Happy Advent!

Here's the link to the November thread where we cheered each other on to be MoSlender

Now we slide frostily into Christmas with the hope of losing more (or at least not losing our grip completely)

I started drinking Prosecco whilst making vol-au-vents at about noon

That just about sums my Christmas up exactly Quimmy Xmas Grin

Hi all

Well done Lorelei on the 1.5 lb loss. That is fabulous work, I know you don't celebrate Xmas but even so, I.5 down is great.

I have had a greedy few days. I feel like I'm switching back into my old ways so if anyone is giving Chardonnay a boot up the arse can you direct one to me too please.

Today we are going to lunch at the beach (it's cold and wet fgs, so will be indoors) I'm on desserts and intended to make this chocolate yule log. Mine however resembles a long chocolate turd. I am devvo, it's currently in the freezer as I thought chilling it would stop the icing sliding off into lumps. I have to drive 45 mins with it slowly warming up in the car so have made a Tiramisu as well. That's chock full of booze so perfect for the kiddies.

We are then off to some hipster pizza place for dinner - tomorrow is NYE and there will be more sodding feasting. Then that's IT. I will fast for January.

Parkrun tomorrow, it's the only think that's keeping me from being 200kg blimp.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/12/2016 11:09

Hellooooo! I'm just contemplating starting some work. I have had an egg and bacon sandwich to gird my loins

Day of chores today. That's gotta cut down the eating right? I'm going to the gym though so that makes up for it all

Archie your next few days sound lovely. Enjoy it and look forward to getting back on the wagon in the NY

Evening all! Things are not going goldenly here. I have tried to do two fast days this week and have failed miserably.. Hopefully once things are back to normal next week I will be a bit more successful! Hope you are all doing better than I am!

Lorelei76 · 30/12/2016 21:17

Really hope Chardonnay isn't still running round the block Grin

Dinner out for NYE tomorrow, I will have Prosecco but I also deliberately chose a place that wasn't doing a million course set menu, which wasn't easy. it's local though, not central London which is my idea of hell though my friends would have preferred it!

I used to have a tradition of eating Chinese takeaway on New Year's Day. I don't know why, I don't really eat takeaway otherwise. The place I got it from closed though which is probably just as well!

Mummyreindeerlegz · 30/12/2016 21:59

I've got a sinus infection so I think I'll be staying in tomorrow now. I haven't eaten much today so at least a bit of damage limitation.

Family coming for lunch on Sunday. Nice turkey pie and then apple crumble. I'm doing loads of vegetables with it so at least it'll be nutritious.

Lorelei76 · 30/12/2016 22:29

Oh dear mummy reindeer, you're not in pain I hope? Wish you better ASAP.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/12/2016 22:51

We are off on a little jaunt for a couple of days tomorrow. Food all packed Hmm

OP posts:
Mummyreindeerlegz · 30/12/2016 22:55

AGONY. I spent most of the day with the covers over my head clutching my face and crying. But it has eased a lot. Thanks for the well wishes :-)

Archduke · 30/12/2016 23:36

Oh Mummy that sucks. Glad it's easing a bit but Sinus' infections are grim.

I had a massive blow out day yesterday and still feel stuffed today so haven't had anything to eat yet (it's 10am), I'll try and hold off food until lunch at least. I had some lovely NSV's yesterday - I seem to have lost weight noticeably and my kind chums showered me with compliments (well 2 and dh).

DH got home safely from his 1000km bike ride and then rode 60km to lunch. Today he has a day off the bike before getting back on it tomozza. He is the very definition of a mid-life crisis in action.

Happy New Year to one and all. Shall we state our New Year resolutions?? I'll have a bit of a think and post with mine shortly.

BitOutOfPractice · 31/12/2016 00:09

1000km?!? That's almost back to Blighty surely?!?

Oh mummy that sounds like no bloody fun at all. I hope you feel better soon

OP posts:
Archduke · 31/12/2016 03:16

My 2017 New Year Resolutions are:

1 Keep running

2 Make healthy and active choices

3 Lose 8kgs - I will be 56kg in 2017

4 I will be $31million richer by tomorrow morning (just spent $50 on lotto tix)

5 Be nicer to dh/world peace/get a good job blah blah blah

Lorelei76 · 31/12/2016 09:55

Mummy, I hope you feel better today, sinus infections can be fierce.

Bit why are you making a face that food is packed? I've lost the plot are you in the UK?

Archduke, I don't know if there's been a delay in the mail but the papers for you adopting me so I can escape the thick fog and cold haven't arrived yet?

Chardonnay73 · 31/12/2016 10:03

You'll be pleased to know I haven't set foot outside since Thursday 🙄!!!
Am v excited as off out out tonight! The first NYE for 15 years due to pesky kids and lack of babysitters in the past. Going up to Manchester to see friends and go to our favourite Chinese which is having a big gala dinner, then karaoke and disco after, it's going to be messy.....
Then no doubt a day of eating shit to get over the hangover 😜
So the scales will not be good on Tuesday....😩
Hope you all have a great NYE!

Lorelei76 · 31/12/2016 10:48

hi Chardonnay

actually maybe i do have a resolution - I need to put my foot down more about eating out with friends. The problem is we all work in central london but live out in different directions, so logic dictates meeting after work and yes, that means we need to eat dinner. But what I am happy to do is bring some extra food for lunch in the office whereas everyone else sees it as an option to go for a nice meal.

I probably won't go down the road of saying "I am not doing food" because that's annoying, but maybe I need to start saying "let's go to Wagamama" or something and then go to a bar. You know, the type of restaurant where people aren't going to have 3 courses etc.

I remain utterly baffled how so many people eat like this and stay slim but they can say "i won't eat all day because I'm eating out tonight" whereas I do better on little and often.

Lorelei76 · 31/12/2016 10:48

sorry that was dull and a very first world problem.

Mummyreindeerlegz · 31/12/2016 12:07

I used to have a job where I stayed in hotels a few times a month. I always had a three course meal and a cooked breakfast. I had no will power. I always said I'd have steak and salad and fruit salad and poached eggs on toast for breakfast. Never happened.

I have evil snot running down my throat. It's grim.

I have lost two Lindas. Down to 9st11 so that's slightly better.

I want to be at my goal weight next Christmas,8st7 and to be toned and healthy.

BitOutOfPractice · 31/12/2016 15:41

Chardonnay have a top night. I know you will. But don't do islands In The Stream with anyone but me eh?

Archie I made a Confused face because the amount of good we've packed is a. Middle aged (it includes coriander we've chopped in anticipation and hone made soup in flasks) and b. Not great for waistlines

We are looking for a nice pub to spend NYE in. We have checked in at s gorgeous little seaside studio place on the Isle of Wight. It's so so cute.

BitOutOfPractice · 31/12/2016 15:42

Sorry about the typos.

Hone = home

Islands in the steam will always be ours BOOP 😘
Have a fab time xxx

KikisDeliveryService · 31/12/2016 17:43

Unfestive post, and one that is sidestepping the issue of number of Lindas gained over the holiday (her sister Lindor may be partially to blame). Anyway, my new fitbit just 'recognised' my stripping and changing all the bedclothes as a 20 minute aerobic activity! I had been unsure about the slightly random recording nature of the flex 2 until I saw that alert, because it's about time it was noted how physically demanding the household chores can be!

Well Happy New Year's Eve slenderistas!

For me Jan 1st will involve bacon sandwiches and general finishing off of future forbidden fruits cake, but Jan 2nd is when the torture/reprieve begins. I am not partying tonight so that's a whole load of booze calories I'm already saving at least!

Lorelei76 · 31/12/2016 18:11

I'm waiting for the guests with a bop to Kylie and an Aperol spritz....

BitOutOfPractice · 31/12/2016 22:20

Happy new year slender friends StarStar

Spending it in a splendid country pub with wine and excellent company

Cheery hello wave to you all.

How are you doing? I feel a teeny weeny bit vague. 2017 seems to be starting the same way 2016/15/14/13/12/11 etc etc started. I think I had a bad glass of champers about 11 last night.

Today I have had museli and banana, then gone back to bed for a few hours. Am thinking about lunch. Might have a rummage in the fridge for some veg.

Lorelei76 · 01/01/2017 10:02

I'm awake
I would like to wake the guests, feed them then send them home so I can have a nap Grin
