Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Hi all. Totally forgot to weigh in this morning, but if yesterday's sneak peek is anything to go by, I have gained 3lbs. Blush I had a takeaway on Saturday and i had a bad day with baby being V ill which ended in pizza and garlic bread.

However, I am also now preggo (woo!) so there's probably some initial bloating etc going on. I plan to continue with SW whilst pregnant, you get extra allowances for fibre and dairy. Cheeeeese.

Oh wow, congrats honey! Flowers That's definitely a suitable reason for the scales being up a little! Grin

FilmaWlintstone · 11/02/2017 09:42

I've got 91 to lose for my wedding in October can I join?

Started 1.5 weeks ago and lost 10 lbs so far but am aware a lot of that is 'water weight'

BreakingSad · 11/02/2017 13:07

Congratulations Honey that's wonderful news. Notractor keep going, that was me last week, our bodies really do try and test us. FilmaWlintstone welcome abroad and a great start.

honeysucklejasmine · 11/02/2017 16:29

Thanks ladies. Still a bit gutted it's gone up though. Although if last time is anything to go by I will spend at least 8 months throwing up. 😂

ChestyNut · 12/02/2017 10:13

Week 6
To lose-100lbs
Lost to date -12lbs
Loss this week-1/2lb Sad
Total loss-12 1/2lbs
To loose 87 1/2 lbs

Have struggled this week, eaten more than usual. Week5/6 is usually where I lose motivation. Must try harder this week!

Leelaa123 · 12/02/2017 15:22

Hi all would love to join you... really need to get some scales tho. All i kno is I'm at the biggest I've been as an adult and it's quite depressing.
I've just started tryin to cook as much as possible from scratch, which I've just realised is expensive but worth it I've also started making smoothies and drinking those instead of eating snacks. The last time i weighes myself I wanted to lose 9st. Since the start of feb i kno i've lost a little will get scales soon and let you kno.

Also its so nice to see how supportive everyone is of each other Grin

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 12/02/2017 17:17

Chesty you can join me in having a kick-ass week Wink I've been good this weekend, so on a roll to keep it going.

Leelaa - welcome! Everyone is very supportive here, this thread is great at keeping me going Smile

MirabelleTree · 12/02/2017 17:44

Been away for weekend and back to see lovely news from Honeysuckle 🙂

Hang in there Chesty, look at it as nearly a stone rather than how long you've been doing it if you can.

Welcome Leela.

I've been good this weekend, thanks to a great effort from Dad and Stepmum having salads etc in for me. Went for veggie option in pub then had a small slice of cake.

Well done notanurse! On the loss and finding a good option in Prezzo.

My cold is still hanging about, but is definitely on its way out!

Hope everyone else is having a good day!

ZestyDragon · 13/02/2017 18:42

I weighed in yesterday morning

Start: 287lbs
Current: 268lbs
Loss this week: 5lbs
Loss: 19lbs
Goal: 160lbs

Problem is - DH and I went for a little hotel break last night - wine, 3 course meal, nice breakfast this morning, seafood linguine for lunch with garlic bread and I started AF this morning.

I will be hiding from the scales for the rest of week!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 14/02/2017 13:06

Well done Zesty, 5lbs is amazing!

I'm back on track, so hoping for a lb or two to have gone by Saturday - fingers crossed! Hoping to lose what I put on last week and any more will be a bonus! Had to buy some work clothes yesterday and got a little over ambitious in what I thought would suit me and fit me properly Blush - definitely an incentive to keep going!

Rumtopf · 14/02/2017 13:08

Afternoon everyone! Have had a super busy few days so haven't been around much.
Honey what marvellous news, congratulations!!

Lots of great looses too which is brilliant.

AF has left the building (hurrah!) so after a weekend (plus a few days!) of not eating healthily and several glasses of wine I expected a gain, but got a lovely surprise of another lb off.
Now to spend the afternoon cooking lovely healthy things to fill the fridge up with. My fil has sent home via Dh a couple of grocers boxes of different veggies so I'll make a huge vat of caponata but I'm stuck for ideas with cauliflower. Any recommendations?

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 14/02/2017 13:14

I'm a huge fan of roasted cauliflower anyway, but this curry is pretty damn tasty: www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/roasted-cauliflower-curry/

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 14/02/2017 13:16

Meant to say that I chuck broccoli in there too, and any other veg that is going spare Smile

BreakingSad · 14/02/2017 15:01

Hello everyone and well done Zestydragon, Notanurse and Rumtopf.

Just thought I'd check in, having a good week so far and even added a couple on walks in. Weekends are definitely my downfall.

Had to look up caponata Rumtopf, looks lovely, I think I need to be more adventurous with food, I tend to stick to the same old recipes I know.

Rumtopf · 14/02/2017 16:03

That curry looks lovely and I've never roasted cauli! Will try that for sure.

Dh is Italian so I've pinched loads of recipes from his Dad who used to be a chef. Caponata is one of my absolute favourite things and as long as you're not too liberal with the olive oil it's actually rather healthy and very flavoursome - always better a day or two after first made.

BreakingSad · 14/02/2017 16:32

Snap Rumtopf my DH is Italian too, that's why I was surprised I haven't heard of it, my MIL is a fabulous cook, that's why my cooking is not great, a lot to live up too Grin

Rumtopf · 15/02/2017 10:25

Ah my MIl is a terrible cook, but her husband is a retired chef so I guess she's never needed to. We are a bit competitive about whose food is the best lol, my tiramisu got voted the favourite at the last gathering Grin.
This is why making healthy, positives choices all the time time is hard - we all love our food, gain a lot of pleasure from eating and I gain extraordinary amounts of pleasure from providing people with lovely food and I guess it's one of the ways I show people I love them.

Why we overeat is really quite deeply rooted.

MirabelleTree · 15/02/2017 13:49

Well done everyone, great losses! Lovely sounding Italian food plus curry is making my mouth water. DD has luckily cooked spaghetti bolognese for tea which smells great.

Drunkvet · 15/02/2017 14:19

Can I join please?
I really need to do something about my weight. I've got to the stage we're I feel my skin might split from all the fat under it. I weigh 3 stone more than my husband and I look like a HUGE egg on legs.
So started Dukan on Monday and so far it's been ok-ish to stick too. Although I'm now drinking 3L water a day and the work toilets are shudder
Name: Drunkvet
Start weight 280
Target weight 168
Lost so far ?
Weekly loss ?

MirabelleTree · 15/02/2017 14:20

Welcome Drunkvet. The idea of 3L of water freaks my bladder out !

ZestyDragon · 15/02/2017 14:43

Welcome Drunkvet.

Actually a rather personal question for you guys - does anyone here have a REALLY weak bladder? I do and I suspect that it has a lot to do with my weight. I am working on activating my core and I think that is helping but the situation is pretty bad. What can I do?

MirabelleTree · 15/02/2017 14:46

Yes and it is improving a bit with the weight loss Zesty.
