Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Wonder how full the thread will be by March Tractors Grin
I get bored and deflated so quickly normally.

Ok day here, feel hungry all the time but I'm sure it's subconscious.

Why does it seem my work colleagues discuss nothing but food? GrinAngry

I really need to lose 100lbs as getting married on 1st December and desperately want to like how I look in the photos as we're spending a lot on the day.

Two days in here, calorie tracking on MFP. Under calories yesterday, will be a shade over today but I try not to let that put me off keeping going.

Have previously lost three stone in three months but put it back on again due to binge eating. I'm seeing a counsellor every week to help with my eating issues (among other things) so fingers crossed!

DoubleGin · 04/01/2017 18:54

Helloo all !
Loving the pictures of the food, looks so good !
I've had a good day food wise, I had a 'glorious skinny soup' for lunch it was delicious and only 138cal for half the pot, I bought a couple extra for my next two fast days (on offer in Waitrose £1.46 !!) just waiting for DP to cook dinner, SW chips and spinach with goats cheese. I am so looking forward to it !

Not doing well on liquid front, I'm like a camel and can go all day without a drink, must increase my fluid intake !

How do you guys cope on weekends, that's when my eating spirals the most. I think I may try be out a lot and I do eat when I'm bored Blush

honeysucklejasmine · 04/01/2017 19:00

Another accidental SP day here. Makes me think SP won't be too hard which is good as the food shop arrives tonight with all my sp meals! 😂

Am going to make a breakfast loaf and some egg muffins to have for breakfasts. I ordered salad bits for lunches. 😃 Feeling positive.

Rumtopf · 04/01/2017 19:19

doublegin at weekends I make sure to have a really filling, satiating breakfast, some fruit and water in my bag if we go out and put something healthy in the slow cooker so I'm not tempted to get something easy for dinner.

I made a delicious soup for lunch today, curried lentil and carrot - was only 125 cals for a huge mug and very filling, I wasn't hungry all afternoon.

I'm giving the last quarter of the Christmas cake away as it's bloody sat there looking at me every time I walk in the kitchen!

SixtyDegreesNorth · 04/01/2017 20:00

What is SP? Confused

SixtyDegreesNorth · 04/01/2017 20:09

To lose : 104lb
Lost to date : Fuck all
Left to lose : 104lb
Lost this week : Fuck all Grin

Must. Try. Harder.

belu1 · 04/01/2017 20:47

End of April last year I weighed 266lbs and got down to 241lbs by Christmas /December (ie lost about 2 stone) by following a low carb diet and regular exercise but put on 7lbs over Christmas comfort eating through a heavy cold
So my starting weight today is 248lbs
Plan is to lose at least 1lb a week (I'm not being very ambitious as I've failed too often in the past).
I will try to report here every Thursday

honeysucklejasmine · 04/01/2017 20:49

Sorry Sixty it's a slimming world thing. Where you eat only things that are designated speed or protein. Essentially it's low fat low carb. You're only supposed to do the odd week now and then, to kick start your loss. I have been stuck for a bit so thought I would try it.

CrazyDuchess · 04/01/2017 20:53

Finally cracked it today - first full day of sticking to my calorie count and making good choices! And giving up my Costa habit. Being back at work really makes a difference

SpornStar · 04/01/2017 23:34

Hello all. I posted somewhere near the start of the thread then went and ate my way through the last few days of the holidays.

Back to work today so day 1 of the diet and it's gone really well. Using MFP again (and totally disgusted with myself to see how much I'd put on since I last used MFP several months back).

So...my stats

Name: SpornStar
Age: 40
To lose - at least 140lbs
Loss to date - big fat (literally!) 0
Left to lose - at least 140lbs
Loss this week - 0 (starting today)

Good luck one and all. We've got this.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 04/01/2017 23:48

I found this chart on a FB group where you track every 1lb you lose, it looks like a great visual tool so I'm going to print it off.
I'll find the link.

OMG- went to Dr this morning for annual BP check and I've put on 10 kilos since July!

So, my current weight as of today is 130 legs. I'm speechless.

Spurred me on to get going though. Managed 12500 steps today too.

Thank you Honey. I like the sound of that 😊

Lumberries · 05/01/2017 07:22

Morning guys!

I'm finding taking and posting photos of my food is quite a good motivation so here is my dinner last night :) orange chilli and ginger salmon with rice and spinach :)

I had a moment of clarity yesterday as I sat in a happy food coma after I'd finished eating dinner:

I'm a HUGE foodie. I love to eat and I massively enjoy my food. Previously, i would 'treat' myself with food and think the only way to do the was with a certain few foods that I thought were my favourites. So chicken BBQ pizza from a certain takeaway, pringles, chocolate etc etc. I craved these foods when I was sad or ill or happy etc because I thought they made me happy to eat.

What I realised last night was that I've enjoyed my food today just as much if not more than I enjoy those high fat high sugar binge foods and what's more, I woke up today feeling good and not guilty about the food i ate.

I realised I can make every single meal a 'treat' and don't have to rely on high fat high sugar food to make me feel good.

Huh. Confused

Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?
Rumtopf · 05/01/2017 08:04

Lumberries that's a huge revelation. I'm going through similar! Cooking and providing tasty, nourishing food for my family gives me immense pleasure, as does the eating of it of course.
Your dinner looks yummy, we're having similar tonight.

MirabelleTree · 05/01/2017 12:21

That looks lovely Lumberries. I'm having a hectic week so not organised. Lunch yesterday was vegetable sushi with buckwheat noodle and broccoli salad from Waitrose and I had a sort of similar moment - it's being organised to arrange it . The Louise Parker lean for life cookbook is 99p on Kindle. Not had a chance to look at it properly but I think possibly some nice recipes in it.

Top tip for birthday cake substitute- Mr Kipling chocolate slices from 9 pack are good and something like 138 calories so I decided not to bother with Connie the Caterpillar chocolate cake after all.

Lumberries · 05/01/2017 12:33

Lunch today is giant cous cous salad with half an avacado and smoked salmon :)

hefzi · 05/01/2017 12:35

Hi, everyone,

Just popped in to start a thread and discovered you were all here already! May I join too, please? Not been on the scales yet, but already feeling better to know I'm not the only one. It can be really lonely being fat- the "biggest" person I know, through work or socially, is about a 14- I m a 24 in vanity sizes Blush

MirabelleTree · 05/01/2017 12:40

Welcome Hefzi, lots of us plugging away at it here Smile

Lumberries your food always looks delicious, please be my personal chef. No idea what my dinner will be and running a bit low on things but there is some chicken in the freezer plus some sweet and sour red cabbage so guess I'll do something with that.

hefzi · 05/01/2017 13:12

Cheers, Mirabelle!

I'm in awe of some of the yummy looking food on this thread-trying to remember that yumminess has played it's part in getting me here Grin

belu1 · 05/01/2017 13:34
