy out, I feel so much more in control.

BreakingSad · 17/02/2017 15:43

Welcome Popsicle, StubbleTurnips and DrunkVet.

That's great news MirabelleTree and very doable to hit the target. I also love my Fitbit too and love hitting my targets and seeing the screen go green Grin

Weigh in for me tomorrow, have a good weekend ladies.

BreakingSad · 18/02/2017 08:26

Morning all, lost 0 lbs this week, I did go out to eat on Wednesday and always struggle at the weekend, but on the plus side I didn't gain any. I'm off out for a walk and will try to endeavour to make healthier food choices this weekend.

To lose 113 lbs
Lost to date 32 lbs
Left to lose 81 lbs
Lost this week 0 lbs

StubbleTurnips · 18/02/2017 08:36

Morning all,

Lost half this week, not bad considering Valentine's Day and a meal out with the inlaws. Did 2x5mile and 3x2mile walks with the buggy over the week. It's in the right direction!

Lost this week: 0.5lb
Lost to date: 30lbs
Weight now: 15' 5

Got a fitness tracker for my wrist on Amazon deals, couldn't afford a Fitbit but hoping the cheaper version isn't a let down.

honeysucklejasmine · 18/02/2017 08:41

Good news on your op, Mirabelle.

Still up on the scales, although down on last time. But, total loss of 25lbs so I am going to focus on that.

Have my midwife appointment on Wednesday. Bit upset that I will prob be on high bmi pathway again but all that really meant was a gtt. Oh well.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 18/02/2017 09:49

Morning all! I've lost the 2lbs I gained last week, so quite happy with that.

To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 19 lbs
Left to lose: 105 lbs
Lost this week: 2lbs

MirabelleTree · 18/02/2017 09:54

When you've struggled for years with your weight, staying the same is a result i think Breakingsad, you've lost well over 2 stone which is pretty heavy when you lift something that weight and try and carry it over time. If it would help at all maybe try writing down here weekend food and exercise?

Stubble, not sure how much you are aiming to lose but if it is 100lbs, congratulations on being 30% of the way there.

Honeysuckle fully get where you are coming from . You are being much more sensible than I was and this way you'll control it through pregnancy and things will be much easier to deal with afterwards.

BreakingSad · 18/02/2017 22:15

I know Mirabelle that's what keeps me going, that for once I haven't given up and have come further than I have in a long time.

I've checked back on myfitnesspal and on most days I've gone over my food calories and dipped into my exercise extra calories.

It's also being home all day and I have no routine at the weekend. So task for this week, keep within my food calories and plan my food for the weekend.

Good luck ladies and keep going.

ChestyNut · 19/02/2017 10:02

Morning all

Week 7- 1lb on Sad

only thing different is I've eaten more cheese this week.
It's just such hard work isn't it?

Hoping for a better week next week.
