Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

I'm weighing in Monday but just dropped in to see how all the Saturday weighers are doing. Well done everybody!

I have downloaded the app too, thanks stumbly. I like that it tells me I've lost 10% of my target in 5% of my time. Grin

I have been utterly exhausted over the last week. I feel like I should be bouncing off the walls with not drinking and eating tonnes of vegetables, but it has not panned out like that. However, I am feel much less hungry the last two days, so that can only be a good thing.

Keep going everybody!

To lose: 104 3/4lbs
Lost to date: 24 1/4lbs
Left to lose: 80 1/2 lbs
Lost this week: 1 1/2lbs

Phew, lots of fractions! Quite pleased with my loss this week I guess, but still feel like I am making slow progress. Might have to pack a bag up with tins and bottles to match my weight loss and carry it for a bit. That should make me quit my whining 😂

I am also on to my second food diary. I bought 4, which cover 12 weeks each, and fully expected to give up half way through the first. So really pleased that I am now on number 2!

Made a few resolutions for the new diary - fewer days over my syns (I went over 15 times in 12 weeks, sometimes just a little, sometimes by loads) and to do a few SP days each week.

Tonight I am having pizza. Making my own crust with wholemeal bread dough, will prob double it, use my Hex B for half and syn the rest. And use my Hex A and a few syns for the cheese.

I know that will sound like gobbledegook if you don't do SW!

BreakingSad · 14/01/2017 12:32

Really pleased especially as I went off track last weekend. Weekends are the hardest for me, but feel motivated today.

To lose: 113 lbs
Lost to date: 27 lbs
Left to lose: 86 lbs
Lost this week: 2 lbs

Gin keep going, you've work so hard and it will show it. AF is so disruptive to weight loss.

Laselva · 14/01/2017 12:38

Lowdoor - Many of my failed weight loss attempts have been accompanied by low energy. I read posts where people go on about how the bursting with energy whilst I have been slumped on my sofa.
This time I've been taking vitamin supplements daily (mainly iron, vit D and vit B12) and whilst I'm not bouncing off the walls my energy levels are higher than usual.

Well done to everyone who has lost, its weigh in day for me tomorrow so will update then.

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 14/01/2017 12:44

Thanks Laselva, I must remember to keep up with the iron supplement. I might look into some other supplements too. I must be missing something necessary! That said, I do feel much better this morning.

FizzPopping · 14/01/2017 16:15

To lose: 100 lbs

OopsDearyMe · 14/01/2017 20:04

Hey all,
Started last week. So stats are
Starting weight: 19st 9lbs
Current weight : 19st 3lbs
Loss / Gain : 6lbs loss
Still to lose : 3lbs ( I am trying not to look at the whole weight loss needed as its so much so working toward a round stone at a time) More successes that way and feels easier.
I'm doing a mix of Dr Xand VanTulleken and adding some SW recipes, whilst going sugar cold Turkey. Massive headaches right now!!!

Laselva · 15/01/2017 08:33

Well done Chesty

What is everyone aiming to lose a week? I worry that as I ve so much to lose I should be having big losses each week?

Remember you're not alone, everyone on this thread has a lot to lose Smile I'm not aiming high, but I want consistency - I want to lose 2lbs a week, which should be 100lbs over the year.

My doctor said my PCOS means I probably won't see huge losses from week to week, and it might take longer than other people, but as long as I stick with it, it should all come off. I don't know if that would change if I were to do a VLCD, but I don't think that's a sustainable option for me.

Laselva · 15/01/2017 11:26

Chesty - I'm 42 now and though I've lost 7lb in 2 weeks I know that for me my loss will probably slow down to an average of around a 1lb a week.
I need to get into the mindset that even when I don't lose weight that in itself is a victory. I wasn't going to stay at my starting weight if I hadn't begun my diet, my weight would have continued to creep up and up by a pound or 2 a month.

MirabelleTree · 15/01/2017 11:52

I'm averaging 2.25lbs a week which is slightly over the 1-2lbs a week I'm aiming for but that's because it's relatively early days (just finished week 9). The first few weeks were 1lb, 3.5lb, 1.5lb, 3.75lb, 1lb so none of this 8lbs in a week that used to happen up they are adding up now to 1.5stone pretty much.

Realistically I'm the wrong side of 45 and it will be slow. Fast weight loss increases your risk of gallstones and they are bloody painful ! Even if we all 'just' lost a pound a week from now on that's 4 stone in a year and that will have big health benefits plus a big impact on day to day life.

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 15/01/2017 12:55

Thanks everyone you've made me feel better. I'm in for the long haul so slow and steady will hopefully be better than quick, miserable and falling off the wagon.

Tractors I have PCOS too....I fat and have a hairy chin Grin

BreakingSad · 15/01/2017 14:58

1-2 lbs is what I aim for in a week. I too have PCOS and in a couple of weeks with be 45 yrs old. So it's slow and steady for me as well.

MedwayMumoffour · 15/01/2017 15:40

3lbsthis week again. I'm sure it's mostly just do to being ill. Hope I can keep this up. Would be happy with 1 lbs a week

SpornStar · 15/01/2017 17:46

I have such a lot to lose that I know that my initial losses are big - I can easily do 4-6lbs a week for the first 6 weeks or so. After that it's more likely to settle out at 2-3lbs a week as long as I'm sticking to it.

Rumtopf · 15/01/2017 20:43

I'm aiming for a steady loss of 5-7lbs a month. I've got PCOS too so it does tend to be slow.
I went back to the gym on Saturday and did run 1, week 1 of C25K! I'm a bit achy now but will go again tomorrow. Did lots of walking over the weekend too which all helps.

Diemme · 15/01/2017 21:10

Hi all, just come back to this thread after falling off the wagon Sad. Starting again tomorrow! Everyone seems to be doing so well on here. I WILL stick around from now on!

honeysucklejasmine · 15/01/2017 21:37

Welcome back Diemme. I try to check in most days to keep me on the straight and narrow. Smile

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 16/01/2017 07:08

I have lost another 3.5lb this week to make it 12.5 altogether. Hoping to make the stone next week.

Happy Monday everybody!

Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?
Rumtopf · 16/01/2017 07:48

Well done Lowdoor!
Welcome back Diemme. I pop in most days, I find the support really helpful.

I'm trying to muster the energy to go to the gym this morning as I didn't sleep well at all last night. Also a bit daunted at going without dh with all the Monday morning gym bunnies there while I lumber along on the treadmill.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 16/01/2017 11:24

Hi all, well done on everyones weight loss.

Week one for me and I lost 8.5lb, very happy but also very conscious that some will be water and I tend to have a bad second week.

To lose 101lb
Lost this week 8.5lb
Total lost 8.5lb
Still to lose 92.5lb

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 16/01/2017 11:31

Meant to say to chesty that I plan to lose 1.5lb a week.

HairsprayQueen · 16/01/2017 20:28

Please can I join.

I sat by a side on mirror at Pizza Express yesterday (eating macaroni cheese, that great healthy meal Hmm) and my profile is monstrous, I don't often see that angle!

I'm so fat and it's really ruining my life.

I want to lose 100lbs and then see where I go from there.

I'm the classic 'start Monday thinking this is really going to be it this time, fall off by Wednesday, by the weekend have some (lots of) treats as a final swan song because on Monday I'm going to really do it' repeat weekly.

Consequently I don't even know what I want to eat any more so I think I'm going to do meal replacement- I know they are not ideal but I need some time away from having to make decisions if that makes sense.

So my stats

Hairsprayqueen

Starting pounds to lose: 100
Lost this week: 0
Lost so far: 0
Still to lose: 100

SayrraT · 16/01/2017 20:49

Hi everyone Smile

I've been lurking since the start of the thread and thought you all sounded lovely and so supportive. I thought that instead of lurking I should join in too.

I love the fact that you are all doing different things but yet are managing to support each other.

The best way of eating I've found for me is low carb high fat so that's what I'm doing. I lost a few stones when I did it before but then ended up going back to my old bad habits (plus keeping some of the high fat! High fat high sugar is a recipe for disaster Grin).

I have at least 100lbs to lose but I've made my goal for this year to be 52lbs, 1lb a week. I hope that having a realistic goal helps me. So far I've written my goal weight into my diary on the 1st of each month, I can write my actual anytime I weigh.

Starting Weight: 243lbs
Goal Weight: 191lbs
Current Weight: 236lbs
Weigh to Lose: 45lbs
