Happy Advent!

Here's the link to the November thread where we cheered each other on to be MoSlender

Now we slide frostily into Christmas with the hope of losing more (or at least not losing our grip completely)

Ffs that was supposed to say nice to see you

Haha boop - was about to ask 'Did you mean to be so rude?' in classic MN fashion.

I think 3 linda's in December is jeffing amazing. Well done!

My scales and I are not friends right now. We will remain estranged until the new year and then we will both cry it out and call an uneasy, mistrustful, truce. I predict that In February/March we will be bosom buddies again.

By the end of January I will have a firm, very important martial arts grading target date in place for later in the year. There will be no choice but for me to train hard and get myself back to serious fitness. Vanity targets do not work for me but knowing there's a black belt carrot in my future is the best incentive I can imagine. Bring it on!

Lorelei76 · 17/12/2016 10:50

You know those mornings when you wake up feeling much slimmer? I had one of those. Then I got on the scales. No change. Pfft.
I'm going to attempt 500 cals today. Wish me luck.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2016 11:00

Linda had better look out if you're a black belt Lorelei!

I definitely do Lorelei and I think they're much better than scale victories! I didn't feel especially slim yesterday but the scale gave me a boost; but I've had a couple of "meh" weigh-ins or even small gains which I haven't been able to get upset about because I feel all slinky.

Thanks Kiki! It was my Final Push for December before the revelries start - I doubt I'll even be able to maintain next week, I'm out practically every night from tomorrow until Christmas, with the exception of Monday (which I'll grab at with both hands as a golden day to try and claw a bit back!) and I'm having a takeaway tonight. I just know I'm going to have a hard time fasting in that little window between Christmas and New Year too, it's so tempting to just sail through into January snuggled on the sofa with chocolates and cheese and squeeze the last little bits of pleasure out of the festivities. Perhaps I'll just try and be sensible in those days, rather than golden.

I didn't know you were a martial arts whizz! Shock That is so kick-ass, which discipline is it? You must be a fab teacher to get showered with chocs every year ChocolateChocolate

QuimReaper · 17/12/2016 11:31

BOOP I keep sniggering at "not feeling to see you". It sounds like such a quaint insult, I might start using it Xmas Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2016 12:24

I've just had a NSV. Had to keep pulling my bottoms up as they are too big and we're slipping down Grin

I mean my running leggings. On the treadmill. I am so inarticulate today Confused

It's tae kwon do. We specialise in making tiny girls (and their mums) know they are strong, awesome and can kick ass. I'm only a recent convert to the cause as did not discover how much I enjoyed kicking and punching and learning to move with style, art and power until my late 30s. It's been life changing.

KikisDeliveryService · 17/12/2016 16:58

Proper training re-started today. I feel pleasingly sore :)

Lorelei76 · 17/12/2016 17:04

Bit, it's Kiki going for black belt - yay for Kiki!

The feeling thinner thing is weird isn't it, I mean my pjs were looser when I woke up. Maybe it's just elastic stretching lol!

Bit you must have lost loads overall if you are in danger of exposing yourself at the gym!! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 17/12/2016 21:31

I really have lost the plot on this thread today haven't I? Apologies Kiki. That sounds awesomely empowering

Morning all.

Quim I'm am Pom who married an Aussie - so been out here for 10 years and (mostly) love it. Are you coming out?! Where are you going? Pack your bathers and sunnies (as we Aussies say) it's dazzlingly bright and lovely and warm - oh and don't forget to Slip, Slop, Slap we don't want any damage when you're sun-baking.

Kiki well done on the training. Black Belt sounds amazing.

My news, ran 20min NON STOP this morning, and am going for a doggy walk later whilst dd is at gymnastics, so should get about 10km in today. Had an AFD yesterday after my shameful antics on Fri night, so feel great today. Pumperknickle, banana and yoghurt for breakfast Hmm, which was nice(ish). Should get me through until dinner time when it's steak and salad. Might take kids to see the Xmas lights tonight. As it's summer though it doesn't get dark until 9 so it will be a late night for them - and me.

HairsprayBabe · 18/12/2016 00:50

Have done horribly hic

Pizza, wine, cake, bread, and more wine hic

I am not expecting the scales to be kind in the morning!

Mummyreindeerlegz · 18/12/2016 08:36

I'm restarting tomorrow. Today is going to involve Byron. Yesterday involved wine and dessert and roast. It was yum but wow I over did.

BitOutOfPractice · 18/12/2016 08:36

Bonjour. We are on our way to France for a little jaunt and visit the Christmas markets and buy Christmas booze. It's not going to be golden that's for certain.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 18/12/2016 09:06

Have fun BOOP!

Archduke that sounds pretty golden, especially for a weekend. Well done on the run Smile

Things are pretty far from golden here. I am considering not weighing myself over the next couple of weeks. I think I will just do my best to not go completely overboard, and try to fit in my fast days/gym visits, but ultimately I don't want to be thinking about my weight at this time of year. I can sort it out in January! And hopefully I won't regain all the weight I have lost so far.

HairsprayBabe · 18/12/2016 09:40

12.3 could have been a whooole lot worse...... but oh dear lord my pounding head Envy

Lorelei76 · 18/12/2016 10:27

I'm actually thinking I might need to do weekly weigh in. I lose weight at a stupidly low rate anyway so getting on the scales daily isn't doing much for my motivation!

BitOutOfPractice · 18/12/2016 15:50

I have found my people. Chatting in Dutch to dome Dutch people Rhine eating raclette and drinking wine. Oh yes

Twice. With different typos Confused

OP posts:
Lorelei76 · 18/12/2016 16:03

I'm confused what raclette actually is, i thought it was a cheese?

I am thinking of going back veggie. I suddenly realised, in summer I went off fish, now I am buying Linda McCartney stuff like it's going out of fashion, when I have meat + 2 veg for dinner I find it tedious.

so maybe I should go back to be being veggie. I dunno.

Lorelei76 · 18/12/2016 16:04

i was tiny when I was veggie but I was also a lot younger!!!

QuimReaper · 18/12/2016 16:24

BOOP I've said it before and I'm saying it again, but I want your life you are such a glamour puss! I am DROOLING at that picture! Congrats on the NSV too, what a lovely thing just before Christmas!

Kiki you are really making me want to learn now, what a cool hobby and job! Also I really want a hobby I can refer mysteriously to in AIBU threads.

Archduke well done on that amazing exercise fest! I am not headed there any time soon but my Dad's an Aussie so half my family are over there Smile

Lorelei I couldn't weigh in every day, it's always once a week for me and at the end of a run of good behaviour. And like Spurious I won't be weighing again now until January!
