Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

I couldn't do a fast day - respect DoubleGin!

I've been good today, and have an aubergine and egg hash planned for dinner Smile The DCs may or may not eat it...remains to be seen!

Hope you've all had good days, I've forgotten how exhausting the first week back is - DCs and DH are feeling the same, we're all going to bed early tonight Smile - can't wait!

Rumtopf · 05/01/2017 16:53

I've started meal planning for the day on mfp in the morning when I've worked out what we're having for dinner. Did it today and discovered that I have enough cals left over for a bowl of mango sorbet later on. Planning a treat definitely helps me.

BreakingSad · 05/01/2017 18:31

Had an ok day, kept within my calories, but not always the healthiest option.

I've been trying out a Fitbit and was shocked at the difference in calories when I was cycling. The reading from the Fitbit and the reading on my exercise bike, were completely different.

Rumtopf · 05/01/2017 19:04

Which was higher Breakingsad?

I've just made veggie quorn spaghetti bolognaise with a huge salad and actually weighed out the pasta before cooking. I am shocked! I had absolutely no idea we were over eating pasta by such a huge amount.

SpornStar · 05/01/2017 19:12

Evening folks. Hope you've all had a good day.

It's only day 2 for me but another good day so far. Not even terribly hungry at this point although a busy day helped as I didn't have much time to think about food or snacking. Going to make a veggie curry for with some cauliflower rice for dinner.

Evenings are a really bad time for me usually as that's when I tend to binge on chocolate. I've taken up knitting to keep me occupied while watching telly and keep me away from the cupboards. So far, it's really effective. I'm not much good at it but maybe I will be by the time I'm skinny Grin

BreakingSad · 05/01/2017 19:22

Rumtopf the bike said 416 and the Fitbit 158.

Limewithorange · 05/01/2017 19:39

I'm reading the thread with great interest. I'm starting Monday! Probably with a few more pounds to lose than at the start of last week. Feel I need a clean house and clean mind before I can start properly.

honeysucklejasmine · 05/01/2017 19:41

Hi all. SP day 3 done. Still have 10 syns to use so think I may have a glass of prosecco and some matchmakers. Once dd is in bed though, or she will want to share. Nope. My chocolate

eatingtomuch · 05/01/2017 20:02

I'm struggling this evening, this is when I'd usually binge.
Trying to keep busy.
Overall had a good day food wise so don't want to spoil it.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 05/01/2017 21:23

After starting on mon I decided to weigh tonight, I've put ON weight. I feel like giving up now. This sucks.
I normally lose 8-10lbs in the first week.
My partner is 10st, I'm double his weight at 21st 7 now. I was 15st when we met.
I feel like giving up.
Sorry for the self absorbed rant :(
I'll be back positive tomorrow

MirabelleTree · 05/01/2017 21:46

I struggled this evening with people sitting around me eating curry and cake, it wasn' easy.

Icant, sympathies Flowers. I've lost 8lbs in a week before but only 1lb this time round and by the end of week 3 I was at 6lbs. I'd said I wanted to lose an average of 2lbs a week but I was hoping for a good first week to give me a boost. However now I'm on week 8 and the pounds have added up so it's over a stone it doesn't seem so bad and I kept going despite feeling a bit despondent at a slowish start as failure isn't an option.

Are you due your period or mid cycle at all? Hang in there and try to forget all your past attempts and what happened before as much as possible. Maybe for now get DP to hide the scales and just focus on getting through the day if you can.

MirabelleTree · 05/01/2017 21:56

Icant looking back I think you weighed at a morning SW class ? I'm 4 lbs heavier at night than I am first thing in the morning. Also you are on different scales at home to the ones at class so likely to be a difference.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 05/01/2017 22:51

Yes morning group so that could be a factor? On period too, I've just eaten 3 custard creams out of fustration agh. I'll weigh in the morning and If it still shows a gain I'll go syn free :)

Rumtopf · 05/01/2017 22:58

iCan't yes your period can make a huge difference. I once noticed a 6lb difference one day to the next then two days later it had gone again. And the difference between a morning weight and an evening weight is really noticeable too.

MirabelleTree · 05/01/2017 23:04

i wouldn't go syn free as there's the risk of feeling more deprived and whilst on period you'll probably want to use them if you're anything like me. Don't let the 3 custard creams throw you.

The combination of morning weigh, period and different scales can make a big difference, I'd expect you to be showing a gain in the circumstance.

windygallows · 05/01/2017 23:25

Hi can I join? I have just over 7 stone to lose. Can't believe it's that much! This year has been hopeless but I'm going that a combination of exercise, tracking calories and cutting out sugar (my huge downfall) will make a difference.

I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago and was told that it's harder to lose weight as a result? Anyone else? Maybe just an excuseSmile

Goal 10 stone. The dream!

MirabelleTree · 06/01/2017 00:06

Welcome Windy Smile I don't know about post gallbladder surgery yet I'm afraid as I'm waiting for it, having an attack right now and am looking forward to being shot of it. Worrying that it can make weight loss harder though.

MedwayMumoffour · 06/01/2017 00:09

Lost 3lbs this week at SW very shocked! Long may it last!

MirabelleTree · 06/01/2017 07:16

Well done MedwayMum

Weigh day for me today (week 8) and I've lost a rather unexpected 4lbs taking me to a total loss of 19.5lbs , 80.5lbs to go.

Rumtopf · 06/01/2017 08:16

Well done Medway and Mirabelle!

Lumberries · 06/01/2017 12:04

OH God

Oh God oh god oh god.

I took a "before" photo and its just bloody AWFUL. I cried until my face hurt Sad

How on earth did it get this bad??

BreakingSad · 06/01/2017 12:54

Lumberries it's a hard and scary thing to face, so well done.

Well done MedwayMum and MirabelleTree
I'll weigh in tomorrow.

MirabelleTree · 06/01/2017 14:42

Lumberries you're a braver person than I am, no way am I facing a camera. I think the how in earth did it get so bad resonates with us all very strongly.

It's not a lot of comfort at the moment but you have started and already have nearly a week done so have taken positive steps to deal with it rather than that 'I'll do it next week' thing I'm sure a lot of us have done in the past.

SpornStar · 06/01/2017 16:36

Lumberries, I totally sympathise. I asked my DH to send me photos that he'd taken on a family day out over Christmas. I thought I'd carefully stayed out of way of the camera but he caught me in one and I was horrified and disgusted by what I saw. I'm glad i saw it though as that's the kick up the arse I needed to get back in control of what I eat.

We can do this...and you're not doing it alone. The great thing about this thread is that we all know, or have known, those feelings. Chin up...you're doing great.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 06/01/2017 16:44

Well done Medway and Mirabelle!

I've had a bit of M&S fudge today - mad with myself because I didn't want it, knew I wouldn't really enjoy it and still ate it anyway Angry. But back on track with the rest of the day - something salmon based for tonight and we'll see what the weekend brings.

I'm weighing in tomorrow - I don't think I've lost too much, will be happy with 2lb to kick me off, but realistically will take anything Smile
